A Bit More on OLs and RBs
Posted: July 10th, 2015 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 52 Comments »Tom Landry’s storied career ended after the 1988 season. Jimmy Johnson inherited a team that lacked talent and had gotten into a losing rut.
But Jimmy also inherited LT Mark Tuinei and LG Nate Newton. They had started both 1987 and 1988 together. Dallas had a star RB in Herschel Walker in those years. While he was productive (1,514 yards in 1988), those were some empty yards. The team won 3 games and was 21st in the league in scoring. You know how even the worst team in the NBA is going to have a leading scorer…that’s what Walker had become by then. He could fill up the stat sheet and even have some great moments, but he wasn’t a guy you built an offense around.
Fast forward to 1992 and 1993. Emmitt Smith was in the prime of his career and running like a mad-man to the left side. Smith was the epitome of the RB you build an offense around. The Cowboys key play was called Load Left. Smith let Tuinei and Newton pave the way for him on run after run. While Tuinei and Newton were the left side on some crappy teams, they were also the left side on a team that won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years.
Newton used to joke that he didn’t become a Pro Bowl player untill Emmitt Smith arrived. Newton said he was the same guy the whole time, but with Smith running that somehow made him into a star blocker. That’s over-simplifying things a bit, but you get the point. The right RB can make his blockers look like studs.
Another sign that points to the value of someone like Smith…he held out in 1993 and Dallas went 0-2 without him, scoring a total of 26 points. They had the OL, Aikman, Irvin and Novacek. But without Smith…the offense was completely different. Unfortunately he returned and the team went 12-2.
Thinking about Herschel also made me remember 1994. He and Vaugh Hebron were the 1-2 punch at RB to begin the year. Walker didn’t even have 100 yards total after 3 games. The Eagles then had a bye week. Out of that they went to SF, where a rookie named Charlie Garner made his debut. He was 16-111 with 2 TDs in that game and gave the running game a spark that made it look totally different than it had in years. A RB with speed and moves? Freaky Friday.

I mentioned Bill Callahan in yesterday’s post. I didn’t realize that he had moved on to WAS. That’s bad for Dallas and good for the Skins. Callahan is one of the better OL coaches in the league. He knows the running game.
Dallas replaced him with Frank Pollack. He might turn out to be a terrific OL coach, but he doesn’t have the experience and track record of Callahan. It will be interesting to see if this is a move that will hurt Dallas more than they know.
Pollack was the Assistant OL coach for the Texans for several years. They had a terrific run game in that time so he might turn out to be a good hire for Dallas.

Mark Saltveit, the Chip Kelly guru, has a good piece on Kelly.
This is Mark and Ross Tucker discussing/writing about Kelly and some of his ideas. Good stuff.

Nice to hear a few Eagles (11) are practicing together in Southern Cal.

sorry I had to google to see who he is. That’s nice that they invite all levels to join in the fun/work.
Sanchez leading the pact. Working with sproles’ trainer. Doing film study, installs and conditioning. This is the stuff I thought Nicky stixx should have been doing. Sanchez says he always did “jets west”. Also great that even non roster guys get to go work.
Thanks for posting the link Tommy- checking it out now!
Dallas had a dang good OL back then….Eric Williams was drafted in 91 and then they wound up getting Larry Allen…stories about Big Allen are just tremendous…Youtube will show him Bench pressing almost 700lbs…and so many players have a Larry Allen story about him breaking the huddle and making the “choo choo” noise just signaling that the run play was coming to his side so “bring it on if you are man enough”…some players would say that it was either get out of the way or get hurt….
The worst game Reggie White played (before he was over the hill) as an NFL player was against Eric Williams in the 92 Division round loss (game played in 93) to the Cowboys.
Reggie got took in that game…that was Big E’s coming out party as elite OL…I am no Cowboys lover but if he had not messed up his knee in that accident….I wonder if he would of gone to the HOF…
Barry Sanders got tons of yards behind an average line. Well, maybe an above average line, but certainly not great.
