Gameday – DAL at PHI

The Eagles won’t be playing all of their starters.

Wow. That’s a lot of talent on the sideline. I’m fine with that. The defense is a veteran group that knows what they’re doing. Why rest those guys and play Fletcher Cox, Malcolm Jenkins and other starters? My guess is the players sitting out have some nagging injuries that could use a bit of extra rest.

Guys like Beau Allen and Steven Means are going to get a lot of reps. It will be interesting to see who plays at LB. I think they’ll mix and match players there. Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones will likely split time at CB.

Wendell Smallwood is back from Siberia. He could get plenty of work today. Will Shelton Gibson have a pass thrown his way?

I wrote a preview of the game for PE.com. This is an unusual situation, but Doug Pederson will have his usual message. The team has played well for him this year no matter who was on the field. It will be interesting to see how things play out today.

Nick Foles and the offense need to have some success.

If Foles is sharp, he could play as little as a quarter. If things are mixed, he will stay out there. Pederson wants Foles and the offense ready for the bad weather games of January.

This might be a meaningless game, but it would be great to see the Eagles win and get to 14-2. That would be the franchise record for wins. The Eagles currently have the #1 run defense in the league. I’d love to see them keep that ranking. It would be the first time since Gang Green in 1991.

The most important thing for today…stay healthy.

*****

The problem with winning is that people come and steal your coaches and players.

We’ll talk more about these rumors in the next week.

It will be critical that Pederson hire good replacements. Andy Reid built a great staff in 1999. It was poached over the next five years and he didn’t hire the best replacements. That had a lot to do with the inconsistent play after the success of the early years.

    This x 100000000000

  • SteveH

This is the least stoked I’ve been for a Dallas/Philly game in a long while.

    • Guy Media

      Pure game for scouting.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Happy New Years Eve.
What are you watching for today? Besides injuries, of course.

    • T_S_O_P

      A Dallas L

    • Guy Media

I’d like to see some of the depth guys show some level of functionality. Means, Smallwood, Gibson, Seumalo, etc.

    • scratcherk

looking forward to seeing sidney play. looking for a run game being established. foles with a couple good passes.

    • T_S_O_P

I don’t want to see Zeke’s tummy, but he didn’t get my memo! Posing twat.

    • Checkdown Charlie

I’d like to see both Foles and Sudfield look proficient.

    • Crus57

A few things I’m hoping NOT to see: Foles retreating 12 steps at the sight of a dallas jersey, Foles double hitching a throw that is then late and dangerous.

I’d like one of our QBs to hit on a deep ball, and our OL to hold up reasonably well.

  • T_S_O_P

    Screw Dallas!

  • kajomo

Tommy’s suggestions in his previous post of inactives made no sense to me. I’m glad the eagles went a different route. I want the Will Beatty’s of this roster to get some playing time.

  • scratcherk

    ok here we go.

  • kajomo

Steve Spangoulo makes so much sense as a Schwartz replacement

  • Guy Media

WAY too slow of a whistle for forward progress there.

  • scratcherk

glad to see ags actually get it on the end around.

  • scratcherk

    16 yards for 250K

  • SteveH

Here’s a tough job: be the media promo guy for the Browns. Holy shit imagine trying to make a hype reel.

    • Guy Media

      All mock drafts

  • scratcherk

great throw in the open spot in the zone

  • SteveH

Ok Ertz got a catch now put him on ice.

  • Guy Media

    Nice blocking Lane

    • scratcherk

      wasnt it brooks?

      • A_T_G

        Yep

  • scratcherk

    fucking torrey.

  • A_T_G

    Dammit Smith.

  • Guy Media

    TORREY SMITH DROP! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    • A_T_G

      Body catch (attempt).

  • scratcherk

    messed up the fucking rhythm

  • scratcherk

what the hell was going on with the routes in the middle of the field there

  • SteveH

Foles puts it on the money and Smith cinderblock hands it. I can’t wait to ship smith out next year and give all his snaps to the Mack Truck.

    • Guy Media

Smith’s contract agrees with you…………and so does Howie.

    • A_T_G

      Why wait…

  • Checkdown Charlie

    That started nice but then……………

  • A_T_G

I like that Foles felt the clock in his head and threw it somewhere. No throw away.

  • scratcherk

well i was happy enough with that drive. foles looked competent. replace torrey with mack and we’re driving for a td.

    • SteveH

Mack probably stiff arms 3 people on his way to the end zone. Seriously that could not have been an easier catch for Smith. That was like Agholor last year.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    What # is Sidney?

    • A_T_G

      #1 CB.

      • A_T_G

        (I don’t know either)

    • Crus57

      22

      • Checkdown Charlie

        TY

  • scratcherk

    nice job by rasul

  • scratcherk

love that rasul got a lick in.

  • Guy Media

    Rasuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul

  • Checkdown Charlie

    FU Dez

  • A_T_G

Bryant must be so pissed: wide open, bad throw, takes a hit.

    • Howie Littlefinger

The best part is they are running him out of town. He makes 17.5 Mil a year for Dak to lob it over his head. I love how every year that franchise is a circus

  • scratcherk

    i thought witten was inactive.

    • A_T_G

Nah, he is quite active for someone his age.

  • Guy Media

Sell out and smash everybody here

  • scratcherk

    HAHAHAH DEFENSEEEEE

  • scratcherk

    FUCK YOU ZEKE

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Vinnnny

  • Guy Media

NOT ON OUR FIELD YOU DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMITTING SCUMBAG!

  • scratcherk

my buddy whos a saints fan was saying how much of a baller ellerbe was when he wasnt hurt

    • scratcherk

(he was in on that tackle)

  • Duracell

Not that it matters, but I thought I had read Witten would be inactive.

    • scratcherk

      same here

  • scratcherk

lets get a td and get nicky franchise off the field

  • Checkdown Charlie

I like what Belicheat did. Put thermometers in Jets tunnel

  • Howie Littlefinger

Torrey Smith really belonged on this team last year. I hope he doesnt see the field in the post season

  • Duracell

Minnesota doesn’t scare me at all in the playoffs. Outside of ATL/SEA, I’m not sure there’s another team I’d rather face.

    • scratcherk

i want panthers, then atl…. then big gap then MIN

      • Duracell

I agree that the Panthers are also a good matchup for us.

    • kajomo

I’d much rather face the rams. I could see the Vikings completely shutting our offense down

      • Duracell

With Ellerbe we might actually be able to play in the base defense, but I still want nothing to do with Gurley.

    • A_T_G

      They all scare me now.

