The Right Fitterer?

Posted: January 10th, 2015 | Author: | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 622 Comments »

The Eagles are looking at someone new in the hunt for Chip Kelly’s personnel guru.

This is a move I can really get behind.

I mentioned Fitterer in a recent post I did on candidates. He makes a ton of sense for the Eagles. Fitterer has been in the business for more than 15 years so he’s got the kind of experience that Kelly needs around him. Fitterer works for a team where the coach runs the show so he’s seen up-close how that model works and what it takes to succeed. Fitterer also works for a team that is unorthodox and does things in their own way. That would help him to work with Kelly, who isn’t exactly Mr. Conventional.

Beyond that, Fitterer has scouted the western region for a long time. Kelly loved Pac-12 players, which should be just fine with Fitterer. The two of them probably know each other from Fitterer’s days of traveling to Oregon on scouting trips. That isn’t to say they’re best friends or old buddies, but they should be familiar with each other.

One of the benefits to Fitterer would be that he’s been part of the personnel staff that built the best secondary in the NFL. If he came to the Eagles, he’d be inheriting one of the worst secondaries in the league. Even better, Seattle didn’t just throw a bunch of 1st round picks out there. Richard Sherman was a 5th round pick. Kam Chancellor was a 5th round pick. Byron Maxwell was a 6th round pick. The only early pick is Earl Thomas.

Seattle has an unusual draft strategy. They obsess on athleticism. This isn’t something the Eagles have done, but Kelly might be willing to listen to Fitterer’s ideas since they have worked very well in Seattle. To be clear, this isn’t Fitterer’s personal strategy, but rather one the entire Seahawks organization believes in.

While Fitterer’s training is in college scouting, he has seen the value of trades and free agency. Seattle traded for Marshawn Lynch, Chris Clemons, and Percy Harvin. They added key free agents in Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril and Kevin Williams. They signed CB Brandon Browner from the CFL. Seattle focused on the draft, but didn’t ignore other avenues of finding talent.

And Seattle isn’t just a bunch of early picks that paid off. The team’s 3 most important players – Lynch, Sherman, and QB Russell Wilson – all came without spending 1st round picks. This is a really good roster that was built with all kinds of players from all kinds of places.

Fitterer might be happy in Seattle, but GM John Schneider is young and isn’t likely going anywhere any time soon. If Fitterer wants to climb the ladder, he’ll need to go elsewhere. He could see Chip Kelly as his version of Pete Carroll, a great coach to work with and build an elite team with.

I think Fitterer would be an excellent choice for the Eagles. He has the right background and comes from the right kind of team. Let’s hope the interview goes well and Fitterer is someone the Eagles have on their short list.

Bad news about the podcast. There were some technical issues. Jimmy and I are going to try and record a new show on Sunday night. It will have 37% more awesomeness (less Jimmy).

Fitterer seems like the best match i have seen so far, although to be fair how as a fan you know who is a good behind the scenes personal guy and a leader, who is good at fostering friends in the media (feeds them info), and who is just a cog in part of good set up is almost impossible to tell.

The fact the search is taking so long shows the Eagles had no plans or prep for GM change, but with a very important draft and free agency (most important of Chips reign so far in my opinion), we need someone in place fast.

On a side note, John Harbaugh is gonna end up in the HOF. The man can coach. Great to see him have success like this.

  6. 6 shah8 said at 4:46 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Joe Flacco is just a brilliant example of just how much ceilings count. He can be a mediocre to poor QB during the regular season, but he has the ability to make perfect throw after perfect throw needed against postseason defenses.

Matt Stafford, otoh, is someone who really never shows up fully.

  7. 7 Alistair Middlemiss said at 4:55 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Totally agree. Think there are a lot of similarities between Foles and Flacco and their ceilings as QBs.

    Flacco’s Arm >>>> Nick’s Arm

  9. 9 ACViking said at 6:45 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    And Flacco’s feet?

    Fleet compared to Nick.

Seems to me, Foles’s lack of foot speed is what could keep him from reaching the next level.

    Not talking about zone-reads here.

Just moving around the field to find the open guy.

I’m a big Nick Foles guy.

Not that he can’t overcome the feet-thing.

But, jeez, if he were just a tad quicker . . . .

Saw a bunch of Brady plays where Brady’s nimbleness was a big part of him being able to make plays.

  11. 11 ACViking said at 6:59 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    That’s the word . . . nimble.

Foles, so far, seems to be lacking that nimbleness . . .

as compared to these other guys.

  12. 12 mksp said at 7:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Also, instincts for a muddy pocket.

  13. 13 Jarock said at 6:56 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Flacco’s arm is better than 90% of the nfl. Vick’s the only guy I can think of off the top of my head who’s in the same class. Doesn’t mean a thing without accuracy, anticipation, and study. Foles arm is good enough.

  14. 14 mksp said at 7:15 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Cam, Rodgers, Kaepernick, Stafford.

Do we think Nick has accuracy or anticipation? Not based on 2014.

  15. 15 Jarock said at 7:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Stafford and Cutler. Maybe Cam and Rodgers, but I’d say they’re both a step below. Great arms but not quite as good.

I disagree on Nick. Most disturbing thing about Nick for me this year was the failure of mechanics and habit of fading back ala Kevin Kolb under ghost pressure. If he gets back to stepping up and climbing the pocket, he can get back to putting up quality numbers.

  16. 16 GEAGLE said at 5:28 PM on January 10th, 2015:

They do have some similarities. Both are big QB’s who are more athletic than people think, heck Flacco was keeping the ball on zone reads back at Deleware, and he is a legit 6’6 in height…..Flacco’s Arm is one of the 3 strongest arms in the NFL. FOles has a bigger arm then Philadelphia realizes, for example all the Eagles players view Nick as a big arm talent, where as our stupid media was questioning his arm strength like a season ago… FOles has a big arm, but not on Flacco’s Elite Arm strength level…

Think stylistically FOles is a little more of a Big Ben type, than Flacco.. Big guys, stay in the pocket, take hits while delivering the ball. They look slow, but both are mobile enough to get out of the pocket, eyes down field, throw well on the run… Although FOles is much better rolling out to the rights than to the left.

