I’ll post some thoughts this evening.

sammie compared athletically/size to sammy watkins.. ran 4.45
    ..
dorsett ran 4.35 on his first attempt and he even stumbled a bit
    ..
    funchess ran 4.7

  2. 2 Greg Richards said at 9:48 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    Amari Cooper – 4.43
    Nelson Agholor – 4.44
    Chris Conley – 4.41(at 6-2, 213); second attempt – 4.35
Antwan Goodley – 4.46(He’s a guy I think Eagles may have interest in)
    Rashad Greene – 4.47
    Justin Hardy – 4.56

  3. 3 GEAGLE said at 9:50 AM on February 21st, 2015:

funchess ran a 4.7 twice… thats bad…might have to go TE route

  4. 4 Greg Richards said at 9:53 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I think it was known he’s more of a flex TE. I think he has a better chance to be drafted high at the TE position. 2nd round guy regardless.

  5. 5 anon said at 12:01 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    how were his hand drills?

  6. 6 GEAGLE said at 4:36 PM on February 21st, 2015:

funchess and DGB both showed solid hands for big boys. i was actually surprised with how good funchess hands looked in the drill

  7. 7 Insomniac said at 12:19 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Goodley and Huff (when he’s good) would be insane.

  8. 8 Greg Richards said at 9:41 AM on February 21st, 2015:

4.5 at 6-5, 237 pounds is insane. I think he may just be worth the risk. If there aren’t any character questions, this guy probably goes top 5. His issues are the only thing that makes me think Eagles may have a shot at him. If it blows up, Chip can just blame Howie.

  9. 9 GEAGLE said at 9:42 AM on February 21st, 2015:

amazing considering similar size funchess ran a 4.7

  10. 10 Media Mike said at 9:49 AM on February 21st, 2015:

If DGB gets some good returns from his quickness drills and pass catching in person; he isn’t lasting until 20.

  11. 11 Greg Richards said at 9:50 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Eagles can just spread a rumor that he ate a puppy.

  12. 12 GEAGLE said at 9:52 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    4.49 2nd attempt

  13. 13 TommyLawlor said at 10:50 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I also wonder about DGB as a target. Might have so much upside that Kelly feels the risk is worth it.

  14. 14 GEAGLE said at 12:32 PM on February 21st, 2015:

thats certainly possible when we are talking this type of insane talent….. what we know for sure is 3 WRs will go ahead of him atleast, white, parker and Amari..
    ..
anyone see a 4th WR that could push DGB down even further?
    ..
Tom, all I ask is that if chip kelly isnt going to draft this kid, I pray he is gone before the eagles pick… because Chip passing on that kid could be the be the next Earl Thomas nightmare that we never hear the end of in this city… if he falls to 22, pray we take him, just because of how horrible it will be to pass on him and see him grow into the next monster

  15. 15 Greg Richards said at 9:43 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    Notable QB times:

    Hundley 4.63(same as Manziel)
    Brandon Bridge 4.72
    Bryan Bennett 4.81

Mariota hasn’t run yet but some think he may break 4.5.

Guys, where can i watch the Combine on the net? I do not have a NFL network subscription. Thanks.

  17. 17 Insomniac said at 10:13 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    nfl.com/combine

  18. 18 bentheimmigrant said at 11:11 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Outside the US, that tries to get you to subscribe to NFL Gamepass.

  19. 19 GermanEagle said at 12:52 PM on February 21st, 2015:

No, that doesn’t work. It asks me to sign it with my TV provider before saying that I don’t have a nfl network subscription with RCN.
    I live in the US…

  20. 20 Insomniac said at 12:59 PM on February 21st, 2015:

if you’re on your phone it might do that.

  21. 21 GEAGLE said at 10:13 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Looks like C2J’s speed record will be safe for another year…

i want to know when the combine will join the current times? put the silly stop watches down and lets start measuring these kids using all the “Espn Sports science show” measurement techniques… they measure everything, time, force, balance of weight in your body that shows efficient proper technique…. ESPN has all this awesome equipment that can take us in depth to breakdown these draft athletes, yet the nfl is still using stop watches? at some point we will have to start using new technology available to us

  22. 22 Insomniac said at 10:14 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Chris Conley, going to need to watch some breakdowns on him.

  23. 23 Javi Echie said at 10:17 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I was thinking the same thing. He has good measurables and ran a good forty. Has me very intrigued.

