Wentz Wagon Keeps Rolling

Road game. Monday Night Football. Solid defense with veteran coaches. None of that mattered as Carson Wentz and the Eagles went to the Windy City and kicked the Bears butts. The final score was 29-14, but the game wasn’t really that close.

Wentz is the headliner. He went 21-34-190 with a TD and no picks. Those numbers aren’t compelling, but watch the tape and you’ll come away incredibly impressed with how Wentz played. The Bears blitzed him and got some pressure. Wentz moved around in the pocket better than he did last week. He looked more comfortable. He took some big hits, but kept his eyes downfield to find open receivers. He made a great throw to Jordan Matthews that should have been a long TD. That went through Matthews hands. There was another play over the middle for 15 or so yards that got erased by an alignment penalty. Wentz could have had another 50 or so yards and another TD.

The Eagles came out throwing the ball. They went to an empty set and spread the field. Some people wondered about this, but Doug Pederson did it by design. He wanted to give Wentz some simple, easy throws that would move the chains and get him into a good rhythm. The Eagles marched down the field, but had to settle for a FG. Wentz had Brent Celek open for a score, but the DB made a great play to get a finger on the ball.

Wentz’s TD pass came on a quick screen to TE Trey Burton in the 2nd half. Simple play near the goal line, but it was blocked well and Burton didn’t hesitate. He made sure he got into the end zone. Burton was the #2 TE with Zach Ertz out injured. Burton caught 5 passes for 49 yards and played well.

The Eagles O-line had an up and down game. C Jason Kelce really struggled. He was a mess in the 1st half. Kelce seemed to play better in the 2nd half, but I’ll need to watch the tape to know for sure. The OTs did a good job in pass protection. The line struggled to generate holes for runners. Eagles finished 32-100 on the ground, but it wasn’t pretty. Ryan Mathews had a 30-yard run, but his real highlight was a TD where he started up the middle, got stuffed and then went wide to the right. Great effort. The Bears stoned him up the middle, but Mathews wasn’t wrapped up so he went outside and found space. Love that effort at the goal line.

Jim Schwartz didn’t have starting CB Leodis McKelvin, but that didn’t matter too much. The Eagles gave up one TD. That drive was mainly due to a 49-yard pass play to Alshon Jeffrey where rookie Jalen Mills bit on a fake and got burned. Mills seemed to play well for the most part. Jeffrey was 4-49 beyond that one play.

The DL had a good game. Brandon Graham had a sack and TFL. Rookie Destiny Vaeao had a huge impact. He had a strip-sack of Jay Cutler that also knocked the Bears QB out of the game. Fletcher Cox came free up the middle and pressured Cutler into throwing a pass right to Nigel Bradham. That got returned inside the 5-yard line and set up a score. Bennie Logan had a FF of his own. You know it is a good game when the DTs have 2 FFs.

STs was interesting. Caleb Sturgis suffered cramps and missed an extra point. He also nailed a 53-yard FG. Donnie Jones did not have his best night. He had a 33-yard punt early in the game. He kicked the ball to the middle of the field late and Eddie Royal returned it for a TD. Jones might have been told to kick there so it isn’t fair to completely blame him for that. Josh Huff did a good job covering punts earlier in the game.

The Eagles are 2-0. Both wins are by 15 or more points. And yet the team is starting a rookie QB and hasn’t played a great game so far. Mistakes each week kept the games closer than they should have been.

Playing the Steelers next Sunday will be a huge test for the Eagles and will give us an idea just how good this team might be. I’m not surprised they are 2-0. Neither the Browns nor the Bears are good. Still, to win so handily with a young QB, new coach and new schemes is pretty darned impressive. It sure looks like the Eagles are a better team than most anticipated.

I thought I saw Mills make some decent defensive plays including a nice tipped ball away from Jeffrey in the end zone. Despite the huge bomb to AJ he missed near the beginning I thought he did pretty well considering he’s a seventh-round rookie CB playing his first game in the NFL. Or maybe I’m just so used to terrible secondary play from this team that I’m grading on a very generous curve.

Missed tackle in space on a short throw.. He was also beat by Kevin White (while he had a handful of jersey IIRC) on the ball that went too far out of the endzone. I’m not really reassured, but hey as you said he’s a 7th rounder.