  17. 17 Alistair Middlemiss said at 5:42 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The Foles has a weak arm thing us classic philly misanalysis. Nick struggles at time with his deep ball, but he did it in a limited fashion at college and has shown improvement. That does not mean he has a weak arm, he can gun the ball into tight windows when it is needed.

When I compare Foles to Flacco it is more about what he can achieve in the league rather than a pure passer comparison, although they probably thrive in similar offences. Think the Ravens are the template of how you can win with Foles as your QB.

  18. 18 jamesbondage said at 8:15 AM on January 11th, 2015:

I think the problem with Foles arm has more to do with his accuracy on his deep balls. Flacco not only has a cannon for an arm but is very accurate on his deep passes. If Foles can tweak his mechanics a bit like Brady did early during his career, there is no doubt that Foles can be a top-5/10 QB in the league.

  19. 19 shah8 said at 4:50 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Not sure Fitterer would match with Kelly…who has shown some distinct tendencies and preferences for people who can run the system, at the expense of talent. Seattle’s defense is made up of a lot of specialists when Kelly prefers generalists. So Fitterer would be coming into a distinctly different culture, no matter the surface similarities wrt to team org structure in Seattle. Schneider has considerably more input than I think Kelly would really like, as well.

  20. 20 Weapon Y said at 8:40 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Carroll has specialists in his front 7 but not the secondary. He shares Chip’s “big people beat up little people” philosophy for the back four. The difference is that Carroll’s big people actually have talent.

  21. 21 shah8 said at 11:51 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Seven is more than four, and honestly, ETIII is the only generalist who is a star.

  22. 22 Joe Minx said at 4:52 PM on January 10th, 2015:

OT & I know I posted something like this last week, but I need to get this off my chest. I was on a road trip yesterday & ended up being subjected by the driver to about 3 hours of a certain Philly sports talk show (which shall remain nameless so as not to promote it).

I have never heard such a staggeringly unbelievable amount of know-nothing dopes at one time for as long as I can remember. They spent the entire time talking about a ridiculous trade scenario for Mariota: 3 1st round picks & Fletcher Cox. As if it weren’t ludicrous enough that they would believe that was enough to move up 19 spots to #1, when someone who actually had a brain suggested that we couldn’t afford to give up Cox he was mocked by the host, who said that you can find a guy like him almost anywhere. The only caller who had any sense about them whatsoever was a Cowboys fan of all people.

I used to think there were a lot of smart Eagle fans, but when you hear stuff like this it really makes you wonder. At the very least it’s pretty damn obvious they almost never call into these shows. Just mind blowing.

  23. 23 GEAGLE said at 5:38 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Lol I say this all the time..
    ..
Honestly, I’m trying my hardest to keep my blinders on this offseason. Im trying to not hear the opinipn of the Eagles from any of our media. The only Eagles talk im trying to engage in, is on this site. I won’t even reid Kapadia work, who I find to be pretty responsible. figure if I make sure to see all the interviews in their entirety. I don’t have to read any of our media trash because I already heard the quotes they use.
    ..
I say it all the time what a stupid fanbase we are, the worst kind of stupid, the kind of stupid that thinks it’s cut ally smart and knowledgable LoL… So knowledgable that these idiots wanted to replace bennie Logan after an extremely promising year for a rookie NT
    ..
You might as well take a break for our media, from now TIL the draft, all you will hear about is how the Eagles don’t have a QB and how we have to trade half our team to start developing a rookie QB all over again… Lol but we are such a know.edgable fan base.. Lol can’t fool us! Lol donkeys…
    ..
This site kind of Sheilds us from the stupidity of Eagles nation. The quality of debates and acumen we find here, you really can’t find elsewhere in Eagles nation. The down side is this site does t really reflect the true pulse of out fanbase, because our fan base is much dumber than the convos we have here

    Amen x1000.

And I was pretty angry at my buddy by the end of the trip for having to listen to that garbage the whole way.

  25. 25 GEAGLE said at 6:10 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Lol, if you are stuck listening to sports radio, you better off taking the opportunity to call in, and ask a former Eagle like IKe Reese, Hollis Thomas, Westbrook, or whatever former Eagle is hosting, and intelligent question ATleast trying to steer the convo in an intelligent direction.
    ..
It’s so frustrating to love this team and be a die hard fan, knowing that 90% of all the Eagles coverage we get from our media is complete trash that will do more harm then good, listening to it. All it can do is taint your oppinion with crap that ISNT true.
    ..
    so frustrating.
    ..
Wish someone would start a site that keeps track of all the crap our local media members say, and then go back and grade their opinion and see what percentage of the time the eagles coverage they provided to fans turned out to be accurate, and then grade all our media members on the rate in which they provided Intel that proved accurate… So fans can go and see for example, someone like Lea Bowan ismt even worth acknowledging cuz he is probably accurate like 18% of the time, or something patjetic like that

  30. 30 GermanEagle said at 5:52 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Consultant for the 3-4 Defense of course. Don’t think Howie the cap guy needs advice. 😉

  31. 31 wee2424 said at 6:05 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I think what he looks for in 3-4 players differs then what we look for. The scheme that he runs, and has ran for years also differs.

  32. 32 wee2424 said at 6:02 PM on January 10th, 2015:

He seems the type that just concerns himself with the x’s and o’s and coaching the players, and is perfectly content with wanting nothing more then that. Cortez Allen had a good year before the contract. He probably stated that yes he would be on board for extension or retaining him. Highly doubt he had anything to do with the numbers.

  33. 33 Greg Richards said at 6:17 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Yeah, that would be perfect. I believe he and Davis have coaching history together. At 77, being a part-time consultant is probably better for him than having a full-time gig.

  34. 34 GEAGLE said at 6:24 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Billy comes from the league coaching tree… Forget the 7 degrees of separation route to get from LBeu to billy,..but Billy brought in legendary Steeler OLB Kevin Green during this training camp, and last year he was showing our front 7 videos of Labeu’s BLITZburg defense..
    ..
I assume Kevin Green was proud of the pass rushing year, the guys he worked with had, COle, Barwin, BG

  35. 35 Greg Richards said at 6:33 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Davis was the defensive quality control assistant with Pittsburgh from 1992-94. At that time, LeBeau was the Steelers’ defensive backs coach and Dom Capers was their DC. Capers got hired by Carolina as their HC in 1995 and he hired Davis as his OLB coach. LeBeau was promoted to the Steelers’ DC.

