Lance Briggs is playing 5 positions . . . at the same time.
That’s why LBs matter.

So your argument is that Trent Cole and Jason Babin are bad at rushing the passer.
214 Anonymous said at 12:05 AM on November 8th, 2011:
How do you get that from that?
The defense is atrocious. That’s pretty obvious. They performed worse at rushing the passer than any other team that has played Chicago this year. That’s a fact.
Maybe it’s because the scheme is utter shit, or the LBs are so bad they can do a lot of quick passes and running plays, or Nnamdi and DRC are such awful excuses for CBs that Cutler didn’t need to hold the ball.
But this defense SUCKS, despite the coming tsunami of “Chicago just played us tough!” and “Great work from their OL” bullshit stories.
215the guy said at 12:09 AM on November 8th, 2011:

Never getting any pressure on the opposing QB, when he plays behind a terrible offensive line, is a sign of a bad defense. You can disagree, but you can’t change the fact that it’s true.
217the guy said at 12:27 AM on November 8th, 2011:
The defense helped the offense with turnovers and a TD. The offense and ST did not help the defense.
In your mind, does the Eagles offense have more or less talent or coaching experience than the defense?
218Jon Blank said at 12:12 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Gave up 30 points, didn’t lay a finger on Cutler, couldn’t stop the run and the secondary got torched. Offense definitely came up small in the 4th, but the defense blew another lead and came up small in crunch time.
219the guy said at 12:19 AM on November 8th, 2011:
10 of those 30 points came on drives under 20 yards. Another 10 came on drives around 50-55 yards.
I’m not going to claim the defense played well (DRC and the pass rush was terrible). But again, I can understand why.
220Jon Blank said at 11:54 PM on November 7th, 2011:
The reality is that this team is a bunch of losers coached by a loser. Nobody can make a play when it counts.

Did we get a single pass to Avant the entire game?

he had a great sideline catch

The Bears’ defensive players are bigger and more physical than the Eagles.
Can we stop picking undersized players on defense?

Good way to earn your big pay day DeSean.

And that’s likely the season.

Half way through the season, and we’re on pace to be a 6-10 team. 4th blown 4th quarter lead this year

Ever heard this….I have to put the players in position to make plays. Well see how it goes next week….times yours

Glad I stayed up to watch this loss. I’ll go to bed short on sleep and wake up miserable for work tomorrow, while the Eagles will be out in Old City tonight crushing 10s.
231 Anonymous said at 11:57 PM on November 7th, 2011:
Another shocking BLOWN 4th quarter lead with NO points scored.
Yes, Juan’s in over his head.
But what about Marty and his vaunted plastic play card?
The problem starts and ends with Reid.
PS – JOE FRAZIER . . . you’ll be missed

Diagnosis? Crappy team!

Honestly, I don’t feel like any of the Eagles receivers are worth big contracts. Not a clutch receiver among them.

