Gameday – PHI at NYG

It didn’t sound like he had much interest in resting starters. He valued bouncing back over fresh legs.
That changed a little today.

Cox is healthy, but sitting. He’s been the Eagles most consistent DT this year and the team will need him ready if they are going to make any noise in the postseason. He mentioned recently how much he’d like a week off.
Fletcher Cox is inactive for the Eagles. If you listened to the @PHLY_Eagles show on Tuesday, you knew he welcomed the idea of rest.

Swift has been dealing with an illness. Putting him out there in a nasty day wouldn’t help that so Sirianni is sitting him. That means Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott and some guy named Rashaad Penny will be the RBs. Scott is the Giant killer so this works for him. You know Penny is desperate to get some touches to show what he can do.
We knew Slay would be out. He’s been working on the field in warm-ups, but the Eagles are focused on next week as far his situation. Have him ready to go for the playoffs.
You do wonder what will happen if Dallas is blowing out the Commanders. Would Sirianni pull some other key starters? We’ll have to wait and see on that. I hope Washington does their part. It would be fun for them to upset Dallas and the Eagles game to have actual meaning. All of this will happen in real time because both are 4:25 kickoffs.
I’m really interested to see how the Eagles play today. They could kick ass or lay an egg. Nothing will surprise me at this point. I really want to see the team come out and play hard and with some urgency.
Just show me something.
Give me some hope that next week could be fun.
Please.
