So question for people that understand the rule book. Is this technically reviewable since they ruled the “fumble” not a fumble, therefore it is not automatically reviewed (hopefully that makes sense). I know any turnover is reviewed but the part they are reviewing was not a turnover, therefor can you automatically review it because there was a turnover as part of the play?
I believe it is now. Originally, if the ball was blown dead, that was it. What’s important is that there was a clear recovery at the end. Had no one fell on the ball, it would have remained Jets ball I believe.
I guess what my point is that on the field, it was ruled a tackle, therefore, officially the fumble never occurred. The Eagles themselves could challenge the ruling if they wanted to, but because it was ruled that no fumble occurred, shouldn’t it NOT be automatically reviewed?
Oh right, we would have had to challenge it (throw the red flag). What was being reviewed was the interception.

Kid should be showing serious growth year 3 in this offense, looked to have a solid command of the offense in game 1, but it has been a continuos nose dive since the end of the Colts game… Smh really disappointed in his lack of development

Chip has only been here two years and he already had to call on his #3 QB for a game and a half, and that was without a starting QB
Coming off two Knee injuries… If we really are planning to Contend, I don’t want to have to pick up another QB in September that has to learn the offense,.

We have some serious firepower on offense so I like our chances to get thru a game or two with Barkley or Tebow… But more then two games and it will get ugly with either of them at QB..

I’m no Tebow or Barkley fan but I’m even less of a fan of having to teach a new QB the offense at the start of the season and for what? So that we can keep Couplin AND Reynolds instead of just 1? Or so we can keep Molk and Vamdervelde instead of having to choose one?

Maybe if you have some Iron Man starting Qb who hasn’t missed games in 3 years we can talk about only keeping 2 QBs but I think we have to be crazy to have q playoff team with a QB who hasn’t stayed healthy in years and only have 1 backup on the bench.. I would be too afraid to only keep 2 Qbd
If Barks or Tebow steps onto the field to play consecutive plays at QB at any point this season, it’s over. Hell if Bradford misses significant time, it’s over. QB3 is no hero.
I get your point GEAGLE. A 3rd QB has value. But in that scenario of needing a 3rd QB for a game or 2, who would you choose – Barkley, TeBow, Cassel or Flynn or someone else cut by Saturday? I’d upgrade that 3rd QB spot.
Furthermore, Reynolds (for example) vs, Tebow – who ya keeping?
Reynolds missed a tackle.. If he doesn’t perform he will give Couplin a great chance to catch him:, if Reynolds wants to make this roster he can’t make mistakes on defense tonight, has to make the plays available, while also making sure to contribute on ST… I don’t believe both Reynolds and Couplin can make this roster, so these two youngsters better play their hearts out tonight

Not a good start by Jalen Watkins:.. I think his roster spot is perfectly safe especially with his DB versatility, but their is a starting nickel spot available and it’s disappointing to not see Jaylen step up and make a case for that starting slot corner spot.,, Kid needs to step up and make some plays tonight..

I hate to keep banging on about the whole “we have tons of depth and that’s why we can trade boykin” thing but… I sure as hell don’t want Rowe starting significant games at this point.
He’ll get better. Jaylen looked bad last year too (but not as bad as Rowe) and now he looks like he could almost start.
He’ll be better next year doesn’t really help us in the here and now.

Screens are going to kill defenders in the 4th preseason game. They’re going to overpursue. That isn’t necessarily something that will translate to the regular season.

I think we will play a lot less nickle defence than Mayock and most people think.
With Thurmond and Jenkins we can stay in base even against 3 WR’s since one of the safeties will drop in to cover the slot. If we want to bring in an extra DB we can bring in whoever is the best 5th DB since either safety can drop down to cover and both Carrol and Maxwell can slide in to cover slot guys.
Think this is the reason why we decided to move on from Boykin – a specialised slot CB is really not needed with the other guys we have in the secondary.

3/4 of our starting LB’s are very capable in coverage
We want to stay in base regardless of personnel on first 2 downs. Then 3rd down will be specialist sub package depending on who and how the opposition line up.

I think they’ll pick up another DB on waivers or through trade, honestly. Not really comfortable with anyone at nickel at this point. One of the safeties can shift to covering the slot, yes, but I’m not comfortable with any of the backup safeties playing regularly.
Biggers could be serviceable. Watkins could come into his own. Who knows.
I don’t want to rely on “could” or “hope”.

