Crushing Loss
Posted: October 14th, 2012 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 130 Comments »Eagles were up 23-13. Lions tied it up, then won in OT. 4-2 was right there in the palm of our hand and we let it slip away.
Everyone wants to play the blame game. This loss is on Vick. It’s on the OL. It’s on the playcalling. It’s on the D. It’s on Castillo. It’s on the DL And so on. Forget the blame game. This loss is on the Eagles. Every part of the team had a hand in this loss.
The most disturbing part of this game wasn’t one player or coach or side of the ball. We played a dumb game and that’s what bugs me.
* Jason Babin was burned on rollout passes at least twice. Trent Cole once.
* Fletcher Cox punched someone. What the hell?
* Jason Avant didn’t get out of bounds late in the half. That might have cost us 3 points.
* Dallas Reynolds and Vick were off for 3 snaps in the 1st half.
* The coaches continually tried to run outside when it clearly wasn’t working.
* Curtis Marsh grabs a WR on 3rd/short. Jam him, don’t grab him.
And on and on and on.
The Eagles looked like a dumb team today. Andy Reid and his coaches have plenty to work on this upcoming week.
* * * * * *
I don’t mind you guys doing some ranting, but watch the language and be respectful of each other. We’re all in a bad mood right now.
