Podcast Time & A Pothead Emerges

Last night I did a pre-draft interview with the guys from EaglesFanCast.  Chuck and Todd are fun guys to talk to (at least that is what they tell me).  You can listen to the show by going over to their site – EaglesFanCast.  The show lasts about an hour and we discuss the Eagles, the draft, and a little CBA talk.

I’m finalizing my Eagles Draft Preview and I’ll get that posted as soon as possible.

So, Florida CB Janoris Jenkins is now ex-Florida CB Janoris Jenkins.  Interesting.  He will enter this summer’s Supplemental Draft, assuming that exists.  Jenkins could be a good fall-back plan for us.  If we miss Jimmy Smith and a top CB in free agency, we can make a run at Jenkins in July.

Real talented player.  I was surprised he didn’t enter the draft this year.  I haven’t studied him thoroughly, but just casually watching him you can’t help but be impressed.  I’ll get into a scouting report down the road.  After all, we may or may not have stuff to discuss in late May and June.

Jenkins was kicked off the team for failing multiple drug tests.  For an All American type to get booted off an SEC team, that’s shocking stuff.  Just how bad did he fail these drug tests?  Was his urine liquid or in the form of marijuana?  Was it just smoke that came out?  Were Cheech and Chong laughing as he filled the cup?  I’ll stop now in the interest of deceny (or something like that).

Howie Roseman is a UF grad.  He loves the Gators.  He’s probably pissed (couldn’t help myself) that Jenkins failed the tests and got the boot.  Howie still has connections down there and can get the scoop on whether Jenkins is an idiot or a turd.  An idiot you can deal with.  Pass on the other guys.

Jenkins could help the Eagles in the current draft.  Some team may pass on going after a CB this week if they have other needs and think they can get Jenkins in July.  The Texans could go for pass rushers and hope for him.  The Lions could go for a LT and hope for him.  Other teams could be interested as well.   (btw…is pothead one word, two words, or hyphenated?)

Pass on the turd? Come on Tommy, you couldn’t squeeze “flush” in there somewhere?

My apologies. I set myself up perfectly and then missed the chance. For shame, for shame.

There may be multiple teams using a supplemental first on Jenkins.

    @ ian …

The whole point is that some teams will draft the CB they want this weekend. A couple will sign FAs. The teams that don’t fill the CB hole will be fighting for Jenkins. That could be 2 teams or maybe more, but I doubt we’re talking about a handful. At that point, we have a game of chicken to see who will use a 1st rounder on him. Talented player, but he did just get kicked out of UF for smoking too much weed. This isn’t a no-brainer pick, a guy you absolutely use a 1st round pick on. Caveat Emptor.

That guy that potholed was a pothead. He was probably called Jimmy Smith 😀

It sucks this guy had to be the only pothead (its one word btw) that doesn’t know about cleansing teas, or clean urine suppliers. Dumb ass.

You should have kept the jokes rolling. Those were good.
Was the cup filled with pee, or just packed with brownies?
Did he make the urine sample cup into a bong?

Ok. I just thought of some really inappropriate ones. I see why you stopped.

I wish we had more to look forward to in this draft. I’m really finding it hard to get excited about the draft without the promise of player trades and post-draft mini-camps. It’s not the same without it.

    @JasonE

Allegedly it is much more than just dope unless cleansing teas can cover up abortions.

    …………

Geoff Mosher is on DelawareOnline.com reporting that “he expects the Eagles to go after Nnamdi hard” and “wouldn’t be surprised if a deal was already done”.

    +1 to what andrew said!

Will the draft post be up in time to check out some tape of your favourite guys Tommy? Its really nice to get a real view of the prospects you talk about. For instance I watched some tape of Jabaal Sheard, my favourite DE tape after Quinn and Kerrigan easily.
