1st Place Eagles

Posted: November 2nd, 2014 | Author: | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 227 Comments »

The Eagles won, 31-21.

Dallas lost 28-17.

The Eagles are now 6-2 and atop the NFC East. Dallas falls to 6-3 and is in 2nd place. Would be a great day if not for the injures. Nick Foles left the game and we don’t know his status. Jeff McLane reported that he heard a clavicle injury and Foles could be out a month. DeMeco Ryans went down and things seem far worse for him. There is a report that he tore his Achilles. He would be out for the year and that could potentially end his career if true. Ugh.

Chip Kelly said in his PC that Todd Herremans left the game with an ankle injury. We’ll see if that affects him beyond today. Andrew Gardner filled in and seemed to do okay.

Not a great performance by the Eagles, but plenty to be happy about. I loved the way the run game came alive and took over the game in the 2nd half. How cool is it to put Chris Polk in the game late and have him run downhill and break tackles? It was also good to see Mark Sanchez throw a couple of Red Zone TD passes. Those were huge.

Plenty more to come later.

    Dear Howie,

Its time to put some of that cap space into extending Maclin.

  2. 2 FairOaks said at 4:33 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Are we allowed to extend him before free agency? Thought there were rules with 1-year contracts…

  3. 3 Dragon_Eagle said at 4:35 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

No idea. Just get it done.

  4. 4 Anders said at 4:39 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Not sure how it applies to your own guys

  5. 5 BC1968 said at 4:48 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I think you’re right about the rule. I heard someone talking about it before. They have the franchise tag so they still have control, make a deal or franchise.

  6. 6 Stanimal said at 5:35 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

You can’t resign a player before free agency if you signed him to a one year veteran minimum deal. We had this problem with Donnie Jones his first season with us. Pretty sure Maclin got his deal done for more than the minimum so we can resign him anytime. At least that was the year last year but it is possible they changed it.

  7. 7 Media Mike said at 7:22 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    I smell franchise tag!

  8. 8 Steag209 said at 4:26 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

With Meco looking, well, not good, are there any ILB prospects or FAs we should be looking at?

  9. 9 Corry said at 4:27 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

The biggest problem with losing Demeco is that he’s the brains of the front 7. We can replace him as a player, but as the “quarterback” of the defense? That’s going to be tough. Kendricks should take over the adjustments part of the game. Let’s hope he’s up to the task.

  10. 10 Steag209 said at 4:42 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

That’s what I’m worried about the most. He makes so many checks and audibles that have been key in the effective play of the defense that it’s possible this defense will not be as good from here on out.

  11. 11 Sean Stott said at 4:46 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

When he was gonna be out with a groin injury they made it seem like the communication is mostly done from sideline signals.

  12. 12 Corry said at 4:49 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

it’s Demeco making a lot of line calls. I can’t remember if it was the Giants game or the Cardinals game, but Bill Davis talked about the match up between the QB and Ryans in terms of matching audibles and having a ton of confidence in Ryans making the switch to the right play.

  13. 13 Joe Lawrence said at 5:02 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I think it was the Giants game where the defense had them backed up inside their 20 on 3rd down and Demeco out-audibled Eli on the play (which he had been doing all night). Cut frame to a dejected Manning.

  14. 14 Anders said at 5:09 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Thats a standard call for the Eagles. They go all out blitz against empty back field.

  15. 15 sonofdman said at 5:12 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I think the play he was talking about, Demeco audibled out of the standard all out blitz into a zone coverage, then Eli threw a short pass designed to beat the blitz and man coverage and the eagles tackled the receiver for a very small gain.

  16. 16 Anders said at 5:14 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

He said dejected Manning which I think he means the huge Vinny Curry sack

  17. 17 sonofdman said at 5:16 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Could be, but the play I mentioned is the one that they made a big deal about Meco’s audible on the tv broadcast.

  18. 18 Anders said at 5:17 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Cant remember it, but didnt see that game live

  19. 19 Anders said at 5:10 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Kendricks is the only off LOS LB in Dime, so he knows the line calls

  20. 20 juaniflaco said at 9:25 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Pretty sure Jenkins would take over that role.

