I want to know if the Eagles
can keep Cruz in check again. They did in the first matchup with a lot
of double coverage which left Nicks in one-on-one most of the day where
he really took advantage.
Given how porous and crummy this pass defense is for the Eagles, they
have to pick their poison and basically decide to try to stop Cruz
again or stop Nicks. One of these guys is going to have a huge day I
bet (~125-150 yds receiving, 1 TD).
As long as the Eagles win the turnover battle, I am confident they will win today. Just need the ‘turnover machine’ version of Vick where he has 1-2 FF and 1-2 INT.

No we really don’t. The defense needs a lot of pieces yet, but I would like to see them try to bring in a physical receiver with that kind of talent. Mike Evens out of TAMU might be of interest.

No, the run defense is schematically sound and executed effectively. The pass defense isn’t good before the throw, but the eagles tackle well and force the offense to run another play.

Vick is a dumba$$ despite the incredible talent and you just can’t change that. Most frustrating Eagles’ QB to watch in a long, long time. Much more so than McNabb.

The thing is, we haven’t really been a “bend but don’t break” defense right now. Giants are just playing bad football. They are leaving points on the field. That last one for example would have been a TD if the receiver paid any attention at all to where the endzone ended.

Amazing how little respect defenses are giving the Eagles’ offense the last 2 weeks and their ability to make something happen offensively down the field beyond 10 yards.
Everybody on the Giants’ defense is playing up including Rolle a ton early.

Yeah he just ‘reports’ a lot of stuff as the sideline reporter but that is a really tough job. You can’t double-check sources and the reason they go to your in the first place is because they want something as it is happening.

I honestly think they’re having trouble matching up with the strength on the inside of the Giants Dline. Mathis, Kelce, and even Herremans are far more athletic than they are strong. I don’t think they can get the push.

I think having to draft a new oline is going to happen regardless. Looking at their ages, only Kelce and Johnson are under 30. I’m also not sure I trust the guys on the bench right now to step in and take a job in the coming years.

I do wonder if they didn’t have Kelce at center if they would be asking whoever was there to do a lot of pulling on run plays. He’s athletic enough to snap the ball and then get out there in front and lead around the edge. Is a Center that is strong enough to get a push in the middle going to be athletic enough to get up on the 2nd level and lead those pull plays? I think they’d have to pick a fairly high to get the combo of strength and athleticism.
