Always Looking

This can be a crazy time of the year for the personnel department of NFL teams. Players are coming and going en masse, and at a furious rate. There are a lot of tough decisions to make that involve some crazy variables, often unknowns. Is Marcus Smith the next Jerome McDougle or Jerry Hughes? The Eagles gave McDougle chance after chance and he never panned out. Hughes had 1 sack after his first 2 years in the league, but then improved in his third season, before really taking off when he went to play in a new scheme.

Howie Roseman, Joe Douglas and the rest of the Eagles personnel department have a lot to figure out. The Eagles have a solid core of players, but hardly a great roster. They need to find the right 53 players for the 2016 season, with an eye to the future. There will be a lot of players going and coming in the next few weeks as the Eagles try to find the right 53.

Remember that any roster should be written in pencil. Injuries and suspensions mean that things can change in a heartbeat. You also never know when a talented player is going to become available, forcing you to cut someone so you can add that player. Rosters are fluid, not definitive. You know the old joke…NFL stands for “not for long”.

He must suck so the team needs to dump him, right? Not the case at all. Hart has proven to be a better fit at DT than anyone would have guessed. But the Eagles suddenly find themselves deep at DT. That statement shocks me, but they have made some very good moves this offseason and they have more than enough bodies right now.

We know the starters are good. There was no depth after them so the team signed veteran Mike Martin. He had a terrific offseason. Injuries have kept him out of the preseason so far, but the way Doug Pederson spoke this week, Martin is a virtual lock to make the team.

Holdover Beau Allen has proven to be a good fit in the new scheme. He also has more bulk than the other DTs, giving him some added value for short yardage situations. There are times when you need someone who can eat up blocks.

The Eagles signed a trio of UDFA DTs in Connor Wujciak, Destiny Vaeao and Aziz Shittu. Wujciak got hurt and is out for the year. Vaeao has played well enough that he will make the roster. Shittu has potential, but will have to hope for a practice squad spot.

Now you have:

Fletcher Cox
Bennie Logan

Mike Martin
Beau Allen
Destiny Vaeao

That’s 5 DTs the team likes. They want a 4-man rotation at the spot so they’re covered. That makes Taylor Hart expendable. Shopping him also makes sense because he can play in the 3-4 or 4-3. He’s only 25 years old and is cheap for now. The Eagles could cut Martin, but I think they like the fact he has experience. Allen has only played in the 3-4 in the NFL and not that much overall. Vaeao is a rookie. Martin has 5 career starts and has played in 46 games.

Hart won’t bring much, but the Eagles have a chance to get a late round pick out of him.

What? Who?

Reynolds is a WR who played collegiately at Iowa State. He is 6-2, 205 and runs in the 4.5 range. He can make some tough grabs.

Metz is a DL from Shippensburg. He has a terrific frame at 6-65, 265. Not a gifted athlete, but you can see why the Eagles would want him as an edge rusher to look at up close for a couple of weeks.

Neither player is likely to make the roster, but you never know when they will look like good practice squad material or plant a seed with the team for when next January rolls around and the Eagles need to add some developmental players.

Money is a factor to consider when it comes to this time of the year. Cheaper is always better, all other things being even. I thought this was an interesting move.

With Lane Johnson likely out for 10 weeks, I think Gardner should make the team. I don’t know if Jeff Stoutland will agree, but I think Gardner should make the roster over Barrett Jones or Josh Andrews. Stefen Wisniewski can be your backup C. Gardner can play OG or RT. And with that cut, the price should be right.

Age is another factor at this time of the year. Younger is better. The Eagles don’t have a lot of older players that need to be worried. That will change in the coming years.

Beyond Hart, are they any other players who could be traded?

Eric Rowe would make some sense. The current staff clearly isn’t in love with him. Still, He has enough upside that I don’t think you get rid of him for the heck of it. And there are no character issues with Rowe. This would be a matter of some other team coveting his length/size and being desperate for corner help. You wouldn’t get much in return so this doesn’t seem likely.

The Eagles could move a DE. Think about gamedays. Connor Barwin, Vinny Curry and Brandon Graham will be active. So will Bryan Braman. It is possible a 5th DE could be active, but there’s no guarantee. The Eagles can put Alex McCallister on the practice squad to develop. Steven Means has outplayed Marcus Smith, but the team could trade either guy, knowing there is a shot the other player would make the Eagles roster but be inactive most Sundays. Again, we’re not talking about getting much in return.

