Local Draft Prospects

For my newest SB Nation Philly column, I wrote about local draft prospects the Eagles could have some interest in.  There are enough good local players that I only covered defense this time out.  Offense will be next week’s topic.

At last, some defensive tackle talk. Washburn in Temple you say; adding fuel to my fire 😀

Washburn is a really aggressive DL coach and though he employs a 1-gap system, he doesn’t always line them up in at the Nose and the 3.

From the little I have read here: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2011/1/22/1949696/the-defense, Washburn moves his DTs around a lot. I find the last clip interesting where we are in 3rd and 3 and he (Wash) doesn’t have either of his DTs line up at nose (0), or the 1 technique. How did he know we wouldn’t run up the gut?

I’m glad someone mentioned this site to me. I’ve had a longing since Igglesblog shut down. I’m surprised I didn’t see Sam or Tommy mention it on twitter or something. I guess I’ve been out of the loop.

Glad to see the new site up. I’ve just been kind of “wandering” since Igglesblog shut down.

Good article Tommy. This is going to be an interesting draft if their is still no player movement.
