Andy’s Future
Posted: December 22nd, 2012 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 34 Comments »Sunday will be Andy’s home finale as HC of the Eagles. If you get a chance to give him a cheer, please do. He’s done a lot more good than bad and deserves at least a moment of appreciation for that.
What is his future?
Some think he should take a year off. I just don’t think Big Red is wired like that. I think he’ll be coaching elsewhere in 2013.
Some have asked if he could stay with the Eagles in some kind of advisory capacity. I guess that is possible. I see him as wanting to stick with coaching. He loves his players and his gameplans.
There would be some logic to taking a year and getting off the field. It would let him evaluate the way he does things. It would let him get refreshed and ready for action.
I just wonder if he sees how Bill Cowher has stepped away and might never come back. I think that notion would scare Andy. He lives for coaching.
For SB Nation Philly, I made the case for why teams should want Reid, even after a crappy 2012 season.
Where do you guys see Big Red in 2013?
