Gameday – ARZ at PHL

Here are your inactives for today.

No Smallwood hurts the passing game. No Watkins may or may not be a big deal. I wasn’t sure if Jim Schwartz would play him over Rasul Douglas. Now we don’t have to worry about that.

Two of the guys on the FOX pregame show picked the Eagles as their lock to win. Ugh. That makes me nervous as heck.

Here we go…

_

  • scratcherk

OK guys, 2 minutes, blount or baldwin in the flex?

    • Howie Littlefinger

Roll with Blount. He’s gonna get carries maybe a TD

      • scratcherk

thats how i feel, ok thanks

  • Howie Littlefinger

Showed my daughter Dawkins hype Video. She loves him now. I have never been more proud as a parent to raise a true green eagles fan!

  • GermanEagle

    Eagles 41
    Cardinals 17

  • scratcherk

I think two guys picked eagles as their upset last week too tho on the Fox show.

  • CTbirdsguy

looking for a big game from Graham and Jernigan!

    • scratcherk

      Jimmy? Why?

      i kid i kid..

  • scratcherk

    bring the pain DL

  • scratcherk

    mills playing well

  • scratcherk

    mills SHUTTING SHIT DOWN

  • Dave

3rd play of the game, Mills with the obligatory fingers wag

    • scratcherk

he did make all three of the first plays

      • Dave

I like when. They play press.

  • scratcherk

    KENJONNNN

    • SteveH

Somewhere Media Mike is saying … that wasn’t impressive.

      • scratcherk

he did get a great block from a cardinal

  • SteveH

Damn, hard to ask for a much better start than that.

    • scratcherk

      TD?

  • scratcherk

    Wiz starting

  • SteveH

Lane Johnson on the ground first play. Not great.

  • scratcherk

so u think Doug will go for it on this 4th and 1?

    • scratcherk

      nevermind, i’ll take that

      • SteveH

He woulda gone for it, at that spot in the field.

  • scratcherk

    Ew

  • SteveH

I guess good thing there was no fumble?

  • scratcherk

    ERTZZZZ

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Ertzzz

  • scratcherk

    Branch is a good safety

  • scratcherk

    Kelce got obliterated

  • SteveH

wow, Kelce pancaked on that one. Ugly. Don’t like our pass pro so far today.

    • Dave

I watched it again in slow mo, he either tripped or got his foot stepped on

  • scratcherk

so whos the best pass protecting back in our current backfield?

  • scratcherk

    ALshon on PP!

  • scratcherk

    Dominated PP on that release

    • meteorologist

      Impressive

  • scratcherk

    Torrey caught it.

  • scratcherk

    TD!!!

  • scratcherk

    BURTTOOOJNNNN

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Yes!!!

  • SteveH

Two long 3rd down conversions and a TD pass, what a start.

  • SeanofDead

    B…E…A….UTIFAL pass!!!!

  • FairOaks

Thought he may have bobbled slightly, but still got two feet down after. Very nice pass.

    • SteveH

I think he did bobble it initially, was making me nervous.

  • scratcherk

Ok now THATS a great start

  • SteveH

Ok great start but way too much pressure getting to the QB early on. That’s the concern.

  • shah8

Hey, anyone got a working stream? Since at least thursday, streaming sites are complaining that I don’t have flash when I do?

    • CTbirdsguy
      • shah8

        Thank you so very much!

        • CTbirdsguy

no problem, the struggle is following the game with these comments and learning what happens ahead of time

          • shah8

huh, after clicking away the ads, now this one doesn’t work for me as well.

          • shah8

okay, finally got a working, clear stream. Hinky shit going on…

          • shah8

            And missed TWO TDs! Dang!

      • wallacemnw

        Thank you!!!

    • Howie Littlefinger

Using chrome browser works best imo

    • Donald Kalinowski

      Try reddit.com/r/nflstreams

  • scratcherk

I thought carson was going to get annihilated

    • scratcherk

      (palmer)

      • Howie Littlefinger

I thought it was gonna be picked.

  • scratcherk

    WOOOOOT

  • SteveH

    Sack for Grizzle!

  • Insomniac

If Bradham didn’t stop Nelson then that was an easy TD.

    • scratcherk

      that was scary

      • Insomniac

Very scary, I wouldn’t be surprised if they called the same play later.

    • FairOaks

Huge gainer for sure. Bradham was fooled a bit and just barely recovered to tackle him a little after the first down — but it would have been so much worse if he missed.

  • scratcherk

    DAMMMMM D.

  • scratcherk

wheres media mike? WHER E IS HE

  • SteveH

lol, is Mike mad or happy right now? Maybe both in equal measure?

    • Insomniac

      Furious.

  • scratcherk

    ran out of gas tho

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Barner burner

  • Dragon_Eagle

Barner is awesome!! A lot of that was him. Great PR.

  • scratcherk

doug does a good job getting the team in third and manageable more often than not

  • ChoTime

Im here, damn missed the td

    • scratcherk

came in time for this one

      • ChoTime

not yet, i must be a minute or two behind. oh, there it is. to the overpaid zach ertz!

        • scratcherk

          this is his year!

    • FairOaks

This one or the first one? 😉

  • scratcherk

    YESSSSSS

  • SteveH

Hot damn the Cards were not ready for us today.

  • scratcherk

    double points on fantasy!

  • Dragon_Eagle

Don’t let up. Bury these guys.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    TE touchdown week

  • Insomniac

Arians getting punched in the face today. I like it.

    • Howie Littlefinger

I will really enjoy his PC if this continues

  • SeanofDead

Wow…if RZ conversion come through like it has today and the recently upgraded Special Teams….shit just got real

  • jshort

    dilly dilly!

  • nicolajNN

Only a couple of YAC though

  • Insomniac

Food for thought if the guy defending Ertz trips up, does that count as a pseudo tackle broken?