Watching this offense after watching Chip’s offense is sort of like watching art, or a waterfall. Sure it isn’t pretty, but its so well thought out, and organic. Everything about Chip’s was herky jerky and unnatural. Sure Chip’s offense might end up being one of the best of all time, but I prefer Doug’s 100x out of 100x.

The motion play lob pass to JM was so pretty. That could of gone for a touchdown if the pass came out a little quicker.

Sure there is a WHOLE lot to work on and make better, but the more complex slowed down offense is just awesome to watch.

  6. 6 laeagle said at 1:37 AM on September 20th, 2016:

what I love about it is the consistency. On a good day, Chip’s O was an A-level offense. On a bad day, an F was generous. it was all over the place. Pederson seems to be running a solid B+ offense that doesn’t fluctuate. On a good day, it’s not far off from a bad day. Just solid. That’s a refreshing change, and frankly, over the long haul, I think that wins you more football games. Partner that with a great defense and you’ve got something special. Add in a gamechanger at QB and who knows. I”m not saying this is a championship year, just that I think Pederson’s approach is less sexy, but worth so much more in the end.

Chip’s O is like that hot crazy girl who steals all your shit and takes a dump in your fish tank. Doug’s O, you bring that home to your mom.

  17. 17 Mr. Magee said at 2:01 AM on September 20th, 2016:

The big pass play that Mills gave up was his responsibility, but that ball was a floater that should have been picked off by Malcom Jenkins… Where he was and why he didn’t make the play I don’t know, but that was not a good play by him.

Ags made a very nice catch on a left-side roll out by Wentz, but he had two balls knocked out of his hands on key pass plays (one was in the end zone) that a #1 wide receiver has to come down with (at least one of them, anyway)… Time for him to hit the weight room, I guess.

  18. 18 KillaKadafi said at 2:11 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Ags should have come down with the one in the endzone, I’m surprised they didn’t give that route to JM instead as it definitely required a bit of strength which, as you pointed out, is something Ags does not have.

With the first one, he was unlucky, the pass was slightly underthrown and the contact with CB’s helmet was perfect from a defensive standpoint.

interestingly, in each of the games this year JM and Ags have both been given an opportunity each for a TD.

  19. 19 Mr. Magee said at 8:28 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I thought we were grooming DGB for that role, but he hasn’t had much of a chance since making that play in the preseason

  20. 20 KillaKadafi said at 2:50 PM on September 20th, 2016:

I think while the opportunity to throw the fade to DGB has presented itself, once the ball has been snapped Wentz has decided to go another way for one reason or another, as his confidence grows in himself and DGB i’m sure we will see that throw quite often

  21. 21 Jernst said at 1:51 PM on September 20th, 2016:

I expected Wentz to be good. I didn’t expect zero interceptions through 2 games.

  29. 29 bill said at 8:49 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I didn’t expect him to be good to start. I’ve been a doubter all along. But 0 interceptions with, IIRC, 70+ attempts through 2 games? And plenty of those downfield? That’s impressive.

Some of it is luck. But it’s the kind of luck you get when you’re good. I fully expect him to throw his share of picks this year, especially with how aggressive he is with tight windows. But he’s going to make his share of big plays with that aggression, too.

  30. 30 RogerPodacter said at 9:17 AM on September 20th, 2016:

its not the kind of luck that we had with Foles with his great season, where some of his passes went right to the opposing team only to be dropped.
Wentz hasn’t had too many ‘near INTs’ that i can recall. the one bullet of a pass that he really thread into matthews vs the browns in double coverage could have gone the other way with some luck for the browns. thats all i can really think of.

  31. 31 Jernst said at 1:55 PM on September 20th, 2016:

Really its not even luck if it’s a perfect pass. The only thing people didnt like about those throws was that they HAD to be perfect to not end up INTs…but he ended up throwing perfect passes. Still hasnt thrown a complete head scratcher that goes right to a defender.

  32. 32 Dude said at 9:24 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Luck has nothing to do with it. None of his passes have come close to being picked off so far.

  33. 33 bill said at 10:21 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Eh. Keep making those types of throws, and sooner or later you’re going to be an inch off, or the guy’s going to be a bit faster than you expected, and you’ll get picked. It’s the NFL. Like I said, it’s not blind luck (of the type RP references below re: Foles), but the fact that it has not happened yet is somewhat down to random distribution (i.e., you can flip heads 10 times in a row, but over enough attempts, you’re going to approach the true probability). I’m not even criticizing his decision making. Just noting that, inevitably, there will be a cost. As of now, it seems like it will be a significant net benefit, but it shouldn’t be expected to be an unalloyed benefit.

