Did anyone catch the players’ game intro around 8, when they had them and the coaches talk about “winning”? Most hypocritical game intro ever! They had two 4-7 teams recite Lombardi quote about what it takes to win! It came off more like the NFL made them write the keys to winning on a blackboard 300 times.

There was absolutely no way that was a catch. Ball bounced off his chest, hit the ground, then turned over and touched the ground again as he tried to control it.

Chaney has regressed so much since last year that it is crazy.
I said it this summer and no one wanted to hear it, but you can’t regress when you only have a sample size of 3 or 4 games. Chaney had a few great games at the end of last year, but he was FAR from a guaranteed thing and the reality is he was barely a more known commodity than our rookies this year. I thought he would do better than this, but he was clearly severely overhyped from last year.

You know Im not even that mad right now. I’ve just accepted that we’re not a very good football team and any wins we get along the way for the rest of the year are just gravy.
Has AR quit on this team? What possible reason is there not to call a time out before the FG? Only reason is you plan on getting the kick off and then taking a knee. Had he called a time out, that would have required probably two kneel downs, regardless of where we ended up with the ball. With that much time on the board and the lead, why not try to score. Especially when the season is so desperate as it is.
Vince Young sucks….this team sucks…Oh well, there’s always next year. Those that want to hang it on Andy…is it Andy’s fault that VY cannot throw a decent pass to open receivers? Or, is it Vince’s fault that he threw a pick 6 to a covered RB with the game on the line? If you are successful in getting AR fired, will you stand up and say you were wrong after he goes out and wins a SB with another team? As much as athnyone wants to lay this team’s failures in his lap, the fact remains, that the man took this team to NFC Championship games FIVE times (once with a team that was all written off for dead) and the Super Bowl once.
This is NOT those teams. Not even close. I’ve been on the FIRE Andy Reid bandwagon once this year, but, after looking at things objectively, see the failure coming higher than the level of HC/VP. Why didn’t JOw Banner insist that a OL caoch wasn’t qualified to be DC? Who is in charge of Howie Roseman and the draft? Who really knows?
And, for that matter, if you’re going to blast this team for their draft busts, then you have to give credit to the success. McNabb > Rickie Williams and definitely the best QB of that draft ( that anyone actually predicted to be better than an average QB, to cover my ass), LeSean McCoy was one of the most BRILLIANT draft picks the EAGLES have EVER made, let alone, since I’ve been watching (since Randall, Buddy, Reggie and Jerome were around), if not ever. DeSean = Home Run, Maclin = Great Pick, Celeck = Great Pick, Lito and Sheldon were both good picks (regardless of how things ended). So, before ripping Andy over this year, it is very important to objectively look at this team.
Last year was supposed to be a rebuilding year. That was widely accepted at the beginning of the season, with a lot of youth on defense and a new QB. That team really exceeded expectations (and their own talent level) by making the playoffs and making it a game against what is now known as the juggenaught in Green Bay. This year’s team had expectation heapupon it, based on how close last year’s overperforming team finished + projections of how all the flashy names would make the team better.
As a Yankees fan, I know all too well what it means when expectations are high and my team loses. The Eagles have crushed me, and every year that I’ve been a fan. Sometimes, a change is necessary to push a team over the top (as was the case when Girardi took over a veteran team with chamoionships on their resumesw, mixed with some youth and free agents). The difference is, there were sevthe dreral veteran who had ACTUALLY WON a championship on that team, and a coach who was hungrier than the players on the team to win.
Andy Reid hasn’t thrown a single interception when the team was driving for a score. Andy Reid hasn’t blown a single coverage all year. Because, Andy Reid isn’t a football player. Juan Castillo may have been the guy he pushed for, but, really, whose fault is that? Banner and Roseman for going along with it. But, if you want run him out of town for failing in the second year of what should have been a rebuilding project (and actually is), then shame on you. I just hope that you have the guts to admit as much when you are wrong (you probably won’t).
