Gameday – PHI at GB

Ready for another fun Sunday? The Eagles are going up against arguably the best team in the NFC. This certainly looks like anohter loss, but there is a way the Eagles can win this game.

Run the ball. A lot.

Last year the Eagles won in Lambeau and piled up 176 yards on the ground. The 1-2 punch of Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders got the best of the Packers defense. Carson Wentz only threw for 160 yards, but that was enough as the Eagles focused on the ground game.

The team recently brought Howard back and he is active today.

Green Bay can struggle with run defense at times so last year’s offensive strategy should also be this year’s offensive strategy.

Run the ball a lot.

When Wentz does need to throw, feed Fulgham. Travis Fulgham has been too quiet in recent games. The Eagles need to make him the focus of the passing game.

We could see a lot of 12 personnel in this game. Green Bay loves to play a lot of Dime. Put in a couple of TEs and run at them. Zach Ertz is back from injury and will play a decent amount of snaps. It will be interesting to see if he and Wentz have better chemistry. They struggled early in the season.

As for the Eagles defense, Darius Slay is active. You can bet he’ll be on Devante Adams a lot. Adams overwhelmed Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox last year.

This will be a big day for the DL. They must pressure Aaron Rodgers for the Eagles to have any chance. The Packers only have 9 turnovers all season long. They don’t make mistakes very often, but the Eagles would likely need a takeaway or two to win this game.

A win would provide a temporary respite from all the talk of firing, benching and blaming that has dominated the media in recent weeks.

Heck, a competitive loss might do the trick.

A bad loss will just be a log on the fire and keep the pressure on everyone involved.

Let’s hope the Eagles at least entertain us.