  34. 34 Jernst said at 1:56 PM on September 20th, 2016:

Yea…but, as you say, there’s a big difference between being lucky (threw the ball right at a defender and he just dropped the INT) and it simply being unlikely that he’ll play a 15 year career without having a pass picked off.

He hasn’t been lucky. He’s been good. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll continue to be so perfect.

  35. 35 BobSmith77 said at 9:36 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Honestly I don’t remember him forcing a single throw into double coverage that was ill-advised from the start either with an elevated risk of an INT.

  41. 41 nicolajNN said at 3:20 AM on September 20th, 2016:

My only complaint with Doug is not using Matthews more in the run game early on, when it didn’t work with Sproles, but I guess they had either seen a match-up they liked, or it was part of the hurry-up offence, being able to flex out Sproles when going with empty backfield

  42. 42 eagleyankfan said at 7:51 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I don’t understand the infatuation with Sproles. He’s not a rb designed to do what Pederson is using for. Even the announcer asked the other announcer if he would have used Sproles in that spot. Sproles has an incredible gift. He needs to be used properly. Maybe though, RM isn’t picking up the offense? Not sure, but I’ll assume they will work it out as the season goes on….(still love Sproles, but as a 3rd down screen/catching rb. keep his legs fresh)

  43. 43 BlindChow said at 8:39 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Maybe they got fed up with Mathews just finding the biggest group of guys and running into it every time, instead of looking for the hole.

  44. 44 Tom33 said at 9:29 AM on September 20th, 2016:

They were trying to catch the D off guard.

  47. 47 bill said at 10:25 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I think this was a classic Reid play design. The idea is to catch the D off-guard. Probably one of the last things they were expecting was for Sproles to plunge up the middle. Sometimes Andy designed plays that were, on paper, ridiculous, because the blocking etc. wasn’t where the play was going. But it worked for him, because the defense would get totally fooled. I remember watching some of those designs in the early days of All-22 blogging. The plays are beautiful when they work, and really ugly when they don’t. Not sure I’m a big fan of them, as they are “gimmicky,” but used sparingly, they’re probably good constraints to keep in your book.

  48. 48 RogerPodacter said at 9:18 AM on September 20th, 2016:

my complaint was using injury-prone Ryan Mathews and old man Sproles so late in the game when we have Barner and Smallwood active on the bench. give the young guys some carries! rest the vets!

  49. 49 wee2424 said at 9:43 AM on September 20th, 2016:

They started out the game by throwing. They were trying to catch the D off guard by making them think they were going to pass again with Sproles in there. Wentz may have audibled to the run.

I don’t hate the Sproles runs up the middle as much as some just because I see what they were trying to do.

  50. 50 stephenstempo said at 1:09 PM on September 20th, 2016:

With the amount of freedom Wentz seems to have (crazy) it could be just that Pederson likes keeping Sproles on the field for audibles and hot reads and then if wentz audibles into a run so be it.

  51. 51 wee2424 said at 1:19 PM on September 20th, 2016:

I think that’s exactly what happened. I don’t think Doug was consistently calling for Sproles up the middle, it looked like an audible.

  52. 52 Media Mike said at 5:28 AM on September 20th, 2016:

  53. 53 Will Mahoney said at 6:07 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I don’t thinks Ags were as bad since the DB had a hand in there, but he still needs to come away with that deep ball even if it was underthrown.

And one was a blatant PI

Matthews…just smh. Cant catch the easy ones.

  54. 54 Dan said at 8:03 AM on September 20th, 2016:

He absolutely needs to catch both of those, theres no excuse. The one that was PI was a third and excluded.

  55. 55 Jernst said at 2:09 PM on September 20th, 2016:

He drops the first deep pass that was underthrown before the DB makes any contact with either him or the ball. The fade in the end zone was a little more understandable, but a top WR makes that catch 90% of the time.

  56. 56 Dave said at 7:18 AM on September 20th, 2016:

However, I am significantly worried by his health if he keeps being hit like that. Comparisons with Big Ben make even more sense that I consistently see him getting hit hard.