  24. 24 Insomniac said at 10:23 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I was more encouraged from his draft profile. The 40 time might be an added bonus if he could play like that in pads.

  25. 25 Insomniac said at 10:19 AM on February 21st, 2015:

DGB has tiny hands for a guy his size. Antwan Goodley has bigger hands than DGB, Wow,

  26. 26 GEAGLE said at 10:26 AM on February 21st, 2015:

he just showed some solid hands on the drill

  27. 27 Insomniac said at 10:29 AM on February 21st, 2015:

His hands were never a problem. I just found it odd that he has small hands.

  28. 28 GEAGLE said at 10:33 AM on February 21st, 2015:

the only real negative is he is pretty darn raw. Kid has alot to learn. He might be able to make big plays as a rookie just off of natural ability, but he is raw to where if you are going to draft that kid, you should probably have two veteran WRs ahead of him his rookie year. Cant go into his rookie year counting on him holding down #2 duty all year… so for us, it would work because we have Coop for one more year, so we can avoid having to put too much on his plate too soon….. doubt Baalke lets him get past the niners…

  29. 29 Insomniac said at 10:37 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Yup. Everyone saw what Evans/Benjamin did. DGB is better than both of those guys.

  30. 30 GEAGLE said at 10:40 AM on February 21st, 2015:

i can live with him not falling to us, which may be better so we arent stuck hating chip kelly when he passes on him…. but what I cant live with is fat andy drafting him… out of all the years andy deprived us of WRs, if he drafts this kid in round 1, i will be furious…. thankfully the Giants pick too high… last thing we need is ODB/DGB tandem on the Giants for the next decade

  31. 31 Insomniac said at 10:44 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I can see Jerry picking him if he slides past us.

  32. 32 GEAGLE said at 12:27 PM on February 21st, 2015:

definitely.. he screams Jerry Jones player
    ..
the one thing we know for certain, is that atleast 3 WRs will be drafted ahead of him. White, Parker and Cooper, with the Raiders taking the first 1 which will either be white or Parker… Vikings will take Cooper, because he was Bridegewaters high school WR…
    ..
cleveland is going to have to add a WR if they arent spending a pick on the QB
    ..
wonder if DGB will be the 4th WR drafted or if someone else will push him down the WR rankings?

  33. 33 Anders said at 12:45 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Calvin Johnson got 9″1/4 hands for comparision

  34. 34 GEAGLE said at 10:21 AM on February 21st, 2015:

I like that Chip kelly forms his own opinions instead of just following the ol Boys club… would be fascinated to know what goes thru his mind when he is watching all these kids, and I would really love to know how he ranks them compared to the consensus opinion.. for example he said that last year he had ODB as the #1 WR. Everyone was high on the kid, but most people put Evans and Sammy ahead of him.. I like that chip isnt afraid to buck the consensus evaluations and think for himself…. So watching the combine, we allhave a idea on the consensus rankings of these kids, but I cant help to wonder how different Chips evaluations are from the accepted consensus opinion brainwashed into our brains by Kiper and the media? would love to know who chip views as the best that goes against the consensus rankings??

  35. 35 GEAGLE said at 10:25 AM on February 21st, 2015:

yaaaawn…. lets get the show started, im bored, take me to the main event aka DEVIN SMITH watch the kid fly….. best possible deep ball replacement to desean we could ever hope to find, but unlike Desean, he has some decent size. Cant wait to see the buckeye run…

devin smith this year, Zeke as our RB next year….

  36. 36 Javi Echie said at 11:53 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Only problem with Smith is that he has no route running skills whatsoever, he really only ran seam routes at OSU. I like the kid but have a hard time convincing myself of taking such a raw receiver that high.

As for Zeke Elliot oh man I’m drooling at thinking of him as our rb next year lol

  37. 37 GEAGLE said at 12:22 PM on February 21st, 2015:

we could have said the same things about Mike Evans, who ran like 3 routes the entire time playing with Johnny Football
    ..
i love him as a 2nd round option… but if he goes round 1, i would pass

  38. 38 Javi Echie said at 12:24 PM on February 21st, 2015:

His underwhelming 40 just now may drop him out of the 1st

  39. 39 GEAGLE said at 12:34 PM on February 21st, 2015:

gotta see his second attempt, hopefully its similar to the 1st. hate when there is a big discrepancy,

  40. 40 Insomniac said at 12:35 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    4.46 i think

  41. 41 GEAGLE said at 12:38 PM on February 21st, 2015:

what i hate is watch, he will be a kid who we “hear” puts up drastically better numbers at his pro day(allegedly)

  42. 42 Rockedupeaglesfan said at 3:56 PM on February 21st, 2015:

He has decent size(ODB like), but he is blocking averse. I think his game speed shows the type deep threat he is, despite his time today. Not sure if his game and attitude fit with Chip.

