It will be good to add CJ Gardner-Johnson back to the defense. He’s a veteran player and a playmaker. You want guys like that on the field heading into the playoffs. We’ll have to wait and see if he’s used as a safety or in the slot.
Josh Sweat won’t play this week so Quinn could eat up some of his snaps. The Eagles like to rotate DL to keep everyone fresh. Quinn hasn’t done much since coming to the Eagles so you know he’s eager to get on the field and contribute. He’s only played in two playoff games so most of his career has been spent on mediocre to bad teams. This is his chance to help a good team secure a division title and the #1 seed.
Kern had to be added. He couldn’t be brought up from the practice squad any more.
Losing Robinson isn’t a big deal. He hasn’t played this year. Bradley is a solid STs player. You’d rather keep him, but you only have so many options.
I was surprised at the Opeta move. The Eagles like him, but as with Bradley, they needed a spot and something had to give. I’m sure they’ll bring Opeta back as soon as they can.
Now for the wild news of the day.

Webb is a big pocket passer type who is 27 years old and has never thrown a pass in the NFL. The Giants drafted him in the third round back in 2017. He is older than Patrick Mahomes, in case you need some perspective.
Webb was with Brian Daboll in Buffalo from 2019-2021 before joining him in NY this year.
Why play him?
Tyrod Taylor is the backup QB right now. We all know Taylor and what he can do. Nobody knows a thing about Webb, unless they’ve seen him in practice. Could he be the backup next year? Is he worth keeping around? Daboll will take a chance and see what his guy can do.
I’m sure the Eagles pass rush is thrilled with this. Taylor would have been able to run away from them. Webb gives them a big target to go attack and someone who isn’t as likely to be elusive.
The flip side is that the Eagles can be vulnerable to accurate pocket passers who focus on moving the chains. We just saw Andy Dalton go 18 for 22 against the Eagles defense. Webb has never started a game so that makes an enormous difference. He’ll be learning on the fly and that will likely result in some bad reads and bad throws. If Webb goes 18 for 22, Jonanthan Gannon should go to the Himalayas and live as a monk.