You can bet Roseman will be active when cuts start happening. He will have a top group of 45 to 50 players that are fairly set but things will be wide open after that. I think we can all agree that Roseman isn’t shy when it comes to making moves and taking chances.

I recognize we do not have a “Super Bowl” Roster, but you can not tell me that this team is not more talented than last year. Improved O-line. Improved Secondary, and improved WR core. Special Teams already solid. Nobody is going to tell me that last years WR’s are better on paper than this year. We had Riley Freaking Cooper last year. LOL.

Didn’t we score points last year for the most part? Wasn’t our defense the real problem last year? Heck, if SB did not get hurt in Miami game we likely win that game and win the division last year. Anyone here think our defense will not be better this year? I don’t accept that this years Roster is not good enough to compete and potentially win the NFC East. Like other teams we will need some luck and to stay fairly healthy, but all this talk of a 5-6-7 win team seems unfair.

I recognize much of the pessimism lies in a rookie head coach and average QB who has not played at a level that makes others around him better consistently. I get it, but it is possible that DP and his staff is competent. It’s also possible that SB can play at a level we saw the last 7 games of the season. Not elite, but above average QB play. Finally, it is very realistic that this JS defense and scheme could put our defense in position to be a top 10-12 defense. This could absolutely translate into a 9 win season that keeps us in contention until late December. That’s all we can really ask for until the Wentz ERA begins.

  3. 3 Media Mike said at 5:55 AM on August 27th, 2016:

The Lane suspension really gives me ill feelings about the o-line. Especially if that translates to Bradford suffering an injury. Barbre frightens me, Peters is a long shot to play 16 games at a top level, Seumalo is a rookie who will make some rookie mistakes, and Kelce seems to spend more time talking than blocking. I do love the addition of Brooks however.

Because I see so many issues with the line, I can’t really predict great things for the O. I’m not going to harp on the lack of talent at WR and the lack of depth at RB. That’ll all be fine if they block.

The D is going to be really improved. Schwartz has improved the D just about everywhere he’s coached, so I don’t see why that wouldn’t happen here. The special teams should remain solid.

So your 9 win total wouldn’t shock me, but I remain stuck on 7ish because of how bad I think this o-line will be. I totally don’t get the 3-13 type predictions however.

  4. 4 Fufina said at 6:02 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I think the OL will be ‘fine’. Chips scheme left all our OL on an island with no support, so even if we are struggling at 1 or 2 spots with tough match ups we should be able to get help with a TE’s and RB’s helping blocking. Andy put together good offenses with some pretty poor offensive linemen at times. Think 3 years of Chip have changed the perception of whats needed to be a solid OL unit – you don’t need 5 elite performing OL like we had in 2013 to be successful.

Now I am not saying it cant go all wrong – Peters gets injured week 2, Seumalo gets beaten up inside since we have to slide protection to protect an outmatched back up LT and things are suddenly going to start falling to pieces…. but that is worse case scenario stuff and most teams would suffer the same.

  5. 5 Media Mike said at 6:08 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I’ll have to see it to believe it with the O-line. I’d struggle to have a lower opinion of Barbre / Kelce than I currently hold and Peters falls into an age / nagging injury bracket that makes him unlikely to return to his prior HOF level form.

I 100% agree with you that you don’t need to have an epic level O-line to be a good team, but the fragile nature of Bradford and the relative lack of great players in the skill positions is going to magnify the problems of that group.

  6. 6 Gian GEAGLE said at 1:20 PM on August 27th, 2016:

Omg you and this Kelce shit…

  7. 7 Gian GEAGLE said at 1:19 PM on August 27th, 2016:

Very well said…. Think chips blocking scheme was a huge flaw that has been overlooked. Too often his offense required giving the 5 Lineman No help….those days are over, and we should enjoy the element of surprise where as everyone knew what we were doing last year
    ..
It’s ridiculous that the media doesn’t think we improved

  8. 8 Fufina said at 5:55 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I agree with you – the narrative around the team has been weird all year – and that was before they traded up for Wentz.

I am not a Bradford fan – i like more gun slingy QB’s rather than controlled consistency, but in this offensive scheme and with the defence shaping up, Bradford needs to find a way to score 3 TD’s and we will win most games. Considering our special teams and defence will help with field position you would think that is something that this team can deliver on consistently enough to get us 8-10 wins and be right in the NFC East playoff hunt with that record.

