Down Goes Brady!!!
Posted: December 6th, 2015 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 748 Comments »Tom Brady finally lost to the Eagles. Not many people expected this for a variety of reasons. Most simply, the Pats were 10-1 and the Eagles 4-7.
But this was one of those games where you throw out the records and stats. The Eagles were desperate and the Pats were banged up.
The 35-14 lead felt awkward and Brady cut into that with a pair of late TD passes. Then a fumble gave the ball back to them for one final drive. Somehow, the Eagles stood up and came up big on 4th/10.
Huge win for this team. It wasn’t smooth at the end, but this team made just enough plays to win the game.
Enjoy this game. You don’t beat elite QBs very often.
_
WOOHOO
As I said, we will face Brady one more time this season.
One more time!
Where’s RobNE? The avatar I made you came true!
nice work!! I was at my neighbor’s. A great win. Who knows what happens next but I’ll enjoy this one.
Though really, when they went up by 21 with 10 minutes left I thought, can’t this please be easy?
Pray for a tie for the DAL-WAS game?
Since I don’t have any delusions about the Eagles doing anything in the playoffs, even if they make it, go Redskins.
Do you not have any shame??
With this team?? No.
Bradford is a disaster.
Billy Davis is horrible.
Entire offensive design needs reexamined.
No prayer of winning it all. Sucks, but there it is.
Yea i know. I’m just giving you a hard time.
Do you go to sleep dying tonight?
I work 3rd shift 🙂
Won’t go to sleep til tomorrow morning 😛
Let’s go to bed dyin. Shall we?!
I tend to start the season delusionally optimistic, but by this point, it’s been beaten out of me.
Wouldn’t say Bradford is a disaster. He’s a competent serviceable QB. Elite QBs. Are rare
You should be ashamed of hourself. Go eat a cookie.
Remember when Brady caught a pass? I don’t.
I remember that he got so tired that he threw a pick on the next play.
I can rewatch that throw to Cooper over and over. That’s the definition of clutch. He had every reason to panic and pull a Sanchez but he hung in there and delivered the most important play of the game, maybe the season.
no picks
He’s getting better and better. Hope that continues.
In his last 4 starts he has 1 pick. That pick was against Carolina and hit Mattehws right in the chest before popping in the air.
I obviously want to see the remaining games, but Im on board with extending Sam
HUGE effort by Peters.
That was amazing, could have been a disaster if he hit Bradford there.
Problem is, I still don’t trust Bradford to make a play on 3rd down with any consistency. They may as well punt on 3rd and long.
He makes some, but if there is pressure, yes you can bet it’s a dump-off pass. That play however was a counterexample.
That was a GREAT moment for Bradford. He looked extremely pumped up from that one!
So, do we really have to cheer for the Cowboys tomorrow?
No. But you can cheer against Washington…
Thank you for putting it that way. I was very conflicted about tonight. The odds of the Cowpatties without Romo beating Washington are about the same as the Eagles beating the Pats. But yesterday prooves on any given day…
i still think Wash has the best chance to win the division, schedule isn’t that bad
Football gods willed this one. 99 yard pick six, punt block touchdown, punt return touchdown. They then bowed out for the 4th quarter and my god was that terrifying.
That strip by Eric Rowe on the pass to Martin on 4th down play… wow
http://www.joblo.com/newsimages1/death-banner-9-4.jpg
Cudos to Chip. Bench Austin. Practically benched Demarco. It’s sad that Barner looks WAY better.
Except for that fumble. My god that was scary.
Mostert wouldn’t have fumbled.

http://images.t-nation.com/forum_images/6/6/6632b-NOTHING_IS_OVER.gif
Literally, lol’d.
LOL!
That’s a sad commentary on how salaries affect playing time. Coaches swear up and down that it doesn’t, but reality shows otherwise.
Kiko Alonzo needs to be benched next
Eric Rowe just grew up in front of our eyes. Great plays down the stretch. Chip knew it was his job on the line and he stopped caring about Demarcos feelings. Best players play Chippah!
Kid balled out today, and he stepped up and helped us BIGTIME on that important Jets win early in the season to stop the losing streak..
..
For such a raw corner, you can sure see the talent
Chip just said it as i was thinking it…..Eric Rowe had himself a nice game for his first start in the league
Cooper makes not 1 but 2 PLAYS! It is a Festivus Miracle!
https://samepageteam.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/festivusmiracle.jpg
Now begins the airing of the grievances!!!!
This game made me happy!
Eric Rowe with a great game. Malcolm Jenkins was balling. I am so hoping this was the moment that brings the whole team together.
So Brady immediately after game went on the field, decided not to congratulate any of the Eagles’ players or coaches, and went into the locker room instead.
Fuck him. And Buendchen. The latter literally.
Someone should make a gif of Sammy throwing that nice TD and then Brady’s pissed-off expression.
Now we just need Agholor to step up. Great PI call to keep a drive alive though.
Jordan Matthews – 36 yards
Tom Brady – 36 yards
Blehhhh
At least Matthews had a td?
how many td catches brady have though?
None but he still outscored Matthews if you want to bring up TDs.
0 INTs for Matthews. Brady sucks.
are you threatening me master jedi
I’ll eat some major crow. I wonder how much Sproles had left and I thought this defense would get beat up enough while the offense wouldn’t do enough including some red zones struggles.
You aren’t the only one sans the way I feel about Sproles. We all thought they were losing today.
No matter what happens this season, Bradford and the 2015 Eagles delivered the midnight green against these smug Bastards led by Brady for the first time.. It’s been a horrible year, but Today we were treated to a game Everyone will always remember… Didn’t expect to be drinking Johnny Walker Blue Tonight, but I’m going to enjoy this one….Cheers
..
On one hand, every time we think it’s the win that will make us turn the corner, we Fail… But on the other hand Bradford has been playing better than given credit of since a carolina, and it was amazing to see him come back, without needing to shake Off any rust, and was able to make some big throws to lead us to our first win against Brady and be the first team in a decade to give them a 2nd loss in back to back weeks.. Can Bradford continue to build on all the improvement he been showing since Carolina? Of do we continue the one step forward, one step backwards that held us back all year?
..
To get this win, and still get to play against the skins and Giants who we are competing with for the division, is about as close to controlling our own destiny as I could have hoped for..
..
Now we got Loudmouths Rex and Shady coming to philly, if we can’t get up for that game, we don’t deserve success…
.
SAM Bradford playing well and continuing to grow in this offense is STILL the single best possible thing for this franchise. He has a great opportunity to step up, take control of this division and handle business against skins and Giants… Win those two games, and 1 of the Carfinals or Bills game and we win the division.. But that’s still a LONGSHOT in my mind with what a mess this year has been..
..
Can’t believe they gave us this win after being penalized for like 100 yards in first Quarter… This Eagle Team is impossible to get grasp on. I assume Vegas made a killing off the Eagles today
way too long
Sanchez doesn’t win that game because you knows he makes at least one bonehead play down the stretch that would have resulted in an INT or a fumble.
Under rated play of the game. When Brady went deep, I think it was the first play after the fumble. Rowe had great coverage, didn’t panic, and didn’t get a flag thrown on him. Well done.
Tremendous
Sums up this game:

and after the game Belicheck will go to his office to see what offering he needs to make this week:
http://runesoup.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/room.jpg
Two thumbs, way up 🙂
From the looks that Brady and Belicheck gave to Lafell today on the sidelines, I think he might get offered up to Beelzebub this week.
I addressed that!
…
Wow, just wow.
Great win.
And that fumble stress wouldn’t have happened if we would have kept Mostert over Barner.
Was waiting for it….well played.
Even gets in a Barner shot . . .
Cam had less INTs than Brady today.
I had a rating of 127.3 when I played the Saints D.
Lol Aints D is a punching bag. This is like their 2nd year of historically bad defenses.
How many times did the Saints put a LB on a Panthers’ WR on deep plays? I swear Ginn Jr scored 6 times today on that matchup.
Saint’s D has made EVERYONE look good this year.
You think Chip learned his lesson and will sit out free agency this year?
Biggest ‘mistake’ Chip made this FA imho, devoting big money to RB. Would have been better off signing Mathews and drafting a guy imho. Maxwell’s been better after a really rough start to the season. Not sure there’s a FA that I think could make a huge impact on this team barring a quality Defensive Coordinator 🙂
Whatever it takes to slow down the train, draft and UDFAs all day. At this point in the season the Kiko-Shady deal is looking pretty unbalanced.
Actually liked that deal, before Kiko turned out to be a complete sham.
Nope. He’s going to grab at least one WR in FA. I think he’ll learn not to reach for WRs every year though.
Agholor wasn’t a reach.
Double-down on 15 baby!
Go Colts. I hate the Steelers and their smug fans.

ATTN: GEAGLE
You mentioned enjoying a glass of Johnnie Walker Blue in the last thread in honor of the win. Might I raise a glass of Balvenie 17 in response?
Fly Eagles Fly.
Definitely a special win to be appreciated and remembered Independant of whatever happens this year….
Cheers, I go to get my Glenfiddich now 🙂
What a day, ChoTime. Improve your serve… witness an extremely rare Eagles win… take down a delicious Speyside? You are living!
Tonight, we are all the Most Interesting Men in the World.
Might i finishing my 8 pack of Guinness pint cans… Im not usually one for lack if words. That game felt REALLY good. Im happy.
Do it!
I’ll have a hibiki 17! After the kids go to bed of course. Woohoo!!!!!
How long has it been since we’ve been treated to winning side of a significant upset? Seems like forever
Still thinking……………..
Sitting Miles Austin was the clear difference
Just think if he was actually cut! I saw the new WR catch one pass, one. It was a clear improvement from Austin.
was that number 10? I was like who the F is that guy?
https://twitter.com/Astonia67/status/673624490627227648
The most shocking thing:
– Where the hell did this pass rush come from today even when they were only rushing 4 guys? Stunned by it
it’s great, brady’s line is shit, he’s been getting killed last few weeks
And it would have been a bloodbath if Brady weren’t so damn good in the pocket.
Yeah, he really helps his line up a Ton…. But Bradford has also been showing a pocket presence, feeling the pass rush the last few games that I didn’t know he had in him..
.
But yes, a normal QB would get killed behind that line
Aren’t the Pats banged up on the OL? I’ll take it, but that might have something to do with it.
Apparently Bradford went all Al Pacino, any given Sunday giving pre game speeches in the locker room.. Think we are 2-0 when Bradford goes all “This is Sparta” pregame..
*chest kicks Belichick*
Bradford looks kinda crazy with a full beard
Did you guys see what Belichick did to LaFell after the game?

That is what’s going to happen to the special teams coach!
Billy Davis just now on his post-game interview:
http://bimboscantina.com/quepasa/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/AlrightAlright.jpeg
He looked like a guy who just took a huge bong hit and was just so relaxed.
saved his job for better or worse
!@#$ it
“That’s what I love about these opponent offenses; I get older, they keep running the same plays to great effect.”
Given what a nightmare it is to get out of Foxboro back on to Route 1 after Pats’ games, I’m sure Davis is grabbing a kegger and headed with some of the guys to the parking lot.
Ha! I remember having to park on the side of the road and walk about two miles to old Foxboro. What a dump.
Yup. I went to undergrad/grad school in Boston and lived there for nearly a decade.
Getting in and out of Foxboro was & is still a nightmare and I remember have my ass so numb I wasn’t sure if I had frostbite on those old metal bleachers.
New stadium though doesn’t have nearly the character or intimidation though. I feel a lot about Gilette Stadium as I do the Linc. Nice place but lacking any real character including that ridiculous lighthouse.
Aluminum bleachers… Hugh Millen at the controls… yikes.
I didn’t see Millen. Parcells went I got to Boston.
I missed out on going to the ‘Snow Bowl’ vs Raiders because I had friends coming in from London I wanted to see.
I was already lukewarm on the Pats, hated the Celtics and Bruins, and was a Red Sox fan even if the Phils were the team I root for first.
Red Sox were still popular in a way that the Pats still can’t match though. Mystified me how nuts the city was in ’03 and ’04 in regards to the Red Sox postseason runs.
Ironic: “The British are coming!” ruined your Patriot experience.
It isn’t the building; the ticket prices did it. The high prices drove the real passionate fans out of a lot of the seats.
I feel bad for LaFell. He came back from injury recently and is now being offered to whatever pagan god Belichick worships.
I want to know exactly which pagan god that is and what Belichick feeds it.
Goodell. Ratings.
Let me offer you some advice, DO NOT google god of football.
I have to admit in many ways that Australian rules football is manlier and tougher than the NFL.
My contrarian instincts are soooo tempted right now . . . . must . . . . RESIST!!!!
Did you do it?
Not yet . . . .
LOL . . . yeah, now I did. Good thing I’m not homophobic 😛
Yeah… he must work out.
To steal a line from ‘Major League’…”there’s only one thing left to do….win the whole fucking thing!”
I wonder if Chip is using a naked cardboard cut-out of Lurie to inspire the team…
i bet it’s Howie
Cardboard cutout of Lurie in a thong only. Shudders.
