More on Big V
Posted: October 15th, 2016 | Author: Tommy Lawlor | Filed under: Philadelphia Eagles | 40 Comments »Fran Duffy did us all a huge favor and finally put together some All-22 clips of Halapoulivaati Vaitai from the preseason. Those angles really help you to see just how good (or bad) an O-lineman is playing.
Shot 1 – #Eagles new RT Halapoulivaati Vaitai has heavy hands and the ability to move people in the run game. Love play he made on 2nd shot pic.twitter.com/1gdp022FHE

Shot 2 – Vaitai has light feet for a big guy and knows how to use his length. Good job handling the stunt on second play here #Eagles pic.twitter.com/dWznO7A8dS

Big V has good feet and is a natural knee-bender. Those are key elements to being a good OT, especially as a pass blocker.
The Eagles played him almost exclusively at RT this spring and summer. That also has to have helped his development.
Sunday will be a big test for him. I’m excited to see what he can do.

For the third time in four games, @cj_wentz has been named NFL Rookie of the Week!#FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/RvLHruSsVD

Things like this were a big deal a few weeks back. Now I almost expect it.
Memo to self, please remember to appreciate how special Carson Wentz is. Do not take him for granted.

Thanks for pointing this out on McCalister
http://eaglesblog.net/2016/10/getting-bigger-and-stronger/
Lets hope he hasnt used any thing from Johnson’s secret stash
Schwartz used to break his balls and call him a safety when he first got here because of how skinny he was
Wentz has 1000 yards after 4 games. Will he be the first Eagle to ever throw for 4000 yards in a season as a rookie?
I’d love to see it.
He should be. He’d probably be over 1100 if the receivers could hold on to the ball.
With zero INTs if Agholor had any heart.
Hopefully he went to see the Wizard
Didn’t he win rookie of the week again?
HPV will be up against some combo of Ziggy Hood, Preston Smith, and/or Ryan Kerrigan depending on where the TE lines up.

And while I’m on Washington’s depth chart, I swear if I see Cullen Jenkins blast Wentz because of Kecle getting beat…………………………….
Safe to say that at least in their Nickel Kerrigan will go at Vaitai, but he is playing with a broken elbow Or something, hopefully Vaitai rips his cast off and beats him over the head with it…
..
I find this hard to believe but I heard someone from the washington media claim that Trent MUrphy has been their best defender…. Can that really be possible?
I thought Kerrigan was injured, am I not remembering right?
Who you callin’ an STD?
Public service announcement: Chris Baker still owes a ligament or tendon to the football gods for his hit on Foles. He’s on the permanent “I hope they die screaming” list along with Tyson Clabo for his chop block on Graham’s knee.
Damn right you are. Baker remains in the bullseye. Go get him, Jason.
I’m still livid over that hit.
Baker shall ever live and die in the Hall of Infamy.
And the scum bag who destroyed carson palmers knee with a low hit and a late intentional twist … then we got the fukkker kimo von o,lowhitson
I can’t join you on that one. I had money bet on Cincy in that game.
The arc of the universe is long and for NFL players it bends towards CTE.
I hate that prick. He has been my Twitter moral enemy since Peters made him his bitch!
Funny hearing how much Merrill Reese hates Dan Snyder. Apparently he put the commentators box in the corner of their stadium and Merrill despises him for it
Even fans of his team don’t like him. BTW – should be at the game tomorrow and hopefully they break the curse. That last two years I went and they lost. But I have a much better feeling about them this year.
Very sad………
Former second-round pick Quentin Groves passed away at the age of 32 after suffering a heart attack.
Ugh. Way too young. Did he have a heart condition?
Had minor heart surgery pre draft.
I remembered him as a guy who never really produced in the NFL, so I looked up some info on him. Turns out he had a congenital heart condition that was diagnosed at the combine.

Glad he got 7 years of pro ball played, hopefully his wife and kids are provided for as a result.
While the season is still young, tomorrow’s game happens to be the biggest one yet.
With a win against a division rival any W is more important and sweeter.
Looking at the NFCE it seems like that the one team with the best division record (or tie breakers) will win it.
Also a loss tomorrow could negatively lead to a losing streak, with facing the undefeated Vikings at home next week.
The Eagles are the better and more talented team. It’s about time that they show it and put Kirk back to where he belongs: mediocrity.
Go birds.
Wtf? The Eagles players ride the train to washington? Never knew we ever traveled by train… They tweeted a pic from the ride showing Jordan Mathews sitting with Maragos and Nolan, while Hicks was seated with Ertz and Burton…. Looks like a luxury train.. I assume it’s some closed off rented area of the public train?

Will DGB learn to run better routes or is he a lost cause? It seems if he could be decent at that, he could be a stud w/his size.
Or can we do a mind meld for DGB with Jason Avant?
Is that his issue?
Im ready to sit one of the RBs and activate Treggs.
Yeah. Both doing it well and knowing where to go.
I was really surprised we didnt go to Matthews and Ertz more often last week
I hope the those bubble screens are cut in half tomorrow.
I think its a little early to give up on DGB as a lost cause man, he’s barely been here 2 months.
I haven’t given up. He’s got the physical tools to be a stud, but it’s the mental part of the game it seems he needs to get better at.
I’m extremely excited about his future in philly
This kid Kamara from Tennessee is nice.
So much so seemed like Alabama just took a cheap shot at him.
Well at least I know it’s not just Morelli’s crew that is bad at refereeing.