Go for the high draft pick now!!! Three behind the giants. They r done. Thanks Desean for your cute PR. That was the game.
237Thorin McGee said at 12:01 AM on November 8th, 2011:
I said we’d know more about this team aftert this game, and I feel like we do, a lot more.
1. Our high priced cornerbacks are not taking football seriously. Every Bears highlight in the first half had one of our cornerbacks jogging after the play, slapping his hands and whining for a call, looking for the refs to do the job for them. Asomaugh has to interfere in press man in a critical situation? Asante wants no part of high-pressure coverage in the end zone? I’m fine with the laughing and smiling after you make a play, but they aren’t playing hard during the plays. They’re acting liek their shit doesn’t stink and the problem with the D is everyone else. Wrong; it’s them. The CBs are the most underachieving unit on this team, and they’re rotting the D from the inside.
2. Maclin is a god damn choke artist! Fumbles, drops, slips. He’s our best WR, but how many games has he had a chance to save on the last play only to blow it? Come on, man!
3. DeSean Jackson is nowhere to be seen. He’s never getting open downfield anymore. I don’t care how they’re covering him. He’s disappearing.
4. We got beat one-on-one everywhere on the field tonight. The only guy who could win a one-on-one battle tonight was LeSean. There’s no where we lock people down. Our receivers aren’t getting open in man coverage, our secondary ain’t covering in man coverage, our D-Line didn’t get pressure one-on-one, our O-line couldn’t stop the Bear’s d-line one-on-one. We’re not winning anything. The only thing that’s working is the running game, and that only works until the D decides to stop it.
I’m most dissappointed in our cornerbacks, though. The Bears had guys running around all night. That’s not the GSoT Rams out there, they’re second-rate receivers, and we still couldn’t shut the passing game down. What a waste!
238the guy said at 12:06 AM on November 8th, 2011:
The Eagles offense scored 2 TDs, one off a turnover, and you’re upset with the corners?
239Thorin McGee said at 12:12 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Yes! The Chicago bears with Roy Williams ripped them apart. Yes, I’m ashamed of that effort we saw from the CBs. They were bad from the first quarter through to the last.
At least the Offense was playing the Chicago Bears D, you know they’re not going to score much. When the Bears O needed to move the ball on us, it wasn’t even difficult, they just marched down the field.
240Thorin McGee said at 12:13 AM on November 8th, 2011:
And did you see how often guys were running to thier spots and waiting, just catching the runners instead of moving up and tackling? You have to move through the spot and make the tackl,. When your feet stop, your going to get run over or around, and they did.
241 Anonymous said at 12:06 AM on November 8th, 2011:
True..we know lots more about this team…they suck. If we lose every game from here out…it is possible….then we get a decent draft pick. Anyone take 3 to 1 odds that we draft a straight bust or project in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds
242 Anonymous said at 12:02 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Desean running backward, and fake punt call were the killers. Oh, and the crappy defense. And offense. And the playcalling.
243Steve H said at 12:02 AM on November 8th, 2011:
This team has played like a team that expected to be handed the playoff berth the whole year, save the last couple weeks versus dallas and washington. The moment we got a convincing and important win, they reverted right back to the sloppy, undisciplined, tepid and listless football we saw all through the start of the year.
Imo this isn’t a talent issue, and is only a coaching issue insofar as they have not impressed the urgency of the situation sufficiently on the players.
Those two games against the Redskins and Cowboys were flukes. The truth is that Juan Castillo’s defense blooooowwwws.
Jeff Lurie could have saved himself alot of money – keep McDermott and Dimitri Patterson and achieve the same result – make Jay Cutler look like Joe Montana!

