The Chase Is On
Posted February 14th, 2025 | 3 Comments »The NFL world watched as the Eagles celebrated their Super Bowl win with a wild parade on Friday. There were 31 teams and fanbases looking at that with jealousy and wonder. They all want their chance to spend a day celebrating and shouting F-bombs before droves of fans.
The Eagles are going to be the measuring stick for everyone next season. All the other teams are going to want to beat the world champs to show how good they are. Until they can compete, players and teams will be comparing themselves to the guys in green.

It is easy to rip Dak for saying that. The Eagles have won 4 of the last 6 games against Dallas. The Eagles have been to 2 of the 3 last Super Bowls and won it all last weekend. Dallas has been a tough opponent for the Eagles outside of this season, but that hardly means the teams are close. The Eagles show up in January. Dallas doesn’t. There is a big difference in these franchises.
That isn’t lost on some of their players. Check out Micah Parsons comments.
“I don’t wanna sit back and just watch other people build and build and build and (we) stay the same, so we definitely need some call to action.”
It has to be torture to listen to Jerry Jones talk about being “all in”, but not putting any real action into those words. The Eagles just had an amazing offseason, headlined by Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun. Dallas got Zeke Elliott and Eric Kendricks. One of those things is not like the other.
You know Washington is telling themselves they are oh so close to the Eagles. They won the Week 16 game. Jayden Daniels looks like the real deal. The Commanders got smoked in the NFC title game. I’m sure they will blame that on turnovers. We’ll have to wait for next season to see how things play out.
Detroit had an amazing 2024 season, going 15-2. They looked like the team to beat for much of the season. That all changed when the postseason arrived and they got blown out by Washington. Lions players had to be crushed by such a horrible ending to such a great season. They will have a chip on their shoulder heading into next year.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is already letting everyone know he wants to play the Eagles in the season opener.

The Lions and Eagles aren’t exactly rivals, but that could change next year. The Eagles are king of the hill after the Lions had that unofficial title for most of 2024. Both teams will want to see how they stack up on the field.
No team will have the Eagles on their mind more than the Chiefs. The teams will play in KC next season. The Chiefs lost to the Eagles in the 2023 regular season and last week’s Super Bowl. That will be one fired up team and they will have something to prove. It will be fun to see if the Eagles can extend their winning streak or if KC gets some revenge. There will definitely be a lot of talking leading up to that game.
It will be interesting to see how the Eagles handle being a marked team. I’m sure Nick Sirianni will find a way to frame that so that it brings out the best in his players.

The Chiefs dynasty isn’t necessarily over. That team is still one of the best in the league. But it is possible the Eagles could be starting a dynasty of their own.
New on @SBNationNFL: Now that the @Chiefs got themselves poleaxed in Super Bowl LIX, the last thing anybody wants to hear about is another “dynasty.”
But what if the @Eagles are set up to create just that? https://t.co/0uiOEoaXhI

The Eagles have a lot of young talent. There is every chance in the world that the team could be really good for the next few years.