  9. 9 Gian GEAGLE said at 12:51 PM on August 27th, 2016:

Shhhhh don’t ruin the silly narative that we won’t be competing for the division
    ..
It’s funny, because our Rivals have big name WRs, ALL THEIR FLAWS are ignored and glossed over. Can’t wait to play the flawed rosters in our division

  10. 10 Greg Tulino said at 1:06 PM on August 27th, 2016:

After last years Pre-season many national and local pundits had the Eagles advancing deep into the playoffs and some had us winning the Super Bowl with a lesser roster than we have today. They know less than we ( fans) do. Are we a super bowl roster right now? Of course not, but we damn sure are good enough to compete in this division if a few things break our way.

  11. 11 Gian GEAGLE said at 1:17 PM on August 27th, 2016:

Well said. I think the media is going to look really bad This year. We aren’t ready to compete with the legit contenders, but there is no reason why any Eagle fan should be going into this season thinking anything less than winning such a wide open division..
    ..
All you hear about this summer is how we don’t have big name WRs…. Last I checked, WRs DONT carry their teams to Super Bowl wins too often. Id rather be weak at WR than to have the worst defensive ends in the NFL… People worried about our Linebackers, have they seem the garbage LB dallas and the Giants have? We have the best safeties in the division, maybe the NFL… No one else has elite safeties in our division. Giamts have the slowest safety tandem in the NFL, yet you don’t hear our media talk about Ertz, Burton and Sproles having a field day against slow safeties and badLinebackers
    ..
This may be the worst media coverage we ever had as Eagle fans. This years team should look very different than what the media seems to think… Specifically our offense. We won’t average 30 points a game, but these idiots got this crazy idea that our offense will suck…. So stupid
    ..
at No POINT in this season will any team in our division have more than a two win lead over the next best team in the division. It’s going to be a close dog fight all year with the division probably being won on the last game of the season. I’ll be shocked if we aren’t in the mix for the division once we get to DECEMBER, unless injuries decimate us of course
    ..
We have the best defense in the division, but that doesn’t seem to count for anything since the Cowboys have DEz bryant and the Giants have ODB…. What drugs are people smoking to think that the Giants and Cowboys have a better 53 man roster than us? We may not have GREAT all Pros at every position, but we don’t have the glaring weaknesses that they have,,,, Id rather be solid across the board with no glaring holes, than to have a few great players and glaring weaknesses at multiple starting positions…
    ..
Our team is very much improved from last years team that lost the division at the end of the season

  12. 12 BobSmith77 said at 4:00 PM on August 27th, 2016:

OL is a much bigger issue to me and far and away the most pressing one. I don’t have much faith in Kelce rebounding and the tackles are a mess.

Too bad too because the formula was in place albeit lacking a decent RB to play a grind out type of football, have a 4-2 record in the NFC East, and end up at at 9-7.

Still see this as 6-10 team.

  14. 14 Insomniac said at 2:14 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I don’t think we can really get anything for him. His tape as a CB is bad and safeties aren’t as highly valued as CBs. I heard the Browns need a DB and we do need a WR..

  15. 15 Anders said at 3:04 AM on August 27th, 2016:

His tape at CB is actually not bad. Outside of the Lions game against Calvin Johnson, he had a good rookie year

  16. 16 Media Mike said at 5:49 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I was going to say the exact same thing. I think the coaches see that as well, but might be riding him hard to humble him somewhat. There are a bunch of older CBs here on shorter term deals, so Rowe is a guy who is going to need to develop more for 2017 and beyond as well.

  17. 17 A_T_G said at 7:21 AM on August 27th, 2016:

And I am sure coaches grade tape against CJ on a curve.

  18. 18 Insomniac said at 7:23 AM on August 27th, 2016:

No he didn’t. Outside of two interceptions he looked pretty mediocre at best. Always trailing, can’t deal with any routes that would move him laterally, and even then with those picks they were ducks thrown right to him. Hardly impressive.

  19. 19 Mitchell said at 8:57 AM on August 27th, 2016:

For a rookie cb to have 2 ints and look mediocre isnt really all that bad. Its not like it was his 3rd season.

  20. 20 Insomniac said at 9:43 AM on August 27th, 2016:

It was actually only one but lets forget about that.