I can’t wait to see our Three Headed Beast that we now have at RB.
With Lane, Peters, Kelce, I think our guards will only need to be decent for this running game to thrive this season.
Sam will contribute in his own way as his rocket arm will become known on the East coast as this season unfolds.
Thinking about our spread offense with these new skill position players and Sam orchestrating this offense, how can you not think this team will be scary good?
Chips offensive scheme truly helps out the QB as the tempo forces defenses into vanilla looks and a QB like Sam should be able to pick them apart.
Also, I feel Sams vision is worlds better than Foles, so we should expect to see Sam finding those open receivers more often than not this season.
I also think our D will be much improved and deservedly respected throughout the NFL as we start shutting offenses down.
I better stop now before the negative nancy’s attempt to put me in my place. 🙂
I can’t wait to see the three headed beast just like I couldn’t wait to see all the 2 TE sets with Celek and Ertz. And all the two point conversions. And the creative ways Chip was going to get the ball to Sproles. In other words, it sounds great, but don’t be surprised if it never actually happens.
Seriously. Unless he gets injured, it’s probably just going to be Murray over and over.
If our OGs play like crap then the run game will be so predictable if you can’t run up the gut.
I grew up in Michigan and was a Lions fan during Sanders time and no, his line was average at best and without a decent passing game most of the time. That is why I think he might be the best back ever.
I’d go
Payton
Brown
Sanders
Tomlinson
In fairness to Sanders, he got a lot of yards in front of the line too.
That is why Sanders was far better than Smith. Also why Tomlinson, Faulk, Payton, and Jim Brown are better than Smith.
I have linked the Chip Kelly interview here from Tommys link above, for those who just want to listen to him speak about how we practice and such.
Is it possible that this coach can be any more sensible? I think not.
http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/rt-media/ross-tucker-football-podcast/e/rtfp-70-chip-kelly-34925170
As I mentioned in my column, he is amazingly more comfortable in that interview, I think because he was talking with two football guys (one of whom happens to also be a journalist, Ross Tucker.)
By the by, I wonder if Tommy has access to my internet history because I came across the same story yesterday and BOOM here it is.
It’s either that or great minds think alike. LOL
Anyway, great piece and thank you Tommy as you are my “GO TO” guy for anything and everything Eagles.
Would that explain his love of Megan Fox and Funyuns? Nevermind, I don’t want to know….
Always amazed at how E. Smith seemed so damn efficient and effective on that play.
Uncanny knack (and importantly a general willingness) to find and take the first hole that appeared while racking yardage. In the second half when the defenders starting to get tired, Smith would start to break off some larger runs and get into the secondary.
I don’t know how many Eagles’ games I remember where Smith would seemingly be held in relative check early on & then just have a drive or two where the Boys would chew up the Eagles.
Why do you do this to me on a Friday?
I remember many of those games. I’d contend that most of them were the result of Jerome Brown’s reckless driving along with the slow talent bleed that lost us the core of our D.
Against our real D in 1991 Smith was 13 for 44 in the September beatdown of Dallas and was 25 for 75 in the December game where the refs allowed a nonsense illegal block to spring Kelvin Martin for a TD that should have been called back.

Not a bad attempt to rate NFL fans over the past 15 years based on hard data representing actual fan behavior. Eagles are #11th.
Measuring the quality of fans by the amount of money fans throw at the team doesn’t feel right.
Especially when the method’s number 1 fan base lets home games look like this until they have a winning record (refresh)

How about the number of fans crawling out of their skins in the middle of July.
Dang….
Greg Hardy – DL – Cowboys
Cowboys RE Greg Hardy’s suspension has been reduced from ten to four games.
