So close. The Eagles are so close to dominating this game. They have more than twice as many yards as the Saints. The Eagles have moved the ball up and down the field, only punting once.

And yet…they have only scored 10 points and lead by 3.

Turnovers hurt. Red Zone turnovers are even worse.

Sam Bradford has looked good on some plays, but has also thrown a pair of INTs in the end zone. Just give the Eagles a pair of FGs there and you have a 16-7 lead. Instead, the Eagles lead by a slim margin and can’t feel comfortable at all, despite looking dominant for parts of the 1st half.

Go score some points and let’s win this thing!

It actually looks more varied to me. Given how the defensive lines we faced seemed to be able to time the snap, and fire off the ball, it’s probably a good thing.

How do you feel as a saints fan? Brees last years and no real young talent. They are about to live some painful years. (I know that we aren’t that much better)

Would have to be worse having a HOF QB still playing well and just not having the talent around him. Bradford sucks, our OL sucks, and the position talent is extremely young and raw. Of course, at least the Saints got a Superbowl to celebrate 😛

I keep waiting for Drew Brees to expose this defense. The second half will really tell me a lot about this defense. I feel like they are real. I hope they show it.
P.S As soon as we had a 3rd and short with some momentum I started hoping they would go under center and impose their will for one yard. They called it and I was terrified. Play didnt go as planned but 29 did his job for once. I liked it.

He was not accurate today despite the 32 for 45. On a lot of those completions, WR had to adjust to the ball or the ball was put in a spot that slowed the WR down. When we talk accuracy, hit players in stride is what you are looking for, not completion percentage. Having said that, if moving forward, his only issue is that, I’ll definitely take it as a HUGE improvement from what we saw the fist 4 weeks. Of course, he still had those two terrible INTS and those can’t be overlooked simply because we dominated what was considered the worst defense in the league.

Also, while those numbers look good, how many times did we see Nick and Sanchez put up similar or better numbers in the last two seasons? Bradford’s accuracy was actually poor. As Iskar36 noted, you look at where he placed the ball and it was actually really bad on most of his down field throws. The picks were inexcusable. You take a shot down the field and the DB makes a great play, you tip your cap. You have open receivers in the RZ and give the DB a chance to make a pick? Horrible throw. Just piss poor ball placement. You keep saying, ‘give him time, he’ll get better.’ Sam isn’t a rookie or even a third year player. He’s a seasoned veteran playing in a scheme that’s allowed average talents like Foles and Sanchez to put up pro-bowl numbers. Sure, you can put some of the blame on the lack of running game, but the pass protection has been there for most of the season. I just don’t see how any honest observer can consider Bradford an upgrade.

Absolutely, his receivers aren’t helping him. Problem is, he’s not helping his receivers either. You say we’re being over critical, then how is it fair to say “Nick’s and Sanchez’s stats were inflated by this offense, it’s not fair to compare them to Bradford.” First quarter of the season, he’s been the exact flawed QB we saw in St. Louis. He plays scared in the pocket and would rather check down than take shots down the field. When he does try to make tight window throws, it’s when he really doesn’t need to, leading to picks. He also throws too damn hard over the middle of the field which has exacerbated his receivers poor hands.
I’m thrilled we won the game and Bradford really did play better down the stretch after a really shaky start. I hope he ultimately proves me wrong, but I’m not going to put my head in the sand and say it’s better just ‘because.’

I’m not saying he’s been perfect, but i watch Brady and Rodgers play qb and they don’t make every throw right on the money, hell they are lucky to put half their balls on the money….those guys wouldn’t be good enough here either for some people. I’m not burying my head in the sand either, i admit the 2 int’s he threw were bad, especially the 1st one, but how many drops did they have again today? i count at least 3 by JMatt, one by Ertz and one from Cooper and none of them were tough catches and i didn’t see any spectacular catches….maybe one from Ertz on a ball Bradford put only where he could catch it.
Again i’m not saying the guy has played on an all-pro level, he has been mediocre overall, but i think the over-analysis is out of hand. I get that he’s the QB and the trade and all that….but as the lists of problems on this team goes he is nowhere near the top

That was a special catch by Ertz. Great throw, great catch. I’ll gladly tip my cap on that play. My concern is the number of poorly placed balls on down field throws. Not every throw is going to be perfect, but when most throws over ten yards force the receiver to either stop, stretch, etc. you’re not going to make a lot of yards down the field. I posted in the next thread and linked an article that compares Bradford’s and Fole’s starts to the season. They are remarkably similar and remember, that poor start was enough to get Foles a ticket out of town.

Foles was always a square peg in a round hole here in Philly. He was told he needed to take less sacks in 2014 and resorted to back pedaling when facing pressure. That led to a lot of back foot throws and a corresponding uptick in interceptions. I thought his issues were correctable, but I do understand the choice to move on from him. I just never understood why Kelly and the Eagles glommed onto Bradford as their savior. Seems like just as bad a fit and an overpriced injury prone one as well.

No where near the best game for Demarco, but when he goes and watches the tape Monday with the RBs, he will see “how much meat he left on the bone” by not trusting his OL to put his head down and run the plays instead of looking for the perfect hole which really held Murray back from having a great game… The OL blocking was there for Murray to have a monster game and it will be crystal clear to Murray when we watches the film, so hopefully this builds some confidence in our OL after their putrid play probably traumatized Murray in September..,,if the OL continues to click against the top rated run defense, I expect to see a much better game by Murray next week because of how he will be humbled when he watches the film with the rest of the RBS and Duece,.

While everyone is loving Ryan Mathews (rightfully so since he is running like an animal), I’m calling it right now, the Giants game will be Murrays true breakout party as an eagle.

New Orleans is truly terrible. Tough to take too many positives out of this win. Sam looked okay against a terrible secondary, OL looked okay against a terrible front-7.
For now, happy that Chip stopped the bleeding. Big game next week. A loss versus the Giants and season is probably over.

Rob Ryan has been one of the worst defensive coordinators in the entire NFL. Just not a good team.

The secondary better get the credit they deserve because Brees gets the ball out so fast, in order for us to get sacks on Brees and ultimately force the turnovers, the coverage had to be real tight, we were taking away Brees first read forcing him to hold the ball so we could sack and pressure him into turnover

Gotta show love n Respect to the two Tackles.., forget how they played, who they played, just the fact that they were able to go the entire game and seem to look well going into next game is HUGE.. I had no idea if they would be able to get thru this game, but they gutted it out and the OL had its most complete game of the season run and pass blocking well enough to put up 500 plus yards which hasn’t been easy this year.. Tobin, Barbre and Kelce all looked good pulling In the run game, and best of all, the OL was able to play better while also eliminating all the penalties that have been killing us..

Cox said that this was the first time at any level where he had a 3 sack game, and talked about How the coaches always have us working on our force fumble technique..
