Brent made the point that now one might start to worry about the Giants having a very high draft pick and drafting a very good player. Then again, one good player won’t fix the Giants.

I won’t cheer for them, but there is something to be said for hoping they finish 6-10 or something like that.

  3. 3 A_T_G said at 9:33 PM on October 10th, 2013:

    6-10 might win the division.

  4. 4 TommyLawlor said at 9:43 PM on October 10th, 2013:

    Shut up, Debbie Downer.

    We want Positive Pauline.

  5. 5 A_T_G said at 10:12 PM on October 10th, 2013:

If we can rip off 4 wins in our next 13 games we have a shot at the division crown. How’s that?

  6. 6 TommyLawlor said at 10:17 PM on October 10th, 2013:

I’m all ready printing the t-shirts.

    Eagles: 2013 Division Champs
Because somebody had to get it.

  8. 8 TommyLawlor said at 9:15 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Did I just hear Giants fans in the stadium?

  9. 9 Insomniac said at 9:21 PM on October 10th, 2013:

So uhh…who could we trade for Randle?

  10. 10 TommyLawlor said at 9:22 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Riley Cooper? Or is that too much to give up.

  11. 11 Jack Waggoner said at 11:54 PM on October 10th, 2013:

    Buy low on Nicks

  12. 12 Tumtum said at 9:30 PM on October 10th, 2013:

I would prefer they lose, but if they win I’ll take that too. Not only for the draft pick, but good god the East needs some street cred.

  13. 13 TommyLawlor said at 9:31 PM on October 10th, 2013:

When people make NFC Least jokes…we can’t say a word.

  14. 14 bdbd20 said at 9:41 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Not a big Cutler fan, but he sure is fun to watch when he’s on.

  15. 15 TommyLawlor said at 9:42 PM on October 10th, 2013:

So true. Good Cutler is special. Bad Cutler…is awful.

  16. 16 bdbd20 said at 9:48 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Wild to think that this guy is infinitely more successful than VY and Leinart.

  17. 17 Tumtum said at 10:10 PM on October 10th, 2013:

He wasn’t from that class was he? **edit** he sure was. Wow felt like he came out later.

  18. 18 anon said at 11:43 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Yeah took him a long time to come on, but good for him. Helps to have BMarsh to throw to all the time.

  19. 19 BlindChow said at 12:28 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Hopefully Bad Cutler will be back by Week 16…

  20. 20 anon said at 12:30 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Honestly this team didn’t scare me as much as i thought they would. This was a very winnable game for the giants without the turnovers. Though i guess you could have said that about the eagles game too. Bears look beatable. 13-3?

  21. 21 BlindChow said at 12:33 AM on October 11th, 2013:

The Bears defense was awful. Their soft zones left huge holes for receivers, and they missed a ton of tackles. It was like watching the Eagles last year. Guys just bouncing off other guys.

If it weren’t for that last interception, the Giants might have pulled this one out at the end!

  22. 22 Anders said at 12:34 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Bears pass rush isnt scary with Henery Melton and without a healthy Tillman, they are also limited in the back end.

  23. 23 anon said at 12:58 AM on October 11th, 2013:

kelly will tear apart a zone defense.

  24. 24 Anders said at 1:06 AM on October 11th, 2013:

    Yep.

  25. 25 Tumtum said at 10:09 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Anyone know why Gould and Hester had a little spat? Just curious.

  26. 26 BlindChow said at 12:27 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Bad kickoff. A line drive hopper, the Giants returner grabbed it, then had a 46 yard return. Hester was getting stuffed all night and was clearly pissed the Giants were outshining him at home.

  27. 27 Vick Must Go said at 11:35 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Draft notes: Good to pull for the giants if you think they could finish above the birds for obvious reasons. Good to pull for Bears if you think the giants will finish below the Eagles. The worse the NFC… the worse the Eagles strength of schedule, the better the Eagles tie breaker for draft

  28. 28 A Roy said at 11:41 PM on October 10th, 2013:

    Root for them next week.

  29. 29 anon said at 11:45 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Man what a way to lose. Almost feel bad for the G-Men, had cruz / alshon on my fantasy so not a great night.