Also, I’ve pretty much given up on Jordan Mathews becoming a reliable target now, while I admire his toughness his drop rate has been consistently high since he entered the league. Watching Jeffery made me envious.

A few things that jump out: Last season after 2 games Eagles were 0-2, a not-ready-for-prime-time Bradford was floundering, and turnovers made 3 and out look like progress. After 2 games the Eagles had thrown 5 picks (I think), had a punt blocked for a TD, and coughed up the ball a couple times. So far, a poised rookie has thrown NO interceptions, the offense has suffered NO turnovers, and thanks to the mediocrity of first 2 opponents, Eagles make it to 2-0.
…On the other hand, It ought to be clear to Eagles FO that a receiver that can’t get open but can make catches in traffic and hold onto the ball is needed on an offense that features WR’s who can get open but struggle to hold onto the ball. I’m sure DP remembers Avant, and everybody remembers Anquan Boldin. Also, I think HR should use an early pick in the draft to get an angry bully to insert at guard, and if that guy has a twin that knows how to snap the ball…

  78. 78 Birds4Life said at 11:01 AM on September 20th, 2016:

This isn’t Chip Kelly’s Eagles anymore. Just because a guy isn’t an all-world blocker, doesn’t mean he won’t play. Ertz has made a lot of progress with his blocking this season as well. Plus if we have an OL that can block, its not as important for the TE to be a good blocker. We are good at the position, we have more areas of pressing need than to waste a pick on a blocking TE.

I don’t think his suspension will get overturned, but I do wonder if it gets shortened since the NFLPA’s app declared it safe. Fingers crossed.

I’m incredibly impressed by Wentz. He commented last night that it doesn’t look like I’m watching a rookie. I do fully expect a regression game next week, though. The Steelers are a vastly superior team to what he has faced so far.

Kelce is a liability at this point. He looks like a blocking sled. Granted we’ve come up against 2 base 3-4 teams and has had to play head up on a nose tackle, but he’s been awful. This week will be the 3rd straight game against a 3-4 base team, so I expect more of the same. Problem is that with Johnson’s suspension, I don’t think you want to shuffle linemen around so much you end up with 3 guys in new positions, with 2 new starters (I’d assume Seumalo and Wiz would be the guys).

Got to hand it to all the QB nerds on our coaching staff. Nobody thought Wentz would be ready for this on draft night, not even the Eagles. They did one heck of a job fast tracking him to success. The coaching is probably night and day between Wentz and Goff.

He only looks like a rook in one situation. He hasn’t adjusted to the speed of some of these big men. When he scrambles he clearly thinks he’s going to get a first down, those gaps he is running to are closing lightning fast, and he tries to double down and force it and takes a big hit rather than realizing the error and sliding to fight another day

  103. 103 RobNE said at 9:22 AM on September 20th, 2016:

I saw a chart on Twitter comparing the two staffs. Ours are all former QB’s who were QB coaches. Rams is Fisher (defensive coach), OC (I forget, but never a QB or QB coach) and the QB coach is in his first year (Weinke). Kudos to Eagles for realizing QB is so imp and building a staff around that.

Sorry I’m not smart enough to go find it and re past it here.

edit: I mean, I hope Weinke personally does well, but if you take a QB with number one overall pick how do you have a first year QB coach.

It’s funny how fast and strong he looked running the ball versus div2 talent as opposed to NFL talent. He is still an athletic QB running the ball but he isn’t going to dominate a game thst way.

I think his best comparison as far as running the ball is Luck.

  105. 105 Ark87 said at 9:43 AM on September 20th, 2016:

i think his feet will be a weapon if we’re down late and seeing prevent or some other sell out to stop the pass defense, where the weak pass rush washes to the side and opens up an open field and he can get an easy 10-15 yards. But otherwise he should probably stick to using his mobility to extend plays then throw the ball away if he can’t find anyone.

I love Doug Pederson’s playbook and play calling. It’s straight forward in the sense that it limits the number of wide receivers, uses big sets, and runs the ball. It’s kind of plodding but methodical and persistent…

But then there are these bells and whistles. I loved that misdirect toss to Ryan Matthews. Every now and then they take a well aimed deep shot. There are jet sweeps and reverses.

It’s such an amazing change from Chip Kelly’s offense which was so hurried, manic, and hit or miss. That’s an offense made up almost entirely of bells and whistles. No substance to it.

