Trade: Jaguars are sending QB Gardner Minshew II to the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2022 sixth-round pick, per sources. The 6th-round pick could go to a 5th if Minshew plays in 50 percent of the plays in three games this season.

Trade: #Eagles have acquired QB Gardner Minshew from Jacksonville in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick in 2022.

I’m glad the Nick Mullens era is over. He really stunk this summer.
Adding Minshew makes a lot of sense for the Eagles. He didn’t cost much, is young, has some experience and has some talent.
I was on the phone with Jimmy Bama discussing the Eagles roster and potential moves this morning. We talked about QB and wondered who the team would go after to be the #3 QB. Clearly Mullens had to go. We figured the team would likely add a young guy who got cut and would put him on the practice squad. Adding Minshew is a better move.
I don’t think this move says anything about Joe Flacco. He’s coming off a strong performace vs the Jets, going 13-16-188 with a pair of TDs. The team likes Flacco. He is the backup.
Minshew gives them a young guy to groom as a long term backup. A.J. Feeley had that role years ago and was good for the Eagles.
I watched part of the Jaguars game last week and Minshew was up and down. That offense has some issues and it didn’t look like a good fit for him. I think the Eagles attack will fit his skill set better. There will be more short, quick throws that focus on getting RAC yards. It will also help that he’s got a good OL to play behind.
I also think he’ll be a good culture fit. Nick Sirianni preaches the importance of competition. Minshew will come here with the attitude that he’s going to challenge for the starting role. Sirianni will want guys to push the starters in front of them. Minshew has a mentality that Sirianni will love.
I'm surprised the #Jaguars only got a conditional late pick for Gardner Minshew.
Has starting experience, showed a knack for big plays. Has 38 total career TDs to only 11 INTs.
Still two years of cheap contract left..pic.twitter.com/ALu80ZudG0

Jacksonville was ready to move on and the Eagles benefit from that. Howie Roseman added a young QB with experience and a cheap deal. This is a no brainer deal to me. The Eagles got better and it didn’t cost them much.
