More of the same.

The offense started fine, but then hit a wall.

The defense is just struggling.

Ugh.

At least we’ve got stuffing.

Rough game. Davis isnt a good DC. Maybe average but not good. Hes had 3 years to build the D and its still average to bad. At least we should get a decent draft pick for a qb.

Chip will be the coach next year. DC will be different for sure.

Best not to make any predictions at this point. Things went from bad (the season) to worse (the last two games).

  9. 9 fran35 said at 2:38 PM on November 26th, 2015:

The damn thing is that Billy Davis is a likeable enough guy. Seems like a genuine nice guy. Chip Kelly is an absolute ass, a complete Narcissist.

  10. 10 Matt Hoover said at 3:14 PM on November 26th, 2015:

I want John Gruden and Tony Dungy to be asked to interview if both decline I would then push hard for Jim Mora Jr he would take it however if he said no then Hugh Jackson from the bengals, again he would take it but if not my last resort is tom cable the Seahawks oline coach, I believe both cable and Jackson got raw deals on Oakland and both have done excellent since

  11. 11 JoeBlow said at 3:34 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Jim Mora jr??? if you thought Chip was arrogant and cocky…..

  13. 13 ACViking said at 2:13 PM on November 26th, 2015:

I don’t remember a game where the opposing receivers have been so open.

Maybe that’s the NFL — and why, after every game, we hear about how Eagles receivers run wide open but the QB does not get them the ball.

Why does it surprise you that the Eagles give up yards over the middle every play?.Same story for the last 5 years.

  16. 16 Kevin Ryan said at 2:15 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Can we please get rid of Billy Davis? Rookie on HOF received with no help is stupid at the backyard level. Team looks asleep, Chip’s play-calling is just as bad. I could stomach the losses but the complete lack of effort and heart shows the coaches have lost this team.

  17. 17 JohnDoe610 said at 2:15 PM on November 26th, 2015:

So who do we think will be the next Eagles coach? Chip is done at the end of the season, right?

  18. 18 Dragon_Eagle said at 2:21 PM on November 26th, 2015:

I want someone from the pros and with real leadership skills. No more college “geniuses.” Someone who delegates to the OC and DC and keeps their eye on the big picture. I want the early career AR equivalent.

  19. 19 JohnDoe610 said at 2:24 PM on November 26th, 2015:

The only college coach I’d want is Harbaugh. That’s why I’d want to keep Chip another year. I don’t see any good candidates.

  20. 20 TypicalDouche said at 2:22 PM on November 26th, 2015:

No way Chip is done unless he leaves on his own.

  21. 21 JohnDoe610 said at 2:25 PM on November 26th, 2015:

I don’t dislike Chip. And given the other options out there I’d prefer to keep him. The only coach I would get excited about is Harbaugh and he ain’t leaving Ann Arbor.

I say bring back Chucki and get Stafford in the offseason. Let Demario run straight ahead instead of EW. Aikman nailed it earlier in the broadcast when he said both Chip and Davis are stupidly stubborn. Rookie on HOF receiver with no help, Demarco not running HIS way, running Chip’s way and results for both have been brutal.

Regarding talent and a franchise QB …

Any coach can win no matter what the scheme.

    Look at Whisenhunt.

The NFL should go back to the pre-1979 rules of allowing bump-and-run all over the field.

It’ll level the playing field. The way things are now though, the team is no chance without a great quarterback

  41. 41 BlindChow said at 2:27 PM on November 26th, 2015:

I don’t see that making a difference with this team. Our DB’s are never near enough to the receivers to touch them.

  62. 62 anon said at 3:30 PM on November 26th, 2015:

No it’s clear .We aren’t trying . If we wanted to win we would have played Bradford. Question is how to keep guys motivated for 5 more games and off-season .

  63. 63 ACViking said at 2:38 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Another eight minute drive against the defense coming out of halftime.

Lions have had the ball 26 of the last 32 minutes

  64. 64 Dragon_Eagle said at 2:38 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Our defense played well for about 9 games and suddenly fell off a cliff.

Hypothesis: Here is the 16-game season effect of not caring about time of possession. In a game our defense gets tired, but over a season, it also has its effect.

The above plus Billy Davis’s inability to make any adjustments.