  43. 43 GEAGLE said at 10:28 AM on February 21st, 2015:

like the way Mario Alford moves, kid is smooth but he also turns on the Jets and flys
    ..
Coates was solid on the hands drill… he just looks like a beast

  44. 44 anon said at 11:50 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    need that red zone threat.

  45. 45 Insomniac said at 10:57 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Jaelon Strong with the 42 inch vertical.

  46. 46 GEAGLE said at 12:23 PM on February 21st, 2015:

really like that kid.. plays tough

  47. 47 anon said at 11:35 AM on February 21st, 2015:

Did WRs already go through drills?

  48. 48 mksp said at 11:57 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    Chip wants MM so bad….

    6’4 222 with 4.52 speed. Unreal.

  49. 49 anon said at 11:57 AM on February 21st, 2015:

    hahah

  50. 50 mksp said at 12:10 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Have thought Devin Smith was overrated all year. 4.47 not a good look for him.

  51. 51 Insomniac said at 12:15 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    This years De’Anthony Thomas

  52. 52 mksp said at 12:15 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    Holy shit Kevin White

  53. 53 Insomniac said at 12:15 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    DAMNNNN

  54. 54 anon said at 12:16 PM on February 21st, 2015:

  55. 55 mksp said at 12:17 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    Welcome to the Raiders kid.

  56. 56 Anders said at 12:35 PM on February 21st, 2015:

So Kevin White ran the same forty as Desean and White is 37 pounds heavier.

The two most impressive is still Waller and DGB, both ran sub 4.5 at almost 240

  57. 57 Insomniac said at 12:36 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Desean plays at a faster pace on the field.

  58. 58 EaglesD3rdandwrong said at 4:33 PM on February 21st, 2015:

all he can do is run goes tho. I was always impressed with how Maclin can cut and still maintain near top speed.

  59. 59 mksp said at 12:37 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Kevin White is one of those guys that at the beginning of the season was a 2nd round guy, then you watch one game and just know he’s gonna end up being top-10 as the process plays out. Now maybe top-5.

Insane ball skills, great hands, 4.35 at his size….best WR in the draft pretty easily.

  60. 60 ACViking said at 12:47 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    Titans have a big decision.

Depending on how Leonard Williams does, the choice may be White v. Williams v. Mariotta/Winston.

Or trade down to Cleveland for both their 1st rd picks (and a 2nd) — so Cleveland can get a WR in White.

  61. 61 ACViking said at 12:38 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    No.

    Impressive was Calvin Johnson.

    4.35 at 6’5″ 239lbs

  62. 62 Anders said at 12:42 PM on February 21st, 2015:

4.46 at 238 is impressive. Johnson at 4.35 is just out of this world inhumanly insane

  63. 63 ACViking said at 12:44 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    No argument there.

    Other worldly for sure

  64. 64 anon said at 12:28 PM on February 21st, 2015:

not seeing chipper w the scouts this year, think he trusts the process more?

  65. 65 Insomniac said at 12:30 PM on February 21st, 2015:

He probably told all of the scouts to figure out how we could sabotage Kevin White’s draft stock enough to get him down to our pick.

  66. 66 GEAGLE said at 12:37 PM on February 21st, 2015:

breaking News.. Eagles just agreed to a deal trading Matt Barkley to the Raiders for the #4th pick (kevin white).. E-true Hollywood story

  67. 67 Insomniac said at 12:43 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    Kevin White
    DGB
    Cooper
    Strong
    Parker

  68. 68 Mitchell said at 12:43 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Strong has really impressed me today. I would seriously, seriously consider him at 20. That 4.44 speed? I thought he was gonna run high 4s low 5s. Very impressive.