  21. 21 BC1968 said at 4:29 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Had to get DeSean out of the way for Maclin. He didn’t take the multi-year contract the Eagles offered and it’s paying off for him big time. They either come to terms or franchise him or something, don’t let him go anywhere please.

  22. 22 xeynon said at 4:30 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

With the injuries, turnovers, and stretches of ineffective play, it’s amazing that this team is 6-2, with its only losses being close defeats on the road against good teams. Given all the adversity a Super Bowl run will be tough but this is a testament to Kelly’s coaching ability.

  23. 23 unhinged said at 7:57 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

The adversity just got bigger. Ryans is the coach on the field for the defense, and replacing him will involve tying B. Davis’ hands. The schedule gets tougher and the offense hasn’t shown it’s over the giveaways. Ryans absence will put the division in question.

  24. 24 BC1968 said at 4:34 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Seems strange that a 6-2 team losing it’s middle linebacker is more of a concern than losing the starting QB. Shows how big the drop off there is after Ryans.

  25. 25 Sean Stott said at 4:47 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    Acho has been acceptable.

  26. 26 BC1968 said at 4:48 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    .,,
As for all the injuries..this is that time of year where we come together and everything starts clicking. Shame FOles got hurt now. our offensive and Defensive leaders went down today, that can be a Kiss of death for a lot of teams, but by now we should khow this is a rock solid, well coached team that won’t fold to adversity..
    ..
Watt and Company were bombarding us, but we with stood the heavy fire, and wore them down til our run game eventual ground that defense into burger meat..
    ..
FOles and Meco down?mfuck it, Next man Up, continue to make adversity OUR BITCH!!, This an army…keep trucking thru whatever crap Lady Luck throws at us….I don’t know many teams that can overcome what we have to be in first place after 9 weeks… Now it’s time to start building momentum like a boulder til it’s big enough to run over the NFC on the way to a SUPERBOWL!

next man up…Eagle army is coming!!

Look at how Chip talked about Avant and looked how he had no problems cutting him.

  35. 35 BobSmith77 said at 5:12 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Difference was that Avant was washed up and unhappy with his role and PT. Don’t miss him one Bit

  36. 36 Anders said at 5:14 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

and Ryans is only a two down LB here on a huge contract and will now be washed up (you need to be Jason Peters type freak to come back from 2 Achilles tendon tears)

  37. 37 BobSmith77 said at 5:19 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Didn’t say anything Ryans coming back. They ll miss him a bit but yeah seems a bit overrated in the scheme of things. Graham or Cole going down would be worse.

  38. 38 Anders said at 5:20 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I think Cox and Jenkins is two worst for defense.

  39. 39 D3FB said at 5:23 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

We renegotiate with him. Certainly he or his agent realizes he won’t be in high demand on the open market. Worst case, we cut him let him go explore the market and then sign him back to 3 million. Let him heal up and use him to compete against Casey/Acho whatever young kid we bring in.

  40. 40 Anders said at 5:25 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

100%, Just not sure he is even healthy until 2016. It took him over a year last time to get fully healthy and he was younger back then.

I have always wanted him back on smaller deal no matter what because 7 million was too much for a 2 down LB.

  41. 41 GEAGLE said at 5:30 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Yup..he will be renegotiated for sure… Sure we work things out with him…. Btw, what’s everyone hearing about his is injury? Article says Achilles, I heard it was an ankle..anyone hear a definitive report yet?

Good memory, Shawn was never able to return from his back injury. I forget which leg but he never got full strength back in it. Spent a few years out of football at special clinics, tried to make a comeback with the Giants, didn’t work out. It’s sad. He was immensely talented, really struggled with that back, and depression if I remember right. Couldn’t get his head on right.

I’m happy with the result. I loved how they just pounded the ball down their throats. This was one of the better run defenses and they beat them at their strong suit. Still too many mistakes on the offensive side of the ball, but they overcame them and won convincingly.

  62. 62 mksp said at 5:21 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I get it, and he’s still a great player. RB is just a tough position to pay a premium for, particularly considering the talent that you can pick up in later rounds in a typical draft.

