  3. 3 Corry Henry said at 1:04 PM on September 16th, 2012:

We have 3 active running backs on the roster. Let’s let them do something other than hold the turf down.

  4. 4 Corry Henry said at 1:08 PM on September 16th, 2012:

If Vick can keep throwing like this, then by all means, throw all day.

    Dear Eagles Supporters,

Thank you for all your suggestions and constructive critiques. We have considered them all quite carefully and decided we are going to throw the ball.

    Here we go again…

  16. 16 TheRogerPodacter said at 1:12 PM on September 16th, 2012:

i gotta give them credit for moving the ball down the field so well, but the turnovers are going to kill us if they keep it up.

    awesome stuff!

  21. 21 TommyLawlor said at 1:18 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Landri drove the C back, meaning Flacco couldn’t step up in the pocket. Then Trent got the strip sack off the edge. Great teamwork.

    aaaaaaaaaaaaand here come the flags

  23. 23 DamonL86 said at 1:15 PM on September 16th, 2012:

  24. 24 Corry Henry said at 1:15 PM on September 16th, 2012:

McCoy is going to lead the league in good runs nullified by penalty.

  25. 25 TommyLawlor said at 1:17 PM on September 16th, 2012:

    Sadly, you might be right.

  26. 26 TommyLawlor said at 1:16 PM on September 16th, 2012:

  27. 27 TheRogerPodacter said at 1:18 PM on September 16th, 2012:

lol its amazing how many hits vick is taking. i think ive seen maybe 2 passes where he has not been hit… i hope that body armor is some good stuff

  28. 28 ACViking said at 1:18 PM on September 16th, 2012:

    A sad and scary thought.

  29. 29 Eric Weaver said at 1:19 PM on September 16th, 2012:

If we hit a QB like Vick was hit that’d be a roughing the passer penalty.

  30. 30 TheRogerPodacter said at 1:19 PM on September 16th, 2012:

holy crap. mccoy had to work for that 1 yard there

  31. 31 iskar36 said at 1:20 PM on September 16th, 2012:

We got the first but was that a wise decision to go for it?

  32. 32 aub32 said at 1:24 PM on September 16th, 2012:

if it works then it was the right and therefore wise decision

  33. 33 iskar36 said at 1:27 PM on September 16th, 2012:

I generally don’t view it that way. I think the decision and the execution are two separate things. We executed the play, but tht doesn’t make the decision wise.

  34. 34 ACViking said at 1:21 PM on September 16th, 2012:

    Love Mudd.

But his small, fast, athletic lines are tough to watch at the goal line — sometimes.

  35. 35 Corry Henry said at 1:23 PM on September 16th, 2012:

That blocking was horrendous, but McCoy is tough to stop on goal to go situations.

  36. 36 Corry Henry said at 1:23 PM on September 16th, 2012:

    Eddie Money looks terrible.

  37. 37 phillychuck said at 1:26 PM on September 16th, 2012:

  38. 38 TommyLawlor said at 1:27 PM on September 16th, 2012:

  44. 44 ACViking said at 1:32 PM on September 16th, 2012:

The Ravens just PUNCHED the Eagles’ defensive front 7 in the mouth.

Let’s see how the Eagles defense reacts to that.

  45. 45 iskar36 said at 1:34 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Yea, we got outmatched on that drive. Not good to see after a td but hopefully the d responds well on the next drive.

  50. 50 iskar36 said at 1:39 PM on September 16th, 2012:

That seems to be a new wrinkle in our offense. I don’t remember ever having the FB run this often.

  51. 51 nicolajNN said at 1:39 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Not sure this often, but Weaver did a fair bit of running and receiving

  52. 52 phillychuck said at 1:40 PM on September 16th, 2012:

    Sack on Vick . . . Eagles using man-to-man pass-blocking.

Saw that problem last week against the Browns — especially on Dunlap’s side.

I don’t know if Mudd teaches Zone pass-blocking concepts. But something needs to be done to protect the QB.

(1980 Super Bowl, the Raiders used zone pass blocking to completely shut down the Eagles pass rush. In the teams’ regular season game, won 10-7 by the Eagles, the Raiders used man-to-man pass blocking . . . and the Eagles had 8 sacks.)

  119. 119 ACViking said at 2:21 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Re: Eagles’ 3rd & 1 pass missed by McCoy

I thought it was a bad call because McCoy is MONEY on short yardage. Run the ball and keep the clock running. Low risk play.

Ohio State Coach Woody Hayes used to say 3 things can happen on a passing play and 2 of them are bad.

That’s why I thought it was a lousy call.

    Yes . . . execution was worse.

  120. 120 phillychuck said at 2:24 PM on September 16th, 2012:

How many NFL games did Woody Hayes win?

Honestly, that kind of analysis is really wrong. Four things can happen on a run play, and three of them are bad–fumble, penalty, loss of yardage.

  121. 121 iskar36 said at 2:25 PM on September 16th, 2012:

I prefer to run on 3rd and short, but in the context of a whole game, you have to make sure to keep the defense guessing. You can’t run on every 3rd and short.

  122. 122 ACViking said at 2:26 PM on September 16th, 2012:

  131. 131 Corry Henry said at 2:31 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Seriously, Philly has to lead the league in having career long field goals kicked against them.

  132. 132 TheRogerPodacter said at 2:33 PM on September 16th, 2012:

now we are down by 10 points, i dont think we will see much more running game today.

  133. 133 J. Brian Anderson said at 2:35 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Yeah this is pretty bad – it’s clear that Andy Reid et al can find talent what is not clear is that he can get them ready to play (gameplan aside) this team has looked VERY sloppy for 3 years. The offense is perennially ‘out-of-sync.’ How could you consider the Kolb-to-Vick transition anything other than a fluke?

  134. 134 DarthBanner said at 2:38 PM on September 16th, 2012:

Some terrible football being played by the Eagles so far in the the first 2 games. 8 turnovers already? just brutal

  135. 135 TheRogerPodacter said at 2:41 PM on September 16th, 2012:

looking at the replays of the first half… on the RZ INT, had the TE in the endzone (harbor?) come back to vick on the play, it was an easy TD. instead, he stayed near the back of the endzone.

  136. 136 dropscience said at 2:44 PM on September 16th, 2012:

I’m usually far more doom and gloom, but I don’t feel horrible about them “only” being down two scores after that mess of a half.