Hardy’s appeal was heard by independent arbitrator Harold Henderson. (Tom Brady’s is being heard by Roger Goodell himself.) Original news of Hardy’s ten-game suspension generally shocked folks in the football community after he spent all but one game on last year’s Commissioner Exempt List. The ten-game ban would’ve ultimately cost Hardy a whopping 25 games. Instead, he’ll end up missing 19. The news is very good for the Cowboys, who badly need pass rush opposite rising second-year LE Demarcus Lawrence. Dating back to 2012, Hardy has 19 sacks over his last 20 appearances. Hardy will miss games against the Giants, Eagles, Falcons, and Saints before returning in Week 5 to face the Pats.
Bad news…..Greg Hardy – DL – Cowboys

The Cowboys are back to 90’s level scumbaggery, this better not pay off for them.
I have had a passionate Hatred of the Cowboys for as long as I can remember, but I was young the last time they were really at this level of scumbaggery so this is much different for me, then it was rooting against the 90’s Cowboys… I have hated playing against this team for so long, I really never imagined my passion to,smash them could become greater then it was, but on Gameday, walking into Lincoln Financial Feel I expect it to be a new experience. my blood will boil to beat this team more then I ever wanted to beat a rival..
..
And I’m not interested with winning a 35-28 game, where Bradford carries us and throws for 5 TDs… Not THAT WEEK!,I don’t want to see Chip outcoach Garrett, I don’t want to see our young WRs Carve up their secondary….All I want is for Eagle QBs to not throw more then 20 passes in either cowboy game.. Im not looking for a game, I’m looking to beat them up in a fight. From how scummy they treated Demarco Murray, one of the few Cowbpys who were ever tolerable enough to respect, to this desperation of signing any talented scumbag they can get, I Never want to see a game so bad where we just Line up, a lot of Celek, 2TE sets, Unbalanced Lines with Lane linnning up next to Jason Peters and Barbre, and just keep alternating Demarco and Ryan, looking for us to put our head down, 3yards and a cloud of dust play after play after play after play, I don’t want to beat the Cowboys off of talent, or coaching… I straight up wamt to ONLY near the Cowboys, off of sheer Physicality….I want Chip to slowly torure that defense and run the ball for 3 yards all day long, while our Front 7 Dominates that Dallas OL worst then we did in dallas on the Thanksgiving Massacre… The Next best gift Chip could ever give me besides a Super Bowl, is to Physically Dominate THIS Cowboy team and our Front 7 Deliver the shut out they gave us against our other hated rival the Giants last year.
..
We haven’t had many shut outs in recent years. Usually waiting years for the next shut out… But for our Defense to shut out the Giamts last year, if they can come back the next year against this so damn unlikeable group of cowboys and post a shut out in a Nationally televised game against the Offensive Line people over rate so damn much, it would be an unforgettable moment, instant Classic in eagle history…. I can’t take losing to this group of cowboys for so many different reasons.
..
“it BETTER not pay off for them”… Ain’t that the friggin Truth.. If Chip is going to make such a big deal about building the polar opposite of what dallas is building, he has to give the Cowboys an even Bigger beating them we gave them on Thanksgiving. We normally split the series with Dallas recently.. I give anything to beat this team twice this year. I don’t care who the QB is, we should beat this damn team off our Front 7 and run game Alone.. I hope dhip runs close to 180 plays in the two cowboy games combined, with Eagles QBs combining for ONLY 37 pass attempts in 2 games combined, leaving approx 70 physical run plays per game against dallas Defense, combined with a heavy dose of Tempo of course.. If they can’t stop us from getting 3 yards a carry, with our stable of RBs, and the physicality we can throw at them alternate get Ryan and Murray, it would be a long punishing game for Greg Hardy and the dallas Front 7… Hope to see Lane line up next to Jason Peters, and run our BIG backs directly at Hardy all game long.. Chip has to make a statement against this scumboys team, while continuining our dominance of the Giants, only allowing them a win against Barkley in Coughlins 4 games coachng against Chip
bad News because we were basically played by Roger GOODELL. He finally handed out a deserving suspension, yet it was just a lie he did at the time to shut us up, counting on us no longer caring 4 months later when he reduces the suspension by 60% which
,,
It’s bad news because GOODELL once again makes a mockery of his position as commissioner. I dont really take it as bad news in terms of our season.