Whatever it takes to inspire the team.
Not sure if the frontal or rear view would be worse.
I think “upskirt” would be the worst in this instance…
Mark Schlereth.
This thread is vacillating between amusing and horrifying 😛
That’s where I live…
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor! Hell no!
http://www.spike-town.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/animal-house-speech.2.jpg
Depends in your perspective…
Can’t believe I finally got to see the Eagles beat these smug bastards… Tears of Joy…
Super Bowl revenge
sort of
No way.
Not even close
Today was like winning 3 times at once. 1) We beat the New England Patri*ts; 2) We beat Tom Brady; and 3) We beat Darth Hoodie (aka Belichick).
The good news: The Eagles control their own destiny.
The bad news: The Eagles control their own destiny.
actually that’s wrong: if Washington wins all of its games except against Philly, they win based on the conference tiebreaker.
hahahaha . . . if Washington . . . wins all their games . . . . bwahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
You could say the same about the Eagles winning out though…. 😉
TRUTH. Why I’m rooting for the skinz to beat the cowbabies Monday regardless.
Eh… I’ll just root for the Redskins to lose. And not look at whoever the opponent is in the boxscore.
You want the Cowboys to draft higher?
Jerry’ll fuck that up 🙂 I cheer for the Cowgirls to go 0-16 every year.
that means Washington beating the Cowboys twice, the Bills, and the Bears. I’m just talking about math and hypotheticals of course. Chances are this won’t play out as expected.
Actually no, that was true. For the division title, the common opponents tiebreaker comes before the conference tiebreaker, and the Eagles would have them there. Basically, that would be the record of each team removing head-to-head (which would be 1-1 if we win out) and the Eagles games vs. the Lions (loss) and Cardinals (upcoming) and the Redskins games vs the Rams (win) and Bears (upcoming). In your scenarios, that removes two wins for the Redskins, and just one win for the Eagles, meaning the Eagles have the better record vs. common opponents. For the wildcard tiebreakers, the conference record comes first, but we won’t be getting that.
Now that I’ve had some time to calm down, I’d like to apologize for the Jerod Mayo pun run earlier. It was irresponsible and there’s no excuse for my behavior.
So, who does everyone want fired this week?
miles austin
I say we fire the fans that gave up on Chip and the team.
Season isn’t over yet. I still vote to move on from Davis.
Mitchell…
You sure this isn’t meant for Davis?
Chip Kelly, make Dave Fipp the head coach.
Belicheck. We can give him a shot at DC next year.
People are calling into WIP complaining about how the Eagles almost lost this game!
WTF your miserable a-holes!
do yourself a favor and stop listening
Best advice ever!
I think we’ve complained loudly about every win this year…
When was the last win we had where we played a complete game? Team’s had us holding our breath every win and holding our noses every loss. I try to keep an even keel, but this team has made it VERY hard this year.
Murray:
8 carries, 24 yards (19 on one play) and tons of frustrated body language.
He had his hands on his sides at least twice when the camera panned on him in the 2nd half on the sideline and wasn’t standing next to anyone.
When can we bail on his contract? I wonder if we could trade him to anyone, even the Cowboys.
Was wondering the same thing.
I mean, someone has to have some kind of interest in a former rushing champ. His base is 7 mil next year.
i was going to ask if anyone would trade him for a 7th rounder
browns maybe??
Normally ‘mountains of made out of mole hills’ in regards to players body language and facial expressions but man he looked like a man alone on a desert island today.
Not so sure on trading him to the Cowgirls though . . . he’d end up being good again, just to spite us.
Trading him would help us evade a good deal of dead money.
And Dallas would be a logical landing spot for him.
It’s one thing when former 1st rounder, Ryan Mathews looks better than you, it’s another when bottom of the roster guy, Kenjon Barner does.
Barner fumbled at the end. That was horrible.
True . . . but Barner made positive yards on almost every carry . . . when’s the last time you could say that about Murray?
but when there’s like 2 minutes left and it’s not really about getting the extra yard put the veteran in. There is only 1 rule and it’s 1-100 in that situation, and that is don’t fumble.
Not excusing it. Horrible play by Barner in a clutch situation, but there’s a reason why he’s a bottom of the roster guy.
That’s why we should have kept Mostert over Barner. He would have gained more yards on every run……….and not fumbled.
This is how I imagined you looking when he fumbled
http://powerpictures.crystalgraphics.com/photo/barking_enraged_shepherd_dog_outdoors_over_green_cg3p7316188c.jpg
Sure, if the opponent would agree to put their preseason teams on the field 😉
But, I’m sure you approve Chris Berman’s nickname: Kenjon “the horse is out of the” Barner
Same preseason teams that Barner ran worse against relative to Mostert.
And I’d more approve of taking that horse’s roster spot behind the barn and shooting it.
After next year.
Yep you are right. We would lose out on 1 million dollars if we cut him in the 2017 season.
Would love to see Kelly show some real guts and bench him.
Or just not play him like he basically did tonight
it’s a start . . .
absolutely. feel that chip really hurt the offense earlier in year by forcing Murray, because of his great last year and his contract, into the primary rb role. Great sign that Chip is now willing to change some. Earlier in year, there was still hope Murray would catch fire and return to form. Now there is no hope for him to have a great season. Sit him, let him be depth and just cut him later, take the huge cap hit, so rbs who fit the offense can play more.
As soon as we trade him to Chicago or Buffalo or Detroit.
Even his frustrated body language is slow.
Wow. The Colts may be the worst tackling team in the league. That is just plain ugly.
No, that was the Eagles vs. Tampa Bay.
how satisfying was it on the jenkins pick six, seeing brady have to be an actual football player and try to tackle someone.
He had quite the complete game. Between that, catching a pass, and his glacial scramble when he basically did a pre-season conditioning test by running from sideline to sideline in under 30 seconds…
AND FLOP !!
7-9 or bust baby! need some help from the boys though vs skins tomorrow night
Tense times at the neighbor’s watching the game!! Then I had to cheer up my 6 year old too.
PLEASE wear a Go-Pro to work tomorrow and post the video…
Your six year old made a bad bet this time. However, it is usually good to play the odds.
By cheer up, I am assuming you mean taunt mercilessly.
Eagles can lose the next 2 weeks now, win the final 2 games vs Skins/Giants, and still have a very good chance to win the NFC East.
At least it gives you some reason to watch now the final month.
Sad but oh so true.
Have you got enough tissues?!
More like, not enough alcohol or prozac.
I would like to be the first 6-10 team to win the SB.
boykin w/ a pick
Shame we’re screwed out of our 4th rounder.
Just going to post this. Too late for him to play 50% of snaps though 🙁
Oh, so now the Steelers can play Boykin…………….
Boykin sighting.
Anyone else’s audio completely messed up on this game?
Yes, if by that you mean you can hear Collinsworth loud and clear…
did anyone notice DeMarco in about the 2nd to last series, when he ran out of bounds twice. Twice. Not once, which made me go what the F DeMarco there’s only (I can’t remember, under 10 minutes left). Then he did it again like 2 plays later. That is probably a minute of game clock together.
Colts a possible trading partner? They’ve done dumber things for a rb.
Murray is our worst FA signing since Asomugha.
Has no impact on the game clock at that point, but it was still bad to see.
please explain. I thought if you stayed in bounds the game clock keeps moving.
Over 5 minutes in the game, clock doesn’t stop on out of bounds.
Didn’t see this before I commented but yes. lol
Unless in the last 5 minutes of a half, they start the clock again once the ball is placed. Rule chanced a few years ago to get more ads into a “3” hour game.
geez I missed that, or forgot. thanks.
I made the same error with a comment in game. I tried to cover it by saying I was mentally in the “under 2 minutes left” phase versus 9 minutes left… (I THINK IT WORKED! SHHH!)
Multiple people bringing it up made me take the time to actually look up the rule 😛
Thank you for being a scholar…
And yeah – seems like that rule changed without much notice. It used to not matter at all with Reid at the wheel – he’d do the wrong thing no matter what.
Scrimmage Down
Article 2Following any timeout (3-36), the game clock shall be started on a scrimmage down when the ball is
next snapped, except in the following situations:
(a) Whenever a runner goes out of bounds on a play from scrimmage, the game clock is started when
an official spots the ball at the inbounds spot, and the Referee gives the signal to start the game
clock, except that the clock will start on the snap:
(1) after a change of possession;
(2) after the two-minute warning of the first half; or
(3) inside the last five minutes of the second half.
The clock doesn’t stop on an out of bounds play unless there’s under 5 minutes left in the 1st and 2nd half even though it looked like he could’ve turned it up field on that one play.
YES YES YES!! right as the well dressed 3-pc suit excellent broadcaster, Davis ? (who he? I love the dude!!) was pointing that out!! how he was noticing that Kenjon Barber was busting forward for every last 2/3 yards ..
..
I had the game on tape delay and missed Barner’s fumble .. glad I messed that but way too bad for him!!!! dam
I saw it. It was a stark contrast to how sproles and barner were running. I would be ecstatic if Murray never plays another down for the Eagles. He’s in the way of talented guys who try harder.
i was watching the game recorded. on the first out of bounds run play, i was pausing the play every second or two, then my son and i together try to figure out what will happen with the play, where is the hole, who will make the tackle, etc. Fun times. So towards the end of the play, i say, “this is where Murray will give a stiff arm to Jones, then Jones will push him out of bounds” which is fine if that is what happened. But the stiff arm never came, and, like you say, Murray ran out of bounds with Jones maybe touching him a little. He would not have gotten far, but he avoided contact, not even a stiff arm.
Looks like we are back to chip…chip…Hooray!!!
Fool’s gold.
Perhaps, but I need SOME hope this season and next. I just hope Chip moves on from Bradford and Davis. Key word, hope. I know better than to expect it.
I can live with Bradford, not sure about Davis.
That is nice of you to offer to have him move in with you, but I bet Bradford will be able to afford an apartment even if we don’t resign him.
That would be wild if he did move in. Can you imagine? Maybe he could get me some Eagles tickets. Of course I may have to kick him out if I wake up in the middle of the night and see that creeper stare.
If he gives me Karlie Kloss’s number he can live with me anyday.
No but I thought it was foolish to fire him this offseason regardless unless he made it clear he didn’t want to come back.
The question to me is what happens with Davis.
So the Eagles only needed a pick 6, a blocked punt for a TD, and a punt return for a TD to win today.
I think during the broadcast they said that has occurred 3 times in the last 35 years? Was that correct?
to beat the Pats at home.
You mean vs the Pats at home? I wasn’t sure because it was loud at the gym.
yes at Foxboro. That happens like once a decade. It’s a big win that takes some unique plays. Enjoy it.
It worked today.
RE: Punt return. We haven’t seen teams really kick at Sproles much… opting for hang-time versus max distance. I wonder if that Belichick hubris was a factor AND/OR we were really blocking the hell out of their gunners on every punt…
Despite last week’s loss, pretty obvious the Patriots slept on Philly a bit this week.
To be fair, we are usually soft and comfortable, like a memory foam mattress…
Their fault, not ours
I thought I saw the same stat about this only taking place 3 times in NFL history, with the Eagles also being the team the previous times.
Back when we lost out on Gore and ‘settled’ on Murray, was actually excited . . . . my how things have changed :S
hey on the Brady trick play why wasn’t that illegal motion or something?
Think he was standing still when the ball was snapped… Only counts as illegal motion if 2 people are moving or 1 is moving towards the line of scrimmage at the snap of the ball.
he was still screaming left and right, jerking his head around I think. Can a RB stand up and start yelling left and right?
whatever, that just tired him out for his interception.
i was yelling .. wouldve been way way too temptng to pop him at the end of the catch .. only would’ve fired up the pats .. the INt after that exhausted trick play is a super nice face job to them
if we did that the fans like us would be all over the coach blaming the coach for that INT (whether or not warranted, the blame would be placed).
He was set and not moving. Refs ask before games if you’ve got any trick stuff planned and you describe it and they’ll give you general do’s and don’ts, and they’ll generally be lenient when it’s run.
https://twitter.com/NFL/status/673651012125589508?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
why do that trick kick off against us? Belicheat felt desperate?
clearly a trap game for pats
Yes and no. They lost the week before. Have to think they werre hyped for a win.
The Pats did have an unusual air of desperation about them tonight. I have the feeling they were saving that trick pass to Brady for a moment they felt they needed it.
I suspect they only practiced trick plays figuring they’d have an easy week.
OR
Without Gronkowski and Edelman and a shaky offensive line, they felt they might need something like that.
It is awful wasteful to blow it on us and get it on tape for playoff opponents…
They were going for the kill. Up 14-0, get ball right back and score to make it 17-0 or 21-0. Watch the Eagles fold and give up like the last couple of weeks.
I guess but awfully aggressive when you need not be.
I’m SO happy right now. I can walk the streets of New England in my Eagles gear now & (hopefully) take a lot less guff. Lord knows I’ve been getting DESTROYED all week leading up. Non stop taunting! lol :)-
Honestly I feel like I contributed to our win tonight by posting Rocky videos and Chariots of Fire in the threads earlier this week while musing about a playoff run.
