Turkey Day Thread

I’ll be off and on the computer today.  We finally have some good Thanksgiving Day games.

I think it behooves us to cheer for the Packers.

And Flipper better take down the Cowgirls.  I want a repeat of 1993.  If you don’t remember, ask Leon Lett and he’ll tell you all about it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone !!!

Best holiday wishes from me, Sam, Mike, Landri, the Little Ball of Hate, Megan, and the fine makers of PBR.

In my eyes the second biggest surprise of this week would be the Dolphins beating the Boys in Dallas. Just behind an Eagles upset over the Bradys following Sunday.

Hey Tommy, Happy Thanksgiving to you. I think I speak for all of us in saying we appreciate all the hard work you put into making this a great blog. I’d also say it speaks to the level of your writing that this site attracts intelligent dialogue and we don’t have to deal with any of the raw sewage that’s found in other Eagles sites. May your PBRs be cold and Megan be hot for you.

Second this. My day just isn’t the same when I don’t come here and see what you have to say about our oh so lovable iggles. Have a happy Thanksgiving and hopefully we will all be even happier after a super-awesome Romotime meltdown bonanza!

The NFL needs to dial back the rules that not so aggressively encourage passing.

Too much school-yard flag football. DBs can’t hit receivers while they’re catching the ball. Or maybe they can . . . depending on the officiating crew.

    Koyaanisqatsi.

Koyaanisqatsi is, like, the greatest stoner movie of all time. Especially any parts with Phillip Glass’s “Pruit Igoe.” I am gone to the world when that song is playing. Sorry, but I had to say it.

    Hey Tommy,

What’s your opinion on Matt Moore? He looks pretty smart and accurate today. Actually looks a little like Romo without the stupid decisions.

The Fins may not need to draft a QB is he keeps this up.

What curse to the ‘pukes own over opposition kickers

Have you seen the South Park episode about PBR from last week? Incredible! If only Philly was in colorado!

I will be really surprised if the eagles wr don’t light up the cowboy’s corners…

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you Tommy, and wish you a happy thanksgiving! I really admire your work, and highly appreciate everything you bring to my football-world! I enter this blog several times a day, and have followed you closely since the eaglesblitz-days… Keep up the good work!

If the cowboys win this game, they will win the division.

  18. 18 Anonymous said at 7:14 PM on November 24th, 2011:

Yup. This is when Romo pulls it out and the national media starts the Cowboys super bowl train.

We all know what happens in December and January.

  19. 19 Steve H said at 9:34 PM on November 24th, 2011:

Well the good news is at least the Giants and Cowboys still have to play each other twice, and the Giants have a brutal next couple of games. If the Boys even drop 1 game we control our own destiny in regards to our record versus theirs because we still have to play them once and we’d own the tiebreaker. It’s not looking great but we’re not completely dead in the water. Have to win at NE this week.

Not like it does matter, but the game is in PHILLY this week.

  21. 21 Steve H said at 4:47 AM on November 25th, 2011:

crap, home games are a big disadvantage for us.

  22. 22 Adam Shaw said at 12:30 AM on November 25th, 2011:

It’s my understanding that the Eagles use carts for pretty much any injury at practices because the walk to the trainers/rooms from the fields is so far.

Did anybody else question Sparano when he didn’t go for the 2-pt convert after Marshall’s TD? I was surprised by it and said to the guy watching with me the Dolphins are gonna lose this game by 1 point. I could feel it in my bones that it would happen…..

  23. 23 Kammich said at 12:41 AM on November 25th, 2011:

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you mother lovers. I toast a glass of cheap boxed Zinfandel wine to you all, while I pimp out to Bobby Womack’s “Across 110th Street” and eat a turkey leg. Yeah, thats how I roll.

I never truly expected Miami to beat the Pukes, but the close-call was enough to slightly dampen my night. If the Phins had the ability to close, my divisional outlook would be a lot more optimistic. Instead, I’m back to the “ho-hum, whatever” stance that I’ve had since Monday.

Sunday will be very, very telling. Every week of this season has felt like “Do-Or-Die.” But this week feels like it, in the most literal sense. A loss is a deflation of everything, and a likely top-10 pick. A win, we keep the train rolling and see what we can hash out. Is that hyperbole? Probably. I’m a Philly fan. Anger is my canvas, and hyperbole is my paint brush.

  24. 24 Sjampen said at 8:41 AM on November 25th, 2011:

This week could be the end off our playoff chances, but the season is NEVER over until we played the cowboys twice. I want the sweep and I don’t want to hand them anything. If they want to win, they have to battle of Cole, Jenkins & Babin from injuring Mr. brokeback cowboy. If Romo stands, we failed.

  25. 25 Anonymous said at 10:22 AM on November 25th, 2011:

You can go wrong with cheap wine, turkey legs and “Across 110th st.” In NY, we like that song so much, we have a Saturday afternoon radio show named for it! True.

  26. 26 Anonymous said at 10:23 AM on November 25th, 2011:

    that’s “can’t” go wrong….
