Vegas is giving us 9 points?  That makes me nervous.  Let’s hope we play like they think we will.

I would like to see this be the game where the Eagles kick the whole “playing up or playing down” to their opponents level. On paper this is a blowout… but there is a reason football games aren’t played on paper.

    Great start by the defense.

  3. 3 Mac said at 5:15 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Is the hard count a new dimension to Vick’s game? I don’t remember seeing him do it this effectively before.

  4. 4 Anonymous said at 5:18 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Didn’t believe those websites that said Steve Smith is still getting paid by billionaire Giants fans.

  5. 5 Anonymous said at 5:18 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I loved the way the offense moved the ball, but you can’t have turnovers in scoring territory. That will pump up the Giants confidence.

  6. 6 Anonymous said at 5:18 PM on September 25th, 2011:

OK – that’s already as many hits as I want to see 7 take today.

  7. 7 Mac said at 5:20 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Good tackles by Page and Asante.

  8. 8 Mac said at 5:20 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Good tackles by Page and Asante.

  9. 9 the guy said at 5:21 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Man I hope this isn’t going to be another game where a short field or turnover guarantees a TD on the Eagles D.

  10. 10 Mac said at 5:21 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Ok so how was that not a holding call? Trent Cole got spun around and thrown down to the ground…

  11. 11 Eric Weaver said at 5:22 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I think Steve Smith joined the Eagles in order to sabotage the team.

  12. 12 Jak FTW said at 5:23 PM on September 25th, 2011:

So… are we in for a long day, or are we just letting them get up a lead so we can crush their spirit again?

  13. 13 Anonymous said at 5:25 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Brutal start. RZ turnover. Give up big play to Jacobs in the passing game. The Giants can win this game if we help them. That’s happening so far.

  14. 14 Jon Blank said at 5:23 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I guess the Giants weren’t injured enough for Juan’s defense to dominate.

  15. 15 Anonymous said at 5:24 PM on September 25th, 2011:

If it wasn’t so clear before, it certainly is now: Casey Matthews, #1 whipping boy this year.

  16. 16 Christopher Miller said at 5:27 PM on September 25th, 2011:

maybe this is Juan’s way of lobbying for a high pick at LB next year?

  17. 17 Anonymous said at 5:30 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Best conspiracy theory I’ve heard so far.

  18. 18 Eric Weaver said at 5:28 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Why are they worried about the freaking wildcat again? Get rid of that. Especially at your own 25.

  19. 19 Zachary said at 5:29 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Why do we gotta get so fancy so early. No need to run “trick” plays when we were marching down the field on them.

  20. 20 Eric Weaver said at 5:29 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Tommy,

Chicks dig the deep ball and this team hasn’t really tried any of those this year. What’s going on there?

  21. 21 Zachary said at 5:33 PM on September 25th, 2011:

We kind of look like shit – I hope the defense can make a play here sooner or later

  22. 22 Eric Weaver said at 5:33 PM on September 25th, 2011:

It’s still early, but I don’t think Andy got this team ready at all.

  23. 23 Mac said at 5:38 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I’m glad we could be there for Victor Cruz’s first NFL touchdown.

  24. 24 the guy said at 5:36 PM on September 25th, 2011:

You can talk about the offense not being in sync so far, but what’s new about that?

They haven’t looked 100% at all this year, preseason or first 2 games.

  25. 25 Anonymous said at 5:37 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Not pretty

  27. 27 Jon Blank said at 5:37 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Nice tackle Coleman. Is it too early to fire Castillo?

  29. 29 Zachary said at 5:37 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Unprepared isn’t enough to describe this start. The areas of concerns are showing up in bunches through the 1st quarter

  30. 30 Anonymous said at 5:39 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Unprepared? No. Making dumb mistakes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

  31. 31 Eric Weaver said at 5:38 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Change the players and the coach. Same result.

  32. 32 Jon Blank said at 5:39 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I’m starting to think that the Eagles have a ton of talent but not a very good football team.

  33. 33 Zachary said at 5:39 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I still wish someone could explain to me the point of loading up…while somewhat ignoring:
All 3 LB spots, both safety spots, RT and going in with 2 rookies.

How did I let myself believe we had the talent to compete. We have huge glaring issues. and Coleman & Matthews are showing up so far..

  34. 34 Daniel Suraci said at 5:40 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Two complete failures on an individual level – Coleman and Matthews. Not much on the coaches there.

  35. 35 Jon Blank said at 5:43 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Gilbride is schooling Castillo with his playcalling right now despite a good portion of his weapons injured. Castillo looks in over his head, still.

  36. 36 J.B. Anderson said at 5:40 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Care to comment Tommy?

  37. 37 Mac said at 5:41 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Is there any chance we can get Jeff Fisher back in here?