    • scratcherk

      jedi mind tricks

    • ChoTime

no, he tackled him for a TD

  • scratcherk

    i love that fat man

  • SeanofDead

    Jesus Jernigan!!!

  • ChoTime

foles is sitting there thinking, okay only 5 more to go Carson

  • scratcherk

    FUCK THAT WAS A PICK

  • scratcherk

    right in the hands

  • kajomo

Remember when everyone was down on Ertz because he’s not a great blocker and isn’t physical after the catch? Those same things are true and it doesn’t matter. He’s a pro bowl TE. Players can have weaknesses as long as they are great at their strengths.

    • Allen3000

As I said before, I’ll gladly eat my crow on Ertz. The talent has always been there. He’s flashed big time potential in the past. The lingering question has always been; “can he sustain the productivity?” And until this season (knock on wood), he really hasn’t. He’s gone through significant stretches of the season where he’s milk carton status.

    • FairOaks

I like him a lot, and am now accepting he won’t be a great after-contact guy — he is a great receiver.

To be fair, he has started slow on the receiving end, and got better as the season has gone on — this year is different. Also, he was an atrocious blocker, not simply “not great”, but again that has changed this year — he has gotten to “not great” and can do the job a lot of the time.

Jordan Reed for the Redskins is also a pretty bad blocker, and Ertz right now is probably around that level.

  • scratcherk

3 three and outs!!! LETS GO

  • Allen3000

Arizona is decimated, but the Eagles look like a complete team today.

I love how some of the role guys like Burton, Clement, and even Barner are making plays. Keep this going!

  • scratcherk

    Barner for the TD here

  • scratcherk

    fuck. roughing/

  • scratcherk

    re kick?

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Good call Doug.

  • scratcherk

    good decision dougie

  • scratcherk

    it was momah!

  • scratcherk

    damn good roll

  • ChoTime

i ran into a cards fan at the grocery store 10 minutes ago. he pretty much considered this a loss

    • scratcherk

      was it bruce?

      • ChoTime

it was the guy who has to cover ERTz

  • ChoTime

i wonder if that was a game-saving roll on that punt.

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YEA

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Torrey

  • Spooonius

    finally!!!

  • FairOaks

Deep pass now working too. That was what we envisioned when we signed Smith.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Save some for the rest of the season, please 🙂

  • SeanofDead

    Great protection there

    • Insomniac

      They had no chance.

    • ChoTime

Wentz noticed they were only rushing 3 and then called a long pass

      • FairOaks

        They rushed 4

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YEAAAAA

  • ChoTime

wow! firing on all cylinders today! maybe we go above the radar

  • SeanofDead

The best 15 minutes I have seen from all 3 aspects of the game in quite some time.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Caption Obvious. However, it is awesome having a young franchise QB again. Worth every penny and more we gave up to get Carson Wentz.

  • Allen3000

21 points in the first quarter. That’s gotta be the first time that’s happened in a long while. Also, the most dominating quarter in the Dougie P era.

  • scratcherk

on pace of 84 points…. that should do it.

  • shah8

And the stream of course loses it right when Torrey Smith finally catches on. I did get to see the baseball after.

Arizona looks like shit today. Terrible to see such a proud team be so humbly bad.

    • SteveH

I think it’s pretty awesome really, as an Eagles fan.

    • scratcherk

      still hate Doug P’s offense?

      • shah8

        Eh, yes, I still do.

This game though isn’t really a great way to see that Wentz is good. That TD was basically a blown coverage.

What we’ve been seeing this year is an impressive OL, and that’s been making everyone else on O look good.

        • scratcherk

          :rolls eyes:

        • shah8

Again, legit won’t be surprised if the Eagles go deep this year.

  • ChoTime

the cards announcers said the cards d called Wentz a “bigger russel wilson”. pretty high praise.

  • Insomniac

As much as I want to further humiliate Arians, they should just get on the bus at half time so no one else gets hurt.

    • ChoTime

uh… you have watched this team this year right?

      • Insomniac

        but but today’s different!!

      • Howie Littlefinger

I said the same thing to wifey.

They need to close a team out before I can trust them.

    • FairOaks

If our defense doesn’t have to play the 4th quarter, sounds good to me. Giants scored 24 there, so maybe we should get the lead at least that big before then

  • scratcherk

their first first down, courtesy of refs

  • scratcherk

    Another dropped pick…

  • FairOaks

Seemed like the long snaps on the last two extra points were a bit wide — holder had to reach for it a bit, but got it down.

  • SeanofDead

    Palmer floating ducks out there

  • Dragon_Eagle

Robinson caught the Torrey Smith virus.

    • scratcherk

at least he took it from torrey

  • Spooonius

Robinson could have played receiver for us last year.

  • ChoTime

    athletic play by robinson

  • shah8

The Eagles in the trenches are Super Bowl level.

    • ChoTime

      in general, or today?

      • shah8

        in general.

    • GermanEagle

      Carson >>> Webb.

      • shah8

        Well, I guess…

Joe Webb can still throw rainbows with the likes of Wilson, while Wentz is only accurate with low arc throws to the middle of the field.

        • shah8

I mean, in general, Wentz’ reliability on throws outside the number is definitely an issue, and the bad/few rainbow throws as well.

          • shah8

And that pressure up the middle is why Jameis Winston is better, despite the often horrific accuracy…

        • GermanEagle

          THink again…

  • Dragon_Eagle

Hold ’em to 3 please. Give them no life.

  • scratcherk

    good throw and catch.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Boooo

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Answer them, Mr. Wentz.

  • shah8

    Secondary isn’t very good, though

    • ChoTime

it must feel awful to have to cover someone with world class speed, when you have ordinary ability

    • jshort

They were up to that point.

    • scratcherk

as i remember, you didnt think wentz was very good either.

  • ChoTime

No one’s ever as good as they look, or as bad as they look.