..
on Paper, Eagles have so much Talemt and depth, that if we can take care of our bodies and stay healthy, we will control our own destiny in the division. If every team is at full strength, I think we are clearly the deepest and most Talemted across the board out of our Rivals, so we don’t have to worry about the other teams. We worry about ourselves, and if our boys stay healthy and play to their position it won’t matter what our Rivals do..
…
week 2 will be fun, whem Randy Gregory will be asked to Lineup against Jason Peters in his 2nd NFl game.. Randy Gregory can thank Jackass Greg Hardy for being suspended and getting him ragdolled and destroyed by Jason Peters… Demarcus Lawrence should get his ass whooped by Lane in his 3rd season on the other side…. I 100% expect Lane to take that next step, and establish himself as one of the consensus natipnal respected top RT in the game after the show he puts on this next season…. And I don’t give a shit if you have VON Miller, Greg Hardy, rookie Randy Gregory, with Jason Peters, the opponent lined up across from him witj always be at a disadvantage… Greg Hardy deserves the ass whooping Peters will hand him..
,,
With our Tackles, there isn’t an edge rushiñg tandem in the NFL that I fear going up against… Believe it or not, the Defensive Lineman from the Cowboys we have to worry about the most is DT Crawford. People sleep on him, but he is one of their best defenders who will be matched up against our NEW Guards, whoever it ends up being…I care more about how our Guards handle Crawford, then I worry about who the Cowboys lineup across from our tackles..
..
if I had to say which pass rusher gives me most concern on our schedule next year, I would have to say Cameron Wake, Jabaal Sheard(sooooo under rated), Kyle Willias and Jon Jerry of the Bills and Chandler Jones… Those are the edge rushers I worry about, no one our Rivals can throw at JP concerns me….. Marcel Dareus and the interior rushers of the Bills, and the interior pass rushers of the Jets concern me more then any edge rusher
Actually the suspension was reduced by an arbitrator, so your blaming of Goodell seems somewhat unhinged.
Blow me groupie
Always with the violent, sexual responses. I’d hate to be gay married to you. You don’t seem like you would be a very caring lover.
It’s his typical response to facts. Some people just can’t handle them.
He is actually right brother, it was an independent arbitrator. Nonetheless though Goodell did not have to relieve himself from overseeing this suspension. Shit he is still overseeing Brady’s suspension personally so why couldn’t he have done the same in this situation.
I could be off base on this, but I get the impression that 31 owners will not stand for the mere appearance of fraudulent activity contaminating their cash cow, whereas they all can empathize with the “pain” of having a big investment totally squandered by “unfortunate” circumstances that occur outside their beloved game. It is hypocritical and ugly, but those billionaires know on which side of the bread lies the butter. If all fans got as exercised as Geagle, the tune would be very different.
One could make the assertion that Goodell doesn’t let Hollywood Henderson (or that ingrate Troy Vincent who endorses cheap shots on QBs without suspending villains like Baker) make any decisions on major cases without his blessing.
I don’t give a crap if Dallas brings back Charles Hayley to play RDE and Too Tall Jones to play LDE; Peters and Johnson are shutting those fools down.
I hope so!
What a joke, that a 10 game suspension gets reduced by 6 games. Mockery of th process. This dude terrorized a woman, and his punishment was to collect 13mil to sit at home last year, and now he will miss a grand total of 4 games,,. It’s ridiculuos…. As an eagle fan, I don’t fear Greg Hardy, not even a little bit. Jason Peters will give that dude the beating of his life, so this isn’t about Dallas having Hardy for the 2nd Eagles game, I couldn’t care less who Dallas lines up at DE, I expect year 3 Lane and JP to smash everything in their path..
,
But a 4 game suspension for this scumbags disgusting actions is not enough… I would prefer letting Hardy play both games against the Eagles, and him still be suspended for 10 games. Then to him have his suspension reduced to 4 games and miss one of the eagle games..