There is no one on waivers you are going to bring in and start with 1 week of playbook knowledge. You pinch an athletic upside guy who you can sit inactive the first half of the year generally.
Think we will be ‘fine’ with Watkins/Biggers coming in for dime coverage against quicker guys. Rowe will be fine against less agile WR’s.
Maybe someone from DEN who knows the techniques that Undlin teaches. Unfortunatley, T.J. Ward was suspended for Week 1 and that will allow them to keep a player they’d normally cut Week 1.

Oof, makes it a tough choice
He is still raw and does not have the physical tools to be worth keeping inactive all year for someone else. I love the kid but he is making a massive step up and some of his route running is really raw and he still is making mental mistakes.
Having said all that he has silky hands, great size and length and more importantly a tremendous desire to be an NFL player and i think he will make it as a 4th/5th WR type who is great on teams. He just is not ready for that role yet.

Problem is that Huff has 8 catches and Nelson has 0. Tutu cannot play WR (he should be listed as a Special Teamer on 53 man roster lol). So we need some vet WR’s to get us through the season.
I’d be stunned if Bailey got signed to a team. He’s played great for us, but doesn’t have the pedigree and is playing in a great offense. I could see practice squad competition for him, but doubt he’ll get picked up as a 5th WR.
Totally agree, next year we will not have or need Cooper/Austin, so can carry a Bailey and a rookie WR draft pick.

Mostert has the physical tools to be worth stealing and keeping inactive most of the year for a team while he continues to grow and develop since he is raw as hell (seen nothing pass blocking wise from him).
Honestly think i would keep him over Barner but with the way the Eagles are using RB’s tonight looks like they are giving him a platform to find another team – if it was a genuine competition Barner would be getting more snaps.

1 series – had 2/3 tackles. looked fine – hard to tell much honestly since the Jets OL was dominating ours initially.
Another reason to have Watkins as the slot CB is you could give the offense different looks. Watkins could drop out of coverage as a S and either of our starting Ss could cover the slot WR or blitz the QB.

If your #3QB has to play more then a game or two, you are screwed!l.. But we have a stacked offense, Id bet chip could hide TEBOW for a game or two and have our weapons carry him to a win or two while another QB gets over a concussion or some other two week injury..

Heck with our run game, TEBOW can come in for 1 game, opponent won’t be prepared for him and we can have TEBOW and our 3headed RB monster just zone read teams for an entire game, set up occasional play action to pope Jordan,.. With our offense, TEBOW should be able to win us a game,

Very dissapointed in Barkley. Year 3 in the same offense. I expect GROWTH and this is unacceptable.. Instead of building on solid command of the offense he displayed vs the Colts, he has been in a steady Nose dive since that colts game.. TEBOW learmed this offense like 4 months ago, Barkley should have completely outclassed him in year 3 of this offense, and that hasn’t been the case… I don’t Need barkley toBe great, but I need him to show grpwth, and this is unacceptable

definitely. pretty dumb. Ive never seen a KR be so conservative in pre-season. Usually a guy trying to win a job gets a ton of opportunities, returning them from even 8 yards deep.
Bowles leaving Arizona is a big deal IMO. Cards were playing great, great defense under his leadership. Without him, it’ll be difficult to keep it at that level.
Not just that, Defense lost its entire DL with the exception of Cambell..lost some LBs…,that defense taking a step back this year, and that OL has issues… cardinals not as good as last year is my expectation
They need to bench Sheed Bailey and shut him down for the day,.. We don’t want him making too much noise.. I prefer Couplin on the roster over Prosinski or Reynolds.
Depends what they think of the 2 special teams mavens Prosinski and Maragos. If they can take safety reps incase of a injury to our starters i am all on board.
If you need someone to be the 3rd Safety then Reynolds is a lot more sound in coverage and reliable to be in the right place at the right time.