If we go all the way I’m going to go ahead and take credit for starting it all.
I also deserve credit for dropping the Eagles defense and special teams in my fantasy league after picking them up 4-5 weeks ago.
I wonder if I drop Demarco Murray, if he could turn his season around too.
I dropped them this week too. Two weeks of negative points was too much. I’m dropping Murray this week.
This is a big win. Whether they can win another game remains to be seen. But I think what is more impressive about winning in NE, is that they were down 14 at one point and still came back and won. This team played desperate, and they got a W in a place that it’s not easy to do it.
it’s really hard. I think last time was Dolphins 4 years ago (regular season, may be a playoff game loss more recent). And look even without Gronk etc. they still rarely lose and never at home. This is a great win. Especially if you live on my block.
I’ve figured Bradford out. In his head before every pass, a metaphysical coin flips and depending on the outcome his pass is either going to be brilliant or horrifying.
Sometimes he forgets to flip the coin though and just checks down to the back in the flat.
Eagles win and Darren Oday resigns. What a day.
we have an against the spread pool in my neighborhood. Need to go 5-0 to win the weekly pot, which rolls over if no one does. No winner since week 5. Maybe $700 or so now. Every week I pick the Eagles b/c I always believe. My faith went aground last few weeks but I kept at it. Finally, after Thanksgiving I had seen enough. I took the Pats and went 4-1. I had the Seahawks, Bengals, Chiefs and Cards.
Oof.
better than if the Pats won in OT but didn’t cover. This would have been the type of loss where I consider not watching football for 5 years.
Here’s your Jimmy K.:
OK, so that was fun. However, I do wonder if this win will be far more enjoyable now than it will be in late April when the Eagles are too far down in the draft to select a quarterback.
What a prick….
You should have waited a couple days to enjoy the win before reading him.
i generally been a pretty big fan of Jimmy, but this is just dumb. This was a great win. It was fun to watch. No need to spew that negativity today.
true but was worth clicking on that article just to see the sad Tom Brady picture post game press conference.
I mean sure, you could look at it that way but this team needed a win desperately. What better a time that a Superbowl champ at their own stadium? Regardless I’m a firm believer there will be several qbs to pick in this draft and if the Eagles have to trade up, so be it. Even still you are never too far down in the draft to select a qb? WTH is that? So is there a stipulation that if you aren’t top 15, you can’t pick a qb? Some rule I was unaware about?
he’s mad b/c his Chip needs to be fired schtick doesn’t work for a week.
precisely
I’m not on this bandwagon for what it’s worth. Think Chip deserves at least one more season before any decision is made. Still think he has what it takes.
That’s a loser’s mentality.
well Kempski is a loser, so……
lolz . . . I actually agree with Jimmy. You’re right of course, this is a victory to savor, but Jimmy’s right too. In the big picture, this win doesn’t get us a thing. Also, to add some ice-water to Jimmy’s too far down to draft a QB, there isn’t a QB in this draft who’s worth a top 15 pick imho. Couple of guys who might develop, but there isn’t a single prospect who can carry Marriota’s or even Winston’s jock.
then we might as well lose out on purpose if that’s the attitude. If not, if you re going to try to win then this is a glorious win to have.
Had this win occurred in the 1st third of the season, I’d agree wholeheartedly. I’m not into losing on purpose, and I’m happy to see the D play better. Happy to see the special teams play better too. Offers some hope for next year. I have zero expectations for this team at this point this year. They’ve beaten it out of me with their horrible play for the 1st 2/3 of this season.
you can rationalize it though. If the team plays better (define how you want) they don’t need to fill as many holes. If the team really sucks and Chip gets fired and everyone is terrible (Bradford etc.) then picking about 6th isn’t going to save you.
Better play means less holes to fill. Unfortunately, I still think QB is the biggest one that MUST get filled. I’ve never been a Bradford fan and nothing I’ve seen has convinced me otherwise. He’s played better of late, yet I still expect every 3rd and 5 or more to be a punt. The Eagles remain abysmal on third down both on offense and defense. Those are problems that must get fixed if we ever expect to go deep in the playoffs.
We don’t have a second round pick anyway… might as well win.
Agree, while there is some potential QBs, none of them are close to last years top 2 and I even argue Carr, Bridgewater, Hundley (own personal bias) and Petty are just as good or better
I’ve been very disappointed with Jimmy K. He’s always been very snarky, which is fun when it’s aimed at other teams and when you’re winning. But now that the Eagles are losing, he’s gone from a fun read, to bitter.
Sure, I get it. The Eagles have had an awful year. But there seem to be two types of Eagles reporters. The ones who are sad and dismayed to see the Eagles lose and the one’s who revel at the opportunity to throw dirt on their graves. Jimmy quickly moved from the former category to the latter.
Being the proud owner of a prick, and a fan of Kempski’s, I am prepared to stand up for the latter but I’ll let the former stand up on his own.
You left out the words immediately before and after your snippet… where he did soften that a little (and warned you it was coming).
It was titled “10) The Debbie Downer Award: Me” and the sentence after was “(Ducks)”. Yes, he’s been a bit sour, but so were the Eagles the last two weeks.
Jimmy said some funny stuff on twitter tonight as well. I happen to disagree on him re: Chip and Bradford. But take it for what it’s worth. It’s his opinion.
Ben R is so damn good.
Patriots were 94-0 when leading by 8 in their own stadium. That ended today.

Thanks, My new favorite stat.
that is a bit crazy
So we have to root for the Cowboys tomorrow? Gross.
I am trying to view it as the Cowboys are so unthreatening that it is safe to root for them to win a game, but it is still tough.
It’s some Satanic trick.
Exciting that Reynolds was in there instead of Maragos in the Nickel. Didn’t really pay a ton of attention to him but I didn’t see any major screw ups either. Have to wait for the DGR and since this game wasn’t a complete let down, I’m assuming Tommy may have motivation to do it. Anyway, keep workin’ Reynolds. Prove ’em wrong.
I think he gave up one big play in the first half where he had his back turned and didn’t know where the ball was, but that was the only time I noticed him.
also on a screen a pass he whiffed on a tackle pretty badly
I think Tommy may have this one framed & gold plated.
Just as a reminder, this happened against arguably one the greatest QBs in the game.

That’s got me doing the “Whip and Nae nae.”
Except, well, he didn’t play thr–er, never mind…
baby steps, need to start the rebirth of his career somewhere.
Kevin Riley said that he thought Belichick got too cute starting with the onsides kick and not running Blount enough today early on and sticking with it. Hard to disagree.
Always liked the 5th quarter and Riley was more optimistic than just about all season. Credited Kelly with emphasizing Sproles today/benching Austin/minimizing Murray, the OL settling down and giving Bradford good pass protection, and the pass rush which he said was far and away the best he has seen all season when they weren’t blitzing. About the only thing we was down on Davis going way too passive sending only 2/3 guys on that drive the Pats scored to make it 35-21.
Belicheat being second guessed is just the cherry on top.
He should go to back to college
This ins 20/20 hindsight nonsense. The Patriots scored a ton of points today. They got beat because of a 99 yard interception return, a blocked punt and a punt return. Belechick’s teams are so well coached, that yu don’t normally see any one of those three things more less all three in a single game.
Let’s keep our sense of perspective here. The special teams (and one very special interception return) won the game for the Eagles.
but its been that way all season .. agree to be tempered but the win however depleted or lucky is way way mo ‘betta than 4-8 !!! we could have given up several timesbut LOVE the team for fighting FOR THEM AND FOR US !!!
we cant say we are better but we can ENJOY the win with what was in place!!
You’ve misinterpreted my comment and I’ll accept the blame for not benign clear. I’m thrilled the Eagles won. I was criticizing the second guessing of Belechick, not the Eagles Victory. Go Eagles!
Of course you’re right, but perspective can wait until tomorrow. Tonight is for celebrating.
You’re the second person to misunderstand my remarks, so surely the blame is mine.
I was criticizing some of the second guessing of Belechik’s strategy, not the Eagles. The victory was fantastic. Go Eagles!
And in better news: this is what our Eagles are schemed to do. We just haven’t executed these as much and it’s cost us a few winnable games.
No problem, bro. Your point is a good one.
There are 15 other teams that would LOVE to have won like we did. Perspective.
Yes and a misplayed questionable call cost the Seahawks the Super Bowl.

is Marcus Smith II ..number 90?? I think ieven saw him in the game and maybe even make a couple plays … he is got a dam good physicque I HOPE he is sloooooooowly coming along one day!!
He had a tackle.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!! YEAH!!!!
I’m kind of depressed we didn’t draft Martavis Bryant and/or Allen Robinson. Much more so on Robinson since I’m a big PSU fan and he was my favorite WR since OJ McDuffie. So nice to see him tear it up in the NFL – just wish it was for the Eagles.
Man that 2014 draft class was DEEP at WR.
I love the fact that, even if the Eagles don’t make the playoffs, we may have at least cost the Patriots a chance to get home field advantage or a bye in the playoffs.
doubt it.
Antonio brown is gonna take me to the fantasy championship again…amazing player
i needed 30 points from Big Ben and Martavis Bryant, i was scared….but they almost had that at halftime
i have brown and bryant and i’m too dumb to start both of them.
Prediction from random comments on another site: Patriots 53, eagles 6
It’s cool to win….. But obviously it’s like the Dallas game earlier this season. They weren’t near full strength
Kind of like our last 2 games.
Yes. I don’t get all the grief and despair on behalf of the Patriots. Everybody has injuries. Half the Eagles were walking wounded. for example.
Yes. The Patriots are hardly the only team to ever have injuries, poor dears.
No one predicted the win, even knowing the injuries the Patriots had. Don’t diminish the win by making excuses for the Patriots. The Eagles beat a team that everyone had picked to win. That’s a significant victory in any one’s book.

“Patriots rule Edelman and Gronkowski out, Amendola questionable” Come on, we have to win this game, right?
There were concerns on Bryant before the draft about maturity and immaturity in his route tree. Honestly though, if you can run the deep route as good as he can, who gives a $h*t. There is a constant threat of the deep ball where multiple defenders have to watch him. He now has like 14 tds in his first 16 starts or something crazy like that. Yes he has Brown and Big Ben for help but it doesn’t take away his ability to get deep. On any team he is pulling defenders his way, freeing up the players to other side of the play. Kind of reminds me of Devin Smith out of Ohio. Extremely proficient at the deep stuff. One of the best ever in college.
Chip doesn’t want a deep threat.
lol, yeh doesn’t need it. Agholor can be a deep threat but idk if he is even utilized that way much.
I sure would love one though. Djax’s career year under Chip is so similar to Maclin’s but you know what? We don’t need good WRs because Chip’s quantity over quality approach is doing wonders..
I’ll just leave this hear:Jeffrey is a free agent next…….
No $$
10 mill cap increase next year? Reducing/cutting Cooper, Celek, Austin will help.
i think a lot of money is going to be cleared out next year…..i just hope that doesn’t mean more overpriced FA
A bunch of guys need to be resigned before they even think of signing someone in FA. Unless Bradford signs for like 7mil a year, our cap is going to be spread pretty thin if we want to sign an elite player in FA.
Cooper, Celek and Ryans with a restructure of Sproles and Peters can net 15+ million on top of the around 25 million we will have next year.
Without cutting a single player, we will have 25 million, how is that no $$?
Everything from his age to lack of college production screamed bust with Bryant
He was playing behind Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins.
True, but Bryant just like Antonio Brown is an outlier, not the norm. So credit the Steelers WR coaches and Big Ben for developing them
Allen Robinson would’ve been really nice instead of He Whom I Am Tired of Complaining About.
I don’t think it’s too much to say that we w can uld have been atleast 7-5 if Bradford didn’t go down. I think the defense didn’t play there best because they had no faith in Sanchez.
Hell, if Parkey was fully healthy the Eagles could be 8-4.
I feel like as lucky as the Eagles were last year, they were just as unlucky this year. Couple that with losing Maclin and the turnover on offense you have a regression formula. Losing Parkey, the O-line being kinda poopy, adding Murray, etc really hit the team hard. I am really starting to think this is a 1 step back 3 steps forward type deal. I also think Chip needed this year to break free some of his precious ideals. Am I wrong to say this may be a turning point along the timeline of this team? Is this Patriot win a statement? A fulcrum from which they leverage a great legacy? Am I getting carried away? Well, absolutely. Chip and the Eagles beating a Superbowl team feels real nice right now. If the Eagles put together some momentum ending this season it’s not impossible to think they could mimic what the Panthers are doing right now. Also, the idea of going back to a 4-3 is sounds super tasty. Just not sure Davis is the answer. Too much inconsistency with above average talent on defense. If Chip gambled getting better on offense with Bradford, it’s not far fetched to think he’ll do the same with Davis.