  • scratcherk

get us a SB before you go to NYG, Schwartz

  • kajomo

Donnie Jones has been awful lately.

    • scratcherk

      is it the cold balls?

      • kajomo

No excuse for a NFL punter. Won’t change in the playoffs either

        • Duracell

It’s been an underrated concern with everything else going on.

      • A_T_G

The heated bench should help with that.

  • ColorSgt

Seems like Foles is just trying to get the ball out quickly. I thought Alshon was open enough to throw it downfield.

  • scratcherk

    dak…

  • scratcherk

cox already pulled, natey franchise coming up?

  • SteveH

    Sudfeld era?

    • lewis don

      Im into it

  • Duracell

Surprised we aren’t seeing one more drive out of Foles. He looked good on the first one at least. Maybe concerned about the pressure Lawrence is getting…

    • SteveH

If Torrey Smith didn’t have frozen hot dogs for fingers that might have been a TD drive.

    • lewis don

      Ive had enough of foles…tbh

    • Duracell

Nevermind then. Looked like Nate was gonna come in.

  • SteveH

Dak sucks so much. I love it.

    • daveH

Their red head does also .. love that Jurrah loves them

  • lewis don

    I think its the weather.

  • laeagle

Yep. We’ve reached peak announcing. Ronde Barber just declared that the strength of the Eagles defense is “definitely” the secondary.

    • scratcherk

just like in the most recent draft needs it said CB for eagles…. these people get paid for this?

  • scratcherk

    ertz smoked lee

  • A_T_G

    Ertz made Lee look slow.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    OK
    Get Ertz out now

  • scratcherk

should have gotten him out after the first drive…

  • Duracell

    Well that was ugly.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Enough Foles
    Will just piss me off

  • Gary Barnes

Not exactly inspiring offense so far

Can Foles hit anyone else but Ertz?

If Roseman keeps Smith, he needs to have his head examined.

    Defense showing up at least

  • SteveH

    Welp.

  • scratcherk

lol, beau was about to truck dak

  • ChoTime
  • Duracell

Watkins 2 hand shoved right in the back but no flag.

  • lewis don

Foles is done….I have zero percent confidence in this guy

  • scratcherk

    good goode.

  • A_T_G

    Goode stop.

  • kajomo

But brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer…give me a break

  • ColorSgt

Beau could have crushed Dak but didn’t.

  • scratcherk

    rasul is a baller man

    • Duracell

      I’m a big fan.

    • A_T_G

I miss having him on the field.

  • Howie Littlefinger

Suds can’t be much worse than Foles honestly

he has no confidence in himself

    • lewis don

Im not sure if its the weather, but his arm looks weak by nfl standards

      • Howie Littlefinger

His brain is what I’m worried about. Does not look like he believes he can play

    • A_T_G

      Yes he can.

      • Howie Littlefinger

How? I’m sure he can back peddle just as well. Foles looks shook since last week.

I would even consider playing Dak over him lol

  • scratcherk

they got some decisions at CB next year.

    • Howie Littlefinger

      Yeah Draft Moar!

  • Gary Barnes

First drive Foles had some rhythm but gone downhill since then

  • scratcherk

    screen again.

  • scratcherk

get him out before he loses any confidence he has left.

  • A_T_G

    WTFoles?

  • scratcherk

    dont get suspended…

  • scratcherk

    Foles gold.

  • Gary Barnes

4 for 11 with a INT vs a poor Dallas defense is not good

  • Howie Littlefinger

    Foles to Torrey Smith…

The connection only Eagles fans fear

  • ChoTime

    This is embarrassing.

    • Howie Littlefinger

We have no Sean Lee, we have no chance

  • Howie Littlefinger

Anyone Wish we had Bradford instead??

    • scratcherk

      wish we had case instead.

    • laeagle

      ouch

    • ChoTime

      Than Foles? Yeah, I guess.

  • Gary Barnes

Pederson with seemingly no answers to get Foles settled in and productive

    • ChoTime

Yeah, I thought Dug would manage to get him playing better than this.

      • scratcherk

first drive looked good, should have pulled him

        • ChoTime

Good to hear, I missed it.

  • scratcherk

tough position for dougie. let nick play through it or get him out?

    • A_T_G

He isn’t much good to us unless he gets past this.

  • Gary Barnes

Thankfully, Dallas O looks like a high school squad

    • scratcherk

      competition for more incompetent o

  • scratcherk

    good job by kendircks.

  • scratcherk

    foles backed up…. goodness.

    • Gary Barnes

Yea, we’ve been getting killed m the field position battle these last two games

  • A_T_G

Okay Foles, 93 yards on 7 of 9 with 4 runs mixed in.

    • A_T_G

      Or have a seat. Whatever…

  • scratcherk

now what if sudfeld looks good…

    • A_T_G

I don’t know if that would be good or bad.

      • BlindChow

Good because it’ll give us hope he can play instead of Nick; bad because Doug would never do that.

  • Gary Barnes

Running the ball works, wow who would have thunk it?

    • daveH

Blount getthing his 21 yards ??

  • scratcherk

looks more mobile than nick, the RPO might work with him

  • Checkdown Charlie

Can we get Carson into TOs hyperbolic chamber?

  • DarthBanner

Sudefeld with a higher QBR than foles already

  • scratcherk

    fuck.

  • A_T_G

So…he looks kinda good. Oh boy.

    • scratcherk

gonna be an interesting couple weeks in phiily sports radio

    • ChoTime

Looks so much sharper than Nick. Weird.

  • scratcherk

    now theres a punt

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Finally, a good punt

  • A_T_G

Donnie putting the critics back on the heated bench.

  • lewis don

its not that sudfled will be good or not. I just cant keep watching nick foles. he is SO SLOW and IMMOBILE and just meh.. I dont believe Foles will be good. I believe I have seen everything he could be

  • scratcherk

my goodness, it would be ultimate big balls doug move to start sudfeld’s first game in the divisional playoffs

  • scratcherk

whatever the decision, you have to decide before the game starts. cant give foles a chance to suck before pulling him. nate would need all the practice snaps too.

    • Howie Littlefinger

HAHAH we already talking about this? We have 2 weeks to dissect. I hope Foles lost his job again tho. He looked about as clueless as possible.

      • ChoTime

He looked like someone who’s never taken a snap in the nfl.

      • scratcherk

i mean i think its the ONLY thing to talk about

        • A_T_G

How about: Dak or Hoying? More disappointing sophomore?

  • A_T_G

Funny, 7 for 7 would be great for Dak, but terrible for Zeke.