  63. 63 D3FB said at 5:27 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Coming into the game our defense had kept opposition qbs to the lowest completion percentage in the league at 57.3%, add to that Fitzpatrick’s 13/27 today. Maybe too many off them have gone for big plays, and not enough ints

  68. 68 GEAGLE said at 5:57 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Ran hard, you could see the physicality to his game today. I get the feeling that huff and mathews will be those WRs who come back in year two looking like brand new players…really expect a big leap from those two

  69. 69 Dragon_Eagle said at 5:24 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    2 minor observations:
    1) We need Nate Allen back. Wolff, when he was on screen, was taking bad angles, getting lost, or blowing a coverage. He is becoming a major disappointment.

    2) Kelce was seriously rusty today. A lot of bad snaps, fortunately none of them turned into disaster.

  70. 70 Anders said at 5:26 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    1) Allen seems like a very solid SS at this point who cant cover, but Wolff wasnt even solid tackling.

    2) it seems the problems went away later in the game.

  71. 71 Crus57 said at 5:27 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

On 2), I’d say having JJ Watt lining up opposite you could also give any center a case of the yips.

  72. 72 Anders said at 5:29 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

JJ Watt was never on Kelce. He was on Herremans or Johnson

  75. 75 Iskar36 said at 6:11 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Wolff had an ok, if not solid, rookie season, but I think a lot of people forgot about all the other times that has happened with the Eagles. Macho Harris, Quintin Demps, even Nate Allen all had good rookie years, played significant snaps as starters, but proved to be liabilities as a starter in their second and third seasons.

  76. 76 Anders said at 6:17 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Allen was 100% undone by his knee injury (lost a ton of speed) and bad coaching

  77. 77 Iskar36 said at 6:26 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Allen was affected by his knee injury and inconsistent coaching. Each of them had their own set of circumstances that caused them to be liabilities. That being said, I do think Allen shares some of the blame himself. It wasn’t entirely on his knee and bad coaching in my opinion.

  78. 78 Anders said at 6:30 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Hard to really know because Allen was very good in college and had a very good rookie year.

  79. 79 P_P_K said at 6:31 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Absolutely! Deserves every bit of praise he got.. Think It’s a nice feather in our OL’s hat, after everything they been through and have had to overcome, that we could with stand the terrorist wrath of Watt and eventually wear him down and then run him and and his front 7 over with our 3 headed monster…. Chris “Baby Huey” Polk runs like a best…solid in blitz pickup, and is a very nice pass catchers for a big bruising back….

Our Run game stepped up against a tough Front
    ..
And our run defense stepped up and was one of the few defense that could shut down Foster running those stretch plays…
    ..
All things considers, that team win shows some serious character…but that’s nothing new for this years team

Leading up to the game I talked Bout the descrepency between what chip says and what wolff says..well, we clearly know which one is the delusional liar after tonight..
    ..
I pride myself on trying to understand youñg player developmental process more than absurd fans with their ridiculous expectations, and I try to give young players a realistic amount of time before I rule them out..it’s still early, but it does not look well for Earl Wolff. Such a promising athlete, looks to be regressing from his rookie year… He might be better at some of the things we aren’t privy to, like diagnosing presnap, and communicating, but this kid hasnt shown the growth you would expect from a second year player in a healthy situation Recieving schematic continuity..

Earl Wolff better get it together, he could find himself abruptly cut out of the blue one day when he doeant even expect it…

I don’t know what his responsibilities were on every play, but I’d like to think I kno what a “great game” by a safety looks like, and that ain’t IT!!!

By now I have come to expect elite DE play from Thornton and Cox, but I can’t say enough about our two young NT.. Props to Beau for finally getting a much deserved sack. He was close on many occassions and guys made a lot of nice plays because of his dirty work. Today I remember its late in the game, and they are passing and double and Tripple team Beau, initially he held his ground, then he ended up pushing the double team in QBs lap forcing him to throw it quickly resulting in incomplete…and Logan is even better… When those two are in their 4th and 3rd season they will be a scary tandem anchoring our top ranked defense by then lol

  104. 104 Anders said at 6:08 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Beau Allen has been such a great pick. Cant have enough good NTs (NT can also play DE). This mean we can beef up with Thornton, Logan, Allen in short yardage

  105. 105 GEAGLE said at 6:40 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Yup, yup…..God forbid thornton or Cox ever get banged up an miss a game, slide logan at DE to replace the injured thornton, and stick BEau at NT…