As much as we malign Bradford for tossing the short stuff. So far this year (not sure if this is counting today’s game or not) he has 8 passes of 40+ yards already tying his career max and 32 of 20+ which is 9 less than his max for 16 games. While these numbers may not be fantastic, at least it seems, he’ improving.
good thing about bradford is he doesn’t throw picks
sure there were some crazy plays that helped. but this win is huge, because Chip showed he could still get the players to “execute”, and to play hard. But most importantly Chip showed he was willing to change things up. Gone was the swing pass to Murray!!!!!!! Gone was Murray, Murray, Murray, punt to start the game. Not to crap on Murray, maybe more to give props to Sproles and Barner (except for that fumble). and props to Chip for game planning featuring Sproles more than anybody else.
Now i have a week to enjoy the win and figure out how else Chip changed things up and figure out if Davis did anything differently. Why was the pass rush so effective? Was it letting Curry go, unleashing Curry, cus not afraid of the run much? Also, it was partly a show of change by going to Reynolds instead of Maragos, not that Reynolds did much. And it was the coaching up of Rowe, whoever gets credit there, someone is coaching him well.
Since I don’t get a chance to post this very often…
http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu267/BoogaFrito/Its%20Happening%20Chip%20Kelly%20FINAL%20eyes%20WATERMARK.gif
Whats the gameplan coach???
“Bench 2 former cowboys, win the game.”
holy, i just realized Miles was not playing, did not see him at all. So lots of credit to Chip, should have done it earlier, but at least he did it
Its even better than that. I think he was inactive. Didn’t even dress. I didnt notice until I saw a dude named Krause running around out there. Now thats a statement.
He was a healthy scratch
Jerry Jones was asked about life after Romo, and he sounded as if he regretted not having an heir to the throne by now. Dallas Morning News reported that Jones said the team planned to have Branden Weeden to build upon in the future…..LMAO…..”but that didn’t work out for us” Jones admitted. Jerry admitted to a radio station that the team needs to address adding a young QB, but doesn’t necessarily want to spend a 1st round pick on one saying “half of the first round picks don’t work, I go back to Weeden….there is a first round pick.” Cowboys have only drafted 2 QB’s since 1992, Stephen Mcgee in 2009 and Quincy Carter in 2001…..WOW. Jones also talked about the 2014 draft and mentioned that he was all for drafting Manziel to groom behind Romo, but also admitted they got a great player in Zach Martin instead and Manziel has had his well documented troubles off the field, let alone failing to impress so far on it. Something tells me Jerry still wishes they had gone with Manziel anyway, and i sort of get why because QB is so vital to the success and stability of an organization. Even though Manziel may have turned into a bad choice for the Cowboys, it’s a necessary risk that if you hit on just makes everything easier going forward. Even from an ownership standpoint, having a young QB waiting in the wings gives the fans hope and keeps their interest.
I think this little tidbit interview for Jerruh was interesting because it applies to every NFL team and especially the Eagles right now. This next draft is pretty important for Chip and the future of this organization. I think he needs to find a QB in this draft or stay committed to Bradford. personally i would like to see both drafting a kid and giving Sam a team friendly contract and develop the young guy. As of now it’s tough to see how this spring shapes out, let alone this season. Sam could end up being the guy for the next 5-7 years but i don’t see it more from a durability standpoint. The Cowboys were extremely lucky to discover Romo (UDFA). I even remember the first time i saw him play against the Seahawks in a preseason game in 06. Had a lot of moxie, and just commanded the offense well. I paid extra special attention to Dallas that year because it was also TO’s first season as a Cowboy after the messy divorce from Philly. The boys started out 3-2 before losing a Night game vs. the Giants on national television. Bledsoe got hurt in that game and Romo came in and threw a couple TD’s, at least one to TO, and put some life into the Offense and took the reins of the Franchise from then on. In the last 10 years, Romo has been called everything from an MVP to an accident waiting to happen. All i know is that the Cowboys have always been better with him, rather than without him as evidenced by this season. No Superbowls to show for it, but they are not guaranteed and i’m of the opinion that you have a better shot at one with a guy who is the “rock” that you know will be there year in and year out. I think this is where the Eagles organization needs to take a shot on a guy, even though this may not be the best year, in this draft because it is desperately needed, no more new faces leading this team every year. Also you don’t really know where this guy will come from. Could be a #1 overall like Cam Newton who i am not a fan of, but the guy is undefeated this season and had another great game today against a divisional opponent. His organization kept the faith in him by resigning him after there was some minor chatter that they might let him go since there hasn’t been a great deal of success overall. Could be a late round guy like Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees (first pick of second round i think), a middle round guy like Russel Wilson who has a terrific W-L record, not to mention a SB victory, and just signed a big deal to stay with Seattle, or as we all know the wildcard late round long shot like Tom Brady. Whoever you take and wherever you take him, i kind of get the feeling a coach or organization gets the feeling right away if he’s going to be the guy. Pete Carroll was pretty adamant about Wilson being the guy right away, even though he was a 3rd rounder. IDK if Chip feels this way about Sam after spending this season with him, but he alluded to the importance of finding “that guy” back in May. “New England,Pittsburgh, Green Bay….Tom Brady Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers. It all starts with the QB and then you have to build around that.” That is what i like to hear and what i truly believe successful teams do to stay in the hunt. So far Chip has had no luck finding that QB for this team, but i hope he gives himself another shot somewhere in this draft to find him.
I was just pondering on the qb situation myself. I believe Bradford should be resigned to a 2-3 year deal with some nice incentives built in. We have a decent idea of what he is and it seems to be getting better week by week. Having said that I am also all for drafting a qb, with the intention of sitting him for AT LEAST a year. I think 4 possibilities in the first round are Lynch, Goff, Cook and Wentz. I, nor anyone else have any idea how this draft will shake out so these four could go 1,2,3,4 or someone could fall. It’s just too important of a position and it’s tiring seeking “the guy.” As far as one of these four being better than another, it all has to do with situation and how quickly they see action. A prospect could have all the talent in the world and get dumped on. I am in favor of drafting and sitting for a year or two. In the 3rd round grab a real nice OL, hell, grab 2 of them. Fourth and fifths find some OLB/WR/DB with upside. I am so enamored with Mariota right now. Did anyone think he would have this kind of success? I wish I would have watched the Titans game today.
i didn’t think Mariota would adapt as quickly as he has…..same with Jameis. The Bucs are 6-6 and could make the playoffs. I f the draft were next week and we drafted where our record is now,IMO i would try to trade back in the first round and possibly gather a 2nd rounder and another pick (maybe a future pick), and i would draft Carson Wentz. I really like the guy, great arm and runs like a gazelle, but would have to sit a year to develop. I don’t think he is a guy you throw into the fire right away.
But then again, what the hell do i know or anyone else? it’s such a crap shoot when it comes to QB sometimes. I think Manziel should have been a 4th-5th rounder, the browns took him in the first, even traded up to get him. I thought Flacco would be a complete bust, but he’s already won a SB and i believe this could be the first year he doesn’t make the playoffs. I thought Rivers was clearly the best QB from the 04 class but the other two guys have 2 SB victories apiece and Rivers has a couple playoff wins while having a great RB in Tomlinson and a great reliable weapon in Antonio Gates. You just don’t know. You can look at this class and say “meh” but a few of them may turn out great. I like Wentz and Goff but Cook and Lynch may turn out to be starters for the next 12 years. A lot depends on the situation as well that these kids walk into.
Of the 4 you mentioned, I only really want Lynch.
If the Eagles make the playoffs (great chance if the Redskins lose) or just finish around 7-9, I wouldnt pick a QB before one of round 3 picks.
Take an OL, DB or DL/edge in the first and then go for QB, WR, OL in the third.
None of them have the arm strength? That strategy would be totally understandable. It would he nice for Chip to get a guy he can work with.
Goff reminds me too much of Mark Sanchez or Alex Smith in terms of arm talent and while QB wins in the NFL is bad, in college a good QB almost never loses.
Cook is some weird combo of Kirk Cousins and Nick Foles for me and his own team hates him.
Wentz I have no real feel for and he plays FCS football
Goff is still young. He still needs time for his body to mature before you can fully make that assessment. Who cares if Wentz plays FCS? If he has potential and you can see him make the throws, reads, etc then sign him up.
Because the FCS is a clear tier below the FBS? I wouldnt mind Wentz, but not in the 1st round.
Goff is 21, not like he is super young as plenty players just as young show better arm talent than him
Hes only 210 lbs. Im pretty sure your only criteria of being a good qb is having arm talent.
Arm talent isnt everything, but without it, you need to be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning mentally.
Not a good year for 3-4 OLBs unless you want guys like Barwin. If we keep winning we’ll be out of luck since the drop off after Tunsil/Stanley is pretty big. CBs don’t really fit the measurable for Chip but I’d take Hargreaves.
I wouldnt mind Jason Spriggs.
For edge/DL, Buckner would be great and at DB, the only one I know so far is Jalen Ramsey, but both Buckner and Ramsey should go top 10.
I havnt looked enough at prospects outside of QBs this year
I don’t feel like Buckner is worth a top 15 draft pick. I think Ramsey goes higher than Hargreaves because of his versatility. I haven’t watched Spriggs play yet but Conklin/Decker are going to be RTs in the NFL so I think they’ll be a reach.
I think Buckner is super underrated. He is better than Armstead was last year.
Upgrading DL is low on my priority list, but there is some great DLs in this next draft
Mariota makes me sad. I don’t want to root against anyone but he should be on the Eagles.
Actually Carrol didn’t feel certaint hat Wilson was ‘the one’. If you remember back, they also signed Matt Flynn for a revolting amount of money and I think they even traded for Clipboard Jesus that year too and brought in a veteran I cant remember. Flynn was supposed to be the frontrunner in that competition, but Wilson won out. And I think that is a proces all teams should learn from. QB is a crap shoot, so hard to project what will work out and what will not. So you keep taking shots, keep signing veterans, young guys with unknown upside, making trades and drafting in any round you feel like there is good value, and you just hope something sticks to the wall before ownership fires your ass. For what its worth I think this is pretty much what Chip has been doing – he tried with Vick and Foles, drafted Barkley late, traded for Bradford and signed veteran Sanchez, all guys that at least had a chance to be good here. You can argue that he should have taken more shots than that, given himself a few more tickets in the lottery – we could have taken fliers on Bridgewater and Carr for instance. But I think he has shown willingness to take shots and keep taking shots at that position, bringing in players with upside potential any way he can. I’ll be surprised if we dont draft any developmental QB in this years draft too and bring in someone else for TC too.
We need to sign Clipboard Jesus, that’s why our QBs have been trash. If only we had done it when Vick was still here.
You are completely missing the point, which is that most moves for a franchise QB will in fact fail miserably. But since there is no alternative, you have to keep trying and failing miserably until you get lucky. You can’t just stop trying to hit on guys because most of your attempts fail. Your statement is kind of cute but also asinine. Carroll, with his approach, signed Clipboard Jesus. And with that approach he eventually got lucky and identified a franchise quarterback. He had the right approach, bringing in any and everybody to compeed. And, arguably, got lucky in the end too. That is kind of important as well. Just ask the Browns.
Well at least you thought it was cute. That was a joke if it didn’t come through as such. My real thoughts are resign Bradford at a reduced number (or let him walk and play for the Browns or Texans next season) and draft one or two QBs and hope to hit that lottery ticket.
Wilson though…if Reid got him where would we be today?
Oh.. I didnt mean it as an insult! Cute things are.. cute. But honestly, I thought you were just trolling. My apologies. And yes, the stories about how Reid was ready to take RW a few spots later and the scouts wanted him earlier.. I’d just rather not think about it.
I think Bradford is a prime candidate for that weird ‘transition tag’ if he refuses to sign a team friendly deal. Nobody is going to send us high draft picks to sign him away, and if they do we will probably recoup whatever we gave up to trade for him in the first place. And I think its much less than the franchise tag..
i meant Wilson became the guy once the Seahawks came into training camp that year. I remember them signing Flynn to a pretty nice contract too, but i think the organization realized what they had pretty early on in RW and i guess the larger point i was trying to make was that i believe “franchise guys” give their teams that impression early on. There are exceptions though
Well thats true I guess. And the fact that they cut bait with Flynn even after all that money really shows it too. But I also think there are plently of exceptions where QBs have had terrible beginnings to their career, only to go on and do very well. Peyton Mannings first years were bot really that promising at all afair. Drew Brees got traded away for a reason and the bengals were more than happy to get rid of Carson Palmer. Kurt Warned had to go to the CFL to improve before returning to the NFL because nobody saw potential in him. And I think Chip was thinking of these guys, when he went after Sam Bradford. Guys with the intangibles who just hadnt put it together in the beginning of their careers. He thought he might get lucky. What he is thinking now though I have no idea.
They were signing everyone under the sun. I hope Chip does the same.
Johnny Football to the Cowboys.
RGMe to the Browns.
Kaepernick to somewhere as a backup.
Kiko Alonzo’s play makes me want to give Marcus Smith II another shot at ILB.