Arizona @ NYG New England @ Seattle (4 days after New England) @ Miami NYJ @ Dallas Washington
If we were an average team I’d say, “Great!” But we’re not.
I predict 3-5 to finish out… a 6-10 season. Insane.
246Corry Henry said at 12:10 AM on November 8th, 2011:
I think they can beat Arizona, but the rest of the games are toss ups. Seattle is a long way away form Philly and Miami is competitive in all their games. The Gmen are just a better team. New England will probably get their shit together by the time we get to them. Covered Miami. NYJ can run the football now. Dallas will want revenge. Washington might actually be a win too…
247 Anonymous said at 12:16 AM on November 8th, 2011:
I can see us going 5-3 and maybe an outside chance of 6-2, but with the Giants at 6-2 right now, I don’t think that gets us into the playoffs. And personally, I know Tommy hates discussing it, but if the Eagles don’t make the playoffs, ARs job should be on the line. The way I see it, you keep AR around because he gets you into the playoffs which gives you a chance to win the superbowl. If he fails to do that, after 13 years of no superbowl wins, you have to move on.
248 Anonymous said at 12:08 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Is Henry capable of throwing the ball 30 yards to a wide open guy?
249Jon Blank said at 12:09 AM on November 8th, 2011:
These idiots are done. Just way too sloppy in a must win game and an inexcusable 4th quarter. After tonight, I might be ok with another 1st round pick spent on a wide receiver.
250 Anonymous said at 12:16 AM on November 8th, 2011:
But we would get cute and draft a safety with a 3 rd grade, then move him to WR…The front office would say how much of a steal hew was…just like Teo’neshim…..
251 Anonymous said at 12:18 AM on November 8th, 2011:
They’re moving Teo’neshim to WR?! It’s about time, he looks great in practice and is so talented.
252 Anonymous said at 12:13 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Making the same mistakes over and over tells me this……either the coaches are providing the proper discipline and motivation to correct the mistakes OR the players aren’t listening. Either way is a failure of leadership?
Am I wrong? The eagles prove me right each week. Tune in next week and you’ll see the same mistakes…….a god dammed 8 yd route when you need 10….that’s. Pop Warner mistake. It really is
253 Anonymous said at 12:19 AM on November 8th, 2011:
So we gave up 164 on the ground tonight…..just like old times
254 Rob Cabacungan said at 12:35 AM on November 8th, 2011:
Couple observations:
1. Don’t recall Trent Cole ever missing so many tackles. 2. Constantly saw our DL tripping and falling on their rush. I’m sure we could have had at least one gimme sack with all of Chicago’s broken plays, if not for our guys always falling down. 3. Desean took a big step backward. If the ball hits you in the hands, you catch it or you’re not a good NFL receiver. 4. Make the 3-step drop a permanent part of the offense. Please.
A bad flash back to the start of the year, but I do think the defense has progressed.
…can we suit up Simmons and Joyner? That’s not against the rules right?
Celek with the juke. Nice
Celek with the drop. Not nice
i may be biased but he was definitely early and bear hugged Maclin. Is that just too close to call for the refs?
Okay . . . the running game is done for the night.
What McCoy have, 5 carries.
In a 7 point game w/ 30 minutes left.
McCoy is a hero, but we just don’t have it in us to win this game. Bears have our number.
Lance Briggs is playing 5 positions . . . at the same time.
That’s why LBs matter.
Absolutely gotta score here. We need to get over our redzone problems.
McCoy is basically Spider-Man in cleats.
Wow, McCoy. Just wow
The Bears play defense like they have 20 guys on the field. There are 2 guys on every receiver and 8 in the box
Not a fan of that call. Fake handoff to Brown (taking McCoy off the field) and then running to that side of the field with only 2 options on that side of the field.
I’ll take that run though.
Now all we need is our defense to …
Never mind.
Ronnie Brown!!!
damn fantasy football…lol
Glad to see him having some success. Good guy.
TOMMY:
You okay?
Let’s go defense.
I wondering if the discussion in the coming years will include whether LeSean is the best Eagle we have seen play.
Well tying a record held by Van Buren is not to shabby
The coverage unit has been doing a great job tonight.
Has Henery lost his leg?
Or is Bobby April a genius to have these kickoffs just short enough that they’re actually covered better than if Henery kicked deeper?
Has April solved the 2011 kickoff puzzle?
It’s by design
The REF was STANDING RIGHT THERE.
WHAT THE FU. . . .
Maybe he thought if he was demonstrative no one would look at a replay?
Wait, we just forced 2 fumbles?! Extend Castillo!!
Hate to say it – I feel like that second replay angle – his knee might have been down.
