Gameday – PHI at TB
Posted September 28th, 2025 | No Comments »The Eagles are in Tampa to try and give the Bucs their first loss of the season. Both teams are 3-0 and this game is a chance for both to make a statement. The Bucs want to let the rest of the league know they are a legit Super Bowl contender. The Eagles want to show everyone that the last couple of losses to Tampa are long gone and the Eagles are the better team.
Injuries are going to be a key factor so let’s look at that now.
Eagles inactives:
Adoree’ Jackson
Azeez Ojulari
Sam Howell
Drew Kendall
Xavier Gipson— Zach Berman (@ZBerm) September 28, 2025
Kelee Ringo will get his first start at CB this year. He’s got a chance to show that he’s ready to be on the field. He doesn’t need to shut people down and make huge plays. Ringo just needs to keep things in front of him, tackle well and make plays if they come his way. He doesn’t need to force things.
In a bit of a surprise, Ogbo Okoronkwo is active over Azeez Ojulari. This is probably a reward for being good in practice. Patrick Johnson is also active, but that is likely more to do with STs. New WR/KOR Xavier Gipson will sit. They don’t need him as much with Will Shipley being active. It will be interesting to see how involved he is in the offense. Shipley got off to a good start before getting hurt.
Tampa will have WRs Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka on the field. Tristan Wirfs will be the LT. Baker Mayfield has a minor arm issue, but will play.
Let’s talk about what the Eagles need to do to win.
- The OL must play better. They were bad in the first half last week, but improved in the second half. They must build on that.
- Stay aggressive on offense.
- Handle the blitz well. This is on Hurts, the OL, the backs and the receivers. Everyone has to be on the same page and execute well.
- Tackle well. Bucky Irving is a shifty RB and is dangerous in space. Eagles were sloppy last week. They need to be better today.
- Rush under control. Go get Baker, but he is a good scrambler so you must be careful when rushing.
- The Eagles turned the ball over twice in last year’s loss. Winning the turnover battle would help a lot today.
- Field position was a huge problem last week. The Rams PK is freakishly good at KOs so I don’t think it will be anything like that, but the Eagles do need to start some drives in decent field position.
Go Eagles!
