The Eagles are having a good Day 3 so far.

Quick notes for now.

McPhearson is one of my favorite CBs in the draft. He doesn’t have great size (5-11, 196) or speed (4.50), but I thought he played really well. He has good cover skills. McPhearson will hit and tackle. He has good ball skills (4 INTs in 2020). I see a player who is aggressive and energetic on the field. I think new DC Jonathan Gannon sees McPhearson as someone who can start outside or play in the slot.

I loved the pick.

Gainwell is 5-9, 201 and come from the RB factory at Memhis. He opted out of 2020 after a terrific showing in 2019 (1459 rushing yards, 51 catches). Gainwell ran 4.47 at his Pro Day so he’s got the kind of speed you want in a playmaker.

Gainwell gives the Eagles another good option in the backfield. We know Miles Sanders is RB1, but things are wide open after that. Boston Scott is meant to be RB3, not the primary backup. Jordan Howard is back, but we have to see if he can bounce back from a terrible showing last season. Gainwell has the talent to be the key backup to Sanders and a key role player.

I’m shocked Gainwell lasted to pick 150.