  69. 69 GEAGLE said at 12:47 PM on February 21st, 2015:

im hoping he doesnt move into the #4 WR spot behind Parker,White and Coop… Then again I dont want DGB to be the #4 WR either lol

  70. 70 Mitchell said at 12:51 PM on February 21st, 2015:

I think he is right there with Parker and Cooper. White is the best but there is a 3 way tie for second. It comes down to what a team is looking for. Imo.

  71. 71 GEAGLE said at 12:56 PM on February 21st, 2015:

im not sure White is a total lock to go 1st, ESPECIALLY when the Raiders will probably be the team that makes that decision. I know what White did today, and think he would be a great 4th pick, but i wouldnt the least bit be surprised to see the Raiders take Parker instead. I think Parker is every bit as fantastic as White.. Today Matters, but it isnt the entire puzzle… maybe if a different franchise was making the decision i could see white as more of a lock, but with the Raiders picking, i wont be the least bit surprised to see them go Parker over White.. and truth is it wont be some travesty if they do.
    ..
whats funny is scouts went into the combine with “concerns over his top end speed”.. think White shut that down today lol

  72. 72 Mitchell said at 1:03 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Sure did. Seeing Strong today, I would love love love to have him in the first. We are gonna get a good player whoever we pick. So stoked.

  73. 73 GEAGLE said at 1:37 PM on February 21st, 2015:

there seems like we will get to draft a true first round grade which is awesome, not sure what position tho… could easily be something not so popular like Arik Armstead falling to 20, or an OL….. still havent seen chip spend a first round pick on a position outside of the trenches, but cant be mad if he continues on that path as long as we are getting a true first round grade, Ill be happy…

  74. 74 D3FB said at 12:01 AM on February 22nd, 2015:

His best comp is Jordan Matthews with better aerial ability. Similar size, both are as fast as they need to be.

  75. 75 Mitchell said at 9:41 AM on February 22nd, 2015:

The question is, does Chop want another physical route runner or a burner. I think Strong gives us the best receiver stable in the NFL hands down.

  76. 76 GEAGLE said at 12:46 PM on February 21st, 2015:

wonder which kid Derick Carr pushes for? must be nice to be a young QB of a team with the 4th pick sitting back and watching todays WR combine, just drooling at the possibilities. Assumed Devante Parker would be the first pick, Cooper reunbiting with Bridgewater at the Viking, and White coming off the board somewhere in 10-15 range, but White certainly has staken his claim today, giving Parker a run for his money as the first WR off the board. You look at Kevin White, and he looks like a mini, more explosive Vernon Davis

curious to see which kid the Raiders go with, and where the other player will land?
    ..
is there a chance that after those 3 WRs, there will be another WR or two that come off the board before DGB?

  77. 77 Anders said at 12:49 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Parker, White, Cooper, Strong (any in any order), then I think DGB and then its between Coates and Perriman after that

  78. 78 GEAGLE said at 12:50 PM on February 21st, 2015:

nooooooooooo. not strong! lol i dont want him to be the 4th lol

  79. 79 Anders said at 12:55 PM on February 21st, 2015:

With that speed and his ability to win jump balls, he will be 4th WR at worst

  80. 80 GEAGLE said at 12:58 PM on February 21st, 2015:

nooooooooooooo. thats my dude. im going to be a brat about it and refuse to believe or acknowledge it 🙂

  81. 81 ACViking said at 12:50 PM on February 21st, 2015:

  82. 82 shah8 said at 1:40 PM on February 21st, 2015:

The GT WR is getting some notice for lower rounds…

  83. 83 Insomniac said at 1:43 PM on February 21st, 2015:

  84. 84 Anders said at 12:48 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Hundley is a freak at the QB position. Only his forty is “bad”.

His shuttle is one of the best and the 3 cone is very good.

  86. 86 mksp said at 12:53 PM on February 21st, 2015:

For his size his 40 is anything but bad, especially for a QB. He’s just not a freak like Mariota.

  87. 87 Anders said at 12:55 PM on February 21st, 2015:

4.63 is still “disappointing”, I know it is isnt bad, but there was expectations he could run 4.5-4.55

  88. 88 GermanEagle said at 12:56 PM on February 21st, 2015:

I did expect that actually. Remember when a poster here suggested that Hundley had a better straight line speed than MM. No chance. Mate.

  89. 89 Anders said at 12:57 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    haha yea, that was Sha8.

Hundley did have better agility than Mariota, but I expected that.