In other words, the eye test sux 🙂

    • meteorologist

The eye test worked on Barner. If only the Eagles had used it years ago 😉

      • ChoTime

don’t you know, the Eagles read internet forums, and were unduly influenced by MM’s pessimism

  • Howie Littlefinger

Looks like another superstar being “covered”by Mills today

  • SeanofDead

Fyi…that’s a new career high in td’s for Wentz

    • Howie Littlefinger

      All in one quarter too

  • Dragon_Eagle

Phil Dawson??!!! Isn’t he the only guy in the league older than Carson Palmer?

  • jshort

D-line not so spectacular without Cox.

    • shah8

      did he start the game?

      • jshort

        Was having some word fun.

  • ChoTime

    dez bryant has no charisma

  • scratcherk

    surprisingly good burst from barner

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Nice hurdle

  • Checkdown Charlie

    BS

  • scratcherk

    big balls doug?

  • meteorologist

    Another 4th and 1 punt???

    • scratcherk

      hes losing his moxie

  • anon

    fucking deep balls

    • ChoTime

well, wentz knows what he has to work on. That miss to Ertz wasn’t easy, but the guy was way open, and he should have gotten him the ball.

  • ChoTime

2 bad misses in a row

  • ChoTime

media mike’s going to be pissed

  • scratcherk

    thats a ridiculous fucking penalty

    • FairOaks

Palmer went down a little easy, but Barnett was still putting some force into that long after the ball was gone. Should have just let go. Initial hit was fine, but the continued tackle was bad.

  • kajomo

Watching a guy like Barber walk off the street and be productive makes me feel even worse about pumphrey. He’s totally going to be the Bryan Smith (remember him?) of RBs. Everything said don’t draft him, but the eagles outsmarted themselves.

    • scratcherk

sucks but overall good draft so far

      • kajomo

I wasn’t a fan of his pre-draft, but I’m still not excited about Barnett. Looks like the 7-8 sack guy I thought he was. Not a special guy. I’ll keep waiting for him him to prove me wrong

        • scratcherk

time will tell, but not bad so far.

        • daveH

But considering he is playing as a rookie is already ahead of several previous 1st rounders

        • ChoTime

7 sacks a season is fine

          • kajomo

Not what you expect from a top 15 pick.

          • ChoTime

it should be, though, if you looked at reality…. just saying

    • Dave

      Barner too

    • FairOaks

Barner was with the Eagles for three full seasons — including all of last year — and with the Panthers a year before that. So he is far more mature, and has a full season in Pederson’s offense. Not fair to compare Pumphrey.

Granted, unless he was injured this preseason, I have basically no hope for Pumphrey anymore, so I think you’re right. Better to take those fliers in the 5th round than the 3rd (like Smith, and Te’o-Neisham).

  • Dave

    Kenjon Barner > Corey Clement

    • SeanofDead

Kenjon Barner > Clement + Pumphrey

  • scratcherk

    CURRRRYYYYY

  • daveH

    Brandon Marshall being carted off

    • scratcherk

      WR or LB?

      • daveH

Gints WR ..beautiful near 1 hand catch but was OB.. Hurt ankle. Shoe is off, and on the cart

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Big sack

  • scratcherk

    happy for curry

  • scratcherk

    kendricks left hanging.

    • SteveH

      That was hilarious.

  • SeanofDead

Ya look like they are done punting to Barner

  • Insomniac

Media Mike is probably having a bad day today

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Time to go get 7

  • shah8

Man, if the Jacksonville Jaguars had gotten Kaepernick in the offseason, they’d be a legit contender.

Bortles is holding back what seems to be a team with a legit D.

  • scratcherk

    great fake…

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Got me

  • scratcherk

    temples own playing well.

  • Dave

This is the 4th time in 5 weeks Alshon is being covered by an All-Pro CB.

    • scratcherk

they cant keep it up can they? how many more allpros are there?

      • Dave

At least 2 more with the Giants and Skins still to play again.

        • scratcherk

norman out for the redskins game

    • meteorologist

Not all of them shadowed him, surely

      • Dave

        Most did.

    • scratcherk

      carolina certainly has no all-pros.

      • Dave

        They’ve got Kurt Coleman though

        • scratcherk

they consider him their best secondary player

          • Dave

He almost made the Pro Bowl in 2016.

  • ChoTime

damn than shoestring tackle. saved wentz from the big hit coming up tho

    • FairOaks

Could he not have slid after the first down? Or was the hit coming at the line?

      • Dragon_Eagle

The Jason Peters chest bump after he ran it in for the TD.

      • ChoTime

i think he was goig to have to go through someone to get the 1st

        • FairOaks

Went back and looked — yeah, #41 was coming in fast. Wentz would have needed to deke him.

  • ChoTime

the cards are really scared of the pass rush

    • ChoTime

they’re playing it wrong. they should be doing quick passes, not runs

  • Crus57

So far this season my most used phrase has been “THROW IT… oh, ok. That works too.” when Wentz runs.

    • SteveH

Wentz does give me palpitations sometimes when he stands tall in the pocket for so long before he takes off.

  • scratcherk

carson saying i dove head first guys. smart guy

  • scratcherk

    a screen that worked!!!

  • scratcherk

    facemask

  • T_S_O_P

Just joining, after an evening at friends where we were invited for dinner. Luckily they didn’t mind me burying my head in my phone when the game started.

    • scratcherk

      early dinner?

      • T_S_O_P

        Not in the UK

  • scratcherk

    marcus johnson sighting

  • xeynon

Wentz’s touch on the short passes seems to be improving. Exciting to see.

    • ChoTime

he’s had 2 very competent ones just this game. it is good

  • shah8

arizona d starting to get a step slow.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    That’s a pick.

    • daveH

By whom ? I can’t see the game. .watching thru the comments

  • scratcherk

    ugh, thats an INT

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Int

  • xeynon

Two bad decisions in a row.