  36. 36 TommyLawlor said at 6:47 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  38. 38 wee2424 said at 5:35 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  39. 39 Weapon Y said at 8:59 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Would love to get him on the coaching staff in some capacity. Probably won’t coach in the NFL much longer, so I wouldn’t try to make him defensive coordinator, but something like a defensive consultant or assistant (to the?) head coach.

  40. 40 jamesbondage said at 8:17 AM on January 11th, 2015:

If Todd Bowles gets a HC gig somewhere, LeBeau is heading down to Arizona for sure.

  41. 41 GermanEagle said at 5:00 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Noe Flacco is the best quarter back on the planet ‘play offs’!

  42. 42 GEAGLE said at 5:20 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Heard a good theory from someone who has been calling his games since Deleware. knock on him is his study habits, feels his arm can bail him out a lot… The thinking is come playoff time. he doesn’t short change his study habbits, he puts in the extra work. And it results in much better playoff QB! Then regular season QB- John Ritchie

  43. 43 wee2424 said at 6:08 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Pretty immature and unprofesional of him considering you need to win in the regular season in order to make the postseason if it is true.

  44. 44 GEAGLE said at 6:14 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I assume that woulda b really frustrating for Harbaugn if true… jon Ritchie claims that you can see during the regular season that he isn’t as prepared, makes mistakes, but come the playoffs, he knows exactly where to go with the ball in every situation. For example if the blitz is coming from the right, he knows exactky where each of his hot reads are, and Ritchie said that you don’t see him so sharp in his assignments during the regular season

He also ripped Daltons preperation pretty bad, someone like Dalton with arm strength limitatiòns shoûlder studying extra to overcome his limitations, instead he just sucks…
    ..
Called Cutler the modern Jeff George which I got a laugh out of… big Armed idiot

  45. 45 GEAGLE said at 6:16 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Interesting that Jon Ritchie, used to do the commentating on New Hampshire games when Chip coached there, so he claims he has admired chip for a while… He was also commentating for CS8 back when Flacco was playing at Deleware so he seemed pretty knowledgable about Flacco and his reputation

  46. 46 GermanEagle said at 5:11 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The one QB Foles could beat in a footrace

  52. 52 wee2424 said at 5:30 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Since the Smith pick ive thought the Eagles were trying to emulate Seatles D. Outside of the obvious that both are 3-4. Seattle has tall athletic LB. Smith is tall and athletic with Kendricks also being fast and athletic. Barwin while not being overly athletic is athletic enough to perform whatever you ask of him. Seattle doesnt have a LB that just purely rushes the passer. Hence the Smith pick with him alongside Barwin. Thats if he pans out. Both teams preffer larger more physical corners. Curry is their Bruce Irvin. Jenkins plays deep, man, or box such as Earl Thomas. The one difference is they preffer a big hitting in the box safety like Chancelor to where i think we wantbboth safeties to be able to do a bit of everything. This might have to do with the fact that their CB play is so great then add Thomas who can cover space like no other they can get away with a slower more physical in the box safety. And the fact that Chancelor is just best in the league when it comes to that.

  53. 53 GEAGLE said at 5:32 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Seattle doesn’t play a 3-4…
    ..
Seattle has a strong, and free safety, Not the interchangable safeties we are searching for
    ..
Seattle plays a different coverage scheme than us

  54. 54 Anders said at 5:37 PM on January 10th, 2015:

We play cover 3, they player cover 1, only difference is how much man you play on the outside.

  55. 55 GEAGLE said at 5:41 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Again, we play a diffrent scheme. Cover 3 and cover 1 ARENT the same things

  56. 56 Jarock said at 6:47 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Agreed, but there are a lot of similarities in how Chip’s building his defense in that we both want big athletic linebackers and taller than average corners who can rough up receivers.

We like mirrored safeties who can play man or drop in zone where being a thumper is well down the list. Seattle runs a traditional free and strong safety where the SS is like a fourth linebacker. It’s a testament to how gifted Seattle’s corners and Earl Thomas are that their scheme works as well as it does.

wee2424, Barwin’s actually a really good athlete. He doesn’t have the great first step you see in elite pass rushers, but check his combine performance out. It’s especially impressive for a 250lb player.

  57. 57 Anders said at 7:44 AM on January 11th, 2015:

No, but the safeties have often the same responsibilities. We play single high, they play single high, we put a safety down in the box, they put a safety down in the box.

  58. 58 wee2424 said at 6:36 PM on January 10th, 2015:

If you read what i said regarding the safeties i devoted multiple sentences to acknowledging that. I never said we played same coverage, i said we like same type of bigger physical corners. Did you read what i said at all?

I agree with you. However Forrsets name was constantly mentioned in the media where as Maclins wasnt. The whole Ray Rice thing also got him more attention. Like the Probowl its not always who deserves it but who is mentioned in the media more. Most WR talk this year was focused on the oustanding rookie class, which kind of overhadowed most WR in league when it came to media.

Rumors swirling the last few weeks of the season about Peyton’s arm being shot. his preperation, the fact he wants to take every rep, seems to have worn down his arm late in the season… Think it was the Browns game, you could tell he lost all trust in his arm because he was checking into run plays the entire game…also heard the bye week helped his arm, but I would expect to hear that whether it’s true or not going into the playoffs,
    ..
As for the Dallas game, all year I been bashing the over rated Dallas OL. Nothing over rated about their run blocking, but I been ripping their pass protection all year, tape of the Lions game backed my analysis up. cowboys oL/RB were pathetic last week in Blitz pick up…basic stuff, like you would see the Lions LB’s sugaring the A-Gaps pre snap, when the ball is snapped the OLB would all pinch down, trying to squeeze to stop the A gap Blitzes, but the LBs WOULDNT come, and the OTs were worried about pinching down to block the middle, and they were letting the DEs get a free rush to Romo. Basic blitz pickups were killing the Cowboys OL last week
    ..
The GB game isn’t complicated. GB defense struggles against the run, Cowboys OL strength is elite run blocking. if Dallas can run the BLl successfully they will make it a tough game.. but if GB steps up and shuts the run down and Rogers gives GB a lead forcing Dallas to start throwing it, I’m telling you right now Dom Capers is going to give hell to the Cowboys OL in pass protection. After I saw how poorly they handled the lions blitz packages and fake blitzes, Dom Capers will be lick his lips in pass situations, moving Clay and Peppers all over the place, lining them up as OLBs and rushiñg, linnning them Up at ILB and blitzing up the middle..
    ..
Dallas has to be able to run successfully, limit how much they get to bLitz dallas. if Romo has to throw 30 times, they won’t win… If they are allowed to commit to the run, and stick to it all game, they become Dangerous.