Well watching it again – I’m dead wrong
Hell yeah!
Get 7, start making them play catch up!
I feel like Gruden hasn’t watched a Eagles game all year. He’s made some coments about the Eagles I just can’t fathom.
MCCOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McCoy is scary good! As they say in Madden, “Get that man a new contract!”
Jason Peters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is it that the delay draw play works so well and still nobody has found a way to stop it?
Jason Peters may be faster than McCoy . . . .
The guy is amazing.
If the Eagles were 6-2 Shady would be receiving MVP votes!
I think outside of Rodgers, who is the hands down favorite for MVP without any competition really, McCoy is definitely one of the best offensive players if not NFL players in the league right now.
Did the camera have a closeup of Shady manhandling his junk as Jon Gruden said “LeSean McCoy is really showing his stuff…”? Ahhh, Gruden is just a big ball of unintentional comedy.
Westbrook 2.0
Ok, if in fact kicking the ball short is part of the game plan, we need to do this every single week. Our kick off coverage has been absolutely amazing.
Time to close the door.
So how ’bout we pay McCoy?
There’s Tommy’s other son.
If we forced these dicks off the field on 3rd down, it’d be a blow out. 50% of their first downs – came on 3rd down
Good God, where is the defense?
DRC has been terrible tonite.
Cant get off the field on 3rd down
Have we even hit Cutler yet, other than the Babin push?
Couple of taps. CHI is doing good job of protecting.
C’mon defense, now is not the time to sag.
Why does frigging Cutler always play great against us?!
Not getting pressure from the front four tonight. Need to adjust–twists, blitz, whatever.
Alright guys, time to win a close game finally!!
Make a stop defense!
I’m really tired of listening to Gruden.
I can’t stand him tonight. He’s usually mediocre, but tonight he’s terrible. Apparently every single Bears player is one of the greatest players in the history of the league.
“Whoever that guy is, he’s the best at what he’s doing.”
Where the hell is the PASS RUSH?!
Offense needs to keep the pressure on now. Bears are playing too well offensively to let them have the ball back now. What happened to their O-Line?–it was supposed to be a sieve. but they’re blocking very well tonight.
TE screen!!!!!
Just looking at his official photo…Robbie Gould is one ugly white dude
We’re up 4 heading into the 4th. Old Eagles would blow this. I’m hoping the new Eagles grow the lead and win by double digits.
Hmm… Good point Tommy. Just the kind of situation we typically blow.
Looks like we got our answer
We need a TD here. Our defense can’t stop the Bears so we have to keep the pressure on them. Make sure this remains a two score game. It’s our only hope.
Wow. Three and out is exactly what we did not need. We’re going to be down by three the next time we get the ball.
Just gave the Bears great field position too. We’ll be lucky to hold them to a field goal.
Please don’t tell me we are seeing another 4th quarter breakdown.
DeSean is playing like he wants a contract. I wonder what team he has in mind.
They look like the fuckin’ keystone cops out there.
Why can we never get Jay Cutler down. I feel like this is every year.
Convert on a 1st and 20… in 2 downs. Apparently we’re just not covering Bennet tonight. All those stories about Namdi finally ‘getting it’ seem to have been premature.
Are we really keeping DRC over Asante?!
are either of them playing even reasonably well? (though DRC is the softest football player I’ve ever seen)
This is ridiculous. Just absolutely ridiculous.
Touchdown Bears. Eagles down by three.
Pretty much.
How is that roughing
Here comes the typical 4th qtr bust…..wait for it, wait for it
And there it is.
The thing that’s so infuriating is that every year we’re better than the Bears. We’re so much more talented than they are and they always beat us. Because we play sloppy and they play clutch.
I can’t believe Cutler FELL DOWN, and the we had three Eagle Defenders tackle each other to let him escape.
This defense is New England bad
Goddammit! FUCK YOU JAY CUTLER! FUCK YOU!!
Nnamdi is a phony..give us back our 16 mil
Add DRC and Asante to that. Cutler’s making us look stupid
This team is going to cause me to die young.
Guys, I know some of u may pile on our pass defense, but before u do keep in mind that this isn’t just any old offense, this is the 27th ranked passing offense. okay?!
Dude, Cutler is using voodoo on us. Has to be.
Is it just me or is their o line getting away with a hold every play?
Ahhhh I can’t stand his bratty little face. He somehow turns into Dan Marino against us!
It’s bloody 4.30am in the morning and if the Eagles blow this game I will take the next flight to Philly and kick Castillo in the nuts!!!
Nothing is ever easy vs the Bears. Jay Cutler is friggin’ Satan. I hope to never play him again.
