Pick 21

We all want a good WR to be on the board at pick 21. I’m starting to think that might happen.

I feel pretty confident that these guys will go before 21.

QB – 3

WR – 2

OT – 4

DE – 2

DT – 2

LB – 1

CB – 4

That leaves two spots. You could have another QB. You could have another DE. There will probably be another WR. Another LB is even possible.

No guarantees of course, but I’m feeling better about the Eagles chances of getting a WR at 21.

I’ve been studying OL prospects all day and watched a couple of LSU games. I couldn’t help but notice some guy wearing #2 making a bunch of catches and making plays. If Justin Jefferson is on the board at 21, he would be a big upgrade for the Eagles passing attack. He is fun to watch. And a damn good player.

Who do I want?

This guy.

Jerry Jeudy averaged 17.2 yards per catch for his career. He delivered a lot of big plays. Jeudy has the speed and skill to get open deep and deliver a long pass play. He also has great RAC ability. You can throw a short pass to him and watch him create a big play. The Eagles could use help in both areas.

CeeDee Lamb is my top rated receiver, but I don’t see any realistic way he falls to 21. I could see Jeudy slipping.

Teams love Lamb and I’m sure he’s the top guy on most boards. Henry Ruggs is the most explosive player and it feels like someone will nab him.

I can see some team falling in love with Jefferson. Character. Production. Combine speed. Positional ability. He is a terrific prospect.

I certainly don’t think it is likely that Jeudy falls, but it feels like it is at least possible. I’d be ecstatic if he was there at 21.

Just give me one of these top receivers and I’ll be a happy camper.

One bit of sad news. The Eagles Message Board is shutting down on April 30th. Traffic has really fallen off with the rise of Twitter, Facebook, BGN, Reddit and other great Eagles sites.

I’ll write a post on the EMB after the draft. That place was like a cyber home to me from 2003-2010 or so. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