So far they have scored points during he opening drive in both weeks. The defense made adjustments week 1 that we the readjusted to. In week 2 we had two drives killed by huge penalties that only also set them back 10 but wiped out big plays.

These games could have been even more lopsided. Though the mark of a very good team would to have been not to have the set backs, in not discouraged. This team has played all 4 quarters two weeks Ina row. To me that was one of the wrost things Andy’steams did in his last 5 years.

She’s also a retired home ec teacher, so she does have serious skills.

Edit: my uncle had a funny habit of getting me random cheap jerseys. I live in Chicago, and he found a misprint Rex grossman jersey in jersey of course with the name upside down at Walmart too. Ppl around here love it.

Pederson made it sound like we opened the game in empty back sets because of something they saw (scouted) about how the Bears defended empty back sets in week 1 that the Eagles thought they could capitalize on..
    ..
Seriously, so far Pederson and his coaches look like master play callers and produced some gorgeous play design. Like im in awe of what these Offensive coaches are doing, against weak competition of course…. But the Eagles are a new team, we are a work in progress with a rookie QB and scheme changes, so while the competition level will increase, hopefully this team will also grow and improve especially as the rookie gains experience
    ..
Schwartz has been as advertised. What more do you need to say about the defense besides, so far both the starting QBs we faced came away from an Eagles game battered and injured. Keep knocking QBs out the game and we will be fine 🙂

  201. 201 Rambo said at 11:36 AM on September 20th, 2016:

Agreed! I mean honestly, we had excuses to lose both of these games, so it’s really refreshing to go in there and convincingly win. Sets up a winning expectation within our lockerroom suddenly “big” games aren’t so unwinnable. I see alot of room for improvement with us and that’s encouraging when you can win while getting better. We’re far from playing our best game I think. We have a certain “fight” about us this year. Let’s show these Steelers who we are. Stay healthy Carson!

  202. 202 Gian GEAGLE said at 12:02 PM on September 20th, 2016:

Yes sir… Quietly a lot of people are starting to realize that the Eagles have better weapons than they thought.
    .
Too many people acted like becayse we don’t have an ODB/Dez superstar weapon it meant that we have no weapons which was absurdly ignorant. look i know Agholar hasn’t looked good before this season, but by now people should have learned not to rule out a kid just because he didn’t take the league by storm as a rookie. Agholar has had a solid start to the season, and in both games he was able to burn cornerbacks deep, he also made some tough possessions catches and he isn’t even close to being done impfoving.. Jordan Mathews has the occassional drops, but that kids going to I have a BIGTIME season. Dez Bryant dropped the same TD pass jordan dropped last night. Jordan will be a stud for years to come… Wait TIL we get DGB comfortable.
    ..
Trey Burton is our secret weapon. That kid is legit. We haven’t even had Burton and Ertz on the field together yet. Not many teams have 3 Linebackers that can matchup with Burton, Ertz and sproles. It gets even harder when we add our WRs who bring some nice size and speed combo to the table
    ..
Most important, Doug and his staff are doing a fantastic job of both play calling, and design.. And for a new team, they haven’t been too bad with the penalties, Specifically we look like a Discaplined team which is a sign of a well coached team
    ..
Just like I said going into the season, I don’t know how well we can do against the elite contenders of the NFL, put people are sorely mistaken if they think we can’t be real playërs in the NFC East… Hopefully the rook can deliver a playoff birth

    ..
so dysfunctional! They let Greg Roman run the offense all offseason and then fired him as a sacrificial lamb like 6 days into the NFL season since their 2nd game was on Thursday night…. I think no matter what JMatt will never be a natural pass catcher, that being said i think it will be the way they use him and move him around that will dictate his conversion rates…. still though that drop was so bad.

Sidenote: Is it me or does it seem like the smaller (closer to 6′) WR’s seem to have the better hands in the league? Due to the types of routes they run and being higher percentage throws? Should we consider JMatt a “tweener” WR, where he isn’t quick enough to be a total slot-WR, and not dominate enough in the air to be a redzone/flanker force?

Conclusion: I think JMatt might be one of the better “all around” receivers, a grinder, but not the ALL-ENCOMPASSING threat of Odell/Antonio. Bottom line the kid is a smart football player and won’t have to be told to run out of bounds at the end of the game, but he’s gotta catch it.