  • scratcherk

    Theres Means, love that guy

  • Gary Barnes

    Steven MEANS business!

    • A_T_G

      By any Means necessary.

    • Howie Littlefinger

Nice to see his preseason skills translate

  • ChoTime

    Beautiful sack!

    • scratcherk

      TWSS

  • ChoTime

    The D looks good.

    • scratcherk

      TWSS.

  • SteveH

    Hot take: Sudfeld > Foles.

    Also Steven Means rules.

    • Techtriumph

I don’t know if he’s better, but I think I’d take door number 2 over Foles.

      • SteveH

That throw to Marcus Johnson on the sideline is not a throw that Foles can make.

  • ConcussedFB

Well, the “under” looks like a pretty safe bet today.

  • Dave
  • A_T_G

    Mack?! Wha?

  • scratcherk

    mack been hanging around torrey.

  • SteveH

    What the hell Mack.

  • daveH

Is LeG Blount getting his 21 yards ??

    • FairOaks

He’s at 28 now, so as long as he avoids the TFLs… yes

      • daveH

Nice paycheck for him !! ‘Preesh the update indeed. TY, HNY

  • scratcherk

    will beatty = the suck

  • A_T_G

    That wasn’t good QBing.

  • Duracell

    Can’t take a sack there.

  • SteveH

Ahhh jeez we’re trying to protect Sudfeld with Will Beatty? Talk about throwing him into the deep end.

  • scratcherk

doesnt someone need to pick up his pants.

    • A_T_G

      You sound like my wife.

      • Checkdown Charlie

        Well played

  • shah8

I wasn’t watching the game because it’s meaningless. Seems less meaningless when I see that Nate freakin’ Sudfeld is in. So here I am, checking for reports…

    • SteveH

Well Sudfeld actually has looked pretty good so far, Will Beatty not so much.

      • shah8

I remember the drafting reports for Sudfeld. This was a guy who was prone to stretches of awful play, and who had always gone by the “looks the part” aspect.

        • ChoTime

He looks skinny and very young, but he seemed to see the field much better than FOles and make quick decisions. He threw screens, short passes, and a nice medium one that went pretty far in the air. He did slip once and take an unfortunate sack, but he looked better than Foles (at least after Foles’ first drive).

          • shah8

He consistently throws catchable balls? In college, many of his low arc throws were micro-inaccurate, so WRs had to work hard to catch them……

          • ChoTime

Hm, one of his passes did go through someone’s arms. I suspect Bradford has this issue, too.

    • Checkdown Charlie

      Foles still sucks

    • daveH

I’m driving so I’m relying on the comments here also

  • ChoTime

Are you… allowed to undress and leave your shit on the field?

    • scratcherk

might be a good strategy for playoffs.

      • Crus57

good if the other team have a good punt returner, use the clothes as a tripwire

  • Gary Barnes

Division still looks in Eagles favor moving forward

Cowboys under Garrett and Jones will continue to under perform, Dak and Bryant over rated, defense still mediocre

Giants in a rebuild with new coach and GM and old Eli

Redskins under Gruden are average, may let Cousins go and limited weapons on O and D

  • SteveH

I’m loving that Dallas can’t move the ball on our backups. How humiliating for them.

  • scratcherk

so in the playoffs can the offense score 7 pts if our d shuts htem out?

    • Gary Barnes

      Open question right now lol

  • scratcherk

    sidney nojes!

  • jshort

    Our D needs to score.

    • scratcherk

it would be selfish of them not to.

  • A_T_G

Some blitzer just did a cartwheel.

    • scratcherk

if only he had gotten a sack doing so.

  • scratcherk

    off side.s

  • Gary Barnes

Its a fumble! oh offside, maroons

    • scratcherk

      macaroons?

  • A_T_G

    Sure Zeke, it’s the gloves.

  • scratcherk

    hold on offense

  • Gary Barnes

Lmao Garrett with the Eli face

  • A_T_G

    Set the edge, rook.

  • scratcherk

can we borrow a QB from a team not in playoffs? we can give them back when we’re done…

    • scratcherk

      ill even take a cousins

  • Checkdown Charlie

Do you think FreeD is free?

  • A_T_G

    How is that not OPI?

  • ChoTime

    OPI!?

  • SteveH

And this is why you don’t play all your starters in a meaningless season finale. If that’s an ACL or something equivalent could affect his availability for the start of next season.

  • scratcherk

hate to see injury on last game.

    • daveH

      To whom ??

      • scratcherk

        jonathan cooper DAL

        • daveH

Ok ..tanks. .preesh the updates. HNY

    • ChoTime

Isn’t it the best time for it to happen?

      • scratcherk

        true.

  • scratcherk

    false start and holding.

  • A_T_G

    Zeke heard footsteps.

  • scratcherk

sigh, i have no answer still after this game. are we stuck with foles for playoffs? is there any chance nate does better?

  • A_T_G

    Barner is aggressively fielding punts.

  • scratcherk

    get out of bounds bud.

  • Techtriumph

This game has me in the depression stage of grief.

  • Gary Barnes

    Brutal

  • scratcherk

so wtf do we do… what a waste of 13-3/14-2

    • Techtriumph

Figure out who we’re drafting at 28.

      • xeynon

        Seriously, fuck this attitude.

They may well lose in the playoffs. But I refuse to not enjoy the ride, however long it lasts.

Phialadelphians can be such miserable SOBs.

        • Techtriumph

Oh I’m sorry, they look great! Foles is so decisive, so crisp on execution, they look incredible.

I mean I feel great going into the playoffs. Everyone should fear this team right now!

          • xeynon

You can be a realist without being a miserable drag.

Fandom is supposed to be fun. It’s only a game. Chill out.

          • BC1968

The year the Cardinals went to the Super Bowl they ended their season pretty dreadfully if I recall. Even being smoked by the Pats like 49-0 in New England. Anything can happen at home with this defense. Running game has to step up. You can afford drops with Wentz, Smith has to catch that ball for Foles. Same with Hollins for Sudfeld, two perfectly called plays.

          • xeynon

That’s the way to look at it AFAIC. Sure, Foles might very well crap the bed and play them out of the playoffs in the divisional round. But he might not. And there is zero psychological benefit to making yourself miserable obsessing over the possibility.

I’m going in with realistic expectations (I expect them to make the NFC championship game at best) but I’m not going to mope about it. It’s still been a great season, far better than anyone hoped. Winning deep into the playoffs would be gravy at this point since they’re facing so much adversity.

          • BlindChow

Watch out, the fan police are here!

