Game Preview – SNF at Carolina

Can the Eagles get to 4-3? They were 0-2, then 1-3 and finally got to 3-3. Now the big push is to actually get beyond .500 and to a wining record.

The Eagles have to beat the undefeated Panthers to get to 4-3 so that’s not the easiest task in the world. I wrote my game preview for PE.com.

The headliner here is DeMeco Ryans. He was terrific in the 1st half last week. And he would be good to have on the field vs a team that likes to run the ball.

That said, Mychal Kendricks return is a good thing. He played well vs the Panthers last year and has the athleticism to help deal with Cam Newton and cover Greg Olsen.

The Eagles need to attack Carolina’s Safeties, Roman Harper and Kurt Coleman. There will be some pass plays to be had vs those guys. Throw to the TEs and mix in play-action passes.

Curious to see if just how good Norman is and if the Eagles challenge a competent but slow veteran Panthers’ secondary deep for a few big plays.
I have a feeling the Eagles will need a strong game out of Cooper or Huff tonight to win this game.

As I like to say, the Eagles finally found the best role for Kurt Coleman – opposing safety. Seriously, he isn’t that bad, but matching up Zach Ertz against him can be fruitful.

I love watching Gurley run and his ability to turn the corner is really impressive. Already a much more dynamic player than anyone on this team offensively.