..
this is a league that is giving yearly suspensions to some of the most Talemted players in the world over Pot, a drug that doesn’t give you any performance enhancing advantages, and a crime that isn’t HURTING ANYONE other then josh Gordon’s lungs… josh Gordon hasnt harmed another Human being, yet he has to miss entire seasons, the Browns lose one of the few game changers that crap city has, yet Greg Hardy gets to Terrorize and harm another human being, collect 13mil last year to stay home, and only serve a 4 game suspension? Goodell can’t get out of his own way… He finally did something decent and too, a stand suspending this scum bag for 10 games, and even cowboy legends like Staubach think that’s not even enough of a punishment for what this scumbag did, but to reduce the penalty by over 50% is just a mockery and insult to our intelligence,… Basically the 10 game suspension was just a show to temporarily shut us up, and this scumbag is now simply being punished the same way Lane Johnson was punished for a first failed test for performance enhancers… Goodeel. Is a joke. I hope people don’t just accept this quietly because that’s exactly Goodells plan, temporarily shut us up, until we no longer care, and then we can drastically lower the suspension. Piece of shit… Next time an NFL player Terrorizes a woman, I hope it’s one of his family members Instead of anyone else..
..
no one who has ever had a woman they care about battered by a man, would ever think a 4 game suspension is even close to an acceptable punishment. I don’t wish harm to Any human being, especially a woman who has done nothing to me… But if this scumbag goes on to terrorize another woman, if this Mext woman victim happens to be a woman related to Jerry or Goodell who they care about, then watch how different they would treat this situation,,. Yet because a great pass rusher didn’t hurt a woman they care about, no big deal, make a mockery of the suspension and lower it by 6 games, 60% reduction is a joke..
..
I guess this means Brady will be suspended for 4 preseason games, and the first half of week 1 game…. I can’t stand how the best sport in the world, the greatest cash cow is LITERAlLLY run by pieces of shit, poor excuse for human beings…. I’m so tired of GOODELL and his bulshit…
..
jason Peters has to hurt this man.. terrorize him, and make him feel like one of his woman victims… Jason Peters will instantky become a National Hero if he beats on Hardy for 60 minutes..,
..
I’ll be honest, I want him suspended for 10 games, because the panthers shouldn’t have to cut an elite pass rusher so dallas or some other scum owner can take advantage and get an elite player cheap, but part of me is happy we get to see Greg Hardy line up against us in one game..
..
I can’t lie and say I won’t enjoy every minute of week 2, when Dallas has no choice but to lineup Demarcus Lawrence in Fromt of Lane, and rookie Randy Gregory across from Jason Peters.. I’m Goimg to enjoy every minute of week 2 massacre of the young cowboy DE’s especially so early in the season…Having to start against hall of take Peters in your second NFl game can’t be very fun…
..
But part of me is happy that we will actually get to face Hardy once this year… Having to face him later in the season will add to the hatred I feel for the Cowboys
great point how can Gordon be out for a season and hardy be aloud to play at all really?
I guess Gordon should have beat his woman instead of smoking a joint.
makes sense to no one in the world.
Yeah, if they are going to make a mockery of the way they punish really serious issues that are a major problem in today’s society, the least you can do is not also be a damn Hypocrite crucifying players for the stupidest of things… It’s a joke that Carolina Panthers had to give that scumbag 13mil so he could stay home, then society basically forces them to cut him, only so “Americas Team” can turn around, pick him up for cheap, profiting of his hideous actions getting a bargain of a talent… And now that he plays for AMERICANS TEAM he definitely won’t be harshly punished…and GOODELL and Pats been cheating for years, they get caught cheatng in the AFC championship, and of course GOODELL can’t punish his buddy Bob Krafts,Golden boy, so GOODELL insults our intelligence acting like he will finally punish those cheating scumbags with a 4 game punishment, which is really going to end up being a 1 game slap on wrist..