          • xeynon

A small part of me thinks a portion of the Eagles fanbase deserves all the misery they experience.

    • Checkdown Charlie

Run the fuck out of the ball

      • A_T_G

Yep. Any QB looks good if you force 9 defenders into the box.

        • scratcherk

well thats what im wondering. how do you get teh run game going if they have 8 in the box? and how do you get foles going if you cant get the run going? chicken and egg..

    • Jernst

Vick is terrible on Fox…does anyone think he’s got 3 magical games left in that body? He knows Andy’s offense. What about Romo? Is Charlie Batch still alive? I know McNabb looks like a fat mob boss that wottles from one meal to the next these days, but…

I dunno…I’m at a loss. It looks like either we play Nick and we lose immediately in the playoffs or we take some ridiculous Hail Mary shot with someone else. Hell, even Sudfeld might give us a better chance at this point.

  • SteveH

I think this is awesome. We’re playing 2nd and 3rd stringers against the Cowboys starters and they can’t do shit.

Edit: We have Will fucking Beatty protecting Nate Fucking Sudfeld. If we win this game this should be a complete humiliation for the Cowboys, which is fantastic.

  • A_T_G

First scoreless first half in the NFL since 2011? Wow, that is surprising.

  • xeynon

So I’m on the road from Charlotte back to DC and not watching the game… looks like Foles/the offense have been bad again. Is it mostly conservative playcalling, or what?

Please don’t tell me we’re going to have to endure two weeks of “start Sudfeld!” posts/tweets/phone calls from the dumber part of the Eagles’ fanbase.

    • ChoTime

He has regressed. Slow-thinking, wobbly passes, bad decision making.

      • xeynon

I sincerely hope that he/Pederson are sandbagging for the playoffs.

        • Masked Man

          We can only hope….

        • ChoTime

          who knows…

    • scratcherk

      we certainly are going to

    • SteveH

Foles had a good drive going on the first possession that got killed by a TERRIBLE drop by Torrey Smith. Foles was mostly bad from there including an atrociously awful interception.

    • scratcherk

what were u up to in charlotte?

      • xeynon

VisitIng my dad and stepmom for the holidays, today was the best day to head back home.

        • scratcherk

we live in pineville, love the city

    • Jernst

Foles looks like hot garbage (completely independent of play calling) Sudfeld comes in, looks much sharper, stronger arm and runs some of the same plays Foles missed on, except he completes the pass. So get ready…the start Sudfeld train is starting up. Hell, the more I’m thinking about it I might actually jump on as well.

      • scratcherk

hard to not at least consider it, seeing foles in action

  • SteveH

WHY does Gronk have no receptions yet. This is killing my fantasy team.

    • xeynon

Your mistake for playing in a league that continues through week 17. 😛

    • Insomniac

      Same.

    • Guy Media

How is your team still playing in week 17?

      • SteveH

        Fanduel.

        • Guy Media

          ohhhhhhh

  • Insomniac

I’m listening to the radio since I don’t have any sort of way to watch today. Guess I made the right choice to help my parents move stuff to the new house today.

    • A_T_G

Yep. Help them move, set up the TV and sound, make sure it is set for the playoffs.

      • Insomniac

I wish. They have one of those old big screen plasma tv. It’s not exactly light or small.

    • Jernst

I’m legitimately jealous of you…I’d love to be helping someone move today.

      • BlindChow

*we all show up at Insomniac’s parents’ house next week*

  • daveH

    Dion Lewis is great

    • scratcherk

great? or the greatest eagle ever?

      • Crus57

that’s no way to talk about Frank Gore

    • Guy Media

      And never on the field.

      • daveH

Ha!! U spotted me for a second. . Indeed

  • Masked Man

Feels like a preseason game. Sid Jones #22 looks pretty frisky out there!

  • Guy Media

Foles hasn’t been good, but the O-line has been way lazy as well. I’m pretty sure that we won’t know what’s up until we get to the end of the divisional round game. I can’t get any kind of assessment out of the last 1.5 games.

    • Masked Man

Somebody said they hope Pederson and Foles are sand bagging for the playoffs. Is that possible?

      • Guy Media

I think the play calling is being sandbagged, but not the execution.

        • xeynon

The two are somewhat interdependent. Vanilla playcalling makes crisp execution harder by making the defense’s job easier.

Doesn’t totally excuse Foles stinking it up, but there is reason to hope that when Pederson is actually playing for all the marbles he’ll be able to scheme up the plays that are needed as he did against the Giants.

          • Guy Media

I’m more annoyed with missed blocks vs. overrated pussies on Dallas’ D, but point taken.

  • Guy Media

    Lazy pursuit on Elliot there

  • scratcherk

plenty of protection, miss wide open.

  • A_T_G

    Dak sucks.

  • scratcherk

    sidney learning from jalen

  • Guy Media

Keep playing your starters Dallas; we’re going to body bag a few more of them.

  • SteveH

I’m loving how bad Dak is. It’s glorious.

  • scratcherk

    we’re talking about the punters…

  • scratcherk

i dont think i could catch a single pass in that weather.

    • A_T_G

Torrey, put down the phone and get back on the field.

      • Jernst

        Haha … thanks for that

  • Crus57

Celek makes it to his milestone on that pass I believe

    • scratcherk

      which one

      • Crus57

I think it was 5,000yds lifetime?

  • Guy Media

    General thoughts:
    – yes, the first team offense sucked
    – first team D can bring it
    – I’d expect them bringing some stuff from a play calling standpoint that nobody has seen yet for the divisional game
    – I still expect two wins vs. flawed teams that have to enter our buiding

  • scratcherk

love how nate spins in place.

    • SteveH

Yeah that was not a Vick-esque spin lol.

  • A_T_G

Holding on a fair catch? Hehe.

  • Kohlhaas

can we please stop the 1st down pass/ 2nd down run rhythm they’ve gotten into on every possession?

  • scratcherk

    cool google commercial

  • SteveH

Am I the only one absolutely loving that the Cowboys starters can’t do shit against us.

    • ChoTime

      yeah, has to be embarrassing.

  • Masked Man

Would hate to lose Schwartz to the Giants……

    • xeynon

Meh. I like Schwartz as a DC. His track record as a HC is pretty bad. If he goes there I’m not too scared of him. More worried about them hiring DeFilippo to develop Eli’s replacement honestly.

      • SteveH

I just want scheme continuity if we have a new DC. 1 gap, aggressive stuff.

  • SteveH

lol, Nate Gerry making plays. Guys no one has ever heard of stopping the Cowboys starters. Get fucked Dallas.

