The Giants looked great on their opening drive. Then things got weird. Penalties. Turnovers. Strange plays. By both teams. The Eagles were able to out-ugly the Giants and build a 10-point lead.

Eagles get the ball to open the 2nd half.

Love the way the D took over the game in the 2nd quarter. More of that please.

Sam Bradford has been money after halftime. He needs to play a lot better. He stunk in the 1st half.

    Some of it looked cool, though the fatal flaw of episodes 1-3 were two-dimensional characters. Well, one of many fatal flaws. No sign of personality for anyone in the trailer, but we can still hope.

    At the same time, 3 turnovers and a turnover on downs, plus defense suffocating in second quarter, to come out of the first half with only a 10 point lead is a disaster. If we pick up the play we might be able to protect that lead and pull out a W. Otherwise I hope we got 2 turnovers left in the tank

    I can certainly see the argument for taking the risk, but I personally disagreed with the decision then and still disagree with it now. I never bought the idea that Bradford’s struggles were simply due to the team around him.

    The way Bradford is playing, I think Sanchez would be better. The argument for Bradford though (outside of in invesent) is that Bradford’s ceiling is WAY higher than Sanchez’s. Sanchez’s ceiling isn’t high enough to get you anywhere meaningful. The question now is, how likely is it that Bradford will ever actually match his potential. With each passing week, it seems less and less likely and at some point you give up on it and just go with Samchez.

I don’t know that we have necessarily gotten to that point yet, but we certainly are close. Once you can say definitively that Bradford isn’t getting you anywhere, after a game like this, I think putting Sanchez in, even just to give the offense something to rally around has some benefits.

    So are we an elite defense? Front 7 is beasting and have nice depth there once we are healthy. Safeties are top-tier now. CBs are biggest weakness but personally I like Carroll.

    I do think the offense is getting better though. It’s not great (clearly), but the running game is starting to get better, and there are some things working in the receiving game. The mistakes have to stop, but with the D generating turnovers, the O doesn’t have to be terrific with all the extra chances.

    Either Chip can’t pick a QB or he can’t develop one. But he’s on Year 3, at some point it becomes his problem.

    Nick Foles was garbage, but he had value. Onus was on Chip to extract something meaningful from that, so far has been a disaster.

    Bradford had 3 ints…I’m only going to kill him on 1 of them (the overthrow to Ertz). The other two, IMO, he was giving his boys a chance to make a play. Cooper stopped running, which even if he was running a deep comeback it was a lazy route to begin with…ends up being an easy pick. Then a jump ball to Ertz who simply got beat on the play (the ball could have been thrown a little higher). I like the aggressiveness and hopefully our gus will come down with more of them I’m the future.
