Kickoff is almost upon us. I have to admit it feels odd. I’ve been watching Eagles football for a long time and I am used to the nervous feeling on the opening Sunday. Friday is just weird.

I don’t have a good feel for this game. Both teams were streaky last year and made some key changes. What Eagles team will we see? What Packers team will we see?

We do know the inactives.

No real surprises there. We also know the players elevated for this game.

Jenkins will be the #3 TE and Gates will be a backup at G/C. Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson are the other backup OL. Hopefully none of them will be needed.

I’m excited to see:

  • The new Jalen Hurts
  • Saquon
  • LBs who actually might make plays
  • Safeties who actually might make plays
  • Quinyon Mitchell

I’m curious to see how the pass rush is. We didn’t see much of Josh Sweat/Bryce Huff/BG in the preseason. The Eagles need them to make plays if this defense is going to have success. Can those guys get the job done?

Enough speculation and wondering.

Let’s get this thing going and see what the Eagles have in store for us.