I just dont see Cowboys being able to keep up with GB in GB, regardless if they run effectively or not. I dont see Romo bringing his A game in that cold. May be close at first due to Dallas being able to run and winning TOP, but i think Packers run with it later in game.

  101. 101 oreofestar said at 7:16 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I don’t Kareem is getting that kind of money and could get less then Maxwell plus 40mil over 5 years wouldn’t even be a problem for me personally

I don’t view things as what would be a problem for me and you,, I worry about how our regime views things, and there is nothing these past two years that can lead me to confidently expect the Eagles giving a 5’10 corner 40mil…. Considering the slop THATS available, I wouldn’t complain….but I would be lying if I said its something I can personally expect to happen.
    ..
Again, I’d love to be wrong and see us spend 40plus on a corner, I just need to see it to believe it

  103. 103 oreofestar said at 7:22 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I understand that but 5’10 isn’t THAT short and he’s a player you see Skrine and Flowers are ballers but we won’t touchthem because they are really short honestly Perrish Cox fits but then there is that character bs, I mean if they want a talented 6 for corner with no of field issues there is only one option…

I like it! WR are getting bigger and bigger each year. it’s friggin impossible as it is to play corner in this new bullshit version of NFL football that the refs call today… Asking your Corner to overcome a 5-6inch advantage for an entire game on each and every snap against a talented Wr is just way too much to ask, with how fucking impossible the bulshit rules are making it to play corner.
    ..
Basically, if you have a great reputation at corner, you can be successful, refs let you play a little more. IF YOU ARE bradley Fletcher, you will get flagged for breathing on a WR

  107. 107 oreofestar said at 7:17 PM on January 10th, 2015:

As I said, I understand the theory. I certainly agree with looking for taller corners as I’m drafting or signing guys. I don’t agree with playing someone who’s two inches taller but clearly the lesser talent. Fletcher got away with plenty in some games, but was correctly flagged a lot, especially later in the season.

  110. 110 GEAGLE said at 7:23 PM on January 10th, 2015:

While we groom corners we drafted on the bench

    ..
My OPPINION of drafting Shaq for the Eagles is pretty simple… Picture Lavonte David, and Mykal Kendricks flying around making plays behind Cox, Logan and Ced….. That’s what drafting Shaq for us would be like,
    ..
I’m sure we would value his ability to blitz and drop into coverage so much at LB, because it frees up kendricks, teams can’t know which LB is blitzing, which is dropping into coverage, because SHAQ is as well rounded LB potential like KEndricks and Lavonte David who I personally feel he best compares to.
    ..
Funny Howie, if I’m not mistaken planned on drafting Lavonte and Mykal in round two, but the Bucs traded ahead of us and stole Lavonte, so we took Curry

  114. 114 GEAGLE said at 6:35 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    ..
What’s interesting is the skins could easily end up with Mariotta or Winston. All the teams in between Bucs and Skins have young QBs. Titans have Mettenberger, Raiders have Carr, Jags have BOrtles..
    ..
I assume Lovie will think he can handle Jameis Winston, who IMO is a much better pro style prospect than Marriotta, so our media is so dumb, that they can’t even have a correct Marriotta debate lol.. We wouldn’t have to trade up to #1, we would have to get ahead of the skins at 4, but I would assume a team like the Jets tried to get ahead of the skins for a QB
    ..
it must really suck to be an Eagles fan that doesntbelieve in FOles lol. Must really suck to be an eagle fan and think we still need a QB. I will enjoy the draft process so much more, since Im convinced we already have our QB for the next 7 years on our roster. I can’t imagine how much it would suck to be an eagle fan that thinks we need a QB, in a draft where we are picking at #20, and Winston and Marriotta will go top 5 lol…. Thank you Saint Nick!

Think about it, we played a 4-3 at the time, had just traded for Meco to man the middle, we needed two young 4-3 WLB, and SLB to play outside Meco, Lavonte, KEndricks and Meco would have been great 4-3 LBARNETT corp

Rather trade for Dion, he is on a cheap rookie deal for two more years

Restructure COle for one more year, by 2016 we won’t need COle and Marcus and Dion can fight over his reps

  132. 132 oreofestar said at 6:58 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I’m fine with trading for Dion if you are going Cole,Barwin,Smith,Dion but if you let Cole go I don’t want to their in Dion honestly. Hughes has played in the 3-4 in the past and is solid in coverage so I don’t think it would be as dramatic a transition. 134. 134 GEAGLE said at 7:08 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Doubt we will lose both BG and COle in the same offseason. That’s what teams strapped for cap have to do. We are smarter than that. Cheaper to restructure COle for a year, while we raise Dion and Marcus, instead of committing 20mil guaranteed and 45mil for an OLB on the market after just drafting Marcus in round 1…. Remember it’s important to look at team buildings not terms of how much they are spending on a certain position. barwin PAID, marcus 1st round money… Doubt it makes Financial sense to bring in a OLB you have to pay more than BARWIN..

Restructuring COle for a year saves us a 45mil commitment(20 guaranteed, since an OLBs agent won’t even take your call if you aren’t ok with 20 mil guaranteed for startersu

  135. 135 oreofestar said at 7:12 PM on January 10th, 2015:

We keep looking back on Griffin contract for reference but in fairness he was comingoff double digit sacks and was a Pro Bowler this season and looking at guys like Avril, and Wright this year means we can’t assume every good pass rusher is getting 8per with 20 guaranteed plus Houston and JPP and Hardy will be the top pass rushers available,

  192. 192 SteveH said at 7:17 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Cmon man that was a pretty clear hold, and if he doesn’t do it Flacco has all day in the pocket to hit steve smith.