Is there any light at the end of the tunnel here? He looks skinny, slow, and weak. What is he supposed to be good at? (because he looks bad at everything)
he’s playing on a hurt knee right now. IDK if this is what he is now, or if it can heal in the off-season, but he is nowhere near the player he was two years ago. I really wish they would just sit him and play najee goode, because he does look bad
He was the defensive rookie of the year in 2013. He must have been good at a lot — I’d have to guess Jordan Hicks-like. He sure got an athletic interception his first game. He has basically been injured since — the question if he recovers the form he used to have, or if not having surgery will end up being the worst decision for him.
That is what folks are saying about his play this year. Why have him out there if his knee leads him to be unable to play well?
His rookie year was amazing. One diff from him that year and hicks is that nobody was going to truck stick him.
It is very frustrating. At least he is only on year 2 of a 4 year 2nd round draft pick level rookie deal.
Interviews and background stories give me the impression that he is not very bright. Maybe he will put it all together eventually?
Have to think he is gimpy. Played really well in a very small sample before being hurt.
Apparently the first time the Patriots gave up 35 straight points since 1993…
I’m watching the game on NFL GamePass… considering CK is on record saying that he’s not gonna tailor his game plan to his players unique talents, I really don’t see DeMarco Murray back next season. Either he’s injured or already burned out… just looking at him compared to Sproles and Barner, there is no way he could get the yards they did on some of those outside runs. What a disappointment he has been! I know some of it on the O-line but he’s definitely not an asset at this point. We need another Ryan Mathews… one who can stay healthy.
A sweep from the shotgun may be the worst play for Murray to run.
It is not a good play.
It doesn’t play to his strength… he looks good running between the tackles when there’s a hole but what RB doesn’t. Maybe we are stuck with another year because of his contract… the Cowboys offense played to his strengths and he’s overrated imo. He’s nothing special and he’s not earning his enormous contract.
I think he’s a very good back, but you have to use him the right way. If he’s suited to Dallas’s style of play, I’d hope we can swing a trade of him back there if we’re not going to use him properly. The real risk in the deal is gone for both teams in a trade, so I hope we can work something out.
Good back???

Who should we be more upset with? Chip or DM? Maybe because of the one game they did run from under center he had more success from shotgun. BUT he had more success. Just a very strange situation.
i blame Chip….the shifting an injuries and generally sub-par performance by the o-line doesn’t help either, but how many times can Chip call the sweep for Demarco? He has to adjust his playcalling to the personnel in the game. Demarco ran an inside zone yesterday and picked up 19 yards but i felt like that was his only carry between the tackles. Even two weeks ago against the Bucs, Demarco was averaging around 5.5 YPC, but the D was giving up big play after big play so they had to abandon the run.
Demarco hasn’t been great either, but he is useful if you play to his strengths…..he should have kept Shady if he was going to run outside this much.
A quick look at his stats will show that he has been very good for years; last year was not some kind of aberration. This year is the aberration. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14005/demarco-murray
Yeah but the opposing team will never suspect you to run it 10x a game. #chipgenius
If you cut him going into next year there is negative $5 mil loss.
If you trade him back to Dallas there is a $4 mil cap savings.
Need a trade partner or need to wait until 2017.
If you designate him a post-June 1 cut, and spread the hit over 2016 and 2017, then he is a net zero on the 2016 cap. But yes, a trade would be significant because the hit is his guaranteed 7 mil salary next year, and a trade moves that to another team.
Still feels like Chip should be able to find a better way to use him.
If we need to get rid of him, no way am I giving him the happy ending of going back to Dallas. I am trading him to somewhere cold and inconsequential.
I think his total lack of interest in trying to make it work in the scheme is what makes me the most upset. He just looks disinterested.
Such a nice win. The only negative I can come up with is the continued mistake of keeping Barner over Mostert, but I really enjoyed how the team played.
The question going forward is can they successfully beat Buffalo, Washington, and the Giants to get to 8-8 and win the division?
The Giants are toast given their schedule ( @Miami, vs. Carolina, @ Vikings, vs. us)
Washington has (vs. Dallas, @Chicago, vs. Buffalo, @ Eagles, @ Dallas)
So if the Eagles go 3-1 but lose to Arizona, that would make us 8-8, 1-1 heads up vs. Washington, 4-2 division, but 5-7 in conference.
Washington beating Dallas twice, beating Buffalo, but losing @ Bears and @Eagles, would make them 8-8, 1-1 heads up vs. us, but 7-5 in conference.
I’d hate to be 8-8 but out of the playoffs on a tertiary tie-breaker.
How is that a mistake? Mostert has 0 yards with the Ravens
0 fumbles too.
That was a good play by the defender… it was a strip fumble. I can only say he didn’t have situational awareness and was trying to get an extra yard when that was unnecessary risk.
That fumble sucked and I agree situationally it was pretty stupid. I get too that he would want to look as good as possible every time he touches the ball. Where Demarco is plenty happy to truck stick Lane Johnson’s ass and fall down at the line of scrimmage, I would much prefer the guy making yardage.
One game at a time, mate. Focus on Bills first. Not care about the other teams.
Let’s go Cowboys! Lol.
you watching the game Live was a big help.. we thank you!!!
You’re welcome.
Mike your hate for Barner is well documented but a little unwarranted at this point. Morstert has done nothing at all while Barner seizes his opportunities whenever possible. Yes the fumble sucked but other then that he played well. Gotta put hate aside and give credit where credit is due.
That fumble sucked, but I feel like we do have 3 good RB now. Just deactivate DM, and our run game might really click.
talking like this team is gonna run the table, that win yesterday was great, felt good, but this team sux, still making the same mistakes with the same ol horrible coach, if washington wins tonight I think they’ll take the division, and hey suck too, one win doesnt mean you jump on the bandwagon
Cmon dude that post is a little ridiculous. So a fan isn’t supposed to get happy and hope for the best and jump on the bandwagon after a win? That makes no sense at all. So from your point, even in an Eagles win that most fans should just still be a bunch of pessimistic assholes. That’s not how it works, if the man is happy and wants to talk like it the day after a huge win is completely acceptable and in no way should be bemoaned. Chip is still a horrible coach? I know you just started posting here not to long ago but I can’t bet that you weren’t saying those things about Chip the previous 2 years. You can stay on your pessimism bandwagon but don’t put down a fan enjoying a win the day after it happened.
I thought all eagle fans were pessimistic _ _ _ holes, including myself, but………………..I hope I have to eat crow,
Can I think we still suck, and like both your post and the OP? I am an A-hole though.
fans don’t have a bandwagon
Panther fans have been coming out of the woodwork this year, soon as they lose, if they lose, in the playoffs it’ll be “crickets”, those are the bandwagon fans Im talking about
Pessimism is easy. Cowards love easy.
Perfectly said.
Bills are probably gonna smoke us.
depends which “us” shows up
Bills are an odd team, they kind of have been for the past couple years. They have games where the defense looks dominant, but the offense can’t pick up a first down. Then the next week the offense will move the ball up and down the field but the defense turns into a sieve. They are only one game better than us, but i have to admit they have recently gotten the run game going with Shady and a lot of that has to do with the performance of their o-line, they have opened up some big holes in recent weeks that i didn’t think they were capable of. Greg Roman is a good play caller and straight play designer too
I am disappointed because it seems like the tiebreakers make my dream of being a 6-10 Super Bowl winner impossible.
That, and needing to win playoff games, but whatever.
The common opponents tiebreaker comes before the conference record tiebreaker — that gives us a chance vs. Washington. We already have a lead in that regard — one of the Washington wins was vs. the Rams, a non-common opponent, and the Eagles have lost vs. Detroit, a non-common opponent, which means the Eagles have a better record against the common opponents. The Eagles have yet to play Arizona, and Washington has yet to play the Bears, but those are the only non-common opponents left. We’d have to lose to a non-Arizona team, and Washington would have to beat Dallas twice and Buffalo, in order to even that tiebreaker up.
Of course, it all comes down to beating Washington. We have to have that game. The Giants game is about as crucial.
So how much money you guys offer me for watching all of the Eagles remaining games LIVE?!
Would you accept your weight in your favorite beer?
Sure. So that’s 216 lbs of Paulaner. Thanks!
Oh, I was thinking you were a skinny, little guy who likes cheap beer. I withdraw my offer.
LOL, too little too late now, mate.
I worked in Munich many years ago at a hotel owned by the guy who owned Paulaner. The Personalhaus where a lot of us workers lived (like a dorm) had a beer machine on the 2nd floor. 90 cents for a half liter of Paulaner. Glorious.
No f=== way! That’s awesome. I would become an alcoholic though. lol
Yeah, there were quite a few of them in that house. The funniest was when the Hausmeister was out of town. He usually restocked the machine and took out the recycling, but when he wasn’t there, the entire 2nd floor was filled with empty bottles all around the room with the beverage machine.
Ill donate 2 beers!! Meet you under ditmars station tonight
What time?! Do you know the pub called O’Hanlons?!
Here is the best I can offer: if you agree to watch the rest of the games live AND intimidate Miles Austin into quitting the team I will sign a change.org petition to have the remainder of his salary paid to you.
Is that guaranteed or will I get paid per watched game?!
Either way, it will feel less like stealing than what Miles is doing.
That’d be perfect definition of a win-win situation. Eagles win, I win, everyone win!
Maybe we should factor in some extrapolation…
Stopped reading the blogs for a while to avoid the negativity. I figured it would be safe to return after this win, but the posts are exactly the same complaints as before I stopped reading. I thought the Mostert talk was people just poking fun, but apparently some of you are fucking serious? See you in another few weeks.
It is a shame that people can’t make their comments about football here without comments like yours attacking them. Those of us who are interested in the details and trying to understand the game are not necessarily going to be whitewashing everything. Apparently to a certain mentality, this is a kind of party foul. This is by far the most positive blog about the Eagles, so if this place bothers you, whose problem is it?
We have had at least five posters come on to complain about the doubters and make passive-aggressive remarks about the people pointing out the Patriots were hobbled. There is also an odd concentration of people who want to use this place to complain about Jimmy Kempski, instead of simply responding to him on his own blog.
There really is a simple solution, just talk about football, stop complaining about “negativity”.
True, if someone makes a point and you don’t agree, make a counter-point. No need to complain about the people making the points.
If you’re implying that it is my fault that you folks are so negative, then I’ll again point out that I haven’t read the comments in two weeks. Again, the negativity is unchanged.
I don’t expect whitewashing. I’d actually love if this place was exclusively Tommy, all 22 film studies, and D3FB posts, but instead I come in to see that a loss garners posts about how Chip is the devil and the season was sunk because of a choice about a 5th RB and after a huge win there’s posts about how Chip is the devil and the season was sunk because of a choice about a 5th RB. I’m happy to see everyone’s favourite troll is posting less, but that seems to be because everyone else is just doing a more coherent job of it instead.
I come here above all other Eagles blogs because Tommy generally expresses even his negativity in a constructive and insightful way. The comment section here used to be much of the same, but it’s not anymore. Oh well. It’s what makes the comments section of almost every sports website completely unreadable. My bad for pointing that out, everyone.
I’m not saying it’s your fault, but don’t you think making the kind of posts you want to read might be more constructive? Rather than complaining about complaining?
I go to blogs like Chip Wagon and Iggles Blitz *because* I’m not the smartest person in the room and want to learn more about the sport beyond the knee-jerk, PUT IN SANCHEZ CUT BARNER nonsense. Ultimately, that means I like to lurk more than post, if for no other reason than to avoid looking like the patron saint of talking when you have nothing to say, Captain Ellipsis himself.
I hear you. Don’t forget to check in every once in awhile, though. 🙂 …
More complaints about complaining about complaining. Haven’t we been over this before?
Complaining about negativity in a Philadelphia blog is roughly akin to complaining about the existence of Betsy Ross’ House or the Liberty Bell or complaining that cheesesteaks aren’t healthy. They exist. We deal with it
Except for GEagle, who’s chain I haven’t yanked in several weeks. Wonder what happened to the poor lad… (Note comment to my own statement.)
they told us so
I was doing a little extrapolating. Coming into yesterday’s game, Marcus Smith had a 1/2 tackle game as his best. Yesterday he doubled that and had a 1 tackle game. At current rates, he should have two tackles against Buffalo, and by January 3rd, he should be a monster, racking up 16 tackles against the Gmen.
And 256 tackles against Tom Brady!
OT: can you send private messages to members here via Disqus?
Really enjoyed this win. By itself. I don’t know what it means going forward, if anything. And that’s fine.
This game felt like Angels in the outfield. Every planet aligned to make this happen. Injuries, 2 Brady ints (one returned for TD), punt return TD, punt block TD, and it was just enough to give us the rarest of gifts, a victory at Foxborough. It’s nice to have things line up our way for once. Going to savor it. Forget what it means going forward.
In celebration:
Looks like a mullet with dreads at the end is a good look for Sammy boy.
it’s a good look for everyone
I packed up and moved to the hills as hell froze over. Wow! What a win. Most gratifying win in a long long long time.
….
Pats had to pull out a yearly calendar to see the last time they lost back to back games. Eagles pulled out a weekly calendar. LOL.
….
Way to show some grit! Proved me wrong….
Darren Sproles, malcom Jenkins, Chris Maragos, Bradford, Matthews, and Ertz.