One can argue that the SS and 3C is more important for a mobile QB than straight line speed

  90. 90 shah8 said at 1:32 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Eeehhh, have to go by tape. Even so, had I not seen the college clips of Hundley, this would have been the number I expected.

Here’s the thing, though. Compare Mariota’s rushing tape with Kaepernick’s college tape, who’s supposed to be slower…

I got the way I did, because I can remember Cam Newton’s run against LSU, and the finish was him beating Patrick Peterson. Mariota doesn’t have any of the sort of tape where he makes his own play and beats everyone.

  91. 91 D3FB said at 11:56 PM on February 21st, 2015:

No, Nothing on tape showed he had those kinds of wheels. I said last week Mariotta would run a low 4.5 and Hundley would run a high 4.5 or low 4.6.

  92. 92 ACViking said at 12:55 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Hundley’s numbers almost the same as Luck.

  94. 94 Anders said at 12:58 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Just saw best since 2006, but makes sense as he is very agile. Would just have thought an RG3 or Vick was more agile consider their lower weight.

  95. 95 shah8 said at 1:22 PM on February 21st, 2015:

    RGIII is not agile.

  96. 96 Cafone said at 2:50 PM on February 21st, 2015:

  97. 97 GermanEagle said at 12:49 PM on February 21st, 2015:

If White, Parker, Coop, DGB and Strong are the elite WR prospect, what are the odds we see 5 WR drafted in the top 19?
    ..
Figure 2 QBs will go top 19
    .
    atleast 3 edge rushers
    .
    How many OT’s? 3?
    ..
at the very least two DT, Leonard and Shelton

    minimum 1 CB? Trae?
    ..
any sure shot top 19 RB?
    Safety?

  127. 127 oreofestar said at 2:18 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Think you might put Funchess into that discussion and if DGB can knock out interviews he should be there to on a talent perspective.

Yeah should just be 2 QBs unless Hundley rises

Rushers? Gregory no question, Ray, Fowler probably Dupree and Beasley are in the discussion.

OTS? No clue Schreff seems like a lock Ogbuehi, Peat, Clemmings, Collins, Flowers have a shot. Anywhere from 2-4 probably

Leonard is the best player in the draft so yeah, Shelton should be top 15 no question, Armstead maybe and I don;t think Brown is getting enough attention he could get in that top 19

CB? Yeah Trae and Peters if a team trusts him

I haven’t looked at RBS to much but Gordon is there right?

Only Safety I like there is Thompson if you think he is a safety but some team may take Collins

If the top 19 goes Gregory, Ray, Fowler, Dupree, Mariota, Winston, White, Coop, Parker, one of DGB/Strong/Fun, Schreff, Clemmings, Peat, Leonard, Shelton, Brown, Trae, Gordon, Collins that leaves a hell of a lot of talent to choose from

  128. 128 GEAGLE said at 2:38 PM on February 21st, 2015:

yes it certainly is starting to look like we will get to draft a kid with a true first round grade instead of having to play the trade back game and choose from a bunch of similarly graded second round prospects and pay them 1st round money
    ..
a true first round talent with strong work ethic is all i ask, the position isnt as important as the charecter and work ethic that comes with that first round talent….. if we do our job in free agency what position we draft in round 1 shouldnt even matter

but personally, i dont care if you need a QB, i would NEVER NEVER pass on Leonard Willimas…. id give my kidney to pair him with Fletcher Cox and Logan… heck we can get German Eagle and his massive 5’11 frame and 5.73 speed to play linebacker behind that scary line SMH sigh

  129. 129 oreofestar said at 2:42 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Williams is filthy, If I’m TB I would just pair that Monster with Mccoy and call it a day but they won’t, Winston and Mariota are better than the QBS from the last couple years but they aren;t worth number 1 pick IMO.

Honestly I don’t mind a WR round one because round 1 has awesome WRS, I think if DGB can convince Chip he can get his act together we could draft him at 20 but I doubt it unfortunately he’s a knucklehead but Strong or Fun could be in play

  130. 130 GEAGLE said at 2:55 PM on February 21st, 2015:

DGB is a monster ON THE FIELD freaking 6’5 238 with sub 4.5 speed

  139. 139 Duracell said at 3:45 PM on February 21st, 2015:

I’m a GT alum. Trust me, the GT receiver you want is Smelter. If he falls to the 3rd/4th due to the injury, that’s a steal. I know the size/speed of Waller is intriguing, but he really shouldn’t go before the 5th round. He’s incredibly raw for being a senior.