  193. 193 Greg Richards said at 7:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I’d agree that that was a penalty. Here is what I really, really hate. The offense is bumbling. They get backed up by their own penalties, getting sacked. They have a 3rd and 10+ and then get an automatic first down because of some vague judgement call. There is no reason that defensive holding should come with an automatic first down.

  194. 194 SteveH said at 7:22 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The reason it does is because if it didn’t DB’s would do it all the time to prevent much bigger gains.

  195. 195 Jarock said at 7:23 PM on January 10th, 2015:

They already do, especially in Seattle.

  196. 196 SteveH said at 7:23 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Well… theoretically if they called Seattle the way they called everyone else it wouldn’t work :p.

  197. 197 Jarock said at 7:24 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Seattle dares the refs to throw a flag every play. They count on the fact that they won’t. As irritating as I find it, I could live with it if they then called the other team the same way.

  198. 198 SteveH said at 7:25 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Yep, but they don’t. NFL officiating drives me nuts. They have no know going in that Seattle is going to do that, but they let them get away with it week after week.

  199. 199 Jarock said at 7:17 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  204. 204 oreofestar said at 7:18 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  205. 205 GermanEagle said at 7:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Huh?!

  206. 206 SteveH said at 7:18 PM on January 10th, 2015:

This is the first I’ve really watched Revis play all year long… seeing him grab and tug and armbar on every single play, if Bradley Fletcher did that shit he would have had 87 penalties this year.

  207. 207 GermanEagle said at 7:18 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The sad thing he had 87 penalties.

  208. 208 SteveH said at 7:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Hah, nice.

  209. 209 Greg Richards said at 7:22 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The Bills are giving Rex Ryan a second interview. That pairing doesn’t really make any sense to me. They already have a strong DC in Schwartz who runs a 4-3. Both Schwartz and Ryan are abrasive personalties that aren’t likely to mesh. The word is that Ryan would be paired with Marc Trestman as OC but getting an offensive guy as HC and letting Schwartz continue to run the D like he did last year seems like the smart move IMO.

  210. 210 SteveH said at 7:24 PM on January 10th, 2015:

It’s the Bills. So it does kind of make sense in that way :p.

  214. 214 Greg Richards said at 7:29 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  215. 215 Jarock said at 7:34 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Patriots definitely do a better job of not asking him to do stuff he just can’t, but I can see the same limitations that hurt him so badly in Philly.

  216. 216 GEAGLE said at 8:10 PM on January 10th, 2015:

You basically have to treat him like Mark Barron and just let him blitz on every play

  217. 217 Jarock said at 7:26 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Some teams just seem to always play better in the playoffs. Spurs in the NBA, Ravens in the NFL. Need to give the Raven’s credit even if New England wins this game. Seven point dog, and they’ve already hung 28 on a very good Pat’s defense.

  218. 218 SteveH said at 7:27 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  220. 220 SteveH said at 7:29 PM on January 10th, 2015:

We’d be crushed by New England they always have our number… the Ravens I feel we’d be much better against.

  221. 221 Jarock said at 7:29 PM on January 10th, 2015:

We’d be outclassed. I love the Eagles, but the way we played down the line and given our propensity for turnovers, we’d have been buried.

  222. 222 anon said at 7:28 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Spurs routinely win the west playing their scrubs – but i see your point. Ravens are built for playoff football though. Defense and running the ball.

  226. 226 Jarock said at 7:35 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  227. 227 SteveH said at 7:36 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  228. 228 anon said at 7:37 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Yeah. The Lions aren’t allowed to have nice things.

  230. 230 Jarock said at 7:38 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  231. 231 Greg Richards said at 7:39 PM on January 10th, 2015:

If I were the Lions owner I’d just take the hit and write a check to charity and send Goodell a simple two word response.

  232. 232 Jarock said at 7:39 PM on January 10th, 2015:

He should do it in a national paper. Make sure we all see it.

  233. 233 SteveH said at 7:40 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I’m surprised that doesn’t happen more often. If I was the Lions coach after that I would have been tossed from the game, you would have heard so many bullshits and you’re a fucking idiot coming from my mouth, and then I’d keep talking in the presser after. The whole world would know what I thought of that officiating crew haha.

  234. 234 SteveH said at 7:35 PM on January 10th, 2015:

NE gonna keep it… They need to start holding onto the ball though, already recovered 2 of their own fumbles.

  235. 235 Avery Greene said at 7:36 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Really weird because he was looking to that side the whole time, he had to see the safety running over the top there. Not like the guy flew in from out of nowhere.

  300. 300 anon said at 8:04 PM on January 10th, 2015:

they fooled him with the safety question. Bated him into that pass. That’s what i dind’t understand about the Eagles. Everyon’es going after Fletch, goad them into it

  301. 301 Jarock said at 8:06 PM on January 10th, 2015:

As SteveH said down below, he got greedy. Patriots, unlike the Eagles, didn’t put their corners on the island to try to generate pressure. As much as it hurts me to say this, congrats to the Patriots.

  302. 302 Avery Greene said at 8:08 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Yeah hats off. I think Belichik is one of the best (if not the best) coaches out there.

  303. 303 GEAGLE said at 8:08 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Devin McCourty jumps up and Bats down the Hail Mary pass to secure the win…. Is there any doubt that Nate Allen would have found a way to let the WRs behind him and catch the ball even on a hail mary where he starts off lined up at those own 5 yard line lol..

  304. 304 oreofestar said at 8:09 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Nate would have taken out Jenkins and then it would have been Smith one on one with Fletch so yeah….TD

Your confusing Nate and Patrick. That was Chung’s specialty here.

  306. 306 Jarock said at 8:13 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Hopefully Devin’s starting in midnight green next season.

  307. 307 GEAGLE said at 8:14 PM on January 10th, 2015:

IMO, he would be the only free agent Id sigń this year… Cap is going up like 10mil, treat ourselves and blow it on Devin McCourty, the hood rich way!!!

  308. 308 Jarock said at 8:15 PM on January 10th, 2015:

McCourty’s good, and I’d love to see him on the Eagles. He’s still 2nd on my covet list. Houston’s just a beast and a perfect fit for the way we want to play defense. Might not have a great chance of signing him, but he’s the guy I’d back the brinks truck up for.

