Gameday – PHI at NYG
Posted October 20th, 2024 | Comments Off on Gameday – PHI at NYGThis is the day. The Eagles start fast, play well and give us a fun game. At least that’s what I’m hoping. This team has been erratic so far this season. They have to play well one of these weeks. Right?
No surprises on here.

No real surprises on there.
With Dallas Goedert out, the Eagles only have two TEs, Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll. It is possible that rookie WR Johnny Wilson could play there if needed. He is 6-6, 231 and is a good blocker out in space. The Eagles have used 12 personnel a lot (2 TEs) so it will be interesting to see if that changes today. It didn’t last week even after Goedert’s injury.
This is the first time this season that AJ Brown will play in consecutive games. I’m interested to see if that helps Jalen Hurts and the offense. Continuity is really a key part of offensive success. Timing, trust and consistency help an offense to be smooth and productive.
The Eagles defense will face a backup LT.
Josh Ezeudu is going to start at left tackle. He told me this week he’s in a much better position to succeed. He’s spent the entire spring and summer working at left tackle, unlike last year when he was thrown at left tackle after spending the entire spring + summer competing for…

The pass rushers have to win that battle. They need to be disruptive and affect Danny Dimes. That could be in the form of sacks or forcing him to make bad throws. This defense only has 2 takeaways this season. That has to change. Today would be a good time to fix that.
Big day for both teams. Let’s see which one plays better and leaves happy.