Barwin and Graham too.
Vinny Curry.
vinny freakin curry
Ryan Matthews should start doing yoga every day. Really every NFL player should. It helps immensely for preventing soft tissue injuries and we really could use a healthy matthees down the stretch. Dude could make our offense scary combined with sproles and barner. Loved seeing Murray get benched, but we do need a nursing back to go along with sproles and barner.
I used to pull my quads and hip flexors on a monthly basis and since I started doing yoga every day (only 6 months ago) I haven’t had any injuries. It’s even made me faster and more agile as my hips have opened up. It honestly baffles me that it’s not a bigger part of NFL injury prevention.
Me thinks he hasn’t passed the concussion protocol yet…
Yeah but what I mean is he seems to keep getting soft tissue injuries since he’s come into the league. Kendricks should join him
Does it improve ability to wrap up tackle? If so I am on board!
You know who should really be able to wrap up? Reynolds.
I’ll see myself out.
Good one.
While statistically the offense didn’t look good last night they certainly passed the eye test for me. We were moving the ball early but penalties were killer. Also we went up 28-14 before the offense really had a chance to do anything in the second half and after that we played careful, which included a clutch drive to tak3 the 35-14 lead. While we probably lose without the two return tds in the second half it would have given our o two extra possessions and more incentive the be aggressive. Say what you want about Bradford but he made two extremely clutch throws in the 4th quarter. The throw to Cooper where he had pressure and steeped up to throw a strike into double coverage was one of the best plays I’ve seen an eagles qb make since Nick foles’ aberrational 2013 season
What really mattered was 2 TDs in the red zone. We played ball control, although i thought we went too conservative. I would have tried to take a shot w/ someone lined up against chung. But whatever 0 turnovers by the QB. That’s what we’re looking for.
yeah the one disappointment in this game was not beating chungy for a td. how’d we let that slide?
Such an underated player. Although he’s a almost a 90 in Madden so I guess some people recognize his talent. If I remember correctly the play before Jenkins pick he had one of the quickest pressures I’ve ever seen.
he’s got exploited in coverage playing TEs — that’s the mismatch i’d like to see, but whatever we won.
There were no dropped passes. There was still spotty QB play and our 50 million dollar running back looked very bad.
It’s really sad to see Barner get more time than Ryan Matthews ever has. I hope Matthews gets more PT when healthy.
you checked his passer rating over the last three games?
Honestly not that impressive. He does seem to be progressing. That completion on 3rd down at the end of the game was HUGE.
However there were a number of crazy bad passes, many many check-downs, and generally shy QB play. A delay of game AFTER a time out…
Best thing about Sam might be that he doesn’t turn the ball over. Clearly not a gun slinger, clearly doesn’t run the offense fast. But 0 turnovers.
He is shaping up to be an Alex Smith with a bit more upside. *shrug* not the worst thing, really.
Recently he hasn’t, no. Unfortunately he isn’t getting the ball downfield. He was going downfield with the ball early in the year and turning it over. Some of those were on his receivers, but it has seemed to make him gun shy.
Carson Palmer will show us what going down field is all about in a few weeks.
I think team needs a vocal leader. I think we have good players, we just need someone with that fire that lights people up before a game. Who plays w that intensity that makes people play better week in week out.
It seems like Jenkins might be filling that role.
agree. Also like to see people get benched. Took 2,5 years for that to happen but better late than never.
did you see Vinny the C getting the team fired up pre game.. loved it!
Where’s all the ‘fire chip’ talk today?
That was all premature. Need to go to Jimmy K.’s blog for reading that kind of stuff.
I think saying he is going to be the long term answer is just as premature as calls for his head. Not saying that you are, just sayin.
I think he’s a good coach. I thik he’s not a final product, he’s got coaching lessons to learn, question is will he learn them. Seems to take him a lot to move him off a position, but hopefully that will change.
don’t worry there is always next week.
…. i still worry about Chip the GM, Chip the coach I am fine with.
While I never thought Lurie would fire Dhip after his first down year, we are a 5-7 team TODAY, it’s a little too soon to be puffing our chests out.
..
This team has shown it can have a good game here and there, but it won’t mean ANYTHNG if they don’t finally shpw that they can BUILD on a win…
..
Hopefully we ride this win to a win against the Bills… But I have to see us put together two good wins in a row before I feel hope for salvaging this season…
..
But, we,did see THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE NEEDED TO SEE, that this team showed some fight and mental toughness and Did NOT quit on Chip, so a lot of positive to take from yesterday’s win
I see us getting the beat down vs the Bills, BUT if they but together a nice win vs them, containing my joy will be… tough.
I’m done THINKING about what this team will do. It’s the most impossible Eagle team to ever get a read on. I been in this position too many times this year when I thought a win was finally going to be the turning point of our season, and we fell flat on our faces every time. I officially haven’t gotten the slightest clue what to expect from this team from one week to the Next…
..
But, if they answer all that adversity by coming together to beat the Pats and the Eagles, I can’t help jump back on the playpff bandwagon
..
The Cardinals are a legit team and Carson isnt getting the MVP consideration that he deserves, but we tend to always play Bruce Arians team Tôugh, and had Nate Allen and Boykin not gave up that Bomb for a TD to John brown on 3rd down, chip would be 2-0 against Arians cardinals. One 3rd down stop from being 2-0… Today you have to consider the Cardinals as a better team than we are, but we seem to matchup well with them, and play them tôugh, so I don’t think either team will win in a blowout. It will probably be close, and we will have our chances to win.
..
The skins scare me, the seem to play us tôugh recently and they actually Fight when RG3 isn’t the QB… However, they are a significantly differemt team when they go on the road, compared to the team they are at home. Cousins becomes a mess on the road and they haven’t won outside of Washington all season, so Hopefully we can continue that trend when they come here in two weeks.
..
no Matter if we win or Lose the next 3 games, I THNK we completely OWN the Giants and have their number. Their OL is a bigger mess than it was early in the season, And I think Eli and the Giants are scared to death of Cox, Ced, Logan. Barwin.BG.and Curry.. And if the Giants are mathematically eliminated already when they play them, with COUGHLIN being fired hanging over their head, I expect them to completely Quit like the Eagles quit in Mew York for Andys last game as Eagles coach… The Giants is the ONLY win I feel real confident about…but if Bradford plays, these are all winnable games, just depends on what Eagles team shows up
Also think we need to find the right players to be on the field. Think having Barner was a big help in the run game.
I am going to assume my 2008 stance. Disapproval until they prove it. I really felt like that 08′ team was really bad for much of the year though. Jim Johnson’s defense is what really sparked that team.
Especially after the team went down 0-14 and it looked like they couldn’t stop Brady, I saw that falling off the rails.
would you rather have won the games we were “supposed to win” , the last 3 in a row, and then lose the to the pats or take the 3 straight losses if that gives you the win over the pats?
not record wise, just emotionally
As an Eagles fans, despite the theatrics, I think we are pretty calloused to disappointment. Finally beating the jerks who stole our super bowl, in their own house, was a very nice treat. Just so rare for us to pull out big time upsets. Been a long time. No matter what happens the rest of the season, at least we have one good memory.
game 16 will be a nice memory too.
Honestly, when’s the last time we beat a time that no one said we would beat? Not just the cowboys but a real team. I think this game is more meaningful hopefully for the team.
We’ll probably remember the Pats win much longer in future years, but… it would make me feel a whole lot better about the team that we had been beating the teams we were supposed to, and we’d be well out in front in the division race. As in, we could keep improving and hit the playoffs on a roll, even with a not-great record. I suppose that could still happen but I need to see more. Granted, we were back to being the team prior to the previous two games — mental mistakes, somewhat inconsistent, but good at times and playing tight games (either giving up big leads or coming back from big deficits). We still need to be better to have a hope of doing anything in the playoffs, but the experience could all help for next year (maybe we follow the Carolina path).
3 wins.
3 wins and here’s why. Getting a win against a great but banged up team doesn’t make up for embarrassed for 11 quarters. If we won those 3 and lost yesterday, ok, we’re fine, we move on and have a great chance to win the division. Now, we don’t what the hell we have.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000596371/article/eagles-lb-owner-jeffrey-lurie-lit-a-fire-under-our-a
Really? Kind of awesome…I think…yeah sticking with awesome
Definitely good to hear Lurie stepping out of his comfort zone and all fired up and getting the guys amped up for the game.
2 things, Lurie is from Boston, so this is a big win for him and how about Brady catching a pass lol?
I thought it was real interesting that they pulled out so many odd things yesterday, that play to brady was pretty cool.
if Belichick and Kelly were to meet in the Superbowl, imagine how many quirks and gadget plays would be in that game lol.
id be too drunk to notice
i think Belichick new that Kelly knew what he was thinking (gameplan), but thought that Kelly knew he knew, so Belichick tried to do the opposite of what he thought Kelly knew and out-coached himself during the game, cause he knew Kelly knows….. literally i am just thinking about the smoke coming out of their ears gameplanning for one another lol.
seriously ha
So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.
You’re trying to trick me into giving away something. It won’t work.
It already has worked!
You can bet yesterday was one Of the most meaningful regular season wins of Lurie’s career as an owner. LURIE is friends with Bob Kraft and all the New England royalty. im sure finally beating his buddy Kraft meant a lot to LURIE
Bradford staying healthy and continuing to get comfortable in our offense, on an NFL field was always the single most important thing for this franchise, and im cautiously optimistic that he has been trending upwards since the Carolina game. His stats were nothing special yesterday, but he was pretty damn good on 3rd down and he made some great passes like the TD to Ertz, TD to Jordan, And the biggest play of the game, with all the momentum for the Patriots Startimg to pick up steam like a Giant boulder flying down hill at us during the patriot comeback, he stood tall in the pocket, didn’t flinch and delivered the crucial game winning pass to Coop… Bradford is like 5-4 as an. Eagle, beating Brady, and he played well enough to beat Cam Newton had our weapons not dropped 10 passes Bradford put in his WRs hands. Bradford should be 6-3 on a run having beat MVP Cam and undefeated Panthets, dissecting the Saints beating Drew Brees, a walk off overtime TD in Dallas, gave Sanchez a 19-3 lead against Miami, our team imploded while he was injured, then SAM comes back and leads us into Brady’s house giving us our first win against the legend of Brady. And he beat the Jets when they were undefeated….
..
While Chip was winning 20 games his first two season, the knock was that we never beat good teams, now we are having a mess of a season yet we are getting wins against some of the best teams we have beaten under chip, and it’s promising because I always thought it would take more than 1 season before Bradford really gets comfortable for us. Id LOVE to see how much more he can build on all this with an offseason of training to be a QB, instead of spending Offseasons rehabbing injury… Getting Bradford thru this year healthy was ALWAYS the MOST important thing for this Franchise. I 100% expect SAM back next year, but it be nice if he made it easier on Chip by leading this team to a strong finish to this season.
..
I can’t help to wonder how this locker room views SAM. He got injured and it seemed like the team was just deflated of all its fight and completely imploded. Does the team have zero confidence in Sanchez that they barely fought for him? We went down 14-0 yesterday, if Sanchez was our QB, I think we would have imploded.. Yet with SAM back at QB, the team shows some fight and mental toughness…
..
SAM growing into the Longterm QB of the Eagles would sure be a heckuva silver Linning for such a tumultuous season… But we aren’t there YET…
might just be coincidence, but if you bracket the 2.7 games they played awful in, that bracketed segment of games aligns perfectly with the time Bradford was out and Sanchez was in. Might say more about the lack of faith in Sanchez, but i want to think Bradford gives everyone confidence somehow.
Good win, now it’s time to shut Shady down and hang 50 points on Rex’s Bills.
Just need a win and to win 3 of the final 4. Do I think this team has a good chance to do that? No. I put them 50/50 at best but that 7-9 still might be enough to win this crappy division as long as the Eagles beat the Giants and Skins.
Hate to be a buzzkill after yesterday but since that actually happened we’re probably going to get waxed now.
Just realized the Shady connection. That guy is gonna be motivated.
he is good. no need to forget that.
chip will get it since they have to actually game plan for him.
do we have anyone like that?
Lol no. Barner would be the closest thing. Everyone has played vs Shady plenty.
As much as Kendricks has disappointed me recently I think we should spy him on Shady like we did with Cam.
I guess it’s too bad Lurie is not from Buffalo now.
it’s never too bad when someone isn’t from buffalo
it is for the eagles since the only reason he was fired up for this game was it was against NE
I guess Chip was right to be smiling in his presser on Thursday.
he knew murray was benched
imagine if someone had predicted that Brady would finish the game with a missed tackle AND a first down reception!
Talk about a spoiled bunch of bitches. They booed a tied game, left early, ripped Belichick. Wow, just wow, 4 Super Bowl wins, 6 appearances, 10-2, and we go crazy over an OT win at Dallas against a 2nd string quarterback.
http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/12/07/patriots-fans-boo-leave-early-during-eagles-game/?cid=facebook_CBS_Local_Sports
Belicheat and the cheatriots never really won anything ligitametly.