  • ChoTime

arizona seems to be trying to make wentz win this game. so far, he’s answered the call. key will be avoiding the big mistake.

    • scratcherk

      you are prophetic sir.

      • ChoTime

        damn it!

    • SteveH

The jinx is strong with this one.

  • Allen3000

    Getting sloppy.

  • shah8

    That was inexcuseable.

    • xeynon

Looks to me like Wentz is feeling himself a little too much and getting cocky. Hopefully this reins him back in.

  • wallacemnw

Two terrible throws in a row.

    • scratcherk

i think the first one was a miscommunication with him and torrey, expecting an out? dunno

  • ChoTime

okay, gonna make lunch and there will probably be a magic time, while I’m gone, when the eagles will be good again.

  • scratcherk

    lucky there.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Scared the crap out of me, Rasul.

  • scratcherk

    good tip tho

    • meteorologist

Got it at the highest point

  • Ark87

Bleck, feels like the same story as usual, bully a team then let them stick around instead of putting them away. Hold onto your butts

    • wallacemnw

Exactly how I feel. Especially the Bleck.

  • xeynon

    Rasul WTF are you doing?

    • FairOaks

Looks like he thought he had a bead on the ball but it was a bit higher than he thought. Managed to get a finger on it luckily.

  • scratcherk

could have been an INT if he kept running

  • scratcherk

    please shank this.

    • scratcherk

      or ill take a block

  • xeynon

Watching our D give up yardage to give them a FG attempt is so frustrating.

  • FairOaks

Little bit of clock mismanagement there. No reason to try and save the timeout there; there were only going to be a few seconds left anyways.

  • xeynon

Snap wasn’t the problem there. That was just a straight blocked FG.

  • scratcherk

should we be rooting for the Giants to win now to worsen their draft spot? or too early?

    • SteveH

They’re toast, they can win this one,.

    • FairOaks

      Not too early

    • xeynon

      Doesn’t matter. The Giants won’t be better than 8-8 this season. They’re a non-factor.

  • SteveH

Patrick Robinson having a game today.

    • Ark87

Having a nice season. Performing way above expectations

      • Dave

Yup, I think playing in the slot helped with his confidence now that he has been playing I side and out.

      • xeynon

I don’t think he’s a bad player, he’s just been miscast with previous teams. He’s not a #1 or #2 corner but is fine as a slot guy.

  • shah8

One of the things this year has suprised me with is the continued effectiveness of Tyrod Taylor.

    • xeynon

Interesting “what if” in Eagles history – what happens if Chip signs Tyrod Taylor instead of making the Bradford trade?

  • xeynon

That wasn’t a great 2nd quarter but we’re still up two TDs and get the ball first after halftime. Would love to see a long drive for a TD here – it would be nice to win a laugher for a change.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Jets 3 – Browns 0 at the half. Reply if you care.

    • xeynon

That game is a top contender to be this year’s Toilet Bowl (worst game of the entire season).

      • Dragon_Eagle

49ers 6 – Colts 6, might beat that one. Jets have 2 inexplicable wins.

    • SteveH

I care. I love extreme incompetence.

    • Someguy77

Game highlights at the half weren’t even reviewed. I doubt there were any.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    What? Lane Johnson is out?

  • scratcherk

    Lane Johnson out??????1

  • xeynon

Blount doesn’t have great top end speed but he is unusually shifty for a big back.

  • scratcherk

    some heat on that.

  • scratcherk

    there u go Nelly

  • Dragon_Eagle

Way to come back, shake it off, and make the play, Aghs.

  • T_S_O_P

    Made up for it

  • scratcherk

some freaking heat on that too

  • scratcherk

had room to run if he hadnt slipped

  • T_S_O_P

As a late joiner, what have we been doing at LG? See Wiz is in at the moment.

    • meteorologist

Rotation as usual. I read that in the first half the 3 TD drives were Wiz. And the 2 drives the Eagles didn’t pass the 50… were Warmack

  • scratcherk

    YAC

  • Checkdown Charlie

    YAC

  • scratcherk

look at the respect hte corner gives on ertz.

  • xeynon

    Zach YAC!

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Head injury for Lane

    • scratcherk

      sucks

  • xeynon

Good commitment to the running game on this drive.

  • scratcherk

    had him.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Looked like it slipped.

    • xeynon

Either that or Carson is showing us his McNabb impression. They did say the ball is slick. Would rather it slip up and go low in the dirt than high where a defender can get it.

  • scratcherk

    Jake the Make

  • T_S_O_P

Looked like he didn’t move his feet. Ankle?

    • SteveH

Hard to say. He doesn’t usually miss low.

  • Someguy77

Eagles haven’t missed Sturgis one bit.

  • meteorologist

Ertz feeling confident now. Even a bit cocky?

    • xeynon

Ertz is good. Like top 5 TE in the league good. He should be confident.

  • T_S_O_P

Back on the rum. 3 and zip on rum and 0 and 1 on beer

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Graham taking over.

  • daveH

Just saw that TD baseball celebration thing .. embarrassing. . WTF, Are the Phils in the playoffs ?? Too many players inbolved in that

  • scratcherk

    Burner Barner Back

  • Dragon_Eagle

That was really dangerous. Kenyon. You gotta come up and fair catch that.

    • Crus57

looked like he gave a good shout to get the other players clear though, so that’s something

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Another long drive and points

  • T_S_O_P

The Giants aren’t a good team, and with the egos in that team, it could get real ugly.

  • Ark87

Appreciate the blocker gtfo when that ball bounced back, good awareness. One of the little things that adds up to Fipp having his shit together

  • scratcherk

    had room to step up

    • scratcherk

      lots of room

  • Dragon_Eagle

F it. Bomb to T Smith. Make it work.

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Or Ags. That’s acceptable, too.