  38. 38 Scott Buchanan said at 5:42 PM on September 25th, 2011:

What happens when you turn an average Oline coach into your Dcoordinator?

  39. 39 Anonymous said at 5:42 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I like the optimism in here

  40. 40 Septhinox said at 5:43 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Tommy, your boy Coleman is garbage.

  41. 41 Anonymous said at 5:44 PM on September 25th, 2011:

We just need to settle down and go score a TD. The defense will feed off the offense having some success. Right now the whole team seems off.

  42. 42 Jon Blank said at 5:44 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I wonder how long Andy will keep Castillo employed and Mathews starting in order to save face?

  43. 43 Jak FTW said at 5:48 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Is today upside down day? Giants big play offense… Philly ball control offense.

  44. 44 Eric Weaver said at 5:49 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Andy running like this to settle the team down.

  45. 45 Zachary said at 5:50 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I love that we just hired Coach Chin – no way Andy called this many rushes…and I love it

  46. 46 Eric Weaver said at 5:52 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Celek was wide open.

  47. 47 Zachary said at 5:53 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Vick doesn’t look right. The team is playing like shit. And of corse Andy goes away from LeSean after he walks us down the field. F’n fast bastard

  48. 48 Eric Weaver said at 5:55 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Huh? He ran him inside and then tried an inside pass to him on the second play.

  49. 49 the guy said at 5:54 PM on September 25th, 2011:

The Giants are playing like the Eagles and the Eagles are playing like the Giants.

  50. 50 Anonymous said at 5:57 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Sad but true.

  51. 51 Daniel Suraci said at 5:54 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Why get a power running back (Brown) if you don’t use him when you have 1st and goal at the 3?

  52. 52 the guy said at 6:04 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Brown hasn’t been playing like a power RB, he’s been dancing around like McCoy without the speed.

  53. 53 Mac said at 5:55 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Yes! Three points for my fantasy team… (ugh)

  54. 54 Jon Blank said at 5:59 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Ohh look, Juan outfoxed by Gilbride. Again.

  55. 55 Zachary said at 6:00 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Our Safeties suck. Page & Allen failed to bring Bradshaw down. To go along with the great tackles of Kurt Coleman.

  56. 56 Zachary said at 6:01 PM on September 25th, 2011:

They’ll pick this up. We never stop teams in these situations.

  57. 57 Eric Weaver said at 6:01 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Honestly, Tommy. I’m a positive person, but geez. Different players, different coach. Same results. Can’t get off the field on 3rd downs.

  58. 58 Zachary said at 6:02 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Wow blind dumb luck for the stop!

  59. 59 Anonymous said at 6:03 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Luck never hurt anyone. Take anything you can get.

  60. 60 Zachary said at 6:05 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Vick looks tentative as shit. I mean I understand he’s hurting, but if you take away his legs you take away what made him special

  61. 61 Mac said at 6:09 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I think so far today McCoy is winning his twitter battle.

  62. 62 Eric Weaver said at 6:10 PM on September 25th, 2011:

No matter the receivers or running backs… the team is still bad in the red zone.

  63. 63 Anonymous said at 6:14 PM on September 25th, 2011:

    Shady makes you look bad

  64. 64 the guy said at 6:13 PM on September 25th, 2011:

I expected the Eagles D to struggle, at least at first, but will someone explain what is going on with the offense?

  65. 65 the guy said at 6:14 PM on September 25th, 2011:

BTW- I don’t just mean this game.

  66. 66 Eric Weaver said at 6:22 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Not smart by Avant there. GET OUT OF BOUNDS!

  67. 67 Jon Blank said at 6:28 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Nice job Henerey. Terrible job Marty, Andy and the offense. We look so poorly coached.

  68. 68 Anonymous said at 6:30 PM on September 25th, 2011:

That’s one way to test your rookie kicker

  69. 69 Steve H said at 6:32 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Even if we win this game, ugh…………. we even almost botched the FG at the end there, how do you not know its 4th down if you’re the quarterback? Our situational awareness is just… ugh…

  70. 70 Septhinox said at 6:37 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Yea, the teams awareness is horrible.

  71. 71 Steve H said at 6:34 PM on September 25th, 2011:

At least shady is running well. Dudes a beast no doubt.

  72. 72 Septhinox said at 6:37 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Todd is really struggling today huh?

  73. 73 Anonymous said at 6:39 PM on September 25th, 2011:

Should Vick be in there? He has taken some shots and didn’t seem to be aware that he is not on the field goal team…

baffling how we seem to start so sloppy in every single game…we won’t be able to get away with that against the elite teams.

I predict “fundamentals” and “gap responsibility” coming up again in Juan’s PC this week.

boy with how poorly the defense has played, it’s just tough to get excited about this team right now. They haven’t (and don’t) been capable of looking competent against quality opponents…