..
but you take the ONLY quality player the crappy Browns have? Josh Gordon hurt No One, the Browns fans have been living in football hell forever, they get a decent player and the NFL takes him away lol over a joint… That poor fanbase has been so BEATDOWN and you take Josh Gordon from them? Josh won’t have any significance on the NFL season, but at least gives the Browns fans something decent worth rooting for, and the NDL Crucifies the kid over the equivalent of drinking a Beer.. Not much difference in reality between a joint and a beer, one game suspension is a travesty compared to the filth that the NFL slaps on the wrist.,.
If it’s any consolation, Hardy’s suspension was only reduced because his offence pre-dated the new disciplinary measures for domestic abuse being put in place.
If more people had been outraged about the crappy punishments being handed down for knocking the heck out of women before the Ray Rice video we wouldn’t be having this conversation, but sadly you only have to look at the reaction of Cowboys fans to this news to see there’s a long way to go before fans start prioritising punishing domestic violence ovver Ws.
While I do agree with you 100%, the argument that the NFL would make is that Gordon has repeatedly done this despite many warnings and punishments. Just like the judicial system and most systems of punishment the punishments get worse the more frequently you break the rule. Repeat offenders in any system generally will get worse punishments then someone that broke a rule once, even if the rule that was broken was worse.
Again, I’ll say I agree with everything you and GEAGLE have said, but if we are going to bash it we do have to look at the full picture.
Hardy was out all last season. But agree situation is messed up for substance abuse.
I’m old and I remember listening to the draft on the radio when the Cowboys took Smith. Merrill Reese was particularly unhappy and prophetically predicted that the Cowboys got a steal and it was not going to be good for the Eagles.
What’s a radio, grampa?
The Coolest thing that has stuck out to me so far is that I don’t remember the last time I seen an Eagles team like this where reporters can’t get players to talk about themselves. rare to see a Guy answer questions telling you how good they are our what a great season They are going to have. Players won’t talk about the selves, but they will talk about how Talemted their teammates are..
..
take Barwin, you have NO shot of hearing him talk about what a great year he will have.. but he is willing to answer questions like who has impressed him the most?.,
“marcus has been good this week. Good to see him take a step forward because he was battling injuries early on. but he is healthy now and he looked good”-Barwin
..
“Strongest group of rookie DBs I ever been around, Maxwell is who you think he was, Demarco is who you think he was, so that’s good”-Barwin..
..
“I seen him catch with the Cowboys, but who knows a guy who leads the league in rushiñg how good his hands really are. He has come out here and it’s like he has been in this system is entire life, catching the ball real well, running his routes well and it’s not like he can only be a Checkdown, he catches well enough to even be the #1 option on your progressions the way Sproles can be for us. he is pretty impressive to watch in the weights room. This guy can lift the entire gym, it’s incredible. He is really strong, that’s why he can take the pounding and still be very productive. He is a very impressive guy, and he isn’t just about talent. The guy has all the talent Ih the world yet he still works as hard as anyone, so it’s GREAT FOR OUR YOUNG PLAYERS To See”-Mark Sanchez
..
sanchez also had a lot of impressive things to say about Kinney, who allegedly is playing great on Special teams while also making some amazing catches, and Sanchez talks about how he clearly has a huge advantage knowing the offense inside out as a QB, knows exactly what everyone is doing so his timing is really impressive as a reciever..apparently Kinney is pretty athletic and maybe deserves to be taken a little more serious especially with a coach who cares so damn much about 1) SPECIAL TEAMS, 2) Roster Versatility… WE LOST ALL our emergencymQBs, Kinney is basically doing what TEBOW should be doing, impressing coaches with his ST play, RB/WR skills and show them what you can bring in those areas because if they impress as WR and ST player, chip already knows they have the ability to be an emergency QB like Brad Smith, and I’m sure Kinney had a drastically better command of our offense then emergency QBs James Casey and Brad Smith ever had..
..