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YEA

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Agssss

  • scratcherk

    YESSSS

  • SeanofDead

    Da fuk?!?!?!?!?

  • scratcherk

    THERES YOUR DEEP BALL

    • wallacemnw

Hey man, I think you were right about the first of those two bad throws in 1st half. Miscom. Wentz looks really good here.

  • T_S_O_P

    Boom boom boom

  • SteveH

YEAH BOI WHO SAYS THAT WENTZ CANT THROW DEEP

  • T_S_O_P

    Fingertips

  • shah8

Oh HO! A good rainbow THROW!

    • shah8

Lots of roses and chocolate for all of the effective blitz pickups, too!

  • Insomniac

    DAYUMMM AGS

  • ChoTime

just saw the long bomb. Nice one, boyz!

  • SteveH

    Agholor says GET OFF ME

  • anon

    AGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • xeynon

    Dagger!

I can’t wait to see what the “air yards” knuckleheads have to say about Wentz after this game.

    • Dave

That was a 7 man blitz too

    • ChoTime

that he’s getting better at it?

      • xeynon

There are people who claim he can’t throw deep at all, as opposed to just needing to make a few minor adjustments to get more accurate. That was always stupid, and those are the people I’m talking about.

        • ChoTime

          that’s a strawman..

          • xeynon

Nah, I have actually heard it.

I agreed with the critics who said he needed to improve his mechanics and accuracy on the deep ball which is why the more extreme and dumb hot take version stuck in my mind.

          • ChoTime

okay, but focusig on a some single whacko is not being fair to the position that it is currently a weakness

  • Crus57

Would never think after last season I would be happy we traded Matthews and kept Agholor, but here we are. Kudos to Ags for turning his career around!

  • T_S_O_P

    Ridiculous, third and nineteen

    • Crus57

refreshing to be on the other end of that kind of BS isn’t it?

    • meteorologist

Saw we were 7/10 on third down at that point and thought it myself “well that’s coming down a bit here”..

  • SeanofDead

New career high in rec yards for Agholor

  • Ark87

You know when your kid gets a hold of your controller in street fighter? That’s Nelson Agholor in the open field. Don’t know if he knew what he was doing but it worked

    • SeanofDead

      HARREYUKEN!!!!!

      • Ark87

Stiff arm spin stiff arm juke highstep

        • scratcherk

          SHOREYUKEN

          • SeanofDead

quick google search confirms this…I was aalways more of a Mortal Kombat fan…I would destroy fools with Melina & Kitana

  • Dave

As much as I’ve ragged on Ags, the pure joy he showed falling backwards in the end zone was awesome.

    • ChoTime

that was me scoring my first and only TD ever

  • SteveH

That was a tough throw too, had to reset fast and let it rip.

  • SteveH

So Wentz on the money on 2 bombs today, when the deep ball is working this offense look tough to stop.

    • meteorologist

Been waiting a while for a good offense again

      • scratcherk

        took a good QB

    • xeynon

He’s hitting on both the bombs and the touch passes. With those two things in his arsenal he’s a complete quarterback physically and just needs more experience.

    • ChoTime

I think the cards’ strategy was to dare wentz to beat them, and he’s doing it.

  • Dragon_Eagle

Ya know what? I hate the Cardinals, smug Arians and his beret. Pile on, Doug, pile on.

    • SteveH

One more TD. Lets do it.

  • shah8

Even if I thought this game is out of hand, looking at the rest of the scores, it looks like all the games are terrible. Maaaaaybe Buffalo and Cinci might be watchable…

    • Dragon_Eagle

Keep an eye on Panthers-Lions. Stafford is good at the comeback.

      • shah8

        *snort*

        • shah8

Maybe, and these comebacks don’t happen against good teams, usually.

  • Dave

8 for 11 on third down. Impressive.

  • SteveH

PFF gonna give Wentz a 60 this week.

“Wentz shows some promise in certain areas of his game, but still is making the critical mistakes that put his team in a bad position.”

    • scratcherk

      brissett will score better

      • SteveH

        Brian Hoyer: 80.3

“Hoyer may have lost the game and thrown 3 interceptions, but he showed elite leadership, and handoff skills that cannot be underestimated.”

  • ChoTime

arians screwed up the game plan. He should be testing thsee cbs as much as possible.

    • Ark87

Nobody listens to me. Go ahead, try to establish that run on us.

    • Duracell

While I agree, it’s clear he’s very worried about the pressure and has called the game accordingly.

      • ChoTime

he’s dealing with the pressure by running. But our front 7 is good, and not just at sacks.

        • Duracell

Again, I agree. I don’t think he’s calling a good game at all and I’d rather be caught dead than defend Bruce Arians. But I do think the threat of the defensive line complicates the ability to attack our corners downfield.

    • xeynon

Hard to go bombs away with a terrible O line and a QB who’s a statue in the pocket.

      • ChoTime

not bombs away, quick hitters. these screens are fine too

  • scratcherk

    Blount is a baaaad man

  • Checkdown Charlie

Ran it down their Damn throat

  • SteveH

Wait when did Lane Johnson get hurt?

  • meteorologist
  • ChoTime

    this is getting embarassing

  • xeynon

I want to see Blount get 100 yards so we can snap that stupid streak the Cardinals defense is so proud of.

I want to be a team that not only beats opponents, but breaks their will to resist and destroys them.

  • scratcherk

    and media mike rejoices

  • Insomniac

I love watching Blount run. Dude is a train

  • anon

pederson might be a good coach – like that he’s using blount second half game killer

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Hate that pass

    • wallacemnw

      Yep.

    • xeynon

With a 24 point lead on the edge of the 4th quarter all you need to do there is not turn it over. Fine with that.

  • SteveH

Big Ben throws 2 pick sixes.

