DeVonta Smith is out. He warmed up on the field, but the Eagles decided to be conservative. They want him for the stretch run. Better to hold him back one more week than to rush him back.
I could have said the Eagles would be missing two key players. We already knew about Slay so I focused on Smitty.
The Eagles are also missing some role players. WR Johnny Wilson played in some packages and did a good job as a blocker on run plays. Ben VanSumeren got hurt in practice on Friday and is done for the year. That takes away the team’s fullback. The Eagles run game is good enough and versatile enough to be fine without them, but those role players did help with certain packages.
We have signed WR Parris Campbell to the active roster, elevated TE C.J. Uzomah and LB Ochaun Mathis for the game, and have placed LB Ben VanSumeren on Injured Reserve. pic.twitter.com/0YaHZzKfkj

New players Charles Harris and Ochaun Mathis will play. Harris is mainly a pass rusher and can help eat up some of BG’s snaps. Mathis could focus on STs to replace BVS.
The Ravens have the best run defense in the league so if the Eagles need to throw more today it will mean a chance for WRs to step up. This is the kind of situation the Eagles had in mind when they traded for Jahan Dotson. We’ll see if he can take advantage of the opportunity. Ainias Smith, Britain Covey and Campbell will all have a chance to play. Which one can step up?
Ravens inactives:
OLB Kyle Van Noy
RB Keaton Mitchell
S Marcus Williams
WR Devontez Walker

Van Noy is tied for the team lead with 8 sacks so losing him hurts. The Ravens also hoped to have NT Michael Pierce back, but didn’t activate him this week. That leaves them a bit thin up front.
I feel less confident about the Eagles chances with Smith out, but they still have a lot of talent and have a good chance to win the game. This game will be a good test for the Eagles. They want to make a run in January. The Ravens are the kind of team you face in the playoffs so it will be good to see how the Eagles stack up against them.