  • scratcherk

wow, collins had 100 lbs on him

  • scratcherk

    allright offense. come on

  • Guy Media

Dallas needs to concede and put in their backups or we need to remind them why starters shouldn’t be in this game. KILL EM!

  • Guy Media

    Barner fingers strikes again

    • scratcherk

hes been pretty good this year.

      • Duracell

He’s been better than expected on offense, but outside of his first game, I think he’s been pretty bad as a returner.

        • scratcherk

#7 in the league in punt return yards.

          • Duracell

That probably has to do with the one big return and the defense forcing a lot of punts. My biggest problem with him is that he lets way too many punts hit the ground. He’s routinely cost us 15 yards in field position doing that. Sproles would do the same, but also frequently broke big returns, so I could overlook it.

        • xeynon

He doesn’t make bad decisions and at least until recently didn’t drop the ball. All you can ask for out of a replacement level punt returner.

          • Guy Media

There have been a few questionable “let it bounce / roll” decisions that have pinned us deeper than necessary.

          • xeynon

Yeah but he doesn’t do dumb things like try to field the ball in a crowd inside his own 10 or anything. He has a good understanding of his limitations and doesn’t try to play outside them.

          • Guy Media

Then what’s up with the muffs?

    • xeynon

      Barner is Reno Mahe 2.0.

      • Guy Media

Mahe didn’t muff / fumble that much.

  • DarthBanner

A few weeks ago I had confidence that if things broke right foles could get us to a super bowl. I no longer have that confidence

  • SteveH

Dion Lewis is killing it for me today, Gronkowski meanwhile is just killing me.

  • Guy Media

    Ha

  • scratcherk

    SUDS.

  • SteveH

I’m all in. Sudfeld instead of Foles.

  • Gary Barnes

    Nice play Nate

  • shah8

Man, watching cheap passing yards pile up on ESPN, and now I’m honestly wishing we had Joe Webb. Or Kap. Or anyone who can actually play the game or something.

    • Guy Media

      pffffffffffffffffffffff

    • xeynon

Joe Webb sucks so bad he got switched to WR. Cmon man, this doesn’t even work as trolling at this point.

      • shah8

Joe Webb actually played a key role in winning a game for the Bills this year.

        • SteveH

And that’s the one thing you can cling to over years of Joe Webb fandom.

          • shah8

I have a whole highlight reel. Webb has piled up a few good plays here and there.

          • SteveH

            I bet you do lol.

Cmon man you can’t just import a QB and in 2 weeks have him up to speed on what the team is doing. Teams have tried that before with disastrous results.

I do think if we had more time that bringing in Kap makes a lot of sense, but Joe webb is not that dude.

          • shah8

We can’t actually pick up Joe Webb. It’s bleeped up, but Kap is literally it. and of course he’ll be rusty as as bleep all.

        • FairOaks

Nick Foles also played a key role in winning a game for the Eagles this year.

          • shah8

            *snort*

      • shah8

        And seriously, though.

IT’S NATE FREAKIN’ SUDFELD!!!!!!!!!!1! At best, we’ll get TJ Yates level postseason performance against anyone in the playoff aside from Seattle or New Orleans, since they have the poorer pass rushes.

        I’m not really trolling.

        • xeynon

Foles is a far more accomplished NFL QB than Joe Webb.

That doesn’t necessarily make him good enough to win the SB with, or even good. But it is a fact.

          • shah8

            *snort*

In that Chip Kelly offense, Joe Webb would have been a far better bet, assuming he could reliably make passes.

          • shah8

It’s not like I don’t remember Foles’ fundamental issues losing a playoff game that Vick would have won.

          • Guy Media

Nick Foles made Riley Cooper drop a pass, our special teams suck at coverage, and Billy Davis have no f-ing clue how to make adjustments?

          • shah8

Nobody’s forgetting Foles not keeping the offense going on pace, and that long drought.

          • xeynon

Foles wasn’t dominant in that playoff game but he wasn’t the reason they lost it either. And Vick, at that point in his career, was shot.

          • xeynon

Even if you take Foles 2013 season out of the mix he’s still far more accomplished than Webb.

          • shah8

Again. Webb is a good natural passer, and a dominant QB rusher, essentially on Cam’s level. As a sheer natural, Webb>>Foles as a passer. It seems to be the other stuff that’s the issue, from being consistent in throwing a good ball, to actually knowing what’s going on and what needs to be done. Be that as it may, the fundamental difference is that Webb can actually make plays and issue defeats to a defense playing well. Foles cannot. Anytime you don’t have too much Bad!Webb, he’s going to be better than Foles against good defenses.

          • xeynon

If Webb is such a good natural passer, why does he have a career 63.1 QB rating and why has he been unable to stick with one team, or even remain a QB on some of the rosters he’s been on?

He obviously has some natural talent or he wouldn’t be in the NFL, but he’s not a good player. We have all the evidence we need to conclude that at this point.

Foles is what he is, which is a physically limited backup QB. Still gives you a better chance to win than a guy who’s never been anything better than a third stringer.

  • Gary Barnes

Are the OL starters still in the game?

    • Guy Media

      Big V is

    • TXEaglesFan

      And Wiz

    • Gary Barnes

      Interesting

      • xeynon

As Doug pointed out, you only have 8 OL on the roster. Can’t sit them all.

        • Gary Barnes

          Good point

  • scratcherk

    Donnie for MVP

  • SteveH

Lets tell Sudfeld to let it rip. I want to see him open it up and throw it down the field.

  • scratcherk

    safety FTW?

  • Checkdown Charlie

    Nice punt Donnie

  • TXEaglesFan

The Real Donnie Jones is back!

  • scratcherk

Well, unfortunately theres no decision to be made. as much as we’d like anything different than foles, i think he still gives us the best chance to win in the playoffs

    • Checkdown Charlie

Do we have another QB on practice squad if something goes wrong?

  • SteveH

Throw it to Gronk Brady you knob.

    • Duracell

I want Carson to keep the TD lead.

  • scratcherk

    take that #72

  • TXEaglesFan

Ha ref looks pissed at Cowboys he had to throw hat

  • Guy Media

Would it kill one of our DBs to go get a poorly thrown 50/50 ball?

  • scratcherk

this may be the worst game ive ever seen

    • Crus57

it’s not terrible by preseason game 4 standards

    • scratcherk

      since last week

    • Duracell

Keep in mind we’ve been playing strictly backups for nearly the entire game and Dallas has almost all their starters out there.