  30. 30 Flyin said at 12:16 AM on October 11th, 2013:

That is why I don’t get involved in fantasy football. I focus on the Eagles and that is all I really care about regarding football.

  31. 31 A_T_G said at 1:15 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I just make a rule that I don’t take players from the other 3 NFCE teams.

  32. 32 anon said at 7:44 AM on October 11th, 2013:

that’s a good rule for this year.

  33. 33 Flyin said at 11:50 PM on October 10th, 2013:

Reid still has as many wins as the NFC East.

  34. 34 Eagles_Fan_in_San_Fran said at 11:54 PM on October 10th, 2013:

I was pulling for the A’s, but it was Groundhog Day – Verlander stifled them all night, a repeat of Game 5 from last year.
Oh, was there a football game worth watching tonight? (Rutgers-Louisville?)

  35. 35 Jack Waggoner said at 11:59 PM on October 10th, 2013:

I hear Bridgewater was good, not great

  36. 36 Flyin said at 12:02 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Watching Eli throw 3 INTs in a game is magical. He is now tied with Dan Fouts through 6 games. Please don’t but down a game that may have INTerrupted your night. Or let it INTerfere with your daily INTerests.

I had fun watching. INTeresting to me.

  37. 37 anon said at 12:21 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Hakeem Nicks could be on the chopping block, his contract year isn’t going so well.

  38. 38 BlindChow said at 12:24 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Would he be worth signing as a free agent?

  39. 39 Flyin said at 12:26 AM on October 11th, 2013:

At the right price. clique ?

  40. 40 Anders said at 12:36 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I like Nicks, but he is always NICKed up and he will demand way too much.

  41. 41 Jack Waggoner said at 2:36 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I think he’s a great fit, as far as skill set. Problem is a big contract is a major risk for a guy who does not seem to be giving maximum effort.

  42. 42 Mac said at 9:53 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I don’t want to think about that other recent Giants cast off WR that the Eagles acquired.

  43. 43 Flyin said at 12:24 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I don’t think that will happen.

  44. 44 anon said at 12:26 AM on October 11th, 2013:

they are bringing Reuben randle along. Feel like he hasn’t been great the last couple of years but he’s definitely better than riley cooper – better than maclin if he’s playing well.

  45. 45 Flyin said at 12:30 AM on October 11th, 2013:

    What’ the compensation?

  46. 46 anon said at 12:38 AM on October 11th, 2013:

if he’s coming off a 600yd year with 5tds, probably not much

  47. 47 Flyin said at 12:46 AM on October 11th, 2013:

I wish you are right…in the meantime, I am going to slam my head against the curb to knock away the kolbwebs.

  48. 48 Jack Waggoner said at 2:33 AM on October 11th, 2013:

The thing is he’s in the last year of a contract where he thinks he’s worth a lot more than the Giants do. And with the team being 0-6, they may prefer to ditch him and get what they can in terms of draft picks. But the more obvious customer for them is New England.

  49. 49 Anders said at 12:48 AM on October 11th, 2013:

Maybe some of the smart people here there followed the NFL longer than me.

Is it right that Jim Johnson was the DC that made the A gap blitz popular? I remember us doing it a lot with Trotter, but was there other teams there did it a lot before Jim Johnson? (sorta like the 4 DE, defensiveline in pass situation, made popular by Spags, but he got the idea from JJ and JJ stole it from the Saints DC Jim Haslett who had used Darren Howard that way)
Now just about every team in the NFL shows double A gap blitz on passing downs.

  50. 50 Jack Waggoner said at 2:22 AM on October 11th, 2013:

JJ’s signature was the double A gap blitz. He designed it to stop the West Coast Offense and first used it when he was with the Colts, who were able to upset the Packers when he used it extensively and successfully against Favre. Obviously that impressed Andy Reid who was with the Packers at the time.

  51. 51 Anders said at 3:04 AM on October 11th, 2013:

    Thanks for the info.

Even tho Jim Johnson does not always get enough credit from outsiders. He had some brilliant ideas and had a real impact on how defense is played now a days.