My secret Pipe Dream:……. Chip Kelly Trades Demarco Murray for Jimmy Graham, hoping the trade mutually helps chip and Pete Carroll fix what looks like personnell mistakes that don’t fit what those offenses are trying to do.. Even tho Jimmy is a Pussy
But Chip would require Jimmy G to do the same stuff here as he was in SEA. Plus you’re just burning $10m cap — he’s not playing next year (see victor cruz)
I’d trade him to CLE for josh gordon thuogh
yes sir.
I He would change EVERYTHING and take this passing game to an explosive level. AGholar would be the #2, Gordon’s ability would help free up Jordan Mathews and Sproles… And Huff would be a great #4 WR
..
Unfortunately im not sure we fell flat on our face hard enough for Chip to abandon all his charechter principles and all of the sudden value star talent enough to let Josh Gordon in his locker room.
..
taking a camp Flier on Dion Jordans talents and give the kid a chance to rehabilitate his career is the most I can see chip compromise his Charechter in the name of talent
….
Chip taking a chance on Josh Gordon would Probably be the most exciting move the Eagles have made since T.O….unfortunately I doubt he trusts Gordon’s Charechter and footbal IQ to operate a hundred miles per hour at all times in chips offense
..
I can’t see a move chip could possibly make that would excite me more than taking a flier on Josh Gordon…that kid is AMAZING! And I’m scared to death of the Cowboys or Skins acquiring him
Would be perfect suspension will be over, CLE has tons of cap room to absorb murray and they’re GM is stupid. Gordon would be amazing here. Though i don’t knwo if sam would ever throw too him. Would have to play him out of the backfield so sam would be comfortable w/ the checkdown option.
You sure Cruz isn’t an odd case ?
Its actually a pretty spot on comparison Sean. Both around the same age when the injury occurred and both with similar injuries. Cruz’s time consuming injury may be worst based on the fact that he is a WR and a lot of skills are based on his explosiveness.
That’s why it’s called a pipe Dream, as in, WONT HAPPEN…
..
Id give ANYTHING to see chip acquire Josh Gordon… I love that kid. If we could give josh Gordon to Bradford and keep him from getting suspended, for me that would be as BIGTIME as Andy getting T.O
we got cursed
Throw in Zack “LJ Smith II” Ertz.
“Chip finally benches Demarco”, and then literally no quotes from player or coaches about it. Simply showing he was used less. Oh PFT you are the trolliest of trolls.
I have been very critical of Jason Peters this year, but in all honesty that 3rd down towards the end of the game where he at the very last second possible seen the pass rusher about to obliterate Bradford and shoved him out of the way should be right up there in “Key Plays” that helped the Eagles get this win. Great awareness and quick feet to make that play. Hats off to you Big Pete, maybe (and hopefully) you do have some good football left in the tank.
Here here. Now play a few games in a row and all is forgiven.
That wasn’t a great play. That was his man. Celek chipped and released. Peters was slow to react. It’s actually concerning.
I am yet to rewatch the game so I did not realize that. If that is the case then I agree it is very concerning.
https://twitter.com/ThomasFox_IV/status/673722531820474368
Wow it looks like he totally forgot what his assignment was on that play.
Best things I took from the game.
.
#1 Easily the fact that the players haven’t quit on Chip. Nothing is more important than that.
.
2) Bradford continuing to get comfortable leading us to wins against some of the best teams we ever beat during the chip era
.
3) Fletcher cox was Dominant and Destructive yesterday and the Catalyst for a lot of the stats our front 7 players recorded yesterday
.
4) PLEASANTLY SURPRISED That Jason Peters and Lane were able to stonewall Chandler Jones and Ninkovich which is no easy accomplishment
..
5) TURNOVERS! Defense back to playng like the team that forced turnovers a as well as anyone, and Bradford continues to take care of the ball. Gotta eliminate the Barner fumble tho..
.
6) our Safeties reminded us why they were top rated safety tandem for most of this season.
.
7) Eric ROWE showed a ton of talemt, and more important mental Toughness overcoming getting dominated by MEGATRON on National TV last week to show up and have a fantastic game against Brady in a starting role. he showed good technique in coverage, continues to show good ability to strip the ball once a WR gets his hands on it, tackled well. Kid looked like he was shot out of a Cannon making that tackle short of the first down on the Pats opening drive of the second half. For a rookie CB, with so little CB experience, he showed a lot to be excited about reminding us of the player we saw in the Jets win… Also great to see Maxwell respond with a solid game. We will need those two down the stretch
.
8) FINALLY we saw flashes Of the Gamebreaking ST unit we saw last year. Fipps unit has to show up and have a Big final 4 games of the season
.
9) great to see Kendricks fly around making plays again and Kiko actually had a pretty game the first 3 quarters, today chip admitted they played him way too much, and it showed with his dip in 4th quarter play. Clearly Kiko ISNT firing on all cylnders yet, but he is starting to come on for us. If he can put the leg injuries behind him, i still have total confidence in him being one of our best young players..Like Bradford, we need Kiko to have a healthy offseason instead of rehabbing all offseason again,,
.
10) and My Favorite, CHIP FINALLY started to hold giys accountable with the benching of Austin and benching of Murray for a lot of the game
…
Unfortunately this means NOTHING if we don’t build on it this week and perform against the Bills
Also pleasantly surprised to See reynolds contribute and look like he belongs out there
.
PFF gave him the worst safety grade in the league yesterday lol.
he was bad
So now the Eagles cut Austin?
link?
Rotoworld just posted it.
YESSSS.
http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2015/12/7/9867076/miles-austin-philadelphia-eagles-wide-receiver-cut-release-cowboys-browns
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
GEAGLE must have left a horse head in Kelly’s bed to make that happen.
….he knows people in South Philly lol
is Krause good?
I just know he is fast
does he have to be to take a spot from Austin?
just a pulse will do
Showed enough to not keep Austin. Can’t have a million wide receivers. Would probably have rather cut Cooper, but Chip’s man crush is still full bore. That catch yesterday wont hurt.
Hes a legit depth WR. I wanted him as a UDFA when he came out. He’s got some deep threat ability. He’s a good and willing blocker. He’s never gonna be a featured player but can be a special teams contributor and a guy that at the end of the year has 15-200-1 stat line.
SEA cut sconces
wow! he must be tired from playing.
but seriously cut? he isn’t that bad is he?
corners are hard to find.
he’s still all exhausted from his days with Chip
Maybe his mouth got him in trouble.
Do we sign him for depth? 🙂
hahahahahaha. $7 mill guaranteed!!!! HAHAHAHAHA… so much money to buy new Sconces, i hear they are much nicer in the Northwest lol
…speaking of…. Boykin had a pick last night. Is he getting on the field now? Are we gonna get something better back?
His teammate tipped it to him
yeah I was 50% watching that game, heard his name and that was about it lol
Because of his pick we will get our 2nd rounder back next year!
No, I believe Boykin hasn’t played enough snaps even if he played all the last 4 games to move us up to a 4th rounder..so it will still be a 5th. i think he had to play 50% on the season
It seems a little more than coincidental that they just started playing him now that he couldn’t possibly play enough snaps to trigger that number. I’m left to seriously believe they didn’t play him just so they wouldn’t have to give up that 4th. Which is absolutely dumbfounding if so.
I feel cheated.
That would be pretty bad management on their part, to bench a good player for more than half a season to save one round in the draft next year. It is very coincidental timing but I have a really tough time believing any coach would make the call to bench a starter for half a season just for that. But, I guess you never know.
It seems crazy to me too. I just can’t come up with any better explanation at this point. Maybe if he were still sitting, but it’s really fishy after all these weeks of getting torched they finally put him out there & he does well.
very fishy
They gave up five passing TDs and about a gazillion yards last week against the Seahawks.
Pretty sure they just changed up the CBs because of that.
Or they thought the upside of playing him wasn’t worht losing the pick, because he didn’t look that grat in practice.
Not surprising when you add a dude at the end of training camp and he has no idea how your scheme works heading into the season.
They traded for Boykin on the eve of camp so he was there for all of training camp. Ross Cockrell who they got off of waivers after he didn’t survive the first waive of cuts in Buffalo has been playing over him so “not having time to adjust” isn’t a valid reason.
Especially since the Steelers, or any other team, are focussed on WINNING. Which means playing whoever gives the team the best chance of doing so.
Except that since it was 50% of the snaps, they could have started playing him in game 9 most likely without risking that. This was game 12.
It seems ridiculous given the poor quality of CBs they had, but sometimes a coach gets fixated that a particular player is better for his scheme. Like, to pick a random example, that Bradley Fletcher was better than Nolan Carroll despite all evidence to the contrary.
Tommy,
your next topic will hopefully be called “Down goes Austin”!?
Lol wonder how he was acting in the locker room responding to being benched…
..
As of Today, BOTHA Bradley Fletcher and Sconces are unemployed,,
..
We signed Jaylen Watkins when Nolan got hurt, instead of signing Brad Fletcher the guy who started the last two years for us lol… That says it all…
we gave ourselves a chance to win yesterday because our front 7 played up to its potential giving Brady a beating, and it was great to see our tackles Peters and Lane step up and keep Chandler Jones and Ninkovich in check, giving bradford a chance to have a clean game taking care of the ball. No surprise that we are at our best when we are forcing turnovers and SAM takes care of the ball.
..
If This Team is serious about Salvaging this season and win the division, we will need the DL and our Front 7 to carry us. It’s the strength of our roster and they need to step up and lead this team to erase the memories of last years DECEMBER Collapse.
..
No secret that Shady is going to try to rip our hearts out on Sunday. Front 7 has a chance to be a major component of the victory if they are able to shut down Shady. If he can’t get it going, you know he is going to be frustrated and lose control on the sideline.. It’s also crucial thatour Discaplined pass rush get after the QB as a cohesive unit, cut off Tyrod’s escape route and keep hiim in the pocket. The Pass rush has to do its part because they can’t give Sammy Watkins all the time in the world to carve us up… Hopefully we are able to get out to a nice lead, turn them 1 dimensional and force Tyrod to throw 40 times.
..
We have two games at home against Tyrod Taylor and Cousins, QBs who NEED the run game working to be successful. If we can shut down shady and Morris early and force Kirk Cousins and Tyrod to throw 40 plus times on the road, we give ourselves a great chance to win those two games. cousins has been a mess on the road, take away his run game and force him to beat us, and our defense should open the turnover faucet and continue to see the skins winless on the road. Take shady out of thegame, keep Tyrod in the pocket, make him throw 40 times, and im not sure those QBs can win throwing 40 plus times on the road… But we need to get back to our early season run defense for that to happen
.
cardinals is the toughest game left on our schedule. They like to go down field with their weapons, which means Palmer needs a little time for the routes to unfold, the front 7 has to capitalize and BATTER him punishing them for taking shots down field at us. Palmer ismt as Tough as Brady, so we HAVE to give Palmer a similar beating that we gave Brady… We usually play Bruce Arians tôugh, so I expect a close game decided by a mistake or two, so it’s a game where we need to be sharp across the board, we can’t have mistakes from giys like Sturgis missimg a kick, Bradford throwing a Pick, a WR dropping a key ball.. It’s going to be a close game where mistakes are magnified, but the Cardinals have an Offensive Line with Chinks in its armor that our front 7 will hopefully exploit
.
For me, the Giants game is the ONLY game I would bet on us to win simply because we OWN the Giants at the Line of scrimmage, and their OL continues to get weaker and weaker. I don’t think they have the horses to block us,and they know it, whichis why Eli’s mistakes are inevitable against us, and if they are mathematically eliminated the final game, I think we will see them quit like the Eagles quit on Andy reid when they knew it was his last game as an Eagle.
.,
So I feel confident that we will beat the Giants, but probably will need to beat the Skins, and win at least 1 out of the bills and Cardinals.. It will take a 3-1 finish if we want to contol our own destiny and GUARENTEE a division win… But at the very least, we will need to go 2-2 beating our two division rivals.
.
The Pats win didn’t solve all our problems and transform us into a playoff team, we have a lot of work ahead of us, but I like that our opponents DONT have the best Offensive lines, so it’s up to the Front 7 to step up and be the strength of this Eagles team that we know they are capable of being..
..
If Fletcher Cox plays 4 more games like he played yesterday,he gives our defense a chance to Thrive… BARWIN, Curry, BG, Kendricks DONT have all the success they had yesterday without Cox being so disruptive chasing Brady around the field..
.
ITs time for the Front 7 to step up, lead us, and secure its spot at one of the top young front 7’s in the game… Operation SHUT DOWN SHADY is first on the itinerary,
DL is great. ILBs are BAD. Have two athletes, need someone who is more cerebral to make sure people are where they are supposed to be. I’d like to see more Acho out there instead of Kiko, which i hate to say b/c i like kiko
We cut Acho when we signed Krause. Maybe we bring him back now that we’ve cut Austin.
By Acho – i meant Goode. But will be interesting to see where that roster spot goes.