  21. 21 Gian GEAGLE said at 12:50 PM on August 27th, 2016:

That’s not fair, because While he does tend to trail WRs, he is pretty good at recovering and getting himself in position to defend the pass…. When he gets older, that may become a weapon baiting QBs into a throw, in which he can recover and make a play on the ball..
    ..
Way too soon to have this convo about giving up on Rowe

  22. 22 Gian GEAGLE said at 12:48 PM on August 27th, 2016:

That Lions tape Wasnt even that bad, the results were horrible, but he was playing solid coverage. He won’t be the first corner who played well yet still got destroyed by Calvin

  23. 23 Tumtum said at 9:29 AM on August 27th, 2016:

His tape is bad? I guess I was watching the wrong team when I thought he took over due to injury.

I don’t think it’s a lock that Vaeao makes the roster. I agree he’s shown enough to but keeping 5 DTs on the 53-man roster is difficult. I think they’re more likely to go heavy at DE(if they don’t add a 6th LB on waivers) for ST purposes. Curry and Graham are likely to get some snaps at DT on pass-rushing downs.

  37. 37 Tumtum said at 9:28 AM on August 27th, 2016:

I don’t know if I would be more upset about Rowe being traded for nothing or languishing on the inactive list. I am desperate for a stud homegrown receiver. He is the only one on the horizon.

Everyone knows what he did last year, where he was drafted. Its pretty clear he doesn’t click with JS. That could have a lot to do with his play. JS has talked about how he is a young player. My vibe is that he is in the dog house, but it is one of those Braveheart scenarios. “Kiss the ring and all will be forgiven”. Suck it up Rowe.. kiss the MF.

    **edit**
It also sounds like he might not be the best practice player. He never really got much coach love last year… until he got into the games.

  38. 38 Tdoteaglefan said at 12:06 PM on August 27th, 2016:

yeah I’m believing the second part of your comment as well…that he may be more of a “gamer” and not the best practice player. He didn’t particularly have a great preseason last year either, but then again he was playing slot corner a lot which was definitely not a strength.

I also believe that his career may take the same trajectory as the player that he will eventually replace – Malcolm Jenkins, who was a decent corner earlier in his career but didn’t really shine until he became a safety. Possibly Rowe would be suited best as more of a playmaker at safety..

  39. 39 Gian GEAGLE said at 12:43 PM on August 27th, 2016:

  41. 41 Greg Richards said at 11:09 AM on August 27th, 2016:

The Colts’ game may end up being fool’s gold. Just about all their CBs are hurt. If Agholor/Randle/Huff don’t dominate vs. the UDFAs they trout out, it’s a very bad sign. And if they excel, it doesn’t mean much.

Funny how our media spent 3 years talking about how KAp is the perfect QB for Chip Kelly, yet chip wants nothing to do with KAp.

ITs looking Like Lane may be on the field week 1. The test results ARENT in yet, and he only has like 14 days for the test results to come in, appeal the suspension, and get a ruling on the appeal in time to suspend him for week 1. Tho Lane said he would do what the eagles think is best in terms of appealing it or not. But I would hate to not appeal it, never know they may cut his suspension by a couple games
    ..
What happens if Lane suffers a significant injury tonight? Does his suspension not go into effect until he gets healthy? Wouldnt that make it a little too risky to play him with the backups tonight? Talk about a risk to make a Horribke situation even worse, it would be horrible if he has a season ending injury so he can’t serve his 10 game suspension TIL next season, I hope the Eagles have considerd this, I wouldn’t be willing to take that risk and put him on the field tonight,,. For who? For what?

    Notes:
yes I know Bryan Braman ISNT a Linebacker, but since we have 5 Linebackers with NFL experience, the 6th LB won’t ever get on the field, and he would essentially just be a special teams player, so we might as well use his spot to keep Braman our beat ST player
    ..
    Biggest roster spots in question:
#4 Defensive Tackle spot which comes down to Beau vs Hart vs Vaeao. Vaeao is the only one that we could put on practice squad, but he could get poached. I assume they are trying to trade Hart, if not both Hart and Beau
    ..
    #9 OL
I went with Gardner since he took the pay cut, but Tobin could win this spot since he is Jason Peters backüp at LT
    ..
Sturgis vs Parkey?? No idea who wins

I’d love to get rid of huff and keep PT, but I suspect that PT ISNT a good enough ST player to make it over Huff. He won’t start for us, so he would have a better shot to make the team on Special Teams, which he hasn’t done so I think they give the spot to Huff. Sure wouldn’t mind being wrong, few fans would celebrate getting rid of huff more than me so I hope your right

It would be tough for me too see a guy like Huff or Randle make the team over Turner when Turner has proven to be so much more productive and has much better hands. I do understand the rational behind it, but it still would be tough to digest.

