Rodney McLeod is out and that’s not good. This means Chris Maragos and Kamu Grugier-Hill will be the guys playing alongside Malcolm Jenkins. It will be interesting to see if Jenkins stays in the box, where he plays a lot or gets moved back to the deep patrol. Jim Schwartz has been preparing for this all week so I’m sure he’ll have a good plan. Whether the players execute it or not is a whole other story.
Sometimes the Next Man Up situation brings out the best in a player. Remember seeing Isaac Seumalo playing RT last year? That was shocking. Other times you find out that the guy was on the bench for a reason. We’ll have to wait and see what happens today.
This game is going to be won or lost up front. If the DL does their job, the DBs won’t have to be great. If the Giants OL plays out of their mind, the DBs are going to have a long day.

Jenkins playing is a big deal for the Giants. CB Eli Apple is struggling so having Jenkins and DRC out there helps quite a bit.
Expect the Eagles to test Apple today. He has poor ball skills so even when he’s got tight coverage the WR can be somewhat open.
This is going to be an interesting game. Eagles just need to find a way to win.

This is a fascinating point of the season. Each game is a huge puzzle piece that fills in information we could only speculate about before.
Time to bury the Giants.
As long as Manning doesn’t hit at least 4+ bombs today (20+ yards) today, the Eagles win this. Need good tackling by the Eagles’ secondary because ODB isn’t at full-speed yet and Marshall is pretty slow at this point.
Just hope Wentz doesn’t keep turning over the ball 2-3 times/game. Reminds me too much of Vick’s tenure here.

Not sure that was a wasted challenge. I think it’s most likely it was a good downing. But, there may not have been an angle to conclusively show it, i.e. the ball was still bouncing around KGH when his foot was in the end zone. I don’t think he touched it in that state, but that was the hardest aspect to see given the angles. It was probably at the absolute borderline between “call stands” and “good downing”; not nearly a foregone conclusion that it wasn’t going to be overturned.

Only success we’ve had passing is by dinking and dunking. We also haven’t done a good job of pass blocking and Wentz holds the ball too long. What made him so confident that the offense would convert on 4th and 8??? Just back them up and try to get the ball back with good field position OR at least make NYG earn their points instead of giving them great field position. So so frustrating.

I just got home and have only been able to follow the ESPN play-by-play. Did Pederson really go for it on 4th and 8 from midfield with this terrible O line? I have been a defender of “big balls Doug” but that is straight up moronic.

If it was 4 and 4/4 and 3, I could understand the rationale a bit more.
Giants can’t run it, and won’t (or shouldn’t) risk throwing it deep. Not sure he could have gone down the field in two minutes without risking things. Would rather we make him go 90 yards rather than 50. They had zero points thus far, so we have stopped them eventually. There was really no good percentages in going for it on 4th and 8 when we have not been great on long plays. Just should never made a decision that bad, especially when given a timeout to think it over.
I could see it if the Giants had the wrong personnel out there, but once they called timeout, no. Not a firing offense to be sure, but not a good one for the memory books either. And I do like Doug.
We stopped them by pure luck. The run game thing is stupid. We haven’t been getting home on Eli to even justify the defense playing well against a matchup they should win.
The previous stops on Giants drives were not pure luck. Eventually ,they were not able to continue to make first downs. But if you give them starting position near the 50, you may not have enough time to stop them. We got extremely, extremely lucky to not give up points there.

Statistically it is the right call. Punt is probably a net 25 yards, which is not worth the ~35% chance of completing and getting new set of downs at the 35, where you should be able to kick a FG or go for a TD.
The sack made it much worse giving an extra 10 yards – but that is on Wentz and OL not Doug.
I don’t buy that it is statically the right thing to do once you condition on the game situation. We’re up 7-0 with 2.5 minutes remaining. Pin them and force them to go the length of the field. Its the right call unconditionally perhaps, but not then and there.
So they marched 45+ yards on us easily in a minute. You do the math.

As much as Eagles’ fans seem to think the Boys are their biggest rival, it is the Giants’ hands down.
More memorable games including finishes and closer geography especially if you live in Central Jersey in Montgomery County.

I have been at two Giants’ games at the Meadowlands including a MNF ~15 years ago where the behavior was brutal.

I mean, the same happens in Philly. If you were in Dallas, you would have been surrounded by eagles fans.
I’ve always felt that too. However, I think Dallas and Gmen hate each other more than they hate us.
That might be age-related. Anyone who was a fan in the late 80s/early 90s will have trouble putting anything above Eagles/Cowboys. They were flamboyant and we were physical.