    PFF Score: 80.4

  • ChoTime

stop reading PFF, start reading football outsiders

  • ChoTime

plays like that little bubble screen thing are what the cards should have been doig all along

  • xeynon

Chris Fowler can’t keep his Carsons straight.

    • Crus57

glad we weren’t playing the cards in Carson City somehow or there’d be chaos.

      • SteveH

It’d be like crossing the streams.

  • xeynon

It’s pretty clear to me at this point that Doug Pederson is a good coach. There isn’t one game this season where the team hasn’t been prepared or come into the game with a sound game plan.

  • scratcherk

and who wanted hue jackson as a coach again? 4th and 2 from the 4 yard line down 3 and he goes for it…

  • Ark87

This D just wouldn’t work if everyone didn’t tackle really well. Credit to Schwartz on that.

    • ChoTime

it wouldn’t work if we didn,’t have an awesome DL.

      • Ark87

        Also true

  • Howie Littlefinger

Stay healthy run the ball and keep everything in front on D….

    Please

  • scratcherk

    3 dropped INTs

  • xeynon

The Cards’ offensive line is embarrassingly bad.

    • scratcherk

or is our DL embarrassingly good…?

      • xeynon

Palmer is the most hit/sacked QB in the NFL by a wide margin and they can’t run the ball at all. Don’t think it’s just us.

        • scratcherk

          i know, just being facetious

  • scratcherk

    great tackling.

  • Ark87

Cardinals WR’s are better at corner than our corners

  • scratcherk

    delay of game

  • scratcherk

    penalty

  • scratcherk

    WTF

  • scratcherk

    4 dropped INTS

    • xeynon

We’ve got a 31-7 lead and their deep speed hasn’t burned us yet. I’m not going to get greedy.

  • ChoTime

that was almost a jailbreak sack; we had too many rushers free

  • scratcherk

    Robinson playing very well

  • Checkdown Charlie

    11 min drive

    • jshort

      Was thinking same thing.

    • ChoTime

the time for the dink and dunk was at the very beginning, not the end

  • xeynon

11 minutes left. Do we tell Carson to go for Foles’ record?

    • Ark87

Cards D line and blitzing has me nervous with all their big hits, either run over and over or let Foles chase his own record is my vote

      • xeynon

Definitely being facetious. Don’t want to get him hurt.

      • jshort

        Can he throw yet?

        • Ark87

Good question, best not to find out

    • jshort

Can’t, Foles did it by the 3rd

  • GermanEagle

My score was 41-17. I suck at predicting.

  • scratcherk

WTF is going on with Ajayi

  • SteveH

    Urtzzz

  • scratcherk

    Blunt it forward.

  • xeynon

Time to bludgeon the Cardinals into submission with a Blount instrument.

  • ChoTime

wentz at 10 ypa. now that’s what i’m talking about!

    • scratcherk

      Air yards.

  • scratcherk

Was going to type if anyone knew if Chance rotated in this game. Hes in.

  • jshort

    Is this team this good?

    • scratcherk

When Wentz becomes consistent with the deep throw…. watch out.

    • ChoTime

this team is as good as the first 5 games show….

  • SteveH

Blount is the strangest runner I’ve ever seen, he looks like he’s barely moving but then he squirts through because no one can bring him down.

  • xeynon

Okay Doug, throwing the bomb to Barner is just rubbing it in.

    • scratcherk

      11 minute doug.

    • Dragon_Eagle

      But we approve.

    • ChoTime

      to mm?

    • SteveH

If it was against someone other than Arians.

  • ChoTime

the offense seems so sure-handed today. I woonder if the Cards’ D is just having problems, or they got some nice new sticky gloves

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Getting the coffin nails ready

  • T_S_O_P

    Boston, Boston

  • scratcherk

    blunt it in

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Hammer it home, Doug.

  • SteveH

Love this, another bigtime close out drive.

  • scratcherk

    hope lane is ok

    • SteveH

Yeah when did Lane go out? I didn’t even realize.

      • scratcherk

        halftime i think

      • T_S_O_P

        Head injury

      • ChoTime

how did we survive without him?

    • xeynon

I hope so too, but Big V is competent.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    We deserve this

  • xeynon

Wentz throws the slant really well.

    • Someguy77

His deep ball still stinks but he has made 7-8 great throws on slants/crosses that have been really impressive today.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Effie Warmack

  • scratcherk

    run some more time off

  • T_S_O_P

    Fuck Warmack

  • Dragon_Eagle

Doug!! You moron!! That was a lateral. Haven’t we learned our lesson? never, never, never, run that play. I don’t care what the score is.

    • meteorologist

34-7 “moron” a bit too strong

      • Dragon_Eagle

        Numbskull?

        • slow learner?

          • Dragon_Eagle

            Winner.

        • meteorologist

          I mean we’re 5-1

  • meteorologist

Wasn’t just that play. Warmack has been bad all game per Twitter. Leave Wiz in. Just swallow that dumb extension you gave to Warmack already

  • scratcherk

9 minute drive, fucking dougie p, you beautiful man.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    A 9 min drive works

  • T_S_O_P

    Pad #86’s stats

    • SteveH

6 for 61 and a score, another strong day from Zac the yac.

  • jshort

Think we’ll keep the kid kicker?

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Nice problem to have

      • T_S_O_P

I’m sure Tampa would love our predicament

  • Ark87

What was that a 9 minute drive!? Christ

    • xeynon

Second week in a row the offense has done this. Bodes well for later in the season.

  • ChoTime

nice beatdown. Good job by the vilified Ertz and Barner. Wentz seems to be getting better. the offense in general solved its butterfingers. agholor put up a true nfl highlight play. dougie had a good gameplan, arians did not. all without the best player on D.

    • meteorologist

Solid tacking too! Really stands out in comparison to Cardinals and Eagles teams of years past

  • SteveH

I’m not used to these no drama endings. I feel like something is missing.