  309. 309 GEAGLE said at 8:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Dude, Houston is one of my favorite players in the NFL, I’d let you YAC me an extra 5% to help pay his salary… I just don’t expect us to pay for ANYONEs OLB at ALL!
    ..
    Love to be wrong tho…
    ..
McCourty is the one Guy, I could see the Eagles pay for. Stylistically, he is a former corner, the perfect safety to play in our defenses schemes with Malcolm Jenkins.
    .l
He is EVERYTHING this regime looks for in a safety and free agent(character, work ethic, football IQ)
    ..
Personally he is only expensive player I can see us signing this year, or ATleast tryimg to

  310. 310 Jarock said at 8:21 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I agree he’s the most likely target. I’d just prefer them to break the bank for Houston. I also agree that McCourty’s an exceptionally good fit for the way we play defense. Also, as we saw today, he can make plays on the ball in the deep zone which is something we didn’t see out of Jenkins at all.

  311. 311 GEAGLE said at 8:27 PM on January 10th, 2015:

All true… Hopefully they prioritize keeping the corners in place letting Devin hit the market, I assume we would put an end to the safety dilema of the past decade and go after him hard

  312. 312 oreofestar said at 8:29 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Last huge Pass rusher contract for a guy on the open .market was Mario getting 6/96 and the cap was lower then, are you willing to give him that kind if deal if he gets lose

  313. 313 Jarock said at 8:30 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Yes.

  314. 314 oreofestar said at 8:32 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  315. 315 Jarock said at 8:33 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I know it’s a long shot. You asked if I’d be willing to pay him that. He’s worth it, especially when we don’t have a ton of money wrapped up in the QB position.

  316. 316 oreofestar said at 8:37 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Yeah and honestly with the rising cap I’d pay him that as well, not gonna lie I hope Houston and Suh are both loose on the open market not because I think we will sign him but it will be funny seeing some of the huge record breaking numbers that are thrown at them. Watt at 6/100 is looking like a HUGE bargain lol

  317. 317 oreofestar said at 8:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  323. 323 GEAGLE said at 8:43 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I dunno , give him 4yrs 40mil for all I care. Caps going up 10mil, it’s like continuining to operate under the same Cap and adding a free McCourty..

Most fans have their crazy wish lists wanting to sign 3 of the top free agents…I don’t ask for much, I ask for 1 signing, that’s all I want, pay to fix the problem that has plagued us the longest, SAFETY… Since I only ask for 1’signing, I don’t really care what they have to Pay, just get it done.. Eliminating safety as a need going into the, draft will be HUGE, not to menton our corners will finally get proper safety help

  324. 324 oreofestar said at 8:50 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Have I been unreasonable with my hours lol I’d totally sign McCourty for like 4/37 I guess the other signings I’ve been advocating for is 2 of Sheard, Hughes, Worilds, Orakpo, Cox, Maxwell, Jackson, Parker,Gipson, Culliver, McCourty, Franklin, Hill, Moore, Cromartie which is too much to ask for lol

  325. 325 GEAGLE said at 8:53 PM on January 10th, 2015:

For two years I have been told we don’t mind spending money, but only if it’s the perfect fit…. Devin is that PERFECT FIT in every way possible, so spend the money and get it done..
    ,,
Btw, McCourty ISNT even one of my top 5 safeties in the NFL a. He may not even be top 10 for me… But I know he is EXACTLY what our coaches look for in a free agent safety, so pony up and get it done

  326. 326 oreofestar said at 8:55 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  341. 341 mksp said at 8:18 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Why isn’t standard NFL operating procedure to handle your end of game timeouts the same way the Ravens did?

Don’t call one after 1st down, call one after 2nd and 3rd, forces team to run a play on 4th. Feels like I haven’t seen that done before, but should be applicable in so many situations.

  342. 342 anon said at 8:19 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Funny isn’t the term I would use. Wouldn’t mind Seattle getting roughed up this game, but I’d rather see two teams that deserve it play for the championship. That’s not Carolina or Dallas for the record.

  349. 349 oreofestar said at 8:44 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  350. 350 Avery Greene said at 8:46 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Exactly. They won their division fair and square.

  351. 351 Michael Winter Cho said at 10:33 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I also prefer teams that deserve it. To me that means teams that were good in the regular season and not just good in the playoffs. I’m glad NE beat Baltimore. Sick of these mediocre teams getting hot and making deep runs in the postseason.

  352. 352 Jarock said at 10:35 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Baltimore was a little better than mediocre, but I agree with the sentiment.

  353. 353 SteveH said at 8:41 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  355. 355 SteveH said at 8:43 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Rule change proposal: For punts, teams now have the option to put the quarterback in and declare a punt situation. In this situation, any pass is considered to be a punt instead of a throw.

Would love to see Newton or people just lining up in the shotgun on “punts” and heaving the ball 75 yards down the field.

  356. 356 oreofestar said at 8:44 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    ..
We got dorks and geeks who think they can make this perfect game “better”.. They are not only changing rules to help injuries, but they are also changing rules to help offense, you can’t do BOTH, it’s changing to a completely ridiculous set of bullshit rules that don’t get called with any type of consistency.

  365. 365 Jarock said at 8:52 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Benjamin beating Sherman does kinda point out why I think the 6ft thing is kind of silly. Sherman’s both an extremely talented as well as tall corner and he still looks like a midget next to Benjamin. If you can’t keep up, doesn’t matter how tall you are.

  401. 401 mksp said at 9:38 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  421. 421 GEAGLE said at 9:54 PM on January 10th, 2015:

2nd worst record only pushed us to 5… There are worst fates than getting stuck drafting Porzingis, Justice Winslow or Stanley Johnson… Actually, from a team building stand point, those are probably better fits than the two Bigmen and the point guard, but I’d still love to add OKafor or Towns given the chance

  422. 422 oreofestar said at 9:58 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I’m really sorting on Mudiay my dream scenario was getting a top 2 pick getting a tom in a tade back to like 5 and getting Winslow or Johnson.

  423. 423 GEAGLE said at 9:59 PM on January 10th, 2015:

MUDIAY is going to be good. At the very least he will grow into a John Wall Type, but he could be as good as westbrook..I don’t mind drafting him, but I prefer OKafor and Towns.