There’s 12 minutes left to go, but I feel like the game is over. Their making all the right plays and we’re busy tripping ourselves…
And to add insult to injury, I get to listen to Gruden tell me just how awesome Cutler is.
The Eagles are not a good team.
Mike Martz v. Juan. Aargh.
Eating him alive
Here comes the old eagles…..so really, are we better than last years team?
Anyone wanna make a prediciton of how this team will finish this game? This gonna be a quarter we play or a quarter we don’t….Right now i’m leaning towards, Bears win, Eagles season over. Giants run away with the division.
Bears win… I hate the Bears. Ever since the fog bowl I hate the bears.
Why the hell can’t the offense function against a Cover 2? Exactly how much smarter is Lovie than Marty? This is as much the offenses fault as the defenses. What LB do we draft with AZs pick?
DRC should be ashamed… what a lack of effort. And I thought we hosed AZ in that deal.
Asante why play 5 yards off in the endzone? WHY? You are no longer my friend.
Nnamdi please return your bonus.
The kingdom for a DC and a linebacker…. Maybe Buddy should have called that game.
Has Deon Lewis ever made it past the 20?
Does Earl Bennet have some kind of force field that prevents our defenders from getting within 5 yards of him at all times?
This D still looks like crap, especially in the 4th.
Too light in the DL, LBs that are MIA, mystifying DB play and a DC playing out of position.
Not good.
Time for them to show some character and retake the lead
Actually, I’m a jerk. Gruden/Jaws have reminded up many times tonight that the Bears did just get back the Great Earl Bennett.
Kelce look awesome on that screen
Guys try muting your tv and watching the game…so much better. These announcers are fucking awful
I’m begging for Jon Gruden to get back into coaching.
Honestly, DRC has been horrible this year. And so far Nmandi a huge disappointment.
Bears win 35-24…calling it a night. And a season
OMG are you kidding me?
Hahahahahahahahahahaba
…And that’s the game.
that was it…and the jackasses couldn’t even show it live
Oh my God.
We’re just not that good. Way too many mistakes, way too many weaknesses.
And then a stupid, incompetent pass by the punter. Sheesh.
But wait…..what the fuck pathetic try was that? Seriousy?
I’ve said it many times, but I can’t do it. But really I should go to bed. This isn’t going to end well. Maybe Tommy’s son can get us another TD, but I have 0 confidence again, per the usual.
What kind of throw was that Henry. Wow he was wide open
Seriously? We faked that with a shit throw from a punter. Thats game
Well, we found a less accurate UF passer than Tim Tebow.
I hate my life.
Ex-e-cu-tion bum bum bum-bum-bum
Ex-e-cu-tion…
Trying to run for it, one thing.
Throwing a pass, quite another.
That may have been the pass that kills the season.
You think we could get a 5th rd pick for a package of DRC and Nmandi?
I think I’ve seen this movie before. This is where the other team’s stud RB (Bradshaw, Jackson, Gore, Turner) gashes us in the 4th qtr and makes us look like a high school defense.
At least we can get a jump on the draft talk.
Pissing the season away.
Any team give up more fucking long first downs than us?
And watch the bears run for one more score because we can’t stop them
There’s obviously a problem with the Eagles run defense on Babin’s side.
The Cowboys, Bills, Bears, 49ers . . .
A joke over there.
The defense is a JOKE.
We’re seeing the real Eagles.
And that means the Cowboys suck too
Forte should charge Jarrett for that ride.
This is gross. So much for the turn around. Season finish – anyone buying we’re going 7-1 down the strech. Fucking team.
Jarrett gets dragged by Forte for 5. Gotta love our physical, enforcer, 190 lb safety pretending to be considine
Same story again and again……is this over yet? Can’t wait to draft a stud LB…in the 7th round
Sh*t the Bears offense has our defense right where they want them…any 3rd down situation.
3rd down = First down. Fuck
3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5. What you got for me now Tommy? Hope? Draft Picks gonna be decent next year…
Roy clutch Williams with an excellent grab
F this team. They screwed themselves when they decided to shit the bed and not care for the 1st half of the year.
gonna 3-4 min left when we get the ball back -hopefully, down just 6
Better to find out now that Juan was just lucky the last couple of weeks than fooled into giving him another year.
Best thing I’ve heard all night…please share your wisdom
Someone put that dog DRC down!!! Note to self: When the 2-6 Cards give up on a guy, try and avoid acquiring him.
3 and 11…..here comes cutler with a clutch play
got to hold them to 3 then long td drive to win…cannot give up now!
Better score that TD with 10 seconds or less left, otherwise the defense will blow it.
This just in guys. Gruden tells us that Hester’s injury hurts the bears. Thank goodness he was in the booth to tell us this.
