Nothing Easy
Posted December 4th, 2025 | 2 Comments »The Eagles are 8-4 and can secure a playoff spot if they win a few more games. There is plenty to be frustrated about, but the team is still in pretty good position and can finish well. But this season nothing comes easy.
The big news of the day.
Sources: Eagles DT Jalen Carter is out for Monday night’s game vs. the Chargers after undergoing a procedure this past Monday on both his shoulders. Carter now is undergoing treatment on both shoulders, and he will be considered be week to week to return. Carter wanted to be as… pic.twitter.com/5qDTAyiLUp

Reports indicate Jalen Carter underwent procedures on both shoulders, but it was likely PRP injections rather than surgery. He will miss a couple of weeks. The Eagles could keep him off IR if they need him back, but if not, he may sit out the remainder of the regular season. pic.twitter.com/2kMtIuCBdq

It is never good to lose your best defensive player as you are trying to end a 2-game losing streak. Like I said, nothing is easy this year. Carter has been up and down as he’s dealt with the shoulder issue for much of the year. He played a ton of snaps last year and has played a lot this year. That wear and tear finally caught up to him. The key is now to try to get Carter healthy for the postseason.
The Eagles still have good DTs in Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo. Byron Young is a solid role player. Now rookie Ty Robinson will have to step up and contribute. Vic Fangio could also use Jaelan Phillips and Brandon Graham at DT in passing situations.
The defense has struggled without Carter this season. Fangio needs to have a good plan and his players need to step up and play well without their most disruptive player on the field. This will be a big test for the D.

This has been a wild year for players and transactions.
OK, so if you’re keeping track at home: The Eagles have had two players retire on them this year, they brought a player out retirement and now another guy is possibly retiring after not being able to join their team. https://t.co/y2IlE9uguK

The Eagles tried to claim Slay, but Buffalo was higher on the list and got him. It sure seems like Slay wants to be an Eagle so he’s not reporting to Buffalo. It will be interesting to see if they let him go and he’s able to come here. The Bills might be willing to do that in some years, but they have to play the Eagles in a few weeks and probably don’t want to help them out.

This sounds promising.
Jordan Mailata says the Eagles run game has “got some new stuff in this week”
Also gives high praise to Saquon Barkley “he’s got the best energy, best juice, best vibes. When it’s raining out…he’s got the umbrella…I love him, man.” pic.twitter.com/usphR3vvvD

At the same time, I hesitate to trust players. They can be full of BS. I certainly hope Mailata is right and some new wrinkles help the run game come to life. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Saquon Barkley run for more than 100 yards in a blowout Eagles win.
The offense certainly needs something to change.
“It’s the worst first-down offense in the NFL.”

Dan might be overstating things a bit, but certainly not by much. If the Eagles want to do anything in January, they need the offense to be better. Not great, just better. We’ll see if the coaches figured out any solutions.