I’m meant to say I’m souring on Mudiay been watching more and his jump shot concerns me as do his turnovers looks Wroten -esque at times but has a high ceiling and great athleticism but if you draft him MCW is fine because they can’t play together

Chip Kelly’s interview w/Chris Polian for “GM” job has taken place, per
source. Chip asked for, and received, permission earlier this week.

I hope we go another direction. The pro for him is that he’s probably the most experienced of the candidates having experience in day-to-day management of football operations, contracts, as well as pro and college scouting. The negative is it seems like he had personality conflicts with people in Indy and while those might not be his fault(hard to know unless you really pay a lot of attention to the team) and it doesn’t seem we’d want to go there considering Roseman also had some of the same difficulties. Plus, Indy’s drafting record wasn’t particularly good when he had the GM title.

So seeing Dick Lebeau just got fired by the Steelers, Chip wants a Pittsburgh 2 gap 3-4, and our current DC trained in that system doesn’t know what DBs to play and/or what technique to use with them………………………………..

why aren’t we firing Davis and hiring Lebaeu right now?

  449. 449 Jarock said at 10:43 PM on January 10th, 2015:

    Agreed.

  452. 452 Greg Richards said at 10:44 PM on January 10th, 2015:

They’re not firing Davis. Hire LeBeau as a senior coaching assistant or a defensive consultant.

  453. 453 Media Mike said at 10:45 PM on January 10th, 2015:

To yell at Davis for making brutal decisions with the starting 11 and what guys to keep on the 53?

  454. 454 Greg Richards said at 10:48 PM on January 10th, 2015:

To assist Davis. Kelly is the one deciding which guys to keep on the 53. Likely the starting 11 too. LeBeau is 77 years old. He might not want the full-time workload of being a defensive coordinator anymore and/or teams might be leery of hiring someone of that age for the job.

  455. 455 Media Mike said at 10:49 PM on January 10th, 2015:

At 77 or 177 I’d expect him to explain why one signs Glover Quin instead of Patrick Chung, why one doesn’t bring back Nate Allen, and why one should be so short of ILBs that a few injuries keep Casey Matthews on this roster.

  456. 456 Greg Richards said at 10:52 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I’d agree that those were not wise moves, but while there are plenty of valid criticisms of Davis, I highly doubt he had anywhere near final call on those decisions.

  457. 457 Media Mike said at 10:54 PM on January 10th, 2015:

You’re not wrong, but the fact that the Eagles aren’t prepping for Green Bay tomorrow means that everybody in the organization needs to be a target for abuse right now.

    Because Cam sucks.

  466. 466 Jarock said at 10:45 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  467. 467 Media Mike said at 10:45 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  468. 468 Jarock said at 10:47 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I know you hate scramblers, but that has nothing to do with whether the QB is protected on a slide. It’s BS that they pick up the flag for QBs like Cam, Kap, and RG3 but if you breathe wrong on Peyton or Brady you get flagged. This is the year we first saw the ‘hit the QB too hard’ penalty after all.

  469. 469 Media Mike said at 10:48 PM on January 10th, 2015:

If we never got the benefit of those flags with Cunningham, McNabb, or Vick………… NOBODY deserves them. There are 31 fan bases and teams who all should kill themselves.

  470. 470 Jarock said at 10:52 PM on January 10th, 2015:

One of many areas I have a serious beef with the NFL. If they’re going to protect their pocket QBs, then scramblers like Wilson, Kap, and Cam deserve the same protection. Of course, my general feeling is I miss 80’s and early 90’s football where you could tear a guy’s head off.

  471. 471 Media Mike said at 10:53 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Scramblers like Kaep and Cam deserve nothing except a position switch to TE or LB like their HS coaches should have done.

  472. 472 BobSmith77 said at 11:03 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  492. 492 Jarock said at 11:21 PM on January 10th, 2015:

  493. 493 wee2424 said at 11:28 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I think they are very skilled at not getting caught and knowing when to stop touching the receiver, and they are very skilled at jamming the receiver. Thats different then the refs giving them leniency. They are extremely skilled at getting in the way of the receiver and making the receiver change their route.

  494. 494 Jarock said at 11:30 PM on January 10th, 2015:

My feeling is they dare the refs to flag them every play. They get flagged a ton, but no ref wants to throw a flag on every play, so they start letting the comparably ‘minor’ stuff go. Never mind they would flag anyone else for it. Yes, they’re skilled and talented, but they openly push the rules.

  495. 495 wee2424 said at 11:45 PM on January 10th, 2015:

But everything i said for the most part is allowed. They are just very skilled at doing it, and within the rules knowing when to stop. Alot of times they get in the way of the receiver and make the receiver dramatically change his route, which people confuse with PI, but its not, its legal.

  505. 505 wee2424 said at 11:32 PM on January 10th, 2015:

Thats football man. It evolves all the time. From the days before the forward pass was invented, to the actual changing of the shape of the football, to pure pocket passers, to some QBs being scrambling QBs. Its not ruining football, its a part of football.

  506. 506 Media Mike said at 11:34 PM on January 10th, 2015:

The visual aspect of seeing that development in the game is most unwelcome. I think it erodes the skill and intellect necessary for playing the game in a way worth viewing.

  507. 507 wee2424 said at 11:39 PM on January 10th, 2015:

I think and i think alot of people will agree with me that it adds excitment to the game. Is he going to run or pass. Thought he was going to be sacked but spun out of it and ran for 50 yards. QB stiff arming the best FS in league (Cam on Thomas).

  508. 508 Media Mike said at 11:40 PM on January 10th, 2015:

A lot of people can agree with you if they want, but ultimately that many QBs all running all the time would drive me from watching the NFL. I see it as sloppy rather than exciting.

  509. 509 suthrneagle said at 8:20 AM on January 11th, 2015:

Blame Fran Tarkenton, then Randle Cunningham.
They just made football unbearable to watch.

  510. 510 Media Mike said at 8:36 AM on January 11th, 2015:

Funny that neither won a title, but I’ll admit that Cunningham was captivating to cheer for as a youngster. Sadly we all had to learn the hard way that running too much and throwing across one’s body was far too often going to result in game losing INTs. I wish our coaches had the smarts to deploy Cunningham in the way the Vikings did during that epic season he had with them. The great reading, great passing, hardly ever running version of Cunningham in Minnesota showed the level of career he could have had if people didn’t try to pump up that “Ultimate Weapon” bs.

