If you have abandonment issues, do not read this. For those of you who enjoy suffering, here is a buffet that will fill you up.

Eagles losing another defender: safety Marcus Epps has reached agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders, per source.

Three-year deal for $29 million for Andre Dillard and the #Titans, source says. https://t.co/9GkIlKEBNs

Source: The #Bears are on the board, signing star former #Eagles LB TJ Edwards to a 3-year deal.

None of these bums were any good. They won’t be missed.
I’m not in denial. I’m not in denial.
Hargrave hurts, but that’s just too much money for the Eagles. Congrats to him. He was a good player for his three seasons in Philly and developed into an outstanding pass rusher.
I had very mixed feelings on Edwards. I wanted him back at the right price. I wish him well with the Bears.
Epps developed into an effective starter. He just didn’t become the kind of playmaker you ideally want at safety. The emergence of Reed Blankenship made him expendable. The Eagles still need another safety. Maybe they find a way to keep CGJ. Or maybe there is a veteran they’ve got their eyes on. We’ll see.
Dillard is coming off his best season, which isn’t saying much. I do give him credit for sticking with it and getting better. The Eagles got comfortable enough with him to put Dillard at OG. That would have been a laughable idea two years ago. It is bizarre for him to go to the Titans, arguably the most physical team in the league. That will either bring out the best in Dillard or Mike Vrabel will want to jump off a cliff.
There was some good news.
I have put much thought into whether it makes sense to play another season. After talking it over with my wife and many other friends and family, I have decided to return for another year. Thank you to all my supporters and detractors for fueling me, I ain’t fucking done yet!

I expected this, but still nice to see. Especially nice on a day when so many are headed out of town. Kelce will be the C and that means Cam Jurgens will take over at RG, assuming Isaac Seumalo signs elsewhere (as expected).
Some people are talking about the loss of Hargrave and Edwards and pointing at Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean as their replacements. Not true. Davis will play NT, taking over for Linval Joseph. Dean is going to play WLB, replacing Kyzir White. The Eagles need a DT and a MLB.
There were some DL I had interest in. Unfortunately Zach Allen and DeMarcus Walker have signed elsewhere. Both are 6-4, 280 and pass rushers. The Eagles have Milton Williams with a similar size and skillset already in place. Maybe they want to add a bigger DL to help with run D. Or they might want another pass rusher and just be waiting for the draft. It is hard to read them with no moves to study. No FA visits. No hard FA rumors.
The word of the week is patience. Howie Roseman doesn’t have the resources to do what he wants. He has to react to the market and look for the right opportunities. I’m sure he’s as miserable as Eagles fans right now. You hate building a great team only to see them picked off one by one. It is especially frustrating to lose Hargrave to the Niners. Their DL is absolutely loaded right now.
One of the mistakes the Eagles made in between 2018 after they won the Super Bowl and 2020 when they went 4-11-1 was overrating/overpaying their own players. I think that what we have seen from them to start FA is that lessons were learned from that experience.

Valid point from Mr. Bama.
There are still plenty of good players on the market. Heck, no one has actually signed. These are all agreements. Signings don’t start until Wednesday.
It would be nice to see the Eagles do something, whether a re-signing or new addition. This is like Christmas, but all the other kids are opening presents and we’re just sitting on the couch and watching.
Give us a gift to open, Howie. Please…

The Eagles are looking good in terms of 2024 comp picks.
A projected 3, 5, 6, and 6 so far. https://t.co/JdADMMwOKr

That will get better if/when CGJ, Bradberry and Seumalo sign elsewhere.
Not the excitement you were looking for.