      • scratcherk

understood and i’ll watch every minute of it. just sayin

        • Duracell

No doubt. Just a much worse look for them than us.

          • Gary Barnes

Dallas is 8-7 and out of the playoffs. We need a higher standard than looking better than the Cowboys

      • Gary Barnes

Our offensive starters played the entire first quarter at least and several defensive starters played as well

        • Duracell

3 series for the starting offense minus Ajayi, 1 series for the half of defensive starters that actually played.

          • Gary Barnes

And they looked awful and produced nothing vs another poor defense like last week

          • Duracell

If Torey hadn’t dropped the touchdown would you feel the same?

  • SteveH

I’m sour, Dak actually made a good throw.

    • A_T_G

      Blind squirrel.

  • DarthBanner

    Soooo, Kaepernick?

    • Guy Media

      We’re good at RB/WR

      • DarthBanner

I know, just not at QB

        • Guy Media

So what’s Kaep going to add there?

          • DarthBanner

At worst he’d be as bad as foles has been the past couple of weeks.

          • Guy Media

            No, he’s worse than that.

          • DarthBanner

            Doubtful.

  • Gary Barnes

We may end up 13-2-1 lol. What an awful game. Doug better have some answers when we next play

    • Howie Littlefinger

We didn’t need answers for this game. Cowboys should be embarrassed lol

      • Gary Barnes

Disagree we definitely needed offensive answers and instead we stunk up the joint again. Awful performance

        • Howie Littlefinger

What Answers were u expecting to see? Foles threw 4 Tds two weeks ago. Eryz and Ags can eat the middle field. DP can coach aggressively. Torrey Smith will drop easy passes.

Honestly all you guys can bitch about whatever and whoever. The only universal truth we must all agree on is that Torrey Smith needs to be cut or benched.

  • scratcherk

    dak destroyed

  • scratcherk

    good throw

  • ChoTime

i still sort of expect to win this game.

    • Guy Media

All set up for a 7-6 lead that turns into 13-6 after we recover a lateral and take it to the house with no time left.

  • bobeph

    One and done folks

  • A_T_G

That missed extra point might cost them the game.

  • SteveH

Ok, the legend of Nate Sudfeld starts here.

Damn I wish we were playing our starters, we’d be destroying them with Cox and Graham and Jenkins in there.

  • Kohlhaas

Rasual Douglas has not looked good.

    • SteveH

the illegal contact was bad. He was in good position no reason to initiate contact.

    • D3FB

But we have to bench mills for him!

  • SteveH

HOW DOES GRONK STILL NOT HAVE A CATCH! AJHHHHHHHHHASN

  • scratcherk

    flag???

  • A_T_G

Cowboys even have a weak-ass finger wag.

  • ACViking

I appreciate that announcers are supposed to goose the excitement level …

But the Eagles are playing 2nd and 3rd and PUP-survivors on that drive.

    C’mon !!!

  • scratcherk

    terrible spot

  • Guy Media

That spot sucked; somebody should kick that ref in the neck.

    • ChoTime

Wilt could do it. Or Jet Li.

      • Guy Media

        Wilt = GOAT athlete.

  • SteveH

We should have challenged that spot he was definitely closer than they spotted him.

    • Guy Media

      Or jumped the ref.

      • SteveH

I’m not sure that would have resulted in a better spot.

        • Guy Media

It would have put me in a better emotional spot.

      • scratcherk

might need him in the playoffs.

        • Guy Media

Shelton Gibson could have run out and done it. Or a random member of the staff.

          • scratcherk

            i meant the ref, lol

    • Crus57

they would never give him the first down and we’re not going to sneak it even on 4th and inches so close to our EZ I think.

      • SteveH

I would. Why not? What’s there to lose.

  • SteveH

Man I’m mad, put the first string OL back in there and kick their fucking asses.

  • Guy Media

Nate Gerry further proving draft bust status with that INT drop

    • A_T_G

      But he is the Zeke-hunter.

      • Guy Media

He needs to hunt him down closer to the LOS

    • SteveH

IDK man he’s made some plays out there. He had a crazy shed and tackle earlier on Zeke and that was impressive he got Zeke down in space.

      • Guy Media

        Not
        a
        fan

        • or____

Not based on anything the guy ever did as an Eagle. Utter bs.

          • Guy Media

He’s done nothing to justify the waste of draft capital spent on him.

      • or____

MEDIA will hate that guy even if he makes 3 picks in the sb and we win and he gets mvp. Literally.

        • Guy Media

I’d also hate it if the Earth and Mars switched positions relative to the sun; not worried about it.

          • or____

But the guy could turn into a good player. And you’ll deny it to your grave. A person who’s football opinion of a player isn’t based on how the player plays football, is being obtuse.

          • Guy Media

I’m not losing sleep over him.

    • daveH

Looking him up now. .think he is one of us. ..

  • Guy Media

Poor pursuit by Gerry almost allows a first down on a play that should have been stopped 5 yards earlier.

    • A_T_G

Okay, Doug calls you tonight. He is considering cutting someone – Barner or Gerry perhaps – to sign Kaep and wants your advice. What do you do?

      • Guy Media

Cut Gerry, buy a baseball cap, sign Romo.

        • A_T_G

Man, you ducked that one like Zeke ducked the outlet pass with footstep approaching.

          • Guy Media

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

That reminds of how Al Harris used to do the footsteps dance on dudes if they dropped passes near him.

  • SteveH

Is Gronk not playing? This is insane.

    • or____

Why? If your answer is fantasy, come on. If not, come on.

    • daveH

Yep. .and whats his name the QB and dion Lewis also. .. and they got a new massive linebacker

  • SteveH

There’s just something wrong about letting the Cowboys get a win with guys like Shelton Gibson and Nate Gerry and Nate Sudfeld and William Beatty out there playing.

It goes against everything I stand for.

    • A_T_G

Think of it this way: we are so good and they are so bad that we don’t need to care about them.

      • SteveH

It’s just wrong though. I want to smash them into the earth.

        • RC5000

Nah we got young guys in and the Cowgirls who shouldn’t have played their starters so long who embarrassed themselves anyway.

    • P_P_K

It’s ok because the Cowboys can watch our guys on tv during the playoffs.

    • xeynon

Look at it this way: we have so little regard for them that we consider them unworthy of the honor of getting beaten down by our starters.

    • RC5000

The Cowgirls completely embarrassed themselves. Young rookie players realized their dreams of playing in the NFL.

  • Someguy77

I’m so glad I didn’t go to this game.