  511. 511 MagsMightyMutt said at 2:17 AM on January 11th, 2015:

Roger and the rules are just responding to the perception of the casual public who think that football is just so mean and nasty that they might stop buying the products which are advertised in the multi-million dollar Super Bowl commercial breaks.

  512. 512 MagsMightyMutt said at 2:15 AM on January 11th, 2015:

Totally agree Cam is vastly improved. He played much better in the pocket than he used to, he didn’t panic and run helter-skelter, his O line gave him a lot of time, sometimes, and if he had a couple of receivers who could CATCH the ball, the outcome of the game could have been different. I live in the Seattle area, with many folks wearing 12s and if I can’t root for Philly in the playoffs, well…. But I still thought Cam deserved better.

    I’m a huge Spags fan.

  567. 567 Avery Greene said at 11:05 AM on January 11th, 2015:

I think there are a few pros to the idea of LeBeau. So here’s my short list (all speculative):
    – He’s 77 and may not want to uproot to a new city far from Pittsburgh where his home is. Philly is 4 1/2 hour drive away.
    – He already has a relationship with Billy D, and while he may want the top spot he also might take an adviser role or title like Asst. DC, or Asst HC.
    – He’s got a lot of experience working with the secondary and would immediately help ours in terms of coaching
    – He’s a guru of the defense Chip Kelly likes to run.

    Here are some cons:
    – Continuity. Yes Davis and LeBeau run the same type of defense, but each coach has their own stamp on it
    – Davis may have to give up DC title, when he’s looking for head coaching positions in the future
    – Allen keeps biting on the fakes and misses help over the top for one of the CBs and LeBeau murders him on the sideline.

Okay maybe not the last one, but I think this is an intriguing idea. I see more positives than negatives, but I’m not closed to this idea. I’m willing to do anything to improve our team in any way.

  568. 568 Greg Richards said at 11:08 AM on January 11th, 2015:

Switch the last one from con to pro. Apparently one of the reasons he left Pittsburgh was because of his loyalty to veterans like Ike Taylor and Troy Polamalu. The Steelers want to cut them and he didn’t like that. That may actually appeal to Kelly. I personally think that holding on to old-timers is usually a bad idea. Of course I thought that letting go of Dawkins was a good move and we all so how that played out.

Falcons once offered HC job to Jason Garrett, who will be free agent when
Dallas season ends. Multiple Cowboys asst coach contracts also up.

Garrett has a mixed record. They improved vastly this year because they had better coordinators. That said, I doubt Jones lets Garrett leave. It’d be hard to outbid him financially. The Falcons already have a GM so it’s doubtful they’d entice him with having control of personnel.

I take comfort knowing that no matter who we hire, their wont be a player signed or drafted that Chip hasn’t looked at closely and given his stamp of approval, so who we hire ismt THAT important… It becomes Important in trade negotiations with other teams, but unfortunately we rarely ever find out the truth about what trades were on the table that we turned down, so we will never truly know how good this exec is that we hire, so picking the coolest name, or the guy who comes from the executive tree I like the best is pretty pointless…. 90% of these guys, I wouldn’t recognize if they walked up to me and punched me in the face, pretending otherwise is foolish and doesn’t interest me much.

Fortunately we have a brilliant coach, who knows talemt, has built his own college program similar to a GM. I don’t want Davis to lose his spot, but adding a defensive guru to the coaching staff can’t hurt. I don’t hate Davis, quite the opposite. But LeBeau can add strength to that staff. I had a reply below that if Dick was cool with a fancy title where he still gets to coach, we could be a good option. Davis is the DC, but considering this is the one guy who has most influenced his coaching style, Davis may be willing to want to bring him in.

IMHO it’s all on how Davis would feel about it, but I could see him wanting to have his mentor around.

Can’t believe i have to desperately root for all these teams I despise

Rumor has it, that chip is making a trip to the championship game on Monday.. Rumblings of Chip Hiring Colt Lyerla to “Tonya Hardings” Marriotta’s Knee before the championship game…..
Chip is getting desperate because he doesn’t think he can frame Boyscots Marriotta for a crime between now and the draft… Desperate times call for drastic measures..

@JayGlazer reports #Broncos coach John Fox might be available if team loses. Pretty good chance.

So, what do they do? Promote Gase? Name Peyton QB/Head Coach?

Update: Just checked Cole’s timeline and I didn’t see this? I don’t know if his feed isn’t updating for me for some reason or someone hacked Middlekauf’s account.

  612. 612 GEAGLE said at 1:00 PM on January 11th, 2015:

That’s so stupid if they do… Peyton only has a year or two left, you don’t fuck up the continuity and break it up for one year of pEyton with a new coach… I don’t even like Fox, and Peyton is probably just as responsible for Denver’s success as Fox is…
    ..
Fox should coach the Broncos until Peyton retires and they are forced to rebuild… To make a change for what could be Peyton’s last year would be so stupid

If Rogers doesn’t win today, I dont care what the circumstances he will have been eliminated toomany times since Super Bowl win… He has the better team today, he is ridiculous at home…if he is this GOD that we view him as, he needs ton Teo the fuck up and deliver.. When the hell was the last time he won a playoff game? The Super Bowl?

Okay folks, I’m planted in front of the tv and ready for the game. I’ve parked my car in the garage in case Dallas wins – I’ll start it and just sit there until I fall asleep…

Seattle, New England, keep yourself alive there’s a few teams out there that are going to be tough. If the scum win the Super Bowl though, why don’t all Eagles fans just meet at the Walt Whitman Bridge? We can sing the fly eagles fly song while holding hands and jumping.

  616. 616 Avery Greene said at 1:06 PM on January 11th, 2015:

I might not make it that far. The Bay Bridge is 20 min from my house…

So Bryson Maxwell sat out yesterday for “shortness of breath” in a playoff game, while rookie Kelvin Benjamin Sodomized Tharlod Simon to the tune of 7 catches, 75 yards and 2 TDs?…. Interesting….

Doug Free ISNT playing today. Expect heavy pressure from Peppers attacking RT..

  618. 618 Greg Richards said at 1:09 PM on January 11th, 2015:

Hard for me to criticize Maxwell for that. With the weather in Seattle, it’s very easy to get congestion to the point that it’s impossible to play.