Quality young Nt is important enough…but two young Quaity NT who can also rush the passer is HUGE… We are set for years with those two. Such an important position, awesome to not have to worry about it

  106. 106 Anders said at 3:02 AM on November 3rd, 2014:

Consider how good Allen has looked and how athletic he has tested, I wonder why he fell so far in the draft. We cant be the only team who values 330 athletic NTs

Crow is killing it in Arizona.. He’s on 1 year deal . Maybe we sign him in the offseason after we jettison sconces. How bad do we look now for passing on kelvin benjamin. Imagine him on this offense in the red zone. Cooper has fallen off the map in a major way. I know most are low on the “sanchise” but that pass to matthews just had ‘such” touch on it..a thing of beauty.
Not having a real answer at QB doesn’t bode well for this team. So much firepower but you need some one back there pulling the trigger who’s not going to kill the team with dumb mistakes. Our ‘D” is not good enough to overcome those.
Howie better have the Raiders on speed dial for that first pick or get his hands on some very compromising photos of Mr Davis. we dont need our first pick ’cause we gonna waste it anyway.. see MS II.
Losing Bill Lazor to the dolphins has wrecked Foles and left him a shell of himself… who knew?

Your scenario is plausible… I also heard wispers that Watkins doesn’t run like we thought he did and might be going the safety route..not sure how true that is. Nolan is also extremely valuable at dime, but we may not want to pay that for a dime since we have to pay boykin soon to be a nickel…going to be interesting to see how we reconfigure that secondary
    ..
I could also see us re sigń Bradley, but not start him

  111. 111 Anders said at 2:52 AM on November 3rd, 2014:

I have no problems with Watkins as a safety. that means we can play more nickle and base and still have good enough coverage skills against certain 2 TE sets

  112. 112 EagleNebula said at 6:57 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Half a season isn’t enough to make definitive statements about anyone. Especially not rookie WRs. Mathews is actually having a nice season and huff looks like a rookie, one good play offset by one bad…

3-4 OLB take time to develop, as do most pass rushers transitioning to the NFL, and with DeMeco hurt, good chance he will be back at ILB. Not many OLB could do that.

And a few facts from today: the D gave up only 14 points, 2 drives of 68 yards, rest were 35yards or less. 7 of those points came on the heals of DeMeco fumbling his interception when he ruptured his Achilles’ tendon. Yes, they need to stop giving up big plays but this isn’t a doom and gloom scenario.

  113. 113 xeynon said at 9:27 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

“A shell of himself”??? That’s silly.

Foles has made way too many dumb, overly aggressive throws this year. But he’s still been a highly effective player when he’s not made mistakes. He’s thrown for a lot of yards and a lot of TDs. Take away six interceptions and he’s having a great season. That’s half a dozen bad plays, out of a sample of hundreds.

When he comes back, he needs to take better care of the football if they are going to compete to win the Super Bowl. There is no question about that. But you’re talking about him like he’s Kevin Kolb or Bobby Hoying, and he’s clearly not.

Of the plays when Foles was on the field, only 4 were run plays, compared to 15 that were pass plays (including the two sacks). Whereas Sanchez’s first 24 plays were 12 run and 12 pass plays. Do you think that the belief Chip has in Foles to throw the ball 80% of the plays was hurting his ability to run the offense as effectively as he could have.

  119. 119 Anders said at 6:26 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Great write up Tommy. Its weird to be 6-2 but honestly I dont feel confident long term wise. A few nights ago, you said maybe were better than we are better than our record. I tend to agree with your view. Maybe we can be like the 10-6 packers or maybe even the 9-7 giants. The problem is the weaknesses are not really going away with more problems being created. Losing Demco will not be good for this surprisingly effective defense. Call me crazy, but this was a good defense for a playoff team. The secondary is very average but they were getting the job done. (How is Boykin doing? Haven’t heard his name being mentioned?)The offense has put them in bad positions with Foles dumb interceptions. Speaking of offense, the QB position is unknown but I remain weirdly excited to see what Sanchez can do with his first start next week. You never know?
Lesean is getting back to himself. But does anyone notice he seems a bit slower compared to last year. The blocking his helping but Mccoy himself does not seem himself still despite another 100 yd game. The main that will kill this team is the turnover differential. Way too many turnovers being comitted and not enough turnovers being taken by the defense. It just keeps teams closer to us than they should be. I really want to win this year but I just dont see happening. Thank god for sproles and maclin picking up the slack of Foles and Mccoy. Can you imagine last years Foles and MCCoy with sproles and maclin. Drooling… your thoughts, Tom?

