Was a screen play though… so in theory was the right call against a heavy rush and dropping 8 should have been the right call… players just didn’t deliver…
That was a screen designed for drop-8 coverage. Brilliant call and design, actually. Andy knew they’d let him get the short cross, the other three receivers ran right at the defenders to block. I don’t think I’ve seen that before. Perfect call against dropping 8.

From that view behind Vick, it looked like if he had thrown the ball as the receiver came out of his break, it’s an easy first down. I might have missed something though.
The Chiefs are doing an excellent job of taking away shorter passes. This is probably what did in Romo, despite Bryant being such a significant player.

Part of the issue is definitely missing Maclin. Riley Cooper isn’t really playing well as a reciever, and that’s part of the problem. Vick is having to wait for people to get open and the Chiefs aren’t exactly the sort of group that leaves clean pockets.
reid probably knows vick the best as a qb. hes game planed for the defense to bring up looks and situations that vick struggles with. hes making vick beat himself

Need to be clearer as in that Cooper isn’t running great routes, and I think the persistent need to catch balls behind him is part of that. He also does not play the ball well, if he has to move his feet.
Now, I’m not trying to defend Riley, because he’s basically just a warm body out there, but are you saying it’s Riley’s fault that some of Vick’s throws behind him were behind him, or am I just misreading you?
Not precisely. I’m saying that Riley isn’t getting open quickly enough (or getting to his spot), and that aggravates poor decisionmaking by Vick when he’s under pressure. He’s also just not doing a very good job of being Bolden and bailing out bad QB play.
The big issue here is that the Chiefs aren’t having a hard time taking away the easy short passes, and the line is getting to Vick in a reasonably short period of time, usually.

Never underestimate defense touchdowns. As woeful as the Chiefs’ offense has been, they put up more points this half than the Eagles were averaging per half.