  • SteveH

Douglas had to break on Dez faster there, he had time to wrap him up.

    • Guy Media

Just remind him that his mother is a filthy whore and Jeff Ireland was right.

      • ChoTime

        over the line

        • Guy Media

No way; it’s Dallas week. And Dez should have been suspended on multiple occasions for all sorts of evil things he’s done that Jerry has paid hush money to cover up.

          • daveH

Pls get those stories out into the mainstream media guy !!

  • scratcherk

are these scrub cowboys actually celebrating?

    • scratcherk

      know your role

  • Someguy77

This game gave me Brad Goebel/Pat Ryan flashbacks where you hope the defense can somehow score a defensive TD.

  • Kohlhaas

Don’t you dare give the Cowgirls a shut out!

    • scratcherk

      too late

    • RC5000

      Cockroaches were thoroughly embarrassing today.

  • D3FB

    That’s the game

    • SteveH

I get why we’re resting the starters but… Jesus I wanted to wreck these shits.

      • ChoTime

I doubt they’re really excited about this result either.

      • D3FB

IDGAF honestly, would’ve been nice, but I wouldn’t have played starters at all.

It’s just gonna suck getting crushed in two weeks.

        • ACViking

          Coach –

Wentz transforms the 2017 team into a SB-level club.

In 2018, no guarantees with natural roster turnover, possible loss of Schwartz/Defillipo, and CW’s recovery.

          Real shame . . . .

          • D3FB

            Indeed

          • Someguy77

It just sucks. Everyone who says ‘well they finished 13-3’ should be forced to want All-22 of Foles the last 2 weeks Clockwork Orange style.

This year was so wide open and ripe for the taking.

          • xeynon

I keep hearing this but I’m not sure why. Other than Rodgers getting hurt and Elliott being suspended I’m not sure I see a single thing that really broke the Eagles’ way outside of Philadelphia. LAR, New Orleans, and Atlanta have all enjoyed comparatively good health and the NFC is really good this year.

I don’t think the Eagles are likely to go 13-3 again next year but if Wentz plays 16 games their floor is probably 10-6. With even a little luck they’re 12-4 and in bye land again. That’s how big a difference having a franchise QB makes.

          • ChoTime

            I like your optimism.

          • xeynon

This is the thing – I don’t even think it’s optimism, I just think it’s my realistic assessment of their chances based on probabilistic thinking.

If you tell me Brady, Rodgers, or Roethlisberger will play 16 games and their teams will otherwise have average luck with injuries, player development, etc., and ask me to predict how good the Pats, Packers, or Steelers will be based solely on that information, I’d say “12-4”. Same goes for the Eagles because I’ve seen enough from Wentz to place him in that class as a QB already.

          • Someguy77

They would have had home field and the biggest matchup problem would have the Rams. See how they play in cold weather too especially Goff who has played sparingly in bad/cold weather.

Even the Saints don’t scare me like years’ past because of Brees and their defense while improved isn’t a really good unit.

          • xeynon

Sure, but is there any reason to believe they won’t have an equally favorable path next year? I expect the Rams to remain relevant but they’re a better candidate for regression than the Eagles are since they’ve had exceptional injury luck this year. Brees is nearing the end of the line. Ryan, Rodgers, and Wilson are all good, but on huge, cap-clogging contracts that make plugging holes elsewhere on their rosters tougher. Carolina doesn’t scare me. In the division, the Cowboys appear married to a mediocre QB/coach duo, the Giants will either be breaking in a rookie QB or relying on a broken down old one, and the Redskins are a dumpster fire.

Nothing in this picture scares me that much.

          • xeynon

There are never any guarantees in anything but there are literally only 3 or 4 teams in the league who wouldn’t trade places with the Eagles going into next season, even with Wentz coming off an injury. He’s the best under 30 QB in the league bar maybe Russell Wilson. That’s an incredible foundation for sustained success and there is no reason to be pessimistic about the team’s long term prospects.

        • xeynon

Could well lose but I’m not scared of getting crushed. I expect Doug to scheme up some plays that will work and our D and the weather can keep it close.

          • D3FB

Unless Foles stops processing like a college sophomore then it’s gonna be bad. We’ve got a punchers chance but it’s low, and if we get NO we’re really fucked.

          • xeynon

Foles has played much better than this in the past, just gotta hope that with two weeks to prepare and the full playbook being deployed he’s better. That’s not impossible, perhaps not even improbable. These other NFC teams are all flawed too.

          • D3FB

Even solid or good Foles we’re probably still dogs.

          • xeynon

Against the field? Yeah. But that would’ve been true even with MVP caliber play from a healthy Wentz. The playoffs are a crapshoot even when you have a great team.

          • D3FB

I mean we’re dogs in any given matchup.

      • RC5000

I thought they embarrassed themselves even more not doing shit vs. mostly backups and 3rd string QB in his 1st game…

    • xeynon

We get out of the game with no injuries and the Cowturds hurt their draft position with a meaningless win.

      Not a terrible result.

      • daveH

And they still like their coach and QB is great long term for us

      • D3FB

I’m not that worried about the outcome, just would’ve been nice to look sliightly less lifeless. Not even regular bad. Just some signs of life.

  • Someguy77

People who attended this game should at least a coupon for 10% off at the Eagles’ Team Store.

    • D3FB

      And 20% off therapy.

  • Someguy77

At least for the cries to Nate Sudfeld should be muted the next 2 weeks.

Kind of name and looks like a no-name jobber who would flex and get pinned in under 90 seconds by the star wrestler.

    • RC5000

Hmmm Sudfeld 90.9 rating in 1st game ever with going vs mostly starters vs experienced Foles 9.3 rating….

Not that he should go in playoffs but that says little for Nick!

  • scratcherk

So youre saying theres a chance…..?

  • Jernst

    Haha

  • SteveH

    LATERAL TIME!

  • Guy Media

Time to spend two weeks getting ready to win two straight. Fix the play calling, improve the effort on blocking, tackling, and rushing the passer, or GO FUCK YOURSELVES AND BE LABEL A BUNCH OF GUTLESS / LAZY / CHOKE ARTIST FUCKS.

    Choose wisely Eagles.

    • FairOaks

If Doug was doing anything but boring play calls today, it would be a poor job. No reason to put anything “interesting” on film.

We expected this to be like a preseason game, and apparently that’s about what we got.

      • Guy Media

I was more talking the general lack of dedication / success / play design running the ball, not anything from yesterday.

  • ChoTime

someone needs to make a gif of that elliot reaction shot

  • scratcherk

    lol

  • Someguy77

Are the people still at the game simply too drunk yet to drive home?