    • Crus57

      blood pressure meds?

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Almost seems boring

      • SteveH

Yeah, a pleasant boring, but definitely not the usual excitement.

        • Dragon_Eagle

Ya know, I’m really OK with this. let it be a tad boring.

        • xeynon

I will take “pleasant but boring” for every 4th quarter from now through the Super Bowl.

    • ChoTime

everyone wanted a blowout and we finally got it. boring, but good.

      • Howie Littlefinger

I wanted it for sure. This was really nice.

two 4-1 teams playing on Thursday 🙂

  • Someguy77

The Eagles front 7 has just dominated this game. Graham continues to be underrated and Curry has had his best game of the year.

    Really impressive with Cox out.

    • SteveH

Jernigan was a beast against the run too. With Cox in our front 4 is so beast.

      • Someguy77

Yeah I thought this defense would miss Logan vs run but Jernigan is a better fit.

  • SteveH

Why are the Cards even running plays. Just take some knees and go home.

    • scratcherk

      fantasy points. for my opponent…

  • Insomniac

Since the games over, I went over to check out the other scores. The Jaguars D has 5 picks. Holy shit they kicked the Steelers ass.

  • T_S_O_P

Grungier-Hill in on some D action

  • Someguy77

Haven’t been games where the Eagles took the other team ‘to the woodshed’ the last 5-6 years.

Just dominated this Cardinals team today physically up front on both sides of the ball. Nice to see an Eagles’ team do that.

Very interested to see how the Eagles match up with a very physical team (panthers) on Thurs.

    • wee2424

On a short week and on the road. Fortunately no injuries today. I hope Cox and Smallwood can play Thursday. Cox will 100% be needed Thursday.

I wonder if Cox maybe could have played today but DP was saving him for the Car. game to be safe.

  • scratcherk

    touchback????

    • Dragon_Eagle

      Maybe?

      • SteveH

        I think it’s out.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Good eye

  • xeynon

Carson Palmer has to be thinking about retirement after a game like this.

    • Bert’s Bells

He should retire and force the Cards to trade him to the Giants.

  • T_S_O_P

    No TD imo

    • T_S_O_P

But I am a fucking homer

      • scratcherk

        an accurate homer

    • FairOaks

Thought the ball definitely came about before crossing the goal line. Also thought it was arguable that the ball did not cross the plane and so it was out of bounds at the one foot line. But on that score… the ruling on the field was the ball crossed the plane and that was hard to overturn…

  • SteveH

    lol, it’s our day.

  • scratcherk

    beautiful

  • SteveH

Jets are gonna win again. They’ve got a winning record while trying to tank lol.

  • scratcherk

dont be a douche and call a TO here.

  • SteveH

Cards deserve that IMO, why even be running plays with that amount of time left.

  • meteorologist

McLeod with the nice TD saving hit

    • xeynon

I love that he’s still hustling on a meaningless play.

  • Someguy77

This has to be the first game vs Eagles where Fitzgerald did nothing against them.

  • scratcherk

surprised the fat security guy follows Dougie around.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Go Pack!

  • T_S_O_P

Right, time to metaphorically put some cheese on my head. Fuck the ‘Boys

    • scratcherk

i’m literally putting cheese on my head if it helps

  • Ark87

I remember seeing that happen to us as a young child. And it sticks with me today how much I thought it was unfair for a fumble going out of bounds in the endzone is and automatic turnover

  • Someguy77

No team misses a player more than the Cardinals miss David Johnson. With him, this offense is completely different.

To Schwartz’s credit, he took advantage of it and blitzed early and often. Loved the aggression after the early scores.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Hard to care when we are missing so many players

    • xeynon

It would better, but their line is horrendous, which is the biggest problem. A.Q. freaking Shipley is starting for them.

  • SteveH

I kind of want the Giants to lose, just because.

    • Someguy77

      Kind of?

      • FairOaks

Wouldn’t mind seeing them move themselves down in the draft some (provided they lose vs the Eagles). They are not making the playoffs. I sorta want to see the Chargers get a win though as well — everyone but their owner doesn’t deserve what is happening to them.

    • scratcherk

i want the lions to win too, just cuz

  • Someguy77

Wentz looks so much better when this team commits to the run and only has Wentz throw 30-35 times vs 40-45 times

    • anon

looks really good when his receivers are wide open and line plays well. Wentz did a great job today, got 1st downs with his legs, was way better on deep balls

    • T_S_O_P

      11-12 on 3rd down. Outer-worldly!!!

    • xeynon

True of literally every QB, but it’s nice to see him not have to carry the load every week.

  • Bert’s Bells

PFF grades are just in. Wentz has the lowest score possible for a QB.

    • T_S_O_P

Meanwhile, regardless of being retired, Broderick Bunkley is still the leagues best pass rusher!!!

    • xeynon

Dak would’ve thrown for 800 yards and 11 TDs.

    • Howie Littlefinger

He really sucks with the quick screens.

    • sonofdman

You need to factor in the plays that would have been interceptions if a defender was in a better position.

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Marven Lewis on Jake Elliot:

“He’s what 8/10 with just one game winner since he got there”

    • wee2424

I would put the win against the Chargers on him as well.

  • Crus57

That is a nasty injury to OBJ’s ankle

    • scratcherk

      just now?

      • Crus57

yeah, landed and the DB rolled him over his left foot which ended up pointing at least 90 degrees from normal with all his weight on it

        • Dave

Giants are without all three starting WRs now. All injured today.

          • ChoTime

Negadelphian: they get their new qb in the draft this year.

          • sonofdman

Yep. With the injuries it seems destined to happen. At least we can enjoy watching them lose this season.

        • daveH

Seems like rolling over on players had become one of the most dangerous situations in all of football !!

    • Dave

      Broken ankle

  • D3FB

God Doug is the WORST PLAYCALLER EVER!