I’m sure we won’t need that timeout later….
How are they gonna pick up this 3rd down ? Blown coverage by Asante? Asomugha? Cromartie? Hanson? Rolle?
Asomugha PI
Okay, a lot of negativity going on here dudes. Let me be one of the few to say… GO EAGLES. This game is not over yet. Never surrender, mofos.
HONESTLY, HOW THE HELL DO PROFESSIONALS PAY THIS BUM 12 MILL?
I don’t get paid 12 million a ye–… oh wait, nevermind.
Jarrett…the eagles like him for his physical presence and his hitting skills…HAHAHAHA
PI – 1st down hahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha – this team is a fucking joke
Fucking joke.
Nnamdi…keep earning that paycheck….again 35-24 bears
Can we fire Juan and cut half the defense now?
Glad I stayed up for this embarassing loss.
So Chicago is soon to be 4 of 4 in the red zone.
Hmmmmm
But the problem was McDermott. Don’t forget
Logic error…Juan not being up to task does not mean Sean was
asante giving a big cushion to bennett again at the goal line
Eskin for HC!
HUGE 3RD DOWN HERE!
TOUCHDOWN BEARS!
Thank god for small mercies.
Why use a timeout there? Now they are gonna call a pass and score a TD. Just wants me to suffer more and stay up. 5 AM to 12AM to 5AM – 5 hours of sleep for this piece of shit, this group of losers. These fucks.
How terribly small have the Eagles been in the 4th quarter? Biggest game of their season and they play this poorly. Ugh.
I wasn’t being sarcastic in my assessment. Nnamdi DPI or not, the negativity here is discouraging. I’m not giving up until the clock hits trip-zeros.
How many freakin points have the Refs given to the Bears… by my count its 17… GRRR!!!
I am with you…it is a one score game
now long drive!!! do it!
I’m praying for a miracle here, but wow is Nnamdi not what we expected. Well on his way to being the biggest FA bust in Eagles history.
Let’s hope DeSean does something to earn a big contract.
Nnamdi is mega bust
Alright Vick and Co. 1 drive for the season. And you have to time it so you score with as little time as possible left so Juan and Co. can’t blow it.
I want to show off to my girlfriend. Anyone on here have a connection to set up a flag football game with either Nnamdi or DRC to cover me?
This was Donnie Mac’s specialty . . . never winning games on the last drive.
And I loved D-Mac. But he just couldn’t get it done.
Lets see what Vick can do.
Here’s the season folks.
Gurden has to be mailing it in. Mike Vick and Andy Reid at their most dangerous in the 4th quarter when behind? hahaha. Seriously this guy is paid to talk?
Dion Lewis let’s get a nice 3 or 4 yd return here baby!
Yessss, I still got it.
Please Dear God don’t let us get into the RZ. We need a score.
I’m not saying we’re good in the red zone – but passing, we got no shot at a deep pass. Have we had one all year?
I swear Vick averages 2 dropped INTs per game.
Anyone confident we’ll pull this off?
Good God I just posted the last 7 posts in a row! Goodnight.
That near-INT was scary. My name is Tim Jennings. If Tim Jennings had made that game-sealing pick, I likely would’ve been forced to punch myself to death.
Come on Birds. This is NOT over. We can DO THIS!
come on!
Been a short season Folks. Perfect way to end the game. Another fuckup.
Wow. That is soul crushing. No other words.
Game over.
You couldn’t script that any better (/s)
and that’s the season. Tubby blows another one. Maybe 14 is lucky. 🙁
Wow just wow you fall down running on 4th and 10. Sums up our Season
How many games has this been where Maclin came up short? 3?
Drop against the Falcons
Fumble against the 49ers
Gets 8 when we need 10?
I’m glad I just wasted the past 3 hrs of my life…at least I got to see a punter throw a pass
I feel like this is the closest I’ve come to not wanting to watch next week. Even Mike McMahon starting I watched. I don’t want to waste my time with this group of over paid losers.
I have tickets for next week’s game. I don’t even really want to go. Meaningless football in early November. Yay.
I’m tired of excuses and analysis. This team sucks.
We fucked this one up like clockwork….seems like old times
I’m back. That is 3 times now that Jeremy Maclin has come up very very small at the end of a game we lost. I don’t care that he had to reach for the ball. Very very very small.
Wait…he has only cost us 2 games this yr….he has plenty of tries to blow a few more
No remember he dropped that pass against ATL to end the game, he had that crucial fumble to end a game (can’t remember which one). May have been same game as Avant, and now this falling down bc he had to stretch for a pass. Dammit all to hell!
This season is now officially worst case scenario. They don’t suck enough for us to get good draft picks, and they have no hope of making the playoffs.
Just blow up the damn team.
this was a situation where I wish our D played a little more like Chi
Morton, get your a$$ on this message board. I’m pissed and misery loves company!