Sucks having your OL go down in September, but when you overcome it go 6’2, and now you have built depth that you didn’t have at the beginning of the sEason, we took adversity. And used it to make us stronger…
    ..
Teams don’t win in this league with all the turnovers we commit….yet we buckle down, overcome it, make plays when we need to, and find ourselves in first place past the halfway point.

    1) was Herremans so good this year that we are thinking about playing him with a torn bicep and a bad ankle? Pull the plug, get that surgery and back to compete next year.

    2) When Meco went down I was very glad we went ahead and picked up a savvy defender like Malcolm Jenkins. Meco will be missed, but at least we won’t be lost out there. Good chance for young guys to step up.

    3) I love Polk. God, we’ve been missing a guy like this in Philly for a long time. I just wish he was more reliable health-wise.

    4) Can’t wait till Huff isn’t a rookie. Clean up the little stuff and I could see him outshining Matthews (who had a nice TD today) down the road.

Yeah, I agree. Sanchez might be a bit sharper with a week of practice with the ones. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

  196. 196 Ark87 said at 8:46 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

You never can tell how it balances out, Sanchez will have the benefit of practicing with the 1’s, cleaning up the handoffs etc. Panthers get to spend the week preparing for Sanchez. At the end of the day the result will decide the narrative but may or may not matter anyway. *shrugs* Hopefully they spend the week watching Sanchez’s Jets tapes though!

  197. 197 Avery Greene said at 8:50 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I think he can be solid for us for a few games. With Mathis back next week we may be able to run the ball more effectively. If he can show good ball security, we should be fine.

  198. 198 Ark87 said at 8:53 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I agree, Sanchez has the tools, just needs to calm down and execute. Foles hasn’t brought his A game (the way he played last year) this year, the drop off isn’t very big in the short term. We can win plenty of games with Sanchez.

  199. 199 Poppi said at 9:11 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Sanchez could be the elixir, INT machine and all. Remember he was great at USC and is quick as a cat

  200. 200 GermanEagle said at 8:38 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    Resign Mac tomorrow. Thanks.

  201. 201 Avery Greene said at 8:44 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    I second this request.

  202. 202 Poppi said at 9:04 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    too late bro

  203. 203 Sean Stott said at 8:48 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    Keeping Foles’ injury in perspective:

    1. It doesn’t hurt us for the ongoing active roster. Instead of Barkley being inactive, Foles will be.

    2. Aaron Rodgers fully broke his collarbone last year, on 11/5/2013. He made it back in time for the final game of the regular season. They also made the playoffs. We are in a much better position than the Packers are sans Rodgers.

  204. 204 Mitchell said at 8:50 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

It’s kinda funny how bad the Packers are without Rodgers. He literally IS their team.

  205. 205 Ark87 said at 8:51 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

wow, didn’t realized Rodgers got hurt this late. Luckily the drop-off from Foles to Sanchez isn’t in the same universe as Rodgers to that ridiculous crop of QB’s that filled in for him.

  206. 206 Poppi said at 9:07 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Lets give Sanchez a chance – he was MUCH better than Foles in the PAC 10/12. He’ squick and smart . if he finally has an o-line, maybe he can be a good QB – i bet he still throws the INTs , but could be the feisty leader we need. If you believe in Chipper, then you must believe in Sanchez

  207. 207 SteveH said at 9:11 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Hope you’re right, I think he will be a capable fill in. He made some bad choices today but so has Foles for most of the season, so it shouldn’t be a downgrade to what we’ve seen so far.

Comparing their college careers is like comparing driver skills between a guy who drives a honda civic against a guy who drives a bugatti.

  209. 209 Mitchell said at 8:56 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Poor Graham, he had a chance for at least 2 more sacks but that Fitzpatrick is so darn slippery!

  210. 210 Avery Greene said at 8:58 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I kept joking with my buddy that they were making him look like Jake the Snake.