    FIRE THAT BUM

    • Howie Littlefinger

AMEN I hate how he thinks time of possession is relevant

  • T_S_O_P

    Drinking Rum, we are 4-0.

  • Ark87

God Chargers and Giants always losing heart breakers. Someone finally gets to win. Right now with a late Eli fumble, I hope that breaks their backs

    • Dave

I want to see the Giants win. I feel they’re no threat and I don’t want them to have a chance at a top draft pick to potentially get a franchise QB to replace Eli.

      • Ark87

Oh wow, haven’t thought of that angle

  • Dave

Dear Doug, stop listening to Stoutland and keep Warmack on the bench Thursday. Better yet, deactivate him and dress Semaulo as Wiz’s backup.

  • xmbk

    35:47 ToP, lowered session average.

    Bums.

    • xeynon

It’s such a pleasant change after three seasons of Chip running the defense into the ground by forcing them to play the equivalent of two extra games every season.

  • scratcherk

did the giants just lose three of their top WRs to ankle injuries today?

    • T_S_O_P

      Yep

    • T_S_O_P

      I think they lost a back-up too.

    • Dave

      Yup

  • T_S_O_P

    Douggie is funny.

  • scratcherk

    how is witten so open

  • GENETiC-FREAK

Oh wow look like Beckham is done. So much for Giants going all in this year. 0-5 all out.

  • scratcherk

    bs call

  • sonofdman

    what a load of crap

  • Dragon_Eagle

Jerry Jones pays off the refs again. that was awful.

    • sonofdman

can’t wait until fox brings in party bus Dean to talk about it

    • FairOaks

Worse call than any in the Eagles game I think. Ref basically gave Dallas four points.

  • scratcherk

    GIFT TD, FUCK YOU REFS

  • Ankerstjernen

watching the Dallas-Greenbay game, and its just maddening. So far, Zeke has run it 9 times for almost no gain, but they manage to convert a 4th down, Dak throws a 40 yards pass into completely broken coverage on Butler and then again to Witten, who looks like he is struggling to actually run like a normal person at this stage. Then the refs flag GB for unnessecary roughness on a defenseless receiver on 3rd and goal where Bryant completely drops the ball, and from the replay there was hardly any contact with the DB at all – his arm graces against his helmet and shoulder at the exact point the ball is dropped. Nothing there. Then naturally they score a TD. I know Im biased, but this Dallas-team is not a good team. I feel strongly, the moment things stop falling out in their favor, they will collapse completely. Tonight would be a nice night to start that trend. GO Packers!

  • scratcherk

    oh no flag for that…

    • sonofdman

that was an actual personal foul

    • Dragon_Eagle

Nah, it would have been against the Cowboys. So, no, of course not.

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Wow. Rodgers is good.

    • scratcherk

i think ive seen him before.

  • Ankerstjernen

..then of course the Packers miss the extra point. Oh god. It is not going to be another one of those nights, is it? I can’t take anymore of that shit.

    • sonofdman

      It’s ok. 34-7!

  • Dave

According to dr. David Chao, Beckham has a complete ligament tear with a fibula fracture

    • sonofdman

Ouch. I had that same injury freshman year of college (many many years ago).

      • jshort

        How long were you out?

        • sonofdman

At that time. I couldn’t put any weight on it for 12 weeks. Probably about 9 months until I was back to 100%. If it is the same as mine and there are not complications like nerve damage, then he should be good to go by the beginning of next season.

      • Dave

        Well that sucks.

    • Ark87

Body bag game for their WR’s, lost 4 I think. That is outrageous. That should keep every contender up at night like, yeah, there goes an entire position group. I guess that can happen, Good season.

Doesn’t matter for the Giants as their season was over anyway.

      • sonofdman

Just saw a replay of the ODB play. Eli screwed him with that pass.

      • jshort

So who are they going to take with the #1 pick?

        • Ark87

QB of their choice, will probably be some guy that isn’t getting much buzz right now because he isn’t on the most relevant team, and the obvious choices now will have a bad performance at a bowl game or run a bad 3 cone and the Patriots will nab him at the end of the first round.

          • Dave

Chargers, Giants and Browns vying for the #1 pick.

          • Ark87

my former roommate is a Jets fan, and so sad, that was supposed to be the Jet’s pick. The front office did all they could to tank. But freaking Todd Bowles.

        • D3FB

It’s going to be ironic as fuck when Josh Rosen forces his way to the chargers instead of the giants

          • sonofdman

            LOL! That would be awesome.

          • sonofdman

Eli has never beaten the Chargers, I think.

    • truehaynes

      could be career altering

      • Dave

And Beckham is due a new contract or franchise tag. Get your popcorn ready.

  • xmbk

So, if all the players went into a pool and the teams had to draft from start, would Wentz go first?

    • jshort

You have mind working since you posted that. Wentz has so much room to grow on top of what he’s doing right now.

  • truehaynes

that has to be a hold haha

  • truehaynes

    i still hate torrey smith

  • Ankerstjernen

..so now the packer two starting corners are out. Because of course. Dallas might actually win this one easily.

    • Ark87

Look forward to our blowout being completely invisible and Dallas being fluffed all the way to the Superbowl. Preferable for us I guess, next week is our big game

      • Ankerstjernen

Yes, if they beat the packers, who so far has looked like the Chargers against us for the first three quarters, there will be no end to the discussions about how Daks QB-rating through 20 games is higher than Rodgers and so might actually be an even better QB, which might make him the greatest ever. And then Ill throw up in my mouth.

For some reason I feel strongly about this. Its weird. I never hated Romo, even though I rooted strongly against Dallas. I didn’t even hate Demarco Murray until He Who Shall Not Be Named gave him a boatload of money to suck with us. But this Dallas-team, with Zeke and Dak, is just unbearable. Everything about their perceived greatness annoys me to no end.