  140. 140 Anders said at 3:53 PM on February 21st, 2015:

yea I prefer Smelter, but that ACL can be troublesome (some never recovers).

I heard some mention he was a late 2nd or 3rd round pick before the injury, so I would guess 6th to UDFA now, but he fits what Kelly wants.

Big, great blocker and able to high point balls. He would be an upgrade over Cooper.

  141. 141 Duracell said at 3:56 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Brooks Reed absolutely makes sense as a better Casey Mathews, guy that can play inside while also providing OLB depth..
    ..
Gilchrist is one of the top 2nd tier young options. Its similr to a Nolan Carrol signing where he isnt completely proven but one of the young talents who are being pojected to play their best ball over the course of the next contract they sign,,, like a safety Keenan allen type of solid but not great signing….
    ..
shouldnt be hard to recruit Brooks into signing with the eagles, we already have a 3rd of his houston team mates in place.
    ..
I dont hate the gilchrist signing, but I think we can do better at safety. thats the type of guy you sign as a fallback option if you miss on your top target… THen again, if we pay for Maxwell, makes sense to go with a guy like Gilchrist at safety.. he has started i think every game the last two seasons… he used to be a slot corner, moved to safety and played more of a strong safety role, but he can cover since he has a CB backgriound.. 26yr old. played in a few playoff games… Not a bad signing at all for us, but not top on my list either..he had the game winning INT against the Rams
    ..
2nd in tackle to weddle. recent transition to safety but since then he has decreased his miss tackles in each of the two years… Truly a young player on an upward trajectory

Davon House – DB – Packers
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes free agent CB Davon House could command $7 million annually on the open market.
“Because of a dearth of top-end corners and the desperate need for good cover men around the league, the chase for solid corners might get heated,” said Packers beat writer Tom Silverstein. “House could wind up receiving $7 million on the open market.” The Packers want House back, but would prefer a contract closer to $5 million a season. House is Rotoworld’s No. 7 available corner.
    -roto

    ….
contradicts reports that GB would be able to keep him off the market, which would mean letting older Tramon Williams walk… If we cant have Maxwell, hope this kid hits the market…
    ..
think a doable wish list for the secondary is:
    1) Davon House CB and Da’Norris Searcy Safety
    ..
    2) Byron Maxwell CB and Marcus Gilchrist Safety

for the Eagles to be able to go true BPA in the draft, they have some serious work to do in Free agency. next years team NEEDS to be build in free agency NOT the draft, so i need the eagles do make some serious moves and not fuck around in this free agent market. i sat patient giving chip two years to do whatever he wanted.. well year 3 its time to produce and be held to same standards as any other coach we would hire. we wanted to go with stop gaps at certain positions for two years, fine,…but now its time to deliver. Need a serious free agent haul to build next years contending team:
    ..
    Safety: Searcy
    CB: House
    OLB/ILB Brooks Reed
Edge rusher: McPhee, Sheard or Worlids
    ..
should not be a problem when clearing Cary, Cole, BG, Nate, James Casey, Bradley fletcher, Brad smiths salaries off our books…
    ..
get some young OL, WR, TE, ILB in the draft

one last year of paying foles in circus peanuts, take advantage and put a team around him we can contend with

Cole and BG off the books can pay for a good edge rusher and brooks reed
    ..
we paying Maclin, but you figure Brad smiths money comes off the books, next year we clear coopers money off the books and we will be paying for maclin and a stable of young WRs on cheap rookie contracts so paying Maclin shouldnt even be a concern

Safety upgrading from Nates salary to searcy will cost us some money, but the Cap is going up anyway.
    ..
we also clearing james Caseys money, and Celek will come off the books this year or next and we will be paying a group of TE on cheap rookie contracts..
    ..
in a year or two shady will prob be cleared for a cheap rookie contract
    ..
figure in a year or two, Herremans and maybe mathis money will be off the books and replaced with cheap rookie deals of like fisher or Grasu

should NOT be a problem having a quality free agent haul that allows us to contend with foles next year

  176. 176 oreofestar said at 3:46 PM on February 21st, 2015:

