Eagles Add an OT

The Eagles didn’t stay put at 25. They moved up to pick 22 and took OT Andre Dillard from Washington State.

Dillard played LT for the Cougars and projects there in the NFL. Dillard is 6-5, 315. He has great feet. Very smooth. Natural pass protector. Plays under control and he’s smart. So many young OL seem to panic when pass-blocking. Not Dillard.

He will need work as a run blocker. WSU isn’t a running team so that part of his game will need to be developed. For now, he can be effective by positioning.

The pick surprised me. Dillard was my top-rated OL and I didn’t anticipate him falling anywhere close to this. I hadn’t seriously considered him for the Eagles. The pick caught me off guard.

The Eagles did have to trade a 4th and 6th to move up and get him.