We often talk about TEBOW vs. Barkley…….. Should Kinney be entered into this conversation???…. They have a lot invested in veteran Q s Bradford and Sanchez… Maybe they will be won over by a #3 QB who has been in chips offense for years, who adds to our impressive ST, while possibly being more of an offensive weapon then we think? I hear people startng to say that TEBOW will def make the roster. I just don’t see him being good enough to beat out Barkley in his 3rd year in this offense… Is it possible that none of the #3’QBs,are that impressive to chip and positional versatility ends up making Kinney more valuable then TEBOW and Barkley? I’m just speculating. I always heard Kinney was very athletic, he is a good basketball player. Surprisingly good dunker, but I have No friggin clue what to expect from Kinney on special teams or a WR/RB/Qb/St player “SLASH” role…. And unless Barkley shows serious improvement, muts mot like he is up against such difficult competition
…
So many examples of our guys talking Up their teammates to the media Byron Maxwell gave a solid interview on Sirius Radio, and for such a Brash, confident LOB champion, Im surprised at how humble he comes off. I rarely heard him talk about his ability, but there are many sound bites about how impressed he is with guys like Thurmond, Nolan. jenkins, ROWE, Jordan Mathews and even talked up SAM Bradford.. “Excited for SAM to show the world what he can do. He has the weight on the world on his shoulders but I think he is going to handle it wiell. I see it in his eyes that he is ready to show people.. The guy can really spin the ball. Whooooo boy can he spin it, talented guy who im excited to play with”-Byron Maxwell
..
jordan Mathews been here for two years and he still hasn’t accepted a compliment from the media lol, but he is happy to tell anyone who will listen about just how good his QBs are, how Talemted Agholor is, how Byron Maxwell was by far the most umoressive Cb he has faced in the NFL, how ROWE has impressed, how smart and helpful Miles Austin has been.
..
Even a brash Cocky kid like Huff is typically more interested in talking about what a helpful mentor Miles Austin has been,,
,,
And my favorite part is how close our defensive players are with our offensive players which isn’t always the case in football… one of the first things chip did when he got here was rearrange EVERYONEs roster so offensive players and defensive players had to mix with each other.. no way of knowing how much that has helped, but it’s one thing to see OLBs Barwin and BG to take MS2 under their wing, but its REALLY Cool to see our Hall of Fame Left tackle take the time to help out the edge rushers like Marcus and give him the point of view from an elite Tackle which is the positipn MS2 will spend his career battling against… it’s one thing to see Maxwell and Jenkins help the young DBs after practice, but to see Maxwell and Jenkins stay after practce to help our young WRs like Jordan Mathews who want to become great..
..
I don’t know how much playing Musical chairs with which Lockers guys use has helped, but it’s clear that this isn’t a United offense, and a United, defense like so many NFL locker rooms, especially the OLD school coaches who don’t believe in college coaches”new GIMICKY”crap.. This is a Genuinly UNITED TEAM where not only do the veterans help grow the young players in their position meetings but you have defensive Players and Offensive players staying after practce to help grow each other…. And this shouldn’t be dismissed as no big deal… “Ultimate Team game” ISNT some bullshit cliche, it’s the truth…and I’m really excited about not only the talent and depth chip has brought us, but the character of this group seems to Genuinly be so strong. These aren’t guys who know what to say, their actions say more then any interview they give…
..
Our previous best players like Shady and Desean were as talented as any player, they provided us with some great offensive memories, but I won’t miss Desean and Shady talking about themselves in every interview, especially when talking about themselves sticks out even more because those dopes didn’t know how to correctly use the word “Myself”… When I think of Desean or shady interviews it’s Myself THis, Myself that, typically used the wrong way..
…
I feel as talented and as Deep as we have been in a very long time, and it’s really awesome that so much of this great talent comes with genuine quality “Human Character” and “Football Character”… Won’t ne hard to like this group… I wonder how Dallas fans have to feel about having to root for so much human scum to try and win? Shady and Desean were hu infatuations compared to cowboy players…
those are some good quotes from barwin.
im fired up for this season.
we got some good guys going out there
I think you’ve reached a new zenith for how unreadable your grammar can be.
I agree about Kinne, he may end up being QB3.