    ..
I would have rather played the Steelers later in the year after we had some time to Gel, but I am excited about the opportunity to really get a good idea where we are testing ourselves against one of the legit contenders. Steelers will be a great early season measuring stick in a few different areas.
    .
This could be the best offense we face all year. Deangelo and that steelers run game looks really good and you can’t find a more deadly QB/WR tandem than ANTONIO/Ben.
    .
This is a scary match up, but it’s also an opportunity for guys to step up and earn some respect. The LINC is going to be rocking, I won’t be heartbroken to lose against a great team, but i hope we can at least Hang with them and make it a game..

If he was truly a 4.61 corner he’d be trailing everyone down the field. That is basically not enough speed for a corner unless you’ve got a lot of size to make up for it. But yes, you can understand why teams would be suspicious — he was not a pure corner in college, and missed a lot of his senior year too with a fractured leg.

Second, maybe it’s best left to the natural order of the masses and the media to spontaneously christen Wentz — the way the (now-defunct) Phila Evening Bulletin, once upon a time, fell upon the Flyers’ great nickname of Broad Street Bullies.

The obvious choice is Can’t Miss Wentz.

For those recovering from the late night enjoying the game, I will spell it out:

Carson is from North Dakota, known pretty much only for the movie Fargo.
    Fargo backwards is Go far.
Go far sounds an awful lot like gopher.
Gopher makes everyone immediately think of Caddy Shack.
Caddy Shack invokes images of Bill Murray.
Bill Murray is famously beloved by The Chive community.
Chives are excellent with capers and lox on bagels.
    Bagels are synonymous with NYC.
NYC is the home of the iconic Statue of Liberty.
Lady Liberty is made of copper.
Copper reminds everyone of the old gangster line, “You’ll never take me alive, Copper!”
Old time gangsters were known for propositioning local entrepreneurs with “can’t miss deals.”
    Hence, Can’t Miss Wentz.

There was also some YouTube video, but using that is a bit of a stretch.

I remember an imperious Ray Rhodes who had rather intense PC’s, and I remember Andy Reid, who looked like he hated having to hold PC’s, and then there was the Chippah, whose PC’s were exercises in showmanship. Rhodes had a tone and manner that was as serious as a heart attack. He used to eat maalox like it was candy. With AR, I could never tell if he was insecure or just flat out resented the press corps. His PC’s were almost hard to watch. Kelly, on the other hand was an entertainer who traded jokes and tales with the press. He never gave up much detail about himself, and you never had the feeling you really knew the guy from watching him conduct a press conference.
Doug Irvin Peterson: comfortable in his skin, unpretentious, willing to take questions and answer them in a straight-forward manner. Open to an extent about what he wants, what he does, why he does what he does. I love this guy.

I really don’t expect Pederson to take a different approach. When Rhodes won he was intense about the next game. When AR won he had injury report and “time’s yours”, Kelly was a sideshow, and he was more upbeat when he won, but still a diversion win or lose. How the press and fans react to Pederson after a loss or consecutive losses – that will almost certainly change. If Chauncy the gardener ever became president, his nuggets of wisdom would become evidence of a vacuous dullard. But Pederson, I expect will just explain what he is doing and why he’s doing it. That will not suffice for a portion of the audience. So be it.

Westbrook was great on TV and is an all-time Eagles great. Why was he fired? There’s got to be more to the story.

Also, I get that they can’t keep everyone, but whatever happened to Vaughn Hebron. He was actually very good. If my memory is correct, he did a good job of correcting the Gov and keeping him in check.

It’s weird that he got “fired.” Don’t they usually say “let go” in normal situations?

You know things are going good when Sam Bradford has the 2nd highest QB rating in the NFL and nobody, not even the Roseman/Lurie haters, is second guessing the trade.

Been playing QB roulette for too long — I’ve been hurt before. Not sure who to trust. My heart is saying yes, but my mind is saying no.

Not expecting to win as we get to the middle of the season, but if Wentz can keep looking competent i’ll be happy.

I also really liked $ammy Dollaz

Sam was never the marrying type. Time to settle down with a good guy like Wentz.

That would be nice if Sam finally lived up to his billing at Minnesota, and Wentz also turned out to be a good player. Kind of like when two friends of yours break up and then find their soulmates. (insert appropriate emoticon here)