  65. 65 Crus57 said at 2:39 PM on November 26th, 2015:

It also coincided with Hicks getting injured, and he was the guy wearing the headset and getting the D set on the field

  75. 75 fran35 said at 2:47 PM on November 26th, 2015:

The first 2 years thing is erroneous as hell anyway. Last year we looked so bad for the last 7 games. Didn’t we have a 6 game losing streak or something? Couple that with this stinker of a season, and even Lawlor can’t defend the genius/Tao of Chip Kelly.

  90. 90 JoeBlow said at 2:53 PM on November 26th, 2015:

maybe someone can dig up the the stat for me but he had a stretch of 4 games where he gave up an average of 3 catches, 35 yards and no td’s

  91. 91 fran35 said at 3:00 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Just as our offense has been decent from a statistical standpoint, anyone who knows from watching the games that those are empty stats. The offense doesn’t pass the eyeball test. That is how I feel about maxwell. Even though he is not hemorrhaging lately, I believe it is because we have been bleeding elsewhere. He is still just as ripe as he was earlier in the season when he got torched by such luminaries as Willie Snead

  92. 92 JoeBlow said at 3:02 PM on November 26th, 2015:

he gave up one play against snead for 16 yards…..the rest of sneads yards came against carroll and when safeties were covering him in the slot……and i know willie snead isn’t a household name but he has had a lot of good games this year

  93. 93 ChoTime said at 3:47 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Has he done anything, or have teams simply gouged us for low-hanging fruit that’s even easier than taking advantage of him?

  94. 94 JoeBlow said at 3:54 PM on November 26th, 2015:

i’m not sure what your expecting? He’s not deion sanders and is going to take pick sixes back to the house, although he tackles like him at times. Im not saying he’s a great corner and im not saying he’s worth his contract, he is clearly not any of those things. But the question was if he is better than Cary and i think he is.

plus idk if it’s coaching or what but if the scheme or gameplan is him to play 7 yards off every guy he covers then he really doesn’t have a chance to start with. He should be up on the ball jamming the receiver

  95. 95 ChoTime said at 4:02 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Not getting burnt for 50 yard touchdowns is good. Giving up 5 yard completions at will in order to not give up 50 yard touchdowns is… still not good.

  96. 96 JoeBlow said at 4:07 PM on November 26th, 2015:

i agree….but i think a lot of that has to do with scheme

  97. 97 ChoTime said at 4:10 PM on November 26th, 2015:

Not to belabor a point, but I think Cary Williams could give up 5 yard completions in order not to give up 50 yard ones too.

  102. 102 fran35 said at 3:14 PM on November 26th, 2015:

No. It’s your opinion. You said he played well, which is your opinion. If you said his statistics were good, then that would be factual. Something like Evan Turners statistics when he was with the Sixers. See what I’m doing with this? Your opinion is that maxwell has played well. Mine is that he has not. I did not say he was terrible at all times this season. You said he played well. Which is rsther bold, but you are entitled to your opinion. But my opinion is that he has not played well.

Offense continues to be absolutely awful with NO adjustments by Chip. Lions know exactly what is coming and the 3 and outs pile up.

Defense has finally buckled under the pressure of playing 40+ mins a game and injuries. They have been putrid the last two games.

ST is nothing special, maybe it never was, maybe last season was a fluke, but this year the mediocrity is noticeable.

Who knows if this team has given up on Chip, but they certainly look like it to me

You wish! I wish!.. Unfortumately there is about 2 decades worth of data that says No CHANCE Lurie Fires chip after his first down year with two years left on his deed….LUrie is definitely going to give chip another year.
    ..
Chip could walk away, but I find that hard to believe because he is a proud guy who worked hard to get to this point, and I think he really likes coaching the pros, and he needs to be at peace with givng up ALL his pro aspirations in order for him to walk away and leave the mess that he created this year. If he does that, he probably won’t ever get another shot in the NFL… So it’s more likely that the season ends, he takes a long 4-5 months break from the media, comes back to coach us next year and try to rebuild his stock a little bit. After next season, LUrie woudl need to make a decision on him anyway, he would have to extend him, because no one goes into 5th year as a lame duck coach. So if chip doesn’t do a good enough job to earn an extension, they amicably split, work out a buyout for the last year after Chip improved the team some, rebuilding some of his stock, try and salvage a chance at another NFL opportunity in the future.
    ..
After Demanding GM power, make no mistake, chip threatened to leave to get this power, so after demanding this power, and making a complete mess of this franchise, if he quits on LUrie and runs back to college, he would be disgraced like lane kiffin and Spurrier and would kill any hope to ever work in the NFL again, and I have a hard time seeing him disgrace his reputation. Quoting is basically like Selling Low after Buying High… Even if he is planning his exit strategy from Philly, I think he has to come back and try to rebuild his stock a bit, before he leaves… After all. This is going to spiral out of control and be SO BAD this season, that he is setting the bar extremely low so it won’t be hard for him to get this team to show some grpwth next year, build his reputation up a bit, and when lUrie declines to extend him, they work out a buyout because no one goes into a contract year as a lame duck these years, so he will be able to save some face…

