Nate Allen sits. David Sims starts. Sounds scary, but the good news is that Drew Brees doesn’t know what to expect.

Darryl Tapp is in Philly with his wife as she gives birth. Mike Patterson is active. Expect Cullen Jenkins to get reps at DE.

All 4 RBs are active. Interesting. Or dumb. Let’s see the plan and figure out what Big Red is thinking.

I don’t agree. McCoy seems to have more urgency, as do some of the other players. We knew their offense would move the ball. We just can’t do anything with 3 defenders racing Vick to the back of his drop.
I don’t see it as an effort thing.

i know their D is historically bad in terms of yards per game, but i dont know about points per game.
so far, we are doing pretty well yardage wise, but just like we’ve seen all year, all the yards in the world don’t count for any points.

A Watching global tactical swings here…I think we’ve seen beginning of the end of the cover-2 shells that’ve come up over the last year, as teams with good running backs and good run-blocking OLs have started to CRUSH anyone who don’t have enough bodies up close (and itty-bitty DBs who can’t make that open field tackle).

I like the thought, but I think you’re a bit behind on it. The swing to power Os happened 5 years ago. Now things are moving toward QBs who can read the play at the snap and before the snap and put the ball where the defense ain’t quickly. Those QBs are making O lines less important, because they don’t keep the ball as long.
Look at the best offenses in the NFL this year. Aside from the Texans, their lines ain’t great. Green Bay’s line is downright bad. The ball comes out before the rush gets there.

I can’t help but feel like Breeze would have hit that pass easily. Playing against Breeze is really highlighting Vick’s inaccuracy.
I’ve been defending Vick lately (the O-line is terrible, I didn’t think Vick had been that bad lately) but he really does not get the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there at a 2012 NFL level. “Read and react correctly” is the direction the league is going, and Vick isn’t that kind of player.