  211. 211 SteveH said at 9:07 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

That was bizarre, I had no idea Fitzpatrick was so tough to bring down. Dude was just shaking people off at times.

  212. 212 Mitchell said at 8:58 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Pretty happy with the fact that our corners are actually turning their heads now. We have been getting WAY less PI calls it feels like. Our cb’s have really stepped up their games.

  213. 213 Avery Greene said at 9:02 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Considering NY won two titles behind a great defense, their secondary wasn’t that great IMO. They just need to not make stupid mistakes.

  214. 214 SteveH said at 9:02 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Yeah, they’re still not getting around and really making a play on the ball though, kind of frustrating because it feels like if they were better at that we’d have more opportunities for interceptions.

Can’t be too unhappy with the defense at all though, they were really good today.

  215. 215 Poppi said at 9:12 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Polk is awesome, what has taken so long?

  216. 216 Avery Greene said at 9:12 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

    His health.

  217. 217 Ark87 said at 9:15 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

as AG points out, his health, but if you are talking about it from a career perspective Polk has actually been really good with his limited snaps prior to this year: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/blogs/Why-the-Eagles-wont-or-shouldnt-cut-Chris-Polk.html

  218. 218 Avery Greene said at 9:16 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

I really like this kid. I still think about his TD last year in the Lions game.

  219. 219 Ark87 said at 9:18 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

He’s seems to have a nice cruising speed, that TD is reminiscent of his KR TD this year. He’s faster than I gave him credit far. By no means is he a burner, but he moves well for a big guy.

  221. 221 Ark87 said at 10:05 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Sooo….this season is totally whacky week to week. Every week seems to redefined my opinions of teams. Broncos: the only nigh-untouchable team, yeah nevermind. Chargers, what the hell happened to that team? Steelers were supposed to be a dumpster fire, never mind. New Orleans is starting to show life. You just never know, gotta take it a week at a time. For now I can only pray for my favorite happening in all of football, a week when the Eagles win and everyone else in the NFC East loses, go Colts!

  222. 222 Ark87 said at 10:16 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

We are what now in the turnover differential? -10 over 8 games? And 6-2. I’m not even mad, I’m impressed!

  224. 224 GEAGLE said at 10:33 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Proud of this defense. Like last year we are turning it up and gaining defensive momentum minus a bump or two last week. Young front 7 came into the game ranked 4th against the run and they played to their ranking holding Foster to 3.6 yards per carry. No one has been Able to stop that dude and our under rated OLBs answered the bell, set the edge like bosses and shut down that stretch run they have so much success with.
    ..
Corners came back strong after last week. Only real weak spot was wolff.
    ..
Both NTs were awesome. Beau gets his sack. Logan 5 tackles 2 for loss, that’s beastmode NT play from our puppies.
    ..
Welcome back Kendrick. Time for your “coming of age” moment with Meco out. You are ready to handle it..

I no longer care who plays. Next man up and we will find a way to win regardless. Crush Carolina this week!!

  225. 225 mtn_green said at 10:37 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Eagles are essentially giving away a possession every game and still out scoring them for the win.

  226. 226 GEAGLE said at 10:51 PM on November 2nd, 2014:

Eagles win, move to first with dallas loss
    Seahawks win
    Niners lose
    Skins loss
    Carolina lost thurs

Seeing Vicks highlights made me so thankful for Sanchizr. Geno smith wasn’t even activated for the game lol…lol at the media that thought chip would draft Geno or EJ Manuel.
    ..
Kc and Alex smith continue to win in the luckiest raggediest ways.
    ..
Peyton got smoked by an inferior Patriots team, should be ashamed. Brady doesn’t have half the weapons Peyton has and manning continues to let Brady own him. manning won’t win another ring. Neither will Brady!
    .,
NFL will never be this wide open. Glory is there for the taking!!! There isn’t a team that would be happy to get matched up against Us in the playoffs and there isn’t a tean we should be afraid to play. It’s not smooth sailing this year but u can’t tell me we aren’t battle tested. We are getting hot at the right time
,,as long as we don’t have to start Barkley I’m confident against anyone

  227. 227 Mark F said at 10:06 AM on November 3rd, 2014:

It didn’t end JP’s career either time, and Meco is a physical specimen, so here’s hoping he’s in TC come 2015 (most likely restructured contract)…