Whether we like it or not, it will be at least 1 more year of the chip show

There is no hope, for one simple reason, chip holds NO ONE accountable. There is literally NOTHING a player can do to get himself benched, let alone make a guy innactive on Gameday, and chip damn sure won’t Fire or cut anyone.. No ones job is ever at risk, and they all know it.
    ..
after Miles Austin showed one of the worst games I ever seen from a WR the past 3 weeks was he Cut? Was he demoted to innactive? Was he even benched? Of course Not… This Detroit game was still within reach and on a big 3rd down, inexplicably they went to Miles Austin, and Aikmen commented on what a Terrible route he ran and Sanchez didn’t stand a chance… But at this point, how can I blame Miles Austin? He is what he is, WASHED UP. there is NOTHING miles Austin can do about it, yet Chip still wasting everyone’s time putting him on the field, and Sanchez tried to throw to him. Miles Austin is the worst player on the roster. I don’t blame him for being who he is. I BLAME Chip, the joke of a WR coach and Sanchez…
    ..
A starting Running back for New England fumbles the ball, he doesn’t get another carry the rest of the game… lions and Miami looked as Horrible as we do, they refused to accept it, fired people who were grossly underperforming, and it actually sparked Miami and Lions and now they play better football than the Eagles…. But under chip, doesn’t matter how bad it is, doesn’t matter how much you fail, nothing is going to happen with you, we will continue to run the same 10 plays out of the same 3 formatipns, all out of shotgun of course..
    ..
Chips Offense has been such a mess, even what was a vastly improved Defense has become completely demoralized and what was the only bright spot of the season, now has also imploded… Today our defense was gutless. They can’t do anything right, and while they deserve part of the blame absoluteky, what do you really expect when the defense not only has to play against the opponent Every week, but they also have to play against our HEADCoach, because he damn sure HASNT done a single thing to try and help this defense.. He took their good play for granted all year, and kept piling on them, asking way too much of them, and now everyone is demoralized and the defense has imploded and started to play down to the level of chips offense. Instead of doing anything to help our defense, chip just took them for granted and kept piling on and on…. Just Look at today for Proof. offense hasn’t done shit in weeks. Negative 9 yards total in the second quarter. Does chip try to do anything different? Of course not? Does he try to call a trick play like throw it to a WR on a screen, and then let the WR throw down field and try and catch a defense slipping? How about a reverse? How about take 1 shot down field?
    ..
You know your defense has started to implode, your offense hung them out to dry all day. jason Peters is out, you have a backup QB in that has struggled, and your offense has been struggling for weeks, do you adjust, and slow it the fuck down? Of course not.. THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION, LOOK IT UP:
Today there was a stretch with 5 drives, all 3 and outs, that combined for a total of 2minutes and 54 seconds… That’s a disgrace of a coaching job…Basically today, chip Kelly Helped make it a shoutout type game with an offense that has been shooting blanks all year like some limped dick 90yr old who’s Viagra ran out, and this Doufus, continues with this ridiculous tempo… God forbid this coach does one damn thing to help this defense.. Nope. Took it for granted all year, and now they have become just as inepts as his offense has been all year..
    ..
Either Chip is a fraud that isn’t well versed in offensive footbal, and really only knows like 13 offensive plays and two formations, or he is losing his fucking mind. There is So Much he can try to catch an opponent of balance and try and spark a turn around, and he doesn’t attempt ANYTHING… Just continue with the same shit that isn’t working…

We will NEVER find out. But now that in year 3 chip ISNT catching defensive coordinators completely off guard and they understand what he is doing, I would love to give an opposing coach Truth Syrum and ask him how much easier is it to prepare for Chips offense compared to most of the other pro offense operations that a DC has to prepare for thruout the season.. I would imagine it’s easier to figure out chips offenses tendencies than a chameleon offense like the Patriots…
