Day 3 Draft Preview – 2025

Posted April 26th, 2025 | Comments Off on Day 3 Draft Preview – 2025

After two days the Eagles have only made two picks. They added LB Jihaad Campbell and S Andrew Mukuba, both players who could be starting this season. As we head into Day 3, the focus is more on depth and players to develop for the future. If there were a game a week from now, the Eagles would have a good starting lineup already in place.

While the focus isn’t on starters, there is still plenty of talent available. These guys can become key role players and maybe starters in the future.

THE PICKS

1st round – LB Jihaad Campbell
2nd round – S Andrew Mukuba
4th round – pick 111
4th round – pick 130
5th round – pick 161
5th round – pick 165
5th round – pick 168
6th round – pick 191

NEEDS

DT – The Eagles could use a DT to add to the mix, preferable someone in the 285-pound range. They need someone who can be a good interior rusher and disruptive player.

Edge – There is good depth for 2024, but it would be good to add a young player to develop for the future. Ojulari and Uche signed 1-year deals. At this point, it doesn’t feel like Bryce Huff is a long term fit.

OL – There are a couple of ways to go here. The team could add an OG to challenge for the RG spot. They would love to find an OT to develop into a good swing tackle.

CB – The Eagles could add someone to help with depth.

RB – This is a deep class and there is still plenty of talent available. The Eagles might fall in love with a back and want to add him.

TE – Maybe Dallas Goedert stays. Maybe they trade for a veteran. The Eagles haven’t shown any urgency in drafting a TE so it is hard to know what they are thinking.

The Eagles could add a QB or WR if there is a player they really like. I don’t see those as needs or likely picks.

-VISITS TO PHILLY-

Most of the visitors have already been picked. Here is what’s left.

RB Jaydon Blue – Texas

OT Jalen Travis – Iowa State

ED Elijah Roberts – SMU
ED Tyler Baron – Miami

LB Kobe King – Penn State

SAF Jaylen Reed – Penn State
SAF Rayuan LaneΒ  -Navy

-SPECIAL INTEREST-

Some of these are draftable prospects, but there are also several UDFA types.

RB Rocket Sanders – South Carolina – Virtual meeting

TARGETS

OL Marcus Mbow – Purdue – 6-4, 302

Athletic OL has started at RG and RT. Has short arms so might be OG. Great on the move.

OT Jalen TravisΒ  – Iowa State – 6-8, 339

Big LT. Physical blocker who also has pass protection skills.

ED David Walker – Central Arkansas – 6-1, 263

Older player from a small school. Fun tape. Has a non-stop motor. Really good showing at the Senior Bowl. My favorite prospect left in the draft.

OG Miles Frazier – LSU – 6-6, 317

Veteran RG has good size and toughness.

ED Barryn Sorrell – Texas – 6-3, 256

Had a breakout season in 2024 and then a good showing at the Senior Bowl.

ED Bradyn Swinson – LSU – 6-4, 255Β

Surprised he is still available. Didn’t start until 2024, but then had 13.5 TFLs, 8 sacks.

DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins – Georgia – 6-4, 276Β

Versatile DL who can play on the edge or inside. Might remind you of Milton Williams with size/skills.

DT Joshua Farmer – Florida State – 6-3, 305

Tough, productive DT. Strong enough to be a good run defender. Has a good motor and can get after the QB.

DT Deone Walker – Kentucky – 6-8, 328

Looked like a 1st round pick a year ago. Had a down season. No idea if the Eagles like him. Fascinating potential.

ED Elijah Roberts – SMU – 6-4, 285

The Eagles showed interest in Roberts. He can play off the edge or inside. Very good motor.

*****

I would love to see the Eagles go get OT Jalen Travis early in the 4th and then Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins with the next pick. Travis would improve the depth at OT. Ingram-Dawkins would give them a versatile defender who can affect the QB from multiple spots.

David Walker is my favorite player, but there are lots of good edge rushers still available. The Eagles could still add someone in the 5th if they want an edge.