Giving up on Rowe (trading him for anything less than a 3rd/4th to me) this early is a terrible look for our coaching staff, but more specifically our front office and scouts. How many guys can we continue to whiff on? Yes, plenty of players drafted in the top rounds don’t pan out, but we are striking out at a pretty high rate and it’s severely impeding our ability to compete and build towards the future.

  81. 81 Greg Richards said at 2:49 PM on August 27th, 2016:

  82. 82 Allen3000 said at 2:52 PM on August 27th, 2016:

That’s a bs excuse. He was drafted high not only because he was a great DB, but also because of his versatility. That was the selling point. Now, we have no use for him because he can’t adjust to a new scheme? I’m not buying it.

  83. 83 Greg Richards said at 2:56 PM on August 27th, 2016:

I don’t think he gets traded either, but it will piss me off if he doesn’t see much of the field this year. He’s too talented to just treat as if he’s disposable. And to me, scheme is a poor excuse in the case of Rowe.

  85. 85 Gian GEAGLE said at 3:13 PM on August 27th, 2016:

I wouldn’t worry. Don’t see why they would even consider trading one of our two best young corners. People say schwartz DOESNT like him, but the impression I got was schwartz just thinks he is too young right now. On numerous occasions schwartz said something like “we gotta remember he is a young kid who only has like a half a season of Experience under his belt”.. I have heard schwartz make excuses for him on a couple of occassions, and he doesnt seem like the type to sugar coat and BS
    ..
We are going to keep 5 or 6 corners, and anyone who thinks Rowe ISNT one of our 5 or 6 most Talented corners needs a drug test… It’s not like Rowe is taking a roster spot away from all these other talented young corners. Schwartz DOESNT seem to be a big fan of Rice or JaCorey Sheppard…
    ..
Just because schwartz thinks Leodis, Nolan, and Brooks are more ready to play, doesn’t automatcally mean he thinks rowe ISNT even worth continuing to develope..
    .,
I don’t see why we would trade Rowe, when we have room to keep all the corners worth anything:
    1) Leodia
    2) Nolan
    3) Brooks
    4) Mills
    5) Rowe
    6) aaron Grymes..
    ..
What other corner do we have to make room for by accepting some lowball offer for Rowe? If schwartz really didn’t value Rowe, I think we would have seen the Eagles try him at Safety before they ever considered moving on from him…. It would be shocking to see them cut Rowe, and we could wait til after the season to trade him for a draft pick. I don’t think anyone will offer anything so enticing that we should trade him now.. But we’ll see….

    ..
    So lets take inventory:
    rookie QB
    .
Great Run blocking OL, but not great in pass protection.
    .
Elite WR (Dez), servicable Cole Beasley, and nothing special behind them
    .
The Worst group of TE in the division. Witten is Old, and Esobar never developed into anything special
    .
Zeke is the best RB in our division.
    .
Thornton and Crawford give them strong DT’s
    ..
Worst group of edge rushers in the NFL (a premier position)
    ..
Sean Lee and a bunch of scabs at LB
    ..
    Average CB’s
    .
Byron Jones and church may be the top safeties in our division behind us

This is the Big Bad Dallas Roster that is supposed to win our division wifh Romo healthy? Don’t make me laugh! Sean Lee and Scandrick are literally the only two defenders who would start on our defense
    ..
To suggest that this Swiss cheese flawed roster full of glaring holes that can be exploited at important positions being better than our roster is laughable.. But because they have a few big name players, media Ignores all their holes… Media has them winning the division, I have dallas and the Giants competing for 3rd place and that was, before they lost Romo for 8-10 games..
    ..
No idea why anyone thinks their roster was anything special to begin with? Does defense no longer matter?