  177. 177 GEAGLE said at 11:29 PM on February 21st, 2015:

i wanted to keep Cole and BG, but if we are going to have to replace them anyway in the near future(Cole), we be stupid to just not do it now and take advantage of as good of an edge rusher market as we can ever hope to see. Rather replace them in a stacked OLB market, then get another year out of them and have to replace them in a slim pickings OLB market next year.. Pernell McPhee too good of a young player to pass up, with Worlids and Sheard as backup plans
    ..
I expect Davon House, more than I expect Max, but i figured id throw fans a bone since everyone is so Maxwell excited…. On the other hand, im not so sure Cary wont be here next year, and if Cary isnt cut there is no way we will also pay for Max… there really isnt anyone to cut. i wont even entertain cutting Demeco… if we end up keeping Cary, the only player to waive is James Casey who we already know about, and trent Cole… all the other players we lose are just guys whos contracts expire that we wont resign like Bradley, Nate, Brad Smith, BG, possibly Casey Mathews, but I assume if you sign Brooks Reed you would have to let Casey Mathews walk also

i cant really see anyone else who we would cut. The Only other possibility is Herremans. I have heard people say he is completely shot and we have to replace him, and i have heard people say he is safe, so i really have no idea which side we are leaning… but once older lineman with alot of games under their belt start missing significant playing time each year, i start to worry…I assume Chip isnt ready to cut Celek, but ill be surprised if he can handle more than one more year of the physicality of his game and how we use him as a quasi lineman more than a TE
    ..
Coop 100% needs to be cut next year, or atleast take serious pay cut. so paying Mac doesnt matter, its all about how much money are you spending on a position as a whole, and next year they will cut coop, and Maclin will be the only WR making any real money. all the other WRs will be on cheap rookie deals for a few more years so there is no reason to lose Maclin

Chip kelly isnt going to look at the draft to fill next years team. Next years team will be built in free agency, and we have a good amount of needs, so we have no choice but to have a significant free agency this year…
    ..
    Curious to see 3 things:
    1) Herremans, stay or go…
    ..
    2) Cole, stay, go, restructure… only because of a stacked market at his position i have to lean towards go…
    ..
    3) Cary Williams, you know i always thought he would be back whether the consenses agree.. but if you can get a serious CB upgrade this year, than do it, instead of going with Cary again and being forced to upgrade him next year… my only thing is if Cary is staying, I assumed we would give him a new 2 year deal that we can really get out of this year to get his cap number down

those are really the only major roster decisions of our own guys that we have to make…. other than if we care to extend Nate. Bradlet, Brad smith, Casey Mathews, James Casey, Brandon Graham, but im thinking BG and Casey Mathews are the only ones with a chance at being brought back, everyone else we will allow to leave… i guess there is a chance we could bring back Brad smith for ST, but i only say that because chip is a ST freak. rather cut Maehl and bring back Brad SMith

Conley was tackled short of the goal line and time expired.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns “would have considered” UCLA Brett Hundley in the top-ten picks of last year’s
    draft.

Hundley, of course, stayed in school and experienced a drop in draft stock, getting exposed when pressured and failing to advance as a passer. This year, Hundley is viewed as a fourth- or fifth-round prospect. The Browns struggled mightily in year one of the Ray Farmer regime, and the idea that they saw Hundley as such a good prospect isn’tpromising, either.

Mayock says 3-4 teams need to have a thumper and a Will at ILB, so having the Kendricks Bros. together in Philadelphia might not work.— Dan Kadar (@MockingTheDraft) 21. februar 2015

Seems the current NFL times are flying past Mayock.

No way 3-4 teams need a pure thumper who cant defend TEs or RBs out of the backfield.

Also Erik Kendricks had over 100 tackles each year playing MLB, I think he is more than enough thumper to play next to Mychal (who is actually the heavier guy)

    Erik+Mychal would fit perfect.

Mychal is a great pursuit player who is a devasting blitzer, where Erik is the steady tackler, but also got great coverage instincts to cover TEs and RBs

  221. 221 Media Mike said at 5:10 PM on February 21st, 2015:

Depends on the 3-4. My sense is that while Fangio and Carroll / Bradley / Quinn don’t need a thumper at one of the two ILB spots in their systems Rex, Bowles, and the LeBeau gang do.

I guess it really depends on what you want the guys to do in your “3-4.”

  222. 222 Anders said at 5:13 PM on February 21st, 2015:
