According to Sec. 2 of the NFL’s policy on PED, a player is informed of a suspension only after both the player’s “A” and “B” specimens have been tested.
Only after the test of the “B” specimen comes back positive is the player notified of his suspension.
At that point, the appeal process begins.

As a person who deals with laboratories all the time (albeit soil and groundwater media), I’m not sure what the holdup is with the B sample. The NFL has deep pockets, there should be no reason the lab needs a month to run a sample. Maybe somebody that knows more about blood analysis can chime in with a reason why the test cannot be run in a day. Edit, or urine testing as that’s what I assume they sampled.

We had very good backup OL the past few years (relative to their 3rd and 4th string competition, anyway). It made a lot of our backup RBs look like studs. Media Mike won’t admit it, but neither one of those stars in hiding has done a damn thing since.

Still the classic Eagles’ Reid game for me in terms of pass, pass, pass instead of simply running the ball.
That one. The Bengals tie. And, for me, the worst ever – the Winston Justice vs. the Giants game. Buck is ripping off 6 ypc and AR calls pass, pass, pass. He must’ve been pissed at Donovan that night. Only explanation.
Giants’ game is a good one too. I just had moved back to the Philly area from SF and remembering watching McNabb absorb a beating in that game.
He got sacked 6 times in the box score but I bet he got hit at least another dozen times and there were some real shots in there. Definitely one of McNabb’s underappreciated qualities was his durability and toughness.
One of the closest times I ever remember Didinger losing his calm, reasoned persona in the post-game and just ripping into Reid including his ‘I just don’t get it’ which is about as critical he’ll get.

Playing against guys with little chance of making the team, Rowe ended up being the guy getting targeted. That’s a nutshell of why he should be cut based on this year alone. Too bad, cause you can see the talent.

Comments: This assumes Lane Johnson is not suspended before Week 1.
I don’t think this will be the final roster but is my projection for initial cuts assuming no trades are made. Think WR, #4 TE/FB, OL, LB, and CB could be addressed with waiver claims or veteran FAs. Players that I could see conceivably moved:
Marcus Smith/Steven Means – Both are in my top 53 but could be moved to shore up other positions.
Beau Allen/Taylor Hart – All of the DTs have looked good in preseason including Vaeao and Shittu. Have to wonder how much of that is scheme related vs. talent. Again, moving one of these guys would be more about upgrading another position than the player themselves.
Eric Rowe – I do not believe he gets cut. With our relative lack of depth at the position, it probably wouldn’t be wise. It’s pretty clear he’s not a scheme fit for this D though. If you could get a better fit at CB along with a draft pick for him, it’s worth considering.
Ed Reynolds – I doubt a team would trade for him, but he’s serviceable.
Cody Parkey – 2014 Pro Bowler, chance a team would send a future 7th our way.

They could add one or they could keep a few LBs on the PS, including possibly one of those 2-year vets you’re allowed to have now. Smith/Means/Braman will fill some of the ST duties typically given to LBs.
5 WRs and 3 TEs?
Initially. Think a 4th TE is added, either a waiver claim, or a veteran FA is added before season starts or after Week 1 when vets salaries aren’t guaranteed for the year.
There is no 4th TE worth it on the roster
I am down with this roster. Can you explain why Rowe is not a scheme fit though? He is a big physical corner, doesn’t Schwartz want that for press coverage?
From what I’ve seen of Schwartz’s scheme, while he does occasionally press, fluidity and the ability to mirror the route of the receiver is a more important attribute.
Also, Rowe has regressed. He’s not attacking routes in front of him and worse, he really didn’t play the deep ball well at all against the Jets. Just didn’t look comfortable or confident at all.
Yep, it seems Schwartz still play man, but he plays off man coverage, similar to what JJ did here.
The perfect CB for that is one there is fluid and can break on the ball and tackle. Asante Samuel type CB would be perfect except for the tackling part

Tough cut. Practice squad hopefully. You could keep him over say a Dillon Gordon. But I’d have Gordon being the casualty if we added a true #4 TE.
Gordon’s my “too much upside to risk sending to practice squad” guy. He didn’t have a particularly great game against the Jets. Neither did any of the oline for that matter. Still, I’d keep him over Vaitai at this point thanks to upside and position versatility.

I saw “6 CBs” and counted based off of that. If you only listed 5 as FairOaks said then that explains things.
Yeah it’s cool now. I dropped Smith after the game and added Lane but I had forgotten to change 6 CBs until you pointed it out. Of course I’m not all that confident it’s right…
Thought Gause might have played himself into the conversation today. Really, really need LB depth.
Love the fact that Turner has caught everything. Not impressed with his speed or quicks. I would need to watch tape, but felt like he was constantly getting open on zone coverage, not beating people one on one.
I want Rowe to make the team, but for all the people harping on cutting MSII, he’s had a much better preseason than Rowe. Playing against bad QB’s and mediocre WR’s he should have dominated. Instead he was the guy they were looking to make plays on.
Really, really want the Eagles to hang onto Gordon as well. Love the athleticism and talent. If there’s a project worth hanging onto, he’s it.
How did DGB and Dillon Gordon look?
DGB had a couple of nice slant receptions. I know Dillon Gordon had one nice block on an outside run by Marshall. In general the backup OL didn’t do much in the run game.
I saw Gordon give up a sack, well, kinda. he seemed to have the guy under control, but then the RB came up and chipped the DE. that more or less just pushed the DE inside of Gordon and gave him a free run at the QB. weird play.
i still think Gordon has to handle that play, but its probably not something he was expected, or used to seeing.
From what Eskin said tonight, he thinks Johnson starts next week at RT and possible a few games before the suspension kicks in.