Are they stricken with frostbite and unable to move?

    • Howie Littlefinger

      Can’t it be both?

  • SteveH

    Comedy gold.

  • Checkdown Charlie

    See ya’ll in 2 weeks

  • SteveH

Now for the high drama of seeing if the Browns can get a win. Down 4 with 4:30, CAN, THEY, DO IT.

    • Guy Media

I hope so, that helps me in a suicide pool.

    • BlindChow

Hue Jackson keep his job with a win?

  • Someguy77

After watching this team the past 3 weeks, you realize how Wentz just carried them this year.

With Foles and better health, this is a 7-8 win team that maybe somehow won 10 games.

    • Guy Media

But I think that only buries them against New England and (probably) Pittsburgh.

    • ChoTime

maybe, given we had massive injury issues, but kept chugging.

    • RC5000

True but Wentz was always a big step up to me. We hadn’t had a franchise QB since McNabb and I always thought Wentz was a franchise QB.

I thought Nick would be better than he has been not that I expected much. That’s the difference to me.

  • RC5000

So I’m rooting for Atlanta simply because of Russell Wilson being so hard for us but it probably won’t matter. It sure looks like us, Minnesota, Rams and Saints but you never know I guess.

  • ACViking

The weather forecast in Philly in 2 weeks is . . .

    SAT: cloudy 38/25
    SUN: sunny 44/17
    ____________

In his only three sub-32 degree games, Foles has gone:
    – 2013 DET: 11-22 179 1-1, rating 73.00
    – 2017 OAK: 19-38 163 1-1, rating 59.40
    – 2017 DAL: 4-9 39 0-1, rating 9.28
    (not a good trend)
    ____________

So . . . if Eagles get the Sunday 1:00 pm game (and forecast holds), I feel a lot better about Foles.

If the Birds get a late game, or even the 4:30 SAT game, not very optimistic.

    • Guy Media

If Pederson has this team ready to run the right plays, show effort in blocking and tackling, and avoid stupid mistakes; I’ll be optimistic.

    • xeynon

I believe the game time temp in that playoff game against New Orleans in Chip’s first season was in the 20s and Foles played fine. Weather forecasts two weeks out are also remarkably inaccurate.

I actually like our chances better if it’s a 15 degree, windy kind of day. Sure, Foles will likely suck under those conditions, but so will the opposing QB, and the Saints, Falcons, or Rams losing the full abilities of Brees, Ryan, or Goff hurts them more than losing the full abilities of Foles hurts us.

      • shah8

        Foles did not play “fine”.

        • xeynon

Says the guy still clinging to the idea that Joe Webb has what it takes to be a winning NFL QB years after even Joe Webb’s mom has given up on that belief.

      • ACViking

        X –

        Two things.

        1) Great call on the Saints game . . . 25 degrees at kickoff.
I only looked at regular season (dunce!!!).
        And Foles played well (22-33 195 2-0)

        2) Totally agree . . . bad weather is the great equalizer.

  • ColorSgt

This is going to be a long two weeks.

    • Guy Media

Yeah, there is going to be a lot of conversational mayhem. I’m just excited to learn who the opponent will be.

    • daveH

I’m not so hopeful actually so I’ll enjoy the bye week and hopes the extra week off is a difference maker for a week

  • daveH

Yout don’t get the nickname sunshine from being a cold weather dude

    • xeynon

Man people gotta stop reminding me of Riley Cooper.

  • xeynon

So the Browns have done it – completed the second 0-16 season in NFL history.

It’s a good thing they’ve only drafted QBs with the potential to be top 20 NFL passers. Can you imagine how much trouble they’d be in if they’d reached for somebody like Carson Wentz or DeShaun Watson?

  • Dragon_Eagle

    Just back from the Linc.

I take it watching it TV didn’t make it look any prettier, no?

    • ChoTime

      Basically Foles sucked.

      • Dragon_Eagle

        You saw that, too, huh?

        • Howie Littlefinger

He looked slow in every way imaginable

  • Eagles4life

Dear God, Please return the same Wentz favor to Goff, Newton, Brees and Keenum before any of those teams play against us!

  • bobeph

    Eagles are toast

  • bobeph

One and done, home field for 1 day

  • ACViking

Watching Chiefs’ rookie QB Patrick Mahomes v. Denver . . .

QB’s mobility makes such a big difference.

  • DustyRyder71

I’ve come to the inescapable conclusion that the Eagles’ only prayer of winning a single playoff game is an epic snowstorm that completely neutralizes the QB position.

    • xeynon

      Incorrect conclusion.

      • DustyRyder71

You’re probably right. They still wouldn’t have a prayer.

        • xeynon

No, they do have a chance to win. Even if Foles sucks they have a chance to win on the basis of their defense alone. The Steelers won a Super Bowl with Roethlisberger playing as badly or worse than Foles did in the last two weeks.

Obviously the chances aren’t great if they don’t get good QB play but to say they don’t have a prayer is just dumb and irrational.

          • DustyRyder71

Fandom is, by its nature, oftentimes irrational. I’m as positive and hopeful as anyone for 349 days out of the year. On 16 gamedays a year, I’m a gloom and doom fatalist. I think it’s some sort of defense mechanism. Been that way since Christmas Eve 1978.

  • Tom33

Flacco is 3 for 15 for 17 yards and his QB rating is 30 points higher than Foles’ was today.

    • ACViking

Flacco and Foles — killed by the weather.

      In comparable conditions . . .

      Brady: 15 degrees w/ 14 MPH
      18-37 190 yds 2-0 (rating: 82.04)
      ______________

Just reinforces how disappointing the loss of Wentz is.

      • anon

Ironically, it might be better if we didn’t have home field advantage.

      • xeynon

TDs vs. interceptions has a huge impact on passer rating (as it should, but that can magnify the differences between performances). That’s a pretty lousy performance for Brady as well.

The fact that Foles struggled and so did Prescott, Brady, and Flacco suggests that conditions were part of the problem and our offense might’ve struggled with Wentz as well. Weather will be a factor in the playoffs as well but it will hamper both teams.

  • Dave

Watching the Red zone channel, it’s very clear that if Sproles does not come back, the team has to draft a return specialist. Barner and Clement are JAGS, at best.

  • RC5000

Seattle’s offense has stunk it up nd they’re down 20-7 at halftime.

13 team yards passing (36 yards passing – 23 yards sacks and 11 yards team rushing lol.)

  • Dave

Damn, Shady carted off the field
