Gameday – at OAK

The Eagles play at 4pm. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of compelling 1pm games. I’m trying to take in the SD-WAS game. Want the Chargers to bury the Skins.

The Giants have the week off. Dallas plays Minnesota, which some may argue would be like having the week off. QB Josh Freeman is a healthy scratch for the Vikings. For those who thought the Eagles should have had some interest in him, it appears they were wise to stay away.

Check out this note on Dallas from ESPN. The Cowboys are the first team in NFL history to allow four 400-yard passers in a single season. And the Boys did this in just 8 games. That is astounding. Of course, it also hurts that Nick Foles was so awful against that pass defense. Still a major head-scratcher.

Mr Jimmy Bama has some Raiders talk to help you pass the time. Interesting to see how they rebuilt their defense in a year and are still playing at a high level. Does help that they have the same system and coaches.

Many of you still want to know about the H2H Show. Jimmy and I want to record. His schedule has been nuts recently, for personal and professional reasons. We’ll get the shows going as soon as we can. Major apologies for the delay.

I wrote a piece for BGN on the improved Eagles defense. Is it really improved or could this be a mirage?

It is always important to study what we see to find out what is real and what isn’t.

The new Wulf’s Den is out. Bo Wulf focused on rookies and playing time. Lots of good info on the Eagles and teams around the league. I was shocked to see which team is playing the most rookie snaps.

Bo then has entertaining stuff. He’s goes in search of an emergency kicker for the Eagles. Mark Simoneau did that for us back in 2005. Who are the current candidates?

Bo also talks to Jeremy Maclin about video games.

Will Nick Foles bounce back today?

Chip Kelly has a lot of confidence in him. I think Nick will play much better. I don’t know that we’ll see Tampa Nick, but I do expect him to have at least a solid game.

Let’s hope the offense gets off to a fast start. That will help everyone to believe.

    I agree there’s real improvement but it’s a legit question based on the competition we’ve played.

    I don’t think Freeman got a legit shot in Minnesota with just one start. I think you give him minimum of three and see if he can regain his confidence that got destroyed with what happened this year in Tampa.

    Then again, Leslie Frazier is fighting for his job right now, so you can’t sit around and take chances on your QB like that.

    I pray that team has a horrific second half and they end up with the worst QB situation in the NFL so that they are forced to draft a QB in round one,,,I view the Vikings as an obstacle to my happiness!! They are a scary team for an Anthony Barr fan such as myself…I need to worry about the Vikings and the Falcons…my hopes are that the Flacons are desperate for an OT, or Louis Nix…if Barr can get past those two teams, he can fall to a TRADEable range for us to go snag him!!

    I’m watching the skins use 4 guys in the backfield(3back pistol) and successfully pound the ball against 8 and even 9 in the box. It’s disheartening to see none of that with our line, and Hbacks like Casey and mobile blockers like Celek…

    AR just walked off the field emotionless as ever at 9-0.
    Looking at KC’s remaining schedule, you’ve got to believe they will go 14-2. I think they will split with Denver given the John Fox situation and so they will go into the playoffs as the #1 seed. I’m hoping for a Pats-KC matchup then.
