PHI 21, NE 21 – 2nd Half Thread

What a bizarre 1st half. Tons of penalties. The Eagles only running a handful of plays in the 1st Qtr. And now a tie game. Nick Foles posted good numbers, but his play still isn’t as crisp as I’d like. Mark Sanchez looked terrific. Zach Ertz looks great. Jordan Matthews woke up and looks good.

As for the defense…awful early, but getting better.

The ball was out egregiously late on some his throws. The St Louis Rams ain’t the Patriots, they are in the regular season, and this is preseason. This is exactly the time to cut loose, read, and throw, and get his act down.

That fumble by Momah, was in small part because Foles did a double or triple hitch before throwing, and threw it too low. Momah should clean it up, but it did not help. Totally on target and that never happens.

I guess it depends on what you want the 3rd RB’s role to be. Is he part of the rotation as a change of pace, or is he a backup to your starter. If he is the former, you prefer to have a different size, but if it is the latter, having a similar back means you don’t have to tweak your offense as much.

Well that’s a big plus. I’m still hopeful that Cooper will be OK. But Maclin, with the Hammy, the constant icing of his knee, & his highly limited training camp & now limited pre season games to work with Foles, I’ve had this nagging feeling that he is a big unjust time bomb. Without those two & the receivers behind him, if this continues this course we are going to rely HEAVILY on Ertz, Celek, maybe Casey, Sproles & Shady to make this offense goes. MAYBE Mathews if he cures the drops. Which was a big problem for him in college. Along with he struggled in the NCAA gaining seperation. I DON’T want to jump the gun man, but if the chips don’t fall favorably for us, chip will HAVE to tweak this O’ ALLOT from last year.
