2nd Half – PHI 14, NE 14

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a game.

The Eagles blocked a punt late in the half and ran that back for a score. That tied the game up at 14.

The defense gave up a couple of long TD drives, but also had several stops and has mostly played well. Penalties have been an issue on offense and defense.

Darren Sproles is playing very well and the Eagles are doing just enough to keep this game close.

Very encouraging 1st half. The team is playing with energy and emotion. We’ll see if that’s enough to win the game or just keep it close.

So far, so good.

    After the last two weeks, staying even with the Patriots (especially when giving up those penalties) is a major improvement.

    Still, it’s basically back to the frustratingly inconsistent team we had before Bradford got injured.

    Its going better than expected! And yet, you still sit back and feel so bad about all these untimely drive-killing penalties that presumably will never stop and the slants and crossers that are always open. The best thing in the first half for me is that Kelly finally seems to acknowldge that Murray is not good. The worst is that Maxwell is still playing off 5 yards behind the line to gain, betting everything on outside leverage. These two free agents acquisitions just appear to be bad decisions that are hurting this team and might hurt them for years to come in terms of the money involved..

    Both players are guaranteed one more year here, after that they can be cut loose if desired. We’d eat some dead money but they would still be significant cap savings starting in 2017.