Good thing we have “explosive” DeSean Jackson….oh wait he sucks this year too.
Maclin . . . you just had to know he’d be the guy who got the ball and didn’t deliver.
Is there anything he hasn’t done yet to come up short in crunch time?
Drop.
Fumble.
Falls down.
All that’s left is letting he be the QB to throw an INT.
_____________
This team, from the front office down, needs to be blown up.
8-8 or 7-9 or 9-7 won’t cut it.
________________
What we saw tonight was Reid reaping the harvest of choosing Juan Castillo.
WHAT THE HELL WAS ANYONE THINKING IN THE FRONT OFFICE?!?!
Trade or giveaway the entire secondary. Then hire someone who can draft
Fire Juan
Really? You watched this game and thought to yourself the defense was the problem?
I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but they didn’t sack JAY CUTLER! I look forward to hearing about how “Chicago played great” and “Cutler always gives us problems” but the truth is that any NFL defense that can’t get to Jay Cutler is atrocious.
So your argument is that Trent Cole and Jason Babin are bad at rushing the passer.
You need to look at the scores. The defense allowed 10 points on drives 60+ yards and scored a TD.
The offense scored 17 points, and 7 came after a turnover.
You need to look at the SCORE. Or Time of Possession. Or Yards. Or anything.
Never getting any pressure on the opposing QB, when he plays behind a terrible offensive line, is a sign of a bad defense. You can disagree, but you can’t change the fact that it’s true.
The defense helped the offense with turnovers and a TD. The offense and ST did not help the defense.
In your mind, does the Eagles offense have more or less talent or coaching experience than the defense?
Gave up 30 points, didn’t lay a finger on Cutler, couldn’t stop the run and the secondary got torched. Offense definitely came up small in the 4th, but the defense blew another lead and came up small in crunch time.
10 of those 30 points came on drives under 20 yards. Another 10 came on drives around 50-55 yards.
I’m not going to claim the defense played well (DRC and the pass rush was terrible). But again, I can understand why.
And how’d that O-line work tonight . . .
In crunch time?
Where’s ELI when you need him?
fitting end indeed
Good way to earn your big pay day DeSean.
Diaz is really in a contract yr….se. U later pal. Take nnamdi,DRC,….he’ll take the whole defense with you
And that’s likely the season.
F**K this team– this was embarrassing and a total waste of my evening.
Men….hate to say it, but I’m buying what Morton is preaching
Go for the high draft pick now!!! Three behind the giants. They r done. Thanks Desean for your cute PR. That was the game.
The Eagles offense scored 2 TDs, one off a turnover, and you’re upset with the corners?
And did you see how often guys were running to thier spots and waiting, just catching the runners instead of moving up and tackling? You have to move through the spot and make the tackl,. When your feet stop, your going to get run over or around, and they did.
True..we know lots more about this team…they suck. If we lose every game from here out…it is possible….then we get a decent draft pick. Anyone take 3 to 1 odds that we draft a straight bust or project in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds
Desean running backward, and fake punt call were the killers. Oh, and the crappy defense. And offense. And the playcalling.
G-A-R-B-A-G-E defense.
Arizona
@ NYG
New England
@ Seattle (4 days after New England)
@ Miami
NYJ
@ Dallas
Washington
If we were an average team I’d say, “Great!” But we’re not.
I predict 3-5 to finish out… a 6-10 season. Insane.
Washington might actually be a win too…
I can see us going 5-3 and maybe an outside chance of 6-2, but with the Giants at 6-2 right now, I don’t think that gets us into the playoffs.
Is Henry capable of throwing the ball 30 yards to a wide open guy?
These idiots are done. Just way too sloppy in a must win game and an inexcusable 4th quarter. After tonight, I might be ok with another 1st round pick spent on a wide receiver.
But we would get cute and draft a safety with a 3 rd grade, then move him to WR…The front office would say how much of a steal hew was…just like Teo’neshim…..
They’re moving Teo’neshim to WR?! It’s about time, he looks great in practice and is so talented.
It really is
So we gave up 164 on the ground tonight…..just like old times
Couple observations:
1. Don’t recall Trent Cole ever missing so many tackles.
2. Constantly saw our DL tripping and falling on their rush. I’m sure we could have had at least one gimme sack with all of Chicago’s broken plays, if not for our guys always falling down.
3. Desean took a big step backward. If the ball hits you in the hands, you catch it or you’re not a good NFL receiver.
4. Make the 3-step drop a permanent part of the offense. Please.
A bad flash back to the start of the year, but I do think the defense has progressed.
