BAL-PHI 2nd Half Thread

In a word:  ugh.  The Eagles have the talent to play with anyone in the league, but once again mistakes are the theme of the day.  The good news is that Michael Vick isn’t the problem.  He did throw a terrible pick, but the D bailed him out and got the ball right back.  The RBs have been the bigger issue.  Shady McCoy dropped an easy pass on 3rd/1.  Shady got hit and fumbled on 3rd/2, when we were in the Red Zone.  Bryce Brown didn’t get the hand-off cleanly and fumbled on 3rd/1 when we were once again in the Red Zone.  Barf.  We should have a minimum of 13 points.  Instead, we trail 17-7.

The defense has been inconsistent.  Biggest problem is Ray Rice running vs our Nickel.  Not sure who’s to blame for this.

We’ve outgained BAL, 222 to 179.

We’re running a balanced offense.  Shady has 14 carries.  Vick has thrown 13 passes.

We must play the run better.

We must quit turning the ball over.

We can still win, but confidence is not high.

    I don’t know the actual rule–the refs missed the spot by about a foot, but it’s not worth rsiking a time-out to challenge that.

    Surely that depends on whether they would’ve gone for it on 4th and a foot like it should’ve been. I think it would’ve been dumb and you just take the points, but wouldn’t put it past Andy to make that call.

    Or the Eagles have made some dramatic adjustment that’s caused the Ravens to go elsewhere.

    I’d expect the Ravens to start matriculating on the ground again.

    I know the ball was tipped. But Vick has to have better vision out there.

    In the 5-10 yard area, Vick seems to be struggling seeing defenders close to Eagle receivers.

    Granted, Vick could have made a better pass. And maybe Celek should have caught that ball.

    But Vick’s close-field vision seems to be sub-optimal.

    IS IT A HEIGHT PROBLEM?

    Agree with your point in the main, but I’m not sure you can put any of that INT on Vick – He hit Celek in the hands in a catchable position; all on Brent in my opinion.

    I agree… BUT… Eagles may have gotten away with quite a lot of pass interference this game (and that offensive pass interference to negate a TD…thank god!)

    This offense is very good. (loss of Kelce has to hurt, though)

    But what’s really exciting is this defense is PHYSICAL. Not a finesse group at all.

    I’ll say it again . . . I really like what M-Kendricks and Fletcher C have shown.

    And — as T-Law has said over and over — Nate Allen was great coming out of college. And, right now, we’re seeing a young guy playing like Eagles All Pro S Bill Bradley from the early ’70s.

    100% agree. I questioned Allen all offseason. I wanted us to bring someone to push him (and more so Coleman), but Allen has been playing great football. I’ll also add that Boykin has been playing great as well. Great to see some draft picks producing big.