Im more mad at how screwed up the supplement industry is… I doubt he would intentionally take something banned, when he just got paid, has nothing to gain, and everything to lose
    ..
It’s not like he ever got caught taking steroids. His first suspension was Adderall, if you can consider that a PED it’s because it allegedly helps your focus. lane has NO HISTORY Taking anything that increases his muscle and power..and typically the motivation for taking steroids is to make more money. Well he just signed a new deal so he is years away having to worry about performing to make more money, very little to gain, and a brand new contract to lose…. So No, I don’t believe he tried to get away with taking steroids… I could believe that a year before he signed a new deal, or two or three years from now, but the timing of it says he had very little to gain by purposely risking a 10 game suspension and a sweet contract
    ..
if he checked all the ingrediamts and there was something in the pill that wasn’t supposed to be in there then we can kill Lane for it, because it literally could happen to any player since they all take supplements.
    ..
This man has NEVER tested positive for taking anything that artificially boosts his power and makes him bigger, his only failed test was Adderall which helps his focus and does NOT make you Stronger… Yet all of the sudden, now that he is in his 4th year, just signed a contract securing his families financial future, he decides now that he isn’t strong enough so he has to try and cheat to get stronger and RISK EVERYTHING? They’re statistics available from the FBI. I’m not racist, and honestly it’s kind of lame to just throw around that label. When you decide to sit down for the anthem, at least do it for a good reason. Kaepernick’s reason is garbage and doesn’t deserve a shred of respect.

We should probably just keep it focused on football. But just because you criticize something doesn’t mean you don’t love it (e.g., everyone on this board talking about the eagles).

I’m reluctant to judge anyone without knowing the full extent of their thinking, but I do share a similar line of thought as yours. I never like it when athletes use the field as a platform to express their religious beliefs (my one and only displeasure with Reggie White), and I feel the same way about politics and other personal passions. There are plenty of avenues for a wealthy public figure to communicate with the general public, and plenty of ways to use wealth and access to better the lives of others. I think what Kaepernick did was more symbolic than significant. If I find out the guy has a history of financial support of peace and justice organizations, I might well reconsider.

  140. 140 Nailed It! said at 5:50 PM on August 27th, 2016:

So we want athletes to be transparent about basically everything but when he opens his mouth in a form of protest that is where you draw the line? Get out of here, your for it until someone does something you disagree with. That’s not freedom, that’s not liberty that is selfishness.

Maybe I didn’t make myself clear.

I’m saying an athlete is welcome to his/her opinions and should express them. In fact, their wealth and public position puts them in an enviable position because they can make a difference in people’s lives. I’m not talking about any specific issues at all, just the milieu for advocacy. My personal opinion is the time and place for professional athletes to do this is before or after the proverbial whistle begins and ends the event.

Or, maybe you and I just disagree. In which case, no hard feelings.

Look at all the attention the issue is getting can’t buy that type of publicity. Should a christian not wear a cross?

  145. 145 P_P_K said at 6:23 PM on August 27th, 2016:

I see what you mean about publicity. Unfortunately, though, I think too much of the ensuing discussion is about Kap and not about the issues. Your point about the cross is a good one. There’s a line and, honestly, I’m not sure where to draw it or, more honestly, if I’m even remotely wise enough to draw it.

It’s a country of individuals – everyone has the right to be and express themselves and their viewpoints (subject to limitations). If only everyone could be as civil as we are on this board!

It is, indeed, a pleasure to discuss and, even more, sometimes vigorously disagree with other mature individuals. If only the body politic was more like Iggles Blitz.

One of the times I feel the most patriotic is when the Anthem is played at the beginning of a sporting event. In spite of the shortcomings our country may have, we also have the freedom, prosperity, and leisure to gather without government interference for such events. It’s an exercise of many of the liberties provided by the Bill of Rights. I’m glad to live in a country that is so relatively free from oppression that I can frequently take these rights for granted.

I think that’s the perfect time to remember that not everyone has the same interaction with this country.

Oh calm down, if your whole patriotic nationalism comes from singing the national anthem at a sporting event then you have some growing up to do. He has a right to express himself as much as anyone.

  153. 153 Sean Stott said at 5:39 PM on August 27th, 2016:

Yea, if you want to protest the anthem to bring up an issue, that means that we get to discuss the issue you’re bringing up. In this case, it’s an incoherent, immature argument that reveals how dumb he is.

He was protesting the mistreatment of African American men and women in this country currently. How can you say that this is immature or incoherent? Are you claiming they are not mistreated? Has the boot of the black man been holding you back? Or are you just immature because he did something you don’t like?
