Dion Lewis – Threat To America’s Safety
Posted: July 9th, 2012 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 16 Comments »Dion Lewis is now a felony criminal. He didn’t kill anyone. He didn’t beat anyone. He didn’t steal anything. Dion skipped past all of that and even pulling the tags off a mattress and went big time … he pulled a fire alarm at a hotel.
This mild-mannered RB and alleged KOR is now a walking threat to the very world we live in. If Sammy The Bull Gravano was walking down the street and saw Dion coming his way, Sammy would go to the other side of the street. Why risk it?
Enough hyperbole and bad jokes? Sounds like Dion and his brother were drunk and got locked out of the hotel. They banged on the front door, but no one was around. That led to the genius decision to pull the fire alarm. This is a dumb crime, but it is legit because pulling the fire alarm at a hotel at 4am is dangerous. Imagine if you were sleeping away and the alarm went off. You’d assume it was nothing, but would be a bit worried and definitely pissed off.
I’ve done about everything possible in a hotel. I’ve slept beside the ice machine (inside the hotel). I’ve played late night golf in the hallway. I’ve helped put holes in some walls. I’ve been a nuisance to those around me on a few occasions (in my defense, who doesn’t want to listen to the Grateful Dead at full blast at 2am?). I’ve never pulled a fire alarm. Just never got that stupid. Plus, cops come when you do that and they take it seriously. My knucklehead adventures always stop short of felonies.
I doubt an idiotic situation like this will affect Dion with the Eagles or the NFL. It is too serious to ignore, but not the kind of violent behavior that warrants suspension or anything like that.
Time for more bad jokes. Dion’s defense attorney has a very serious decision to make. Does he claim that a one-armed man did this and that Dion is innocent or does he simply use the Chewbacca defense?
Best comment by a fan on Twitter: “I hope they charge him as a minor.”

Is it me or do the Eagles players have the weirdest arrests? You have this. There was the situation last year when King Dunlap was arrested for trying to get his vehicle real close to a building to pick up his dad, who was in a wheelchair. Jason Peters got into trouble for breaking a loud noise (music) ordinance. Juqua Parker was busted for pot possession a few years back.
Other teams have guys doing some serious stuff. I’m glad the Eagles don’t have a bunch of scumbags. It just seems odd that our guys get arrested for such odd stuff when you look around the league and see so many other serious issues. You can bring up Mike Vick, but his issues are in the past.
I’m not making any conclusions. Just an observation.

I’ll put up a more serious post later on.

Andy should take away his TV and put him in timeout.
blimey. i was considering offering you hospitality in case you ever wandered around my neck of the woods. but now, with what you have revealed of your boisterous, and let’s say it, borderline outlaw life ?
I’d be on best behavior for you, of course.
No wonder he is a backup. Someone with starting potential would have been smart enough to start a trashcan outside the hotel on fire first.
So true.
So Tommy’s one of THOSE assholes, huh…
That was old Tommy. New Tommy is quiet as a junebug, and a whole lot cuter.
[…] Technically then, this is a crime, although calling it a felony offense is quite difficult. It’s an act of juvenile stupidity by a 21-year-old kid, and most importantly, Lewis is now a serious threat to the sleep Americans so desperately need. […]
I always figured that since I’m an Eagles fan that my hatred of the Cowboys, Redskins and Giants is come by honestly.
Bill Belichick, while a great coach, is a cheater, liar and has the personality of a real dirt bag. I don’t really hate him. He isn’t worth the energy.
There are plenty of people we don’t like just because of the way they look. That a pretty human thing to do. I try not to really hate too many of them, however.
On Dion Lewis: You can make fun of the situation if you want. But I think the Eagles need a back up running back who can block on third down as well as run. They had better make sure they get one in case Lewis gets suspended or acts up again. Maybe he should be cut because if they need to sign a veteran running back they can’t keep Lewis and a promising rookie unless they want four running backs on the roster.
I don’t like the Patriots. I used to but since moving to New England, I have grown tired of their fans.
Every discussion, every question is either answered with “Belichick” or “Brady.”
For instance, “So Pete, who do you have winning this weekend, Colts or Pats.”
“Pats.”
“Oh really, why.”
“Because we have Belichick and he is the best coach in the world. He can stop anyone.”
“But the last time they played, the Colts won. Why will this weekend be different?”
“I don’t know but it will because we have Belichick.”
OK, thanks buddy for the insight.
Other than the Patriots, I guess the Raiders. Not too fond of the Saints, either.
And with that, it appears I posted this under the wrong discussion. Sorry about that.
No worries. Topics run into each other.
Totally made a Chewbacca defense reference over at BGN before reading this. GMTA.
Btw, we’ve moved on from Lawlor to Lawless.

Dont forget Dhani Jones being arrested for dancing in the street. I dont remember if he was on the team at the time though.