Man Gian your attitude changed from before the win against the Pats lol Bills are pretty stacked on O.. Shady, Watkins, Woods, Clay n Taylor.. Weakest link Taylor.. Kill the trigger n the weapons wont be able to fire.. Their D is gonna be a tough challenge for this O though
Why wouldnt it change? Never be afraid to change your opinipn when presented with new info… Ignoring new info because you are afraid to change an opinin is blowhard behavior by definition..
..
Worried the team quit on chip, the game clearly proved that it’s not the case, therefore opinipns need to be recalibrated.. But thanks for asking.
Big picture I still have all the same concerns about chip. And I still think he will fail if he doesn’t evolve. But I don’t take regular season wins for granted, and while I domy all of the sudden view us as a top team, above post just states how we need to go about this next month to give us a chance to be successful. Will it happen? Beats me..
Shady hates contact – Eagles D needs to use every opportunity to make clean, legal hits every play on Shady in order to neutralize his effectiveness. Also, Billy D needs to spy Tyrod from the start.
Agree about Front 7 imposing their will – secondary needs to mind their coverage communication(s) and not surrender easy gains or 3rd and long conversions as well.
Special Teams need to remain focused and aggressive.
Chip, Billy D, and Pat S need to get laid if they haven’t been lately.
yeah this could be game where all the attempts and focus to strip the ball will REALLY pay off. shady holds that thing like a loaf of bread
i need some advice from y’all. in this last game, i was busy with some other stuff, so i didn’t have a chance to watch most of it.
tuned in for a bit, 0-0 … almost immediately the pats score.
ahh, i gotta get this stuff done.
come back and see 7-14. ok, at least we are on the board. way to go.
check in at half and see 14-14, way to go.
catch a little bit after halftime, dreadful drive on offense, awful punt to give the pats the ball in our territory. i should stop watching.
check in again, we’re up 28-14. what the heck? all right, i’m going to keep not watching!
check in later, we’re up 35-14. woohoo! should be enough of a cushion that i can watch and not ruin the game for my team!
pats score almost immediately. then recover onsides kick. then score again.
what the hell?
apparently, by watching this team play, i am ruining our season!
(sidenote: didn’t get to see much of the last two games, those weren’t my fault!)
Yep. You can’t watch. Tune in here we will let you know whats up.
You’re the opposite of me! Lol
just DVR it. Like miles austin, you’re part of the problem.
lol, I was watching by myself downstairs in the living room and my fiancee was doing work upstairs in the office..as soon as she came down Chandler scored the TD…then she was in the kitchen putting away a couple of dishes when the patriots recovered the onside kick and then sat down next to me to watch the game..I looked at her with a deadpan and said “if they score here you’re gonna have to go back upstairs”, they scored..she promptly went back upstairs and we won, from now on the logical, sane solution is that she stays off the couch and away from me during Eagles games.
Get ready for an undefeated december and January!
Nah. It was the way I draped my Westbrook jersey so carefully over the back of my chair.
I actually watched every patriot score and exactly none of the eagles’.
*ducks*
Aight, enjoying.
The Eagles don’t have to sign a WR to replace Austin, but if they do I’d give Chris Matthews, Super Bowl hero last year if not for a stupid play call, a look.
With Thornton injured last week and Logan having some knee swelling, I think they may add a DL.
Nice to see you’re back.
Yeah, it started out with me just being busy and consciously avoiding wasting so much time online and then was caused by my being physically depressed by the Eagles sucking so much. This win has given me new life, but we’ll see how long it lasts.
probably about 6 days
I like what I’ve read about Krause. Wonder if he can be a deep threat.
I hope they add Vandervelde!
Eagles-Cards Week 15 flexed to SNF.
that was fast
One win against an Edelman-Gronkowskiless Pats and all of a sudden we’re feeling the love.
Feel it! Glad they didnt have to be witjout brady belichek and kraft himself to do it.
Doesnt mean we are good but at least we fought for it abd didnt f it up.
Im happy we won, but the league must really not be that interesting this year.
**side note**
That much up is so bad for us.
Sucks. I’m in Europe. Those night games are horrible.
On the West Coast those night games are great!
I feel ya. Where are you exactly?
Ireland for the last and next few months
I don’t typically read the quotes or day after stuff most sites do. Kinda feel sick today, so Im slacking off at work and read them. Very nice to read that stuff today.
Kudos to Chip on the cut of Austin. That was long overdue, but I’m excited to see it done.
GM Chip strikes again!!
This wasn’t Eagles strength – it was the Patriots weakness. The Bills will teach it.
Teach what?
This
Ohhh that, ok gotcha. Thanks BB.
OK but when the Eagles lost 2 games without their starting QB (who was a #1 overall pick) was that the Eagles weakness or TB’s and DET’s strength?
Don’t read too much Jimmy K.! His negadelphian decease is contagious.
They could always add “Scones” to beef-up CB; he’s been cut by Seattle today.
I don’t want him poisoning the locker room
dear god no
scones would beef up the CB’s, but sconces would not help.
‘In Seattle’s Week 11 win over San Francisco, however, Williams was replaced in the third quarter by DeShawn Shead, and Shead has since started the past two games, playing well against Pittsburgh and Minnesota.
“I think he’s doing a fantastic job,” Carroll said of Shead after he had four passes defensed against Pittsburgh. “… There’s another guy, he steps up for the opportunity. He comes through in a big way and the guys really rally around him. He’s just one of our guys dyed in the wool of being a Seahawk. So the fact that he gets that opportunity and comes through in such a big way just speaks to the kind of player he is, the kind of kid he is, and his dedication to the game, and really*** dedication to being a great teammate too.*** He really is that.” ‘
-from Seahawks website.
It seemed apparent before that Williams wasn’t seen as a team player.
he made one great play for the eagles. he knocked down that 2 point conversion to dez in ’13 to help seal the NFC eat title in dallas.
I cannot cheer for Dallas. I know that Washington losing is best for the Eagles, but it also increases the chances of Dallas going to the playoffs (as reeeeediculous as that sounds, it remains possible). I want nothing but pain, humiliation, and suffering for Dallas.
Best I can do is root for the lolskins to lose and hope the Cowboys find a way to lose simultaneously.
How can we make that possible?
You don’t have to root for Dallas, just root for the team that plays against Washington. Job done!
Urrrgghnnnnnhhh. Not working. How does Dallas lose?
Mate, look at Dallas remaining schedule. It’s brutal, and they’re without Tony Homo. Even If they win tonight there’s literally no chance they’ll finish the season at 8-8.
Washington Lolskins
Green Bay – currently imploding
NY Jets – still can’t take them seriously, but they do seem improved
Buffalo – ok
Washington again.
Not exactly murderer’s row.
who cares about the cowboys?
root against Washington. not that it matters who you root for.
but the redskins are acting too cool now, to get beat by a crappy lifeless dallas team would be great!
Just root against the Redskins and squint so you don’t have to see exactly who they are playing against 😉
Without Romo, there is no way Dallas is making the playoffs. Plus, wins for Dallas lower their draft pick. They have been more successful about locking Jerry in a closet during the first round lately. It’s about at the point where Dallas wins actually hurt them more.
this is a good argument
11 more days
OT: I’m just sitting here wondering what Sixers brand new Chairman Jerry Colangelo is thinking while sitting courtside and watching the Sixers get run off the court in the first half. He looks a little embarrassed
I hate Dallas
Rooting for Cowboys just feels weird
Icky
I won’t do it. I don’t care what’s at stake. I want them to lose in a horrific way.
Cowboys losing ensures they get a higher draft pick they could use to add another play making WR opposite of Dez next year or a guy like Jalen Ramsey to their defensive backfield
Dallas is close to being really good as long as long as they have Romo
Root for a tie.
And we can’t beat these teams why?
We are just as bad. And division games are toss ups
Wow this game is terrible.
This is one sad game…..and now Dez is crying
They way this is going, I wonder if 3-0 will hold up?
think our change of winning the division is going way up OR maybe this is what it’s like watching ups get penalties and go 3 and out over and over.
Wow I just found out that we cut Austin.
.

Sean Lee……so good
Finally can relax and turned game on. Oh yeah, Greg Hardy. I hate the Cowboys.
How does it feel to vomit after sitting down.
Better than the feeling of cheering for the Cowboys.
Fuck Dallas.
this is almost like watching the Eagles offense play against itself
These teams actually throw it downfield though
Only to get the PI calls
Better than nothing
lol
I hate the Eagles for making me have to watch this garbage. And I hate both these teams for this blatant disregard of good football.
six hundred eighty fourth and 3 comment
uhhh yeah Tirico, he was open
i love how Dez can do whatever the hell he pleases while the ball is in the air and the refs are scared to death to throw a flag on him
Oh…. that is karmic. DJax with the big play… for the wrong team. (if that is a fumble).
Thanks DeSean!
Thanks Desean you selfish dope
I know. dallas kicks a FG and wins we are tied for first. That’s a good thing. We control our own destiny.
We did before, too, but this makes it easier.
Djax still an eagle. Respect no. 11
How is he smiling after that?
he might be down, but it may be tough to overturn though
In other news, Sixers look like they’re on their way…
on their way to….lol
I’m a Spurs fan. And not a fan of the Tankageddon.
nice, i always respected the Spurs and love their brand of basketball. I was in favor of tearing the sixers down, and even tanking a year or two….but this is too much
i endorse the hiring of Colangelo
The Sixers lost by 51 points even though the Spurs sat three of their best players. That’s like the Patriots resting Brady, Gronk, and Edelman and still beating the Eagles by six touchdowns.
I’m not a big basketball fan, but I’m actually more interested in the Sixers that I have been in years (decades really) because of the approach. It’s more interesting to watch young players improve and gel rather than retreads and bad trades for veterans, which the Sixers have done basically since the 1980s.
The product on-court should have been better this year though. It was hampered by injuries (some of which were known in the offseason), giving the team a horrid makeup — no PG, and no scoring early in the year other than Okafor. They have actually had the lead in most 4th quarters lately, but have come up stunningly small (the PGs they have had get awful in crunch time it seems). Okafor and Noel separately are good, but together don’t work yet. It’s a bad mix. They are just getting their PGs back from injury and Covington can score a bit so they should hopefully be more competitive, but it has been ugly at times.
Granted, against the good teams from the west, they are hopelessly outclassed at this point. They had a good defense at least last year but Okafor and a couple of the other new players damage that.
Sixers are injured. Just like last year they will go on a relative “run” and watch, the Lakers will have the worst record. I just smile at all these losses. If you are going to tank, freakin tank. Missing on the first pick the past two years hurts the team and the rebuild. Don’t screw it up by letting the Lakers out tank you.
I’m not suggesting the guys try to lose, just that I want them to lose.
Desean Jackson!!!!!!!!!
can def see Desean catching a bomb now to tie the game
You called it
wasn’t like it was hard….Cowboys are hopeless
So Dallas chooses to not run time off the clock, scoring quickly, and gives Washington over a minute (and with their two timeouts) to tie it. Would three runs up the middle have been better, then kick the FG with little time left?
It’s not the Eagles’ D we’re talking bout here.
Yes He should of self tackled but mcfadden doesnt seem so smart
needed to pull a Westbrook on Christmas day in Dallas
Need Diaz on this team .
Cameron or Bo?
DeSean giveth and he taketh away.
These special teams ain’t so special
Geez this game turned into the indy500 in the last 2 minutes
Cassel pick 6?
Stop
This is why Westbrook knelt at the 1.
oh boy
quit your celebrating Cowboys, still have to stop a kick return which isn’t your strong suit
Hm, have Desean take the kickoff?
It’s always turned out well before…
jaccpot boiiii
YES! The Cowboys won!
F***! The Cowboys won!
And an impressive win it was. These NFC East teams deserve each other.
Soooo tank or playoffs??
If they didn’t lay down for the Pats after losing 3 straight then I don’t them laying down at all.
Why would you tank? Ever?!
i think with this division we can do both
No you’re in playoffs you won’t get higher than 21st pick.
ohhhhhh yea, i’m an idiot
Wow, what happened at the end there? So funny the Redskins lost. Somehow in this super strange NFCE we control our own destiny.
Highly doubt we win the east buy hey.. at least the race will be exciting. 7-9 is going to win this division and come down to tie breakers. You watch. Seahawks did it and won a game. Really a joke though.
Carolina was 6-9-1 last year and won also….It will be odd if we do win the east at 7-9, our playoff game will be at home
If we play Vikings we can win.
That might have been the most comical last 90 seconds of football ever.
First Jaccpot fumbles the PR after running backwards 20 yards.
Then McFadden runs out of bounds instead of going down.
Then McFadden scores instead of going down at the 1.
Then the Cowboys give up a huge KR and have a facemask penalty tacked on.
Then they let Jaccpot get behind them and score a fast TD.
Then Lucky Whitehead gets a huge KR.
We all deserve each other here in the NFCEast.
McBadden: Two fumbles, the out of bounds and the not taking a knee at the one. He alone almost cost them the game on 4 different occasions.
I don’t see how they don’t draft Zeke
All nfc east games getting flexed for prime time. It’s crazy division is so close every year. If we beat buffalo season is way different.
Eagles and Redskins both control their own destiny.
So your saying theres a chance!?!?