I like Coulin and DONT want to lose him because of his potential, but he doesn’t look ready to make the roster to me… Then again,I don’t really care if Reynolds or Couplin make it, but I think Renolds is definitely more ready to handle playing safety in an NFL game then Couplin is at this point….I disagree with Mayock, think 5 safeties are making it, Even tho Prosinski and MARAGOS make it hecause of ST play, not because of safety play, so I have Reynolds vs Couplim for 5th roster spot with loser going to practice squad for another yearR, I think Reynolds is more prepared to play in theNFL, but I don’t care too much which of the two is the 5th safety

The concern about OLB depth is real.
Not so sure about that… When we go to 4 man line on 3rd down, the OLB becomes a 4-3 DE… curry may be transitioning to OLB, but we all know he has no problem Linning up as a 4-3 DE… And Marcus should grow over the course of this season, if Marcus improves enough, by November we could actually have more depth then we had last year when we had 3 Quality OLBs..

Yeah, I think Barner is making the team. I doubt they’d even keep a 5th RB on PS, so this is showcasing Mostert so maybe some team claims him or they can trade him.

I don’t think Timmy T needs to prove anything else. He just is what he is. You saw it in the 4rd quarter he’s really efficient when you mix the qb runs, the zone reads and some passes in. He’s not the guy that’s going to hang in the pocket and distribute. Realisy is no 3rd qb in the league can do that — if TT ever has to play you might as well have a scrambler who (a) won’t turn the ball over and (b) can get yards / score points.

Eagles 2015 season…. I have just had a vision….
Bradford looks awsome, sets NFL passing records and we got 14-2 in the regular season. Win game 1 easily against Dallas by 30 points of the playoffs. Then comes the championship game against green bay.
We shoot out to a big 14 point lead in the 1st half, but a dirty late hit concusses Bradford and he is out for the game. Sanchez comes in and moves the ball but the Packers quickly catch up with Rogers and and takes a 4 point lead with 1.56 left. Sanchez then gets drilled on first down gets injured.
Tebow comes in and leads a game winning drive with a 2 yard QB keeper with 10 seconds left.
Eagles are going to the superbowl but Bradford has not passed the concussion tests and Sanchez is out for the year.
Tebow is our starting QB in the superbowl……

I like most of it. I think 52 Jones; 38 Biggers; and 33 Prosinski get cut.
I think Moffitt stays. Hmm, maybe Biggers or Prosinki do get to stay, because I can’t think of anyone else unless they keep Mostert too.
I could see Jones getting cut if they claim someone on waivers. Right now, I don’t see Goode being kept over him.
Yeah OLB is soooo thin. Jones is practically a lock and active on game day for his flexibility

Prosinski (ST).
I think that’s a pretty good shot. The only place I really have no feel for how it will shake out is the Posinski Couplin Reynolds playing musical chairs with 2 chairs. I think Prosinski makes it. Other 2, again I was lazy this preseason, I really haven’t watched enough of the other 2 to get an idea of who has the edge.
Also possible Dennis Kelly hasn’t done enough to make the team, but then again don’t know if an other OL did
Chip has talked really positively about Kelly the past couple of weeks.
he must have picked it up, personally I think it is name favoritism.
Dennis kelly is a lock according to VINNY Curry… allegedly he has really stood out having a great camp…

Who can also double as a guard would be ideal. The more flexible our back-ups the better
Is Maehl still PS eligible?
Yes.
Don’t expect Maehl to be on PS. He’s not flashy or exceptional, but pretty reliable, so somebody will pick him up, I would think.
Maybe if they need STs help. Most teams are looking for younger guys with more upside.

The Eagles will already have 4 RBs. A lot of teams will keep 3. I see Mostert signing with another team’s PS where there aren’t as many strong players ahead of him.
No way. Every team has WR’s that aren’t flashy or exceptional. No one’s going to suddenly put Maehl on their 53.
Awesome job since I have same except Rusty Moffitt or some other OL instead of Tebow (though Chip could go Tebow). Mostert and/or Martino I hope over the average OL on PS.
If you only keep 8 on the 53-man roster, you have to go heavy on the PS. Most teams like to have 11 OL between the 53-man roster and the PS so they have 5 reserves on the scout team against the defense plus one extra guy in case someone is nursing an injury and can’t practice. It doesn’t have to be the 3 guys I listed. They could sign an outside player.

As an OL? Maybe if you gave him a year to add weight.

One guy I’d try to claim on waivers if he’s released is Sio Moore of the Raiders. There’s a pretty good chance he will be. Not one of Del Rio’s favorites.
Doubt we cut any of our linebackers for Sio.. We already will have to cut a solid LB,Naje Goode.

Keep hearing this team is deep and I just don’t see it especially on defense. Only place they have depth is rb and maybe wr.
